Strictly's Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara reminded why they fell in love in lockdown

After meeting at a dance studio in London back in 2010, the couple have been connected ever since and began performing on the popular ballroom show together in 2013.

After a lengthy engagement, they finally tied the knot in 2017 at a romantic ceremony in London, followed by two more in their retrospective hometowns in Florida and Slovenia.

And while this year’s Strictly series hangs in the balance as producers are “working around the clock” to pull the show together amid the coronavirus pandemic, they admitted the lockdown has done wonders for their marriage.

Since the government sent the UK into lockdown back in March over fears of spreading the virus further, we have all been hauled up in our homes with not much to do.

Some are lucky enough to be isolated with their loved ones, while others are alone and missing the company of their family and friends.

But for Aljaz and Janette, their lockdown experience has been very positive.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, the pair described how their time spent confined together has helped them fall in love all over again.

It’s no secret that Strictly is a very demanding show, with the cast working ungodly hours rehearsing for the live shows.

But it’s not just themselves they’ve fallen back in love with.

Like many across the nation, they’ve adopted a new hobby outside of the ballroom.

Aljaz added: “We have used the kitchen more in the past couple of months than we have in the entire eight years we have lived in London and I have even bought my first barbecue.

“I’m really enjoying making burgers outside and Janette has found a new love for cooking.”
