Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden, 28, has told fans she has been quiet on social media due to being in hospital. The dancer went on to praise the NHS for helping her in the wake of the coronavirus spread across the UK.
In view of her 160,000 followers, she wrote: “Sorry I’ve been so quiet, unfortunately [I’m] in hospital with my condition.
“The NHS are working so hard and we are so lucky to have them.
“Stay safe and healthy all. Lots of love to you all.”

Recalling the time she was diagnosed, she went on to say: “When I got the diagnosis, I thought ‘Finally, I have got an answer, now it is time to go and achieve my dreams’.
“I am not ‘Amy with Crohn’s’, I am ‘Amy the dancer’. It is not going to define me.”
On how it’s affected her life in the past, she added: “Terrible vomiting. Extreme vomiting, extreme pain.
“My body couldn’t cope, it would shut down. I would need to go into hospital.”
