Susanna Reid, 49, has set the record straight on Piers Morgan’s cheeky comment about her flying in economy ahead of Good Morning Britain’s trip to the Oscars 2020. During a joint interview on ITV’s Loose Women ahead of the glamorous awards ceremony, Piers admitted he wouldn’t be sitting with Susanna after panelist Ruth Langsford asked the duo when they would be travelling to America.
The brunette beauty seemed stunned when Piers said “tomorrow”, as she replied: “Oh right. Well, I’ve got a few more days at work.”
Piers then mischievously jibed his fellow presenter by adding: “Susanna goes a bit more down the plane than me…”
Susanna has now addressed her co-host’s remark in her latest column for the Daily Mail, branding it “nonsense”.
She recalled: “Piers had flown out a few days earlier and joked on Twitter that, while he was in first class, I was much further down the aircraft.

“Nonsense, obviously. I’m at the front of the plane, too, although in Virgin Upper Class rather than BA First Class.”
Susanna’s response to Piers comes after he shared a snap of his luxurious experience on the flight to Los Angeles on Instagram with his 874,000 followers.
He captioned the photo: “Any nearer the front, I’d be flying it.
“Take me to Hollywood, @british_airways – the Oscars await!”
She continued: “After a shower in the evening, I’m more recognisable. I go downstairs, but find part of the lobby is cordoned off for a Chanel party.
“Of course, Piers has an invitation and I don’t. While he sips champagne with Margot Robbie, I’m behind the cordon waiting for my cab.”
Susanna also documented her preparations on Instagram, revealing she forgot to pack an important item alongside a selfie of her dishevelled mane in view of her 467,000 followers.
She captioned the post: ‘Forgot to bring a hairbrush. Hope no one notices. #GMBOscars.”
