Susanna Reid, 49, took to Twitter to inform fans that she will be absent from Good Morning Britain for “two weeks” due to coronavirus advice from the government, which was issued today.
The mum-of-three said she has made the decision after members of her family have suffered symptoms of the virus.
She wrote in view of her 656,000 followers: “I am currently well but due to the new advice today I will be self-isolating for two weeks due to symptoms in my household.
“Stay well everyone,” the star concluded with a heart emoji.
Piers Morgan was one of the first to comment on the news, by retweeting his co-host’s post in view of his seven million followers.
He captioned the post: “BREAKING,” alongside a crying face emoji to share his upset reaction.
BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker also took to the comments section of Susanna’s tweet to wish her well.
He wrote: “Stay safe Susanna. Hope you and the family are ok.
“See you back in a few weeks.”
