Soak Up Super Animal Royale’s Summer Royale Event

Hey super animals, the island is heating up and that can only mean that Super Summer Royale is here!

Loot, Shoot, and Fruit

Alongside the usual guns, bananas, and projectile birds, you’ll now find fruit baskets scattered around the island that can be redeemed in the Summer Event Shop for 8 new limited-edition summer cosmetic items and 17 legacy summer items. Survive longer to earn more fruit baskets and be sure to start hunting early, to grab as many as you can before the event ends July 20!

Super Animal Royale’s Summer Royale Event

We’ve also added two brand-new super animal breeds to the research lab in time for summer: the Super Avocado Sloth and Super Dragonfruit Wolf. These additions expand the roster of fruit-themed animals that began with last year’s Super Watermelon Skunk and Super Pineapple Hedgehog.

But most importantly, you’ll now find beach balls along the shorelines that you can and should kick. Just try not to get…you know…killed while you’re playing beach soccer.

Xcellent Feedback

We want to extend a huge thank you to all of you for making our debut in Xbox Game Preview such a huge success! Thanks to you, the population of Super Animal World more than doubled within the first two weeks and we’ve enjoyed meeting so many of you and hearing your suggestions and feedback. We’re already hard at work implementing a bunch of it.

First off: we’ve added controller button bindings in this update so you can now customize your controls on Xbox! We’ve also had good conversations with some of you about ways to fine tune the feel of aiming with a controller. We’re particularly focused on tweaking the design/distance of the aiming reticle and the way the left stick affects movement/aiming. You should see some of these tweaks in our next major content update.

Super Animal Royale’s Summer Royale Event

Another highly requested feature has been cross-platform parties so that you can squad up with your friends on different platforms. There’s some technical complexity associated with it, so we can’t yet confirm exactly when it might be added, but we understand how nice it would be so we’re actively looking into ways to support it! We’ll update you as soon as we have more info.

Thanks also to those who have been suggesting new animals, outfits, gameplay mechanics, and other new features in our Discord server! We take all of your feedback into account as we’re planning our next updates and we couldn’t be more excited to share the surprises we have in store for all of you in the months ahead.

Good luck climbing the food chain and collecting fruit baskets, Super Animals! We’ll see you on the island.

Williamson County veterinarian accused of animal cruelty after boarded dog died

Williamson County veterinarian accused

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — A Williamson County veterinarian is accused of animal cruelty after an English Bulldog boarded at her clinic had to be euthanized.

The owners of 5-year-old Jax said he was healthy when they dropped him off at the Animal Wellness Hospital at 4213 Farm to Market Road 3349 in Taylor on March 13. Surveillance video from that day showed he was fine. When they picked him up March 20, he had sores all over his body — including ones that had progressed to holes in his skin.

  • 5-year-old Jax had to be euthanized after staying at a Taylor vet hospital (Williamson County Sheriff's Office Photo)

He couldn’t walk and was covered in urine, Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said. The owners rushed him to another vet that day, but he had to be euthanized.

Detectives searched the veterinary hospital and “found strong, foul odors, feces, urine puddles, urine-soaked clothing, uncapped used syringes, and loose medications. Detectives observed animals being kenneled and boarded in these conditions, as well as a lack of food and water.” Officials removed animals from the clinic and, while some were initially taken to the Williamson County Animal Shelter, all were reunited with their owners.

Dr. Dana R. Boehm, the clinic’s owner, turned herself in to the Travis County Jail Wednesday. By Thursday afternoon she had bonded out. KXAN left her a message and will update this story when she responds.

Williamson County Jail records show Boehm was charged with felony theft in May 2007.

K.K. Slider Joins The Animal Crossing Build-A-Bear Collection

KK Slider plush

We’ll admit, we were a bit disappointed with the Build-A-Bear offerings back in April, when only Isabelle and Tom Nook were available. But things are starting to look up as everyone’s favourite dog musician finally makes his way to the collection: K.K. Slider is about to become real.

KK Slider PlushBuild-A-Bear

Along with his trusty (plush) guitar, the K.K. Slider plushie will, like his counterparts, include sounds when you press his lil hand. He doesn’t have phrases, because he’s a musician, not a talk…sician, so his sounds include either the opening theme song to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, or K.K. Disco.

Let’s take a wee break to listen to the majesty of K.K. Disco, shall we?

What a great song.

The K.K. Slider Build-A-Bear plush will be available only in the US starting at 10:00am Central Time (that’s 4pm UK time, or 11am Eastern), and the queues will open at 9:30am CT (3:30pm UK, 10:30 ET). Just head to the Build-A-Bear website at the queue start time (or follow the link in your email, if you’re signed up to the mailing list) and you’ll be directed to the waiting room. K.K. will be coming to the UK “soon”, and you can sign up for updates here.

Let’s just hope the waiting room is a little less chaotic this time, eh?

Random: Live Out Your Anime Dreams On The Animal Crossing Fruits Basket Island

Animal Crossing X Fruits Basket

Step aside, Disneyworld — there’s a new most magical place on Earth, and it’s the Fruits Basket island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Themed entirely around the mega-successful anime and manga series in which the Sohma family lives under a terrible curse, the island is home to protagonist Tohru Honda, and Sohma family members, Yuki, Akito, Kyo, Shigure, Hatori, Ayame, and Kureno.

Animal Crossing X Fruits Basket

The island is an official creation from the Fruits Basket team, as announced in a weekend tweet, and was made by illustrator Manamoko. Anyone who wants to visit can use the Dream Address of DA-8458-4531-4562.

There are also recreations of various areas from the series on the island, from Shigure’s house to the Sohma Dojo, and you can even download some of the patterns displayed in the photos with the design code MA-0019-7722-5775.

Animal Crossing X Fruits Basket

Unfortunately, Animal Crossing — despite its name — does not allow people to transform into animals, so you’ll just have to imagine that part for yourself. Also, no Momiji?! Everyone knows he’s the best one.

Super Animal Royale (Game Preview) is Now Available for Xbox One

The park is officially open! Super Animal Royale (Game Preview) invites you to pick an animal, grab an umbrella, hop off the back of a giant eagle, and sail down into the abandoned Super Animal World safari park for a fast-paced, frenetic dose of 64-player combat.

The Xbox One version features cross play matchmaking and cross-save with all other versions, so whether you’re new to the island or a Super Animal Royale veteran, you can bring your animals with you wherever you play.

If you’re an Xbox Game Pass member, you’ll start your journey with the Founder’s Edition DLC for free. The pack is only available to early supporters during the game’s Xbox Game Preview and Steam Early Access and includes three exclusive Super Animal Royale breeds and 10 exclusive cosmetic items.

Super Animal Royale (Game Preview)

Today also marks the arrival of the Beach Party Animal Pass, for those looking to equip their squad of Super Ducks with life jackets. Coinciding with a massive expansion of the island’s shoreline, season 0.5’s accessories will help you explore the new beaches in style.

Charmed and Dangerous

Super Animal Royale’s top-down 2D shooting, line of sight fog of war system, and colorful world set it apart from other games in the battle royale genre. Streamlined controls make it easy to learn and six-minuteish matches make it less punishing. Still, the mechanics have surprising depth, and reaching the top of the food chain is no easy task.

To survive, you’ll need to explore the park’s deserted attractions, frozen tundras, and blistering deserts to find weapons like submachine guns, bow & sparrows, and banana peels. To cover ground more quickly, you can also hop in a hamster ball or ride tandem with your duos partner on the back of a giant emu.

Super Animal Royale (Game Preview)

A Fork in the Mode

Beyond the core battle royale mode, the team is also experimenting with new limited-time game modes that support squads of up to four players. In S.A.W. vs Rebellion (32v32) you’re assigned to fight for either Super Animal World (S.A.W.) or Super Animal Super Resistance (S.A.S.R.) forces and win by either eliminating the entire opposing team or capturing and defending more flags than your enemy. Captured flags also provide loot and a healing buff, so you’ll want to be strategic in fighting to hold them.

In the second limited-time mode, Mystery Mode, the typical battle royale ruleset gets mixed up between seven different variants. Modifiers include Wild West (cowboy hats, magnums, and hunting rifles), Super Slow Bullets (50% speed for your best dodging moves), Bananarama (bananas as bullets, banana rain, and extra banana spawns) and One Hit Kill.

All the Super World’s a Stage

So, what happened to Super Animal World? How did a family-friendly animal theme park become the stage for the world’s most adorable fight to the death? Clues to the park’s history are strewn across the map, with secrets to find, NPCs to talk to, and easter eggs to unlock in between gunfights.

Super Animal Royale (Game Preview)

To learn even more about Super Animal World’s twisted lore, check out the game’s companion animated series “Super Animal Royale Tonight,” which follows the adventures of intrepid reporters Donk Patrick and Howl Michaels as they brave ceaseless attacks by the S.A.S.R. to bring you the best community submitted gameplay highlights. New episodes will arrive alongside every new in-game season, so make sure to capture your best moments and submit them for a chance to see your own clip featured on the show.

You can watch Season 2 of “Super Animal Royale Tonight” on YouTube, including the brand new episode showcasing the Shorelines update.

Super Feedback

Community feedback over the past 2.5 years of Steam Early Access on PC has played a huge role in what makes Super Animal Royale the game it is today, and the goal is the same for the Xbox Game Preview version. To contribute to the game’s continued evolution, join the game’s Discord server, where you can chat with the developers and engage with the artist and content creator communities. Former Fort Bend ISD teacher charged with animal cruelty for allegedly killing kittens

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) — A 29-year-old Sugar Land man has been arrested and charged with four counts of animal cruelty after authorities say he killed his pet kittens.Graham William Reid is a former teacher for Fort Bend ISD. According to the school district, he is no longer employed by them, and counseling is being made available to the students he taught.

Reid is accused of killing his cats, primarily by beating the young felines to death. The pets, reportedly named Cabbage, Parsnip, Carrot and Broccoli, all died violent deaths in a short period of time, investigators say.According to court documents, Reid admitted to killing the kittens as a means to feel powerful when he was otherwise stressed or frustrated. Reid reportedly said that he was bullied and oppressed as a child, relating to his need to feel powerful.

The kittens, ranging in age from about 8 weeks to 1 year, were allegedly beaten with a variety of objects, including a metal bar, a cat scratching post and a litter box scooper. The animal deaths came to light following a tip to an animal cruelty task force.

Fort Bend ISD issued the following statement:

“We have been made aware of a disturbing animal cruelty allegation against a teacher who is no longer employed with the District. We are unable to comment further as the matter involves an ongoing criminal investigation. Please know the safety and security of our students is our top priority and we are taking steps to safeguard the emotional well-being of our students by making well-trained counselors available to the teacher’s former students.”

There's An Animal Crossing Glitch That Lets You Sit In The Hot Tub

YOU CAN NOW SIT IN THE WATER IN ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW HORIZONS. This is not a drill, folks — though it is a glitch, and we can’t promise that it won’t break your game, so be careful if you want to try it out.

New Horizons players have figured out a new glitch in the game that lets you clip inside objects, including the paddling pool, the cotton candy machine, the rocket, the vending machine, and the hot tub. And, if you manage the glitch just right, you can even get into the water, although you might just fall through the world if you do it wrong.

Some players report that the glitch has been around since last summer — and we did cover one that let you run in the sea, for example — but now that players have the ability to sit down, the photo opportunities are better than ever.

If you want to figure out how to do it yourself, there’s a video (in Chinese) that details the steps, or you can follow the instructions laid out by Reddit user alien_urbano.
