Will the Spice Girls get back together?
The Spice Girls have reunited a few times, most recently for an arena tour in 2019.
However, the last time the full five-piece was back together was at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony, where the girls performed a medley like no other.
It now seems Mel C has hinted there may be another reunion on the card, even saying the band members talk about it “weekly.”
She told Musicfeeds.com.au: “Touring is up in the air right now but that was my wish.
“‘I wanted to make the solo record but I wanted to carve out time for that and those shows.”
Those shows are the famous shows of the Spice Girls, and hopefully there will be one on the cards.
She added: “But getting four people to agree on times, places and duration is really, really hard.
“We stay in touch, the door and the dialogue is open. We are discussing opportunities on a weekly basis, so I like to think that at some point we’ll be back out on the road.”
The mention of four people means it does not seem likely Victoria Beckham will be joining them, and she has ruled this out a number of times.
Speaking on Good Morning America in January 2019, Beckham was asked whether it has been a difficult decision to not join the tour.
She said: “With the Spice Girls it was just great to travel the world, be with my best friends, have fun spread the girl power message.
“And for me now it’s still about that but it’s about empowering women through fashion.”
Asked if it was a tough decision to not join the tour, she said: “It wasn’t. I’ll always be a Spice Girl and I’m so proud of everything I achieved, I’m proud of them.
“It’s going to be the best show I can’t wait to take my kids and see it, but with my business now I just wouldn’t be able to do it.
“I wish them so much luck and love and in spirit I will absolutely be there with them.”
Despite this, off the back of Mel C’s interview, bookmakers are now taking bets on the reunion, with there being 4-5 odds the band will get back together.
According to Coral, the band is now at 4/1 odds to announce they are releasing a new album by the end of the year and 3/1 to go on a nationwide tour.
John Hill from Coral said: “2020 could be the year we see a number of former pop groups reunite, including the Spice Girls who are now odds-on to get back together following Mel C’s latest hint.”
The odds do not specify whether that includes Victoria Beckham, or whether that ship has well and truly sailed.
