Britain has reported another 42,302 coronavirus cases in the latest 24-hour period, the highest since mid-January, according to official figures released Wednesday, Trend reports citing Xinhua.
The country also recorded another 49 coronavirus-related deaths. These figures only include the deaths of people who died within 28 days of their first positive test.
The latest data were revealed as the British government has confirmed that most COVID-19 restrictions in England will end on July 19 as part of the final step or Step Four of England’s roadmap out of the lockdown.
However, the mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has asked Transport for London (TfL) to keep the requirement to wear face coverings on public transport as a condition of travel on all TfL services after July 19 when the existing national legal requirement ends.

A beach hut is the perfect way to enjoy the summer sun while taking in one of Britain’s beautiful beach locations. Interest in beach huts has piqued over the last year as more people spend time at home in the UK. Rightmove, the UK’s largest property site, said the average price of a beach hut has increased by more than 51 percent since 2019.
The £50,000 hut was painted in October last year and features a window, protective cover, double doors onto a veranda and removable balustrades.
Old Hunstanton beach has a coloured cliffs and the wreck of a trawler.
Situated in the Spa Pavilion location, this beach hut has a mansard-style roof and is positioned sideways.
The hut is also located next to green spa gardens, meaning you get the best of both worlds.
“Today, we have about 100.
“Some people might not fully grasp what makes these little huts so special, and might think they’re not much more than sheds by the seaside.
“But those who’ve experienced them know that they’re so much more than that – it’s about lifestyle and building memories; they take the seaside experience to a whole new level.”
Other great locations for beach huts include Southwold, Suffolk, Shaldon, South Devon, Cove Harbour, Berwickshire and Whitstable, Kent.
There are believed to be around 20,000 beach huts in the UK, which means you have plenty of choice.

Bitcoin fell sharply to below $ 39,000 on Wednesday, its lowest level since February, as news of further restrictions on cryptocurrency transactions in China sparked another major selloff.
The world’s number one digital asset bounced back to just above $ 40,000 as of 8am GMT, but was still trading 11% lower compared to the previous day.
The plunge reportedly comes after Chinese authorities banned financial institutions and payment firms from providing services connected to cryptocurrency transactions.

The restrictive measures, coupled with a warning to investors against speculative crypto trading, reportedly exacerbated the selling triggered by Elon Musk’s reversal on Tesla accepting bitcoin as payment. The announcement followed several tweets raising uncertainty over whether the electric automaker had sold its $ 1.5 billion holdings in the cryptocurrency.
Other cryptocurrencies also saw a massive drop in value with ether dropping nearly 15% to below $ 3,000. Dogecoin, a meme-based cryptocurrency that has been pushed by Musk’s tweets, declined by more than 16% to below $ 0.42, according to data tracked by Coindesk.
The latest selloff has wiped around $ 279.65 billion off the entire value of the cryptocurrency market in the past 24 hours.
