Apex Legends DOWN: EA server status latest following Season 9 Legacy issues

Apex Legends servers are reportedly down again tonight following a bumpy start to Season 9 earlier this week.

Gamers report issues with connecting to live servers and receiving error messages stating that no servers could be found.

One affect user commented: “I get home from a day at work, sit down and turn on some Apex, which I’ve been thinking about all day due to the new season, and I’m met with a can’t connect to servers error. This is unacceptable for such a large company; it’s not just one server down.”

Another adds: “If you are on PC, most likely you can connect to servers. Those on consoles are the ones it would seem having the most trouble.”

The good news is that while thousands of comments are online backing up this latest server outage report, it appears it could be short-lived.

While many found themselves unable to play during the launch of Apex Legends Season 9, today’s outage has already seen a drop in reports, meaning that things could be solved very quickly.

Apex servers down AGAIN: Offline server status update

Apex servers down

Apex servers down: Apex Legends servers are currently down, leaving PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch owners unable to play games online.

The Apex server down status makes grim reading for fans, who have complained about not being able to find servers.

The outage tracker monitors social mentions around certain topics to detect when services go down across the world.

Needless to say, fans have been venting their frustrations on Twitter, especially after the previous outage after the start of Season 9.

Apex Legends update time: Release date for Season 9 Legacy, Valkyrie patch notes

Developers Respawn Entertainment has revealed its update time plans for Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy.

This is set to go live complete with Arenas Mode, a new 3vs3 experience that breaks the usual Battle Royale formula.

There will also be new map changes made to Olympus, with the lost fleet dropping into orbit, bringing with it an otherworldly, parasitic plant that has begun to take root along the surface.

The lead ship, The Icarus, has docked with the city and changed the landscape for good, with Respawn telling fans this week:

“A rogue fleet of ships from outer space has breached the atmosphere of Psamathe. Its lead vessel, The Icarus, has docked with Olympus, bringing with it a viscous, parasitic plant of unknown origin. The resulting outbreak begins to take root along the surface of Olympus and the accompanying vessels can be seen from as far away as the Docks.

“This new drop location can be found between Bonsai Plaza, Solar Array, and Orbital Cannon. The decrepit ship hosts four large rooms and contains tons of loot. Many squads should feel comfortable landing here, spreading out along the spine of the ship and pushing across its claustrophobic spaces.”

WHEN IS THE APEX LEGENDS UPDATE TIME?

Developers Respawn Entertainment has revealed that the Apex Legends update time has been set for Tuesday, May 4, at 6pm GMT.

For gamers in North America, Season 9 Legacy of Apex Legends will begin at 10am PST on PS4, Xbox and PC on the same day.

A message from Respawn adds: “The Games are going underground with the introduction of a new permanent mode: Arenas.

“Fully reassembled and unimpressed with the glitz and glamour of the Apex Games, former Apex Predator Ash is taking the competition back to its roots. A purer form of combat.

“The rules are simple: 3-versus-3. Eliminate your enemies to win the round. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. You win, or you die. See you legends tomorrow at 10am PT.”

Early patch notes have been shared confirming everything that’s being changed today behind the scenes.

This includes characters being rebalanced, with the Low profile trait being removed from Wraith, Lifeline, and Wattson due to an improvement being made to kits and hitboxes.

Other character changes can be found below as part of the official Apex Legends patch notes:

VALKYRIE

Kairi Imahara, the daughter of Apex Predator Viper, salvaged the remains of her father’s Northstar Titan years after his death. With Rampart’s help, she fashioned it into a sleek new jetpack that honors her family’s legacy. Now, she’s entered the Games under the name VALKYRIE.

Passive: VTOL Jets: Use your jetpack to reposition or reach high places. You have limited fuel and cannot use weapons while flying.

Tactical: Missile Swarm: Fire a swarm of mini-rockets which damage and disorient the enemy.

Ultimate: Skyward dive: Take to the skies to reposition a long distance across the map. Your squadmates can join in.

Class: Recon: Scanning Survey Beacons reveals the next circle’s location.

LIFELINE

Lifeline’s kit was not in a particularly healthy place. The Passive shield was extremely strong to the point of frustration, while her Tactical and Ultimate seemed like they were becoming more and more obsolete. These changes are aimed to redistribute this big power differential between all of her abilities, making D.O.C. and Care Package more powerful and effective, while tamping down on the highly binary and situational Combat Revive.

OCTANE

Octane continues to perform really well after the latest changes. Too well? We still love the frequency of the Jump Pad, but we’d like to make using Stim something Octane thinks about doing at the right time, instead of always slamming it by default.

LOBA

  • Burglar’s Best Friend: Can now run and slide at full speed while aiming the bracelet and while the bracelet is in the air. Loba will no longer be slowed after translocating.
  • Fixed a lot of bugs that caused bracelet tosses to fail.
  • Black Market Boutique: Increased cooldown from 90s to 120s.

Apex Legends Season 9 release time, patch notes and UK update countdown

Respawn has big plans for the release of Apex Legends Season 9, including a brand new mode going live across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

That’s without mentioning the new Legends character, which will be available to unlock as part of the release date.

Valkyrie is the daughter of Apex Predator Viper, who has salvaged the remains of her father’s Northstar Titan years after his death.

With Rampart’s help, she fashioned it into a sleek new jetpack that honours her family’s legacy. Now, she’s entered the Games under the name VALKYRIE.

Valkyrie comes with several new abilities, including using your jetpack to reposition or reach high places.

Gamers will also be able to fire a swarm of mini-rockets that damage and disorient the enemy, as well as use scanning survey beacons to reveal the next circle’s location.

This will all be part of this week’s Apex Legends update, with the Season 9 release date and timing locked in for Tuesday, May 4.

A full schedule has not been confirmed yet by Respawn but there is a good chance that something will be shared in the coming hours.

We also know what else is being planned for Apex Season 9, although there won’t be any surprise mobile launch this week.

Fans will be able to wield a new weapon and explore a fresh mode called Arenas, a 3vs3 experience that will be available to all players on launch day.

A message shared in the Apex Legends patch notes reveals this about the new Arenas mode, telling fans:

“The Games are going underground with the introduction of a new permanent mode: Arenas. Fully reassembled and unimpressed with the glitz and glamor of the Apex Games, former Apex Predator Ash is taking the competition back to its roots. A purer form of combat.

“The rules are simple: 3-versus-3. Eliminate your enemies to win the round. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. You win, or you die.

“Arenas features a new set of custom maps, tailor-made for close-quarters combat (with more to come in the future). Squads start each round in a spawn room, where they can get weapons, gear, and abilities, and adjust their loadout as their strategy changes. The first team to win three rounds with at least a two-point lead will be crowned the victor—unless they battle to a four-four tie. Then they’ll have the honour of participating in Ash’s favourite part of the game: Sudden Death.

“To win an Arenas match, you need to win at least three rounds and be ahead of the enemy team by two points.

“Let’s talk about what that looks like in practice. The easiest way is to win three rounds without dropping more than one round to your opponent. In other words, go 3-0 or 3-1 and the match is over.

“However, if your opponent is able to win at least two rounds, things get interesting. You’ll have to pull ahead by two full rounds to win. Going 3-2 or 4-3 won’t cut it.

“Instead, you’ll have to go 4-2 or 5-3 to secure victory. Rounds will continue until one team pulls ahead by two rounds. If this continues all the way to the ninth round (by going 4-4) the game kicks into sudden death mode. Whoever wins round nine takes home all the glory.”

WHEN IS THE APEX LEGENDS SEASON 9 RELEASE TIME?

Respawn Entertainment has revealed that the Apex Legends Season 9 release date has been set Tuesday, May 4, 2021.

This will start with the launch of an Apex update, which will add the new Arenas mode, as well as a new character, weapon and other changes.

It should be noted that while we don’t know the “official” Apex Legends release time for the UK, things could change later today.

Respawn has set big updates live much earlier than advertised in the past, so it will be worth keeping an eye out for surprises.

But based on the current countdown timer, the Apex Legends Season 9 release time has been scheduled for 6pm BST on Tuesday, May 4.

Apex Legends Mobile beta has begun for some as download wait continues

Author:
This post originally appeared on Daily Express :: Gaming Feed

Apex Legends Mobile has been teased by developers Respawn Entertainment and publisher EA for some time, with the official port finally confirmed earlier this year.

The good news is that an Apex Legends Mobile beta is being conducted, meaning that some lucky gamers will have the chance to test it out early.

And according to the latest reports, the first of these tests have begun, allowing a select group of Android users to download the game on their phone.

The only downside is that this option is not available to everyone, and it could be a while before it becomes an option in the UK.

To begin with, the Apex Legends Mobile beta will be available to a few thousand lucky players in India and the Philippines.

But after this small initial rollout, EA is planning on opening up the Apex Legends Mobile beta to more players and regions around the world.

The first Apex Legends Mobile betas, which are launching in Spring 2021, will also only be available for Android devices.

EA said that as the size and scope of the beta tests expand iOS support will get added, along with a page that lets fans pre-register for the game and to sign-up for news about the beta.

And unlike other games, Apex Legends Mobile will not feature crossplay with other platforms, meaning you won’t be able to play with friends on console or PC.

A new report out today suggests that the new Apex Legends Mobile beta has begun in select regions.

A message from Respawn adds: “The Apex Legends Mobile is currently still in development and being optimised to run on a variety of devices.

“The beta specifically is available for phones running Android 6.0 and up. The mobile devices supported by this test do not represent the finally launched version, and we will support more models in the future.

“The game is still in development and the team is working to ensure Apex Legends Mobile truly feels like Apex Legends at its core.

“To start, only the World’s Edge map and some of the original Legends from the game will be playable. Additional details on the content available will be made closer to the launch of the game.

“To start with during our tests, the game will only be available on Google Play. We should note that the game should not be sideloaded through a third party site or direct APK download.

Apex Legends Season 9 might not start until May, but that doesn’t mean Respawn won’t start building the hype.

With a few weeks to go before all the new content goes live across PS4, Xbox One and PC, it looks like fans will get an in-depth look at what is being planned beforehand.

This will be part of the new Apex Legends Season 9 Legacy gameplay trailer, which is scheduled to go live this week.

Respawn has only provided a few hints at what will be included, telling fans on social media that it will be worth tuning in for.

We already know that Season 9 will introduce a new character called Valkyrie, with new weapons and map updates also being planned.

But with a lot of regular content expected to arrive with Season 9, Respawn has also been hinting at something more.

Arenas Mode looks set to be a big part of Apex Legends Season 9 and there have been a few teasers that it will offer something different from Battle Royale.

What that could be is anyone’s guess right now, although fans are hoping it will include giant robots fighting each other.

And some of the mystery clouding Season 9 could be lifted this week with the new Apex Legends Legacy Gameplay trailer.

APEX LEGENDS LEGACY REVEAL START TIME

Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that they will be sharing a new Apex Legends Season 9 reveal on Monday, April 26.

The official Apex Legacy Gameplay Trailer reveal time has been set for 4pm BST on Monday, or 8am PST if you live in the United States.

A message from the Respawn team confirms: “Get ready to go beyond battle royale. Tune in tomorrow at 8 AM PT to watch the Apex Legends: Legacy Gameplay Trailer and learn all about this new way to play.

“Get ready to go beyond battle royale. Tune in tomorrow at 8 AM PT to watch the Apex Legends: Legacy Gameplay Trailer and learn all about this new way to play.”

As mentioned above, this new trailer is expected to reveal everything being planned for Season 9, including what new modes will be coming to the game.

The new trailer will be available to watch on YouTube, which can be found via the embed above.

Here’s what we know so far about Apex Legends Season 9 and what is being planned for May 2021:

NEW LEGEND: VALKYRIE – Bold, brash, fiery and fierce, Kairi Imahara grew up in the shadow of her father’s legacy. But now she’s ready to launch her own.

INFESTED OLYMPUS – An infestation has sprung loose, strangling the city with roots and natural growths.

NEW WEAPON: BOCEK BOW – A powerful and deadly weapon, for those with the skill to wield it. Capable of inflicting tremendous damage at medium range, you’ll need to make each shot count.

LEGACY RANKED – Prove yourself in Ranked and go down as one of the greats.

Apex Legends War Games event patch notes and release time latest

It won’t be long before gamers are playing through the new playlists and modes included in the Apex Legends War Games event.

Scheduled to launch today across all platforms, gamers will soon see the normal playlist replaced by a collection of heavily modded variants.

So far, we know that these will be available for just a short period, with new modes being added every few days.

This looks set to start on Tuesday, April 13, with the Apex Legends War Games event time set to begin by 8pm BST.

The other big part of the Apex event will be unlocking the new War Games cosmetic, which includes new skins for Pathfinder, Wraith, Lifeline, Gibby, Mirage, and Bloodhound.

Here’s the full list of War Games modes that will be going live later today:

SECOND CHANCE

We’re kicking things off with a bang on April 13th with our first modifier: Second Chance. In this modifier, each Legend is granted one free respawn per match. Once a Legend is killed, their Respawn Token is consumed as they rise again from their current location retaining all their weapons and gear. After a short duration, the player respawns high in the air to skydive back into the action.

Note that, while Second Chance is active, Players will be unable to Unlock Assassin, Wake, or Wrath badges, since these prestigious badges would be far easier to unlock in this mode.

ULTRA ZONES

Then we shake up your ideal drop strategy with Ultra Zones! Ultra Zones introduce the concept of multiple Hot Zones within a single map. More epic loot, more gold items! But wait, there’s more! Each Hot Zone is enveloped in a Flash Point—a returning feature from a Season 6 LTM. For those who don’t already know, Flash Points are enormous, glowing bubbles that replenish your HP and shields when you stand in them. In this mode, consumable items are still available as normal throughout the loot pool.

AUTO BANNERS

Tune-in mid event for Auto Banners. In this modifier we’ve made a rather small but spicy change to squadmate respawning. Your Squadmates Banner Cards are automatically retrieved! No need to loot their death box to retrieve their Banner Cards, just head straight to a respawn beacon. The loot pool has been altered to contain more Mobile Respawn Beacons too.

KILLING TIME

Feel the pressure with Killing Time. This event speeds up the match as Legends fall. During a round, whenever a Legend dies, the round time is reduced. If any given round is a massacre, you can bet that ring will be closing real quick! Keep an eye on the round timer and the ring in this modifier.

ARMOR REGEN

We’re closing out the event with Armor Regen. That’s right: your armor regenerates over time at a rate of 12 points per second. Whenever you take damage, your armor will begin regenerating after an 8-second delay. This delay is doubled to 16 seconds if your armor gets cracked. One last thing for this mode: there are no Shield Cells in the loot pool!

The Modifier Schedule has also been announced, meaning you will only get to play these new Takeover modes for a few days.

All modes begin and end during mornings, PT time, with the last day of the variant modes set for April 27. The full schedule is as follows:

Second Chance: Tuesday, 4/13 – Thursday, 4/15

Ultra Zones: Thursday, 4/15 – Monday, 4/19

Auto Banners: Monday, 4/19 – Wednesday, 4/21

Killing Time: Wednesday, 4/21 – Friday, 4/23

Armor Regen: Friday, 4/23 – Tuesday, 4/27

As in past events, you can earn up to 1,000 points per day and challenges refresh daily. There are also stretch challenges that reward four unique badges if you complete them during the event. All of these challenges also stack with your Battle Pass, so you can complete multiple at once.

There will also be new skins to unlock, with Pathfinder, Wraith, Lifeline, Gibby, Mirage, and Bloodhound all rocking some re-imagined takes on classic looks to celebrate the War Games.

Five fresh modes will be taking the place of the normal playlist, which will not prove popular with everyone.

But with War Games only sticking around for a short period, gamers can expect everything to go back to normal later in April.

Unlike with other events, these new modes will be coming out as part of a rotation that will be continuing throughout the month.

So that means the new Apex Legends update will need to go live before 8pm BST across all platforms.

If any given round is a massacre, you can bet that ring will be closing real quick! Keep an eye on the round timer and the ring in this modifier.

ARMOR REGEN: We’re closing out the event with Armor Regen. That’s right: your armor regenerates over time at a rate of 12 points per second. Whenever you take damage, your armor will begin regenerating after an 8-second delay. This delay is doubled to 16 seconds if your armor gets cracked.
