In view of her 403,000 Twitter followers, Steph told fans about the conversation she had with her parents.

The Channel 4 presenter confessed the family allowed the eight-month-old baby to watch the cult-classic horror movie The Shining with them.

Steph tweeted: “Convo with my parents looking after my baby: She ok? ‘Great.’

“Slept ok? ‘Yep.’ Wake for a feed? ‘No.'”

“Wow, she slept through from 7pm? ‘Ah no, she woke at 9 until 12,'” the presenter continued.

Steph further quizzed: “Woah! Was she crying that whole time?”

To which her parents replied: “‘No, she was watching The Shining with us. She loved it cos it’s got kids in.'”

Fans rushed to comment on the post, as many people could relate to grandparents being more relaxed with their grandchildren.

One person commented: “Classic grandparenting. Grandparent’s tend to be far more chilled about such things in my experience. Although I always found that my kids could quite easily get away with stuff with my parents that when I was a kid would have resulted in a clip around the ear for me.”

Another person quipped: “My toddler would sit and watch horse racing with my dad. Used to tell me men’s names- turns out they were jockeys.”

“I watched the first series of American Horror Story with my new baby. Didn’t do her any harm,” a third Twitter user remarked.

While a social media user added: “When the grandparents are babysitting, all normal parental guidance goes out the window.”

Steph regularly talks about her family life but has remained relatively tight-lipped about her partner.

Talking to The Telegraph back in April, Steph revealed the reason she keeps her personal life private.

She said: “I work in the media, I know the importance of keeping certain things private.”

Meanwhile, Steph was quizzed by a fan who asked when the presenter will be making a return to viewer’s screens following the nationwide lockdown.

The person in question asked: “When you back on TV Steph?”

The Channel 4 star replied: “September,” followed by a thumbs-up emoji.

It comes as her self-titled programme The Steph Show, was taken off-air during the lockdown after she hosted the show for some time at home.

However, it was confirmed that the Channel 4 programme would be returning once their Leeds studio was completed.
