Spain holidays: Further new rules to target tourist hotspots as coronavirus figures soar

Anyone caught breaching the rules stands to be fined between €25 and €600,000 depending on the seriousness of the situation.

Organising boat or pool parties is now punishable with a fine of between €60,000 and €600,000.

Furthermore, offending premises can be closed for up to three years and if any tourist venue is involved, the owner can be banned from renting it out for holidays for the same length of time.

The Balaerics Prime Minister said many of the measures announced by the central government last Friday had already been applied in the islands.
