Life after death: Woman believes she saw the 'face of Jesus' in out of body experience

Life after death researchers have shared the incredible account of a woman who only introduced herself as Maria. According to the woman’s account, she has been suffering from sleep apnea for many years, which she believes ultimately led to her encounter with the Christian Messiah. Sleep apnea is a terrifying condition that causes people to stop breathing when they sleep, sometimes even leading to their death.

In Maria’s case, she told the Near-Death Experience Research Foundation (NDERF) she was sleeping alongside her partner when her spirit left her body.

She described being suddenly “awake” but floating in above her partner and herself.

A warm light then flooded her eyes and surrounded her on all sides.

And though she does not remember moving her legs Maria found herself moving forwards, floating in the air.

She moved into an otherworldly realm filled with “maybe 10 to 20” souls that communicated with her telepathically.

This realm was filled with an overwhelming sensation of love and warmth that brought Maria to tears.

But the real highlight of the experience came next because Maria claims to have seen Jesus Christ Himself.

Maria said: “Through my veil I could see a bright light then the outline of His face, the holy face of Jesus Christ.

“The light was beautiful and warm and appeared to be emanating from Jesus along with overwhelming love and compassion.

But no matter how profound or incredible Maria’s story may appear, many medical experts would not be quick to take it at first value.

There is a growing body of evidence to suggest the visions and memories associated with near-death experiences (NDEs) are not supernatural or paranormal.

Instead, scientists have proposed there are certain chemical and physical processes that could account for these phenomena.

For instance, researchers at the University of Michigan have studied brain activity in lab mice with induced cardiac interest.

Incredibly, the researchers recorded a spike in brain activity in the final 30 seconds before death.

Jimo Borjigin, PhD, associate professor of molecular and integrative physiology and associate professor of neurology, said: “This study, performed in animals, is the first dealing with what happens to the neurophysiological state of the dying brain.

“We reasoned that if near-death experience stems from brain activity, neural correlates of consciousness should be identifiable in humans or animals even after the cessation of cerebral blood flow.”

The expert added: “The prediction that we would find some signs of conscious activity in the brain during cardiac arrest was confirmed with the data.”

One theory suggests vivid NDEs, like Maria’s, are hallucinations caused by an inadequate flow of oxygen to the brain.

Life after death: Man believes he was in 'presence of the creator' in afterlife

Life after death: Man believes he was in 'presence of the creator' in afterlife

Whether there is life after death remains to be seen, but one man believes he now has the truth. Writing on the Near Death Experience Research Foundation, a person named Darrell claims he saw the afterlife after suffering cardiac arrest.

Darrell said he was flatlining for 12 minutes before doctors could resuscitate him, but to Darrell it felt like an eternity.

While under, Darrell says he believes he met the creator of the Universe.

But this being was not a human form, instead, it appeared in just the form of the colour blue.

The man wrote: “My wife sitting beside the left side of my bed. A beautiful blue, shimmering light appeared in between us.

“The blue light communicated with me a profound and powerful sense of love.

“I quickly ascertained that I was in the presence of the creator of the Universe and in the presence of the holy spirit.

“Initially, I thought it might be God himself, but then realised that God is a person not a blue, shimmering light.

“After a few minutes, the whole scene just dissipated.”

Darrell woke up in the hospital 17 days later, but that one memory stands out clearly.

Since the experience, Darrell said he has vowed to “serve the Lord the rest of my life”.

However, researchers are not so sure experiences such as Darrell’s are necessarily a sign of the afterlife or God.

Researchers from the University of Michigan clinically induced cardiac arrest in rats while simultaneously monitoring their brain activity.

They were stunned to discover brain activity surged in the final 30 seconds of their life.

Essentially, if the brain is more active, one might have vivid visions, leading them to believe they had seen the afterlife.

Dr Borjigin added: “The prediction that we would find some signs of conscious activity in the brain during cardiac arrest was confirmed with the data.”

Life after death: Man believes he was set to be REINCARNATED in afterlife – claim

Life after death: Man believes he was set to be REINCARNATED in afterlife - claim
While there is no evidence of reincarnation, it is the theory that the soul carries on and is placed in another body following death. Now, one person believes he has a first-hand experience of reincarnation. A man by the name of Hazim temporarily died following a “criminal attack” in his homeland of Syria.
Hazim believes he entered the “cosmic” afterlife where encountered beings who were prepping him for another body.

Hazim said the being spoke telepathically in this other dimension, which was complete with a futuristic city.

He said on the Near Death Experience Research Foundation: “Suddenly, I found myself in another cosmic dimension.

“It was a strange place that I saw for the first time. I was in a place like empty space over pink clouds.

“There were huge metal circles spinning high in the skyscrapers, and there were two spiritual Beings talking via telepathy.

“One of them gave a command to the other, saying, ‘Clear his memory and prepare a new body for him,’ as it happens in reincarnation.

“Then I was placed in one of the giant metal circles and it started spinning. My memory began to fade away little by little until I forgot everything and no longer remembered even my name, who I am, or where I was.

“Then suddenly the one Being gave the other Being the opposite command, saying, ‘Bring him back to life because he has a job to do.’

However, some researchers believe visions such as Hazim’s are normal and are more the brain scanning itself as one final survival technique.

Dr Sam Parnia, director of critical care and resuscitation research at NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York City, said: “People describe a sensation of a bright, warm, welcoming light that draws people towards it.

“They describe a sensation of experiencing their deceased relatives, almost as if they have come to welcome them.

“They often say that they didn’t want to come back in many cases, it is so comfortable and it is like a magnet that draws them that they don’t want to come back.

“A lot of people describe a sensation of separating from themselves and watching doctors and nurses working on them.”

Life after death: Man believes Jesus Christ shepherded him to afterlife

Life after death: Man believes Jesus Christ shepherded him to afterlife
Whether there is life after death remains one of the biggest mysteries to humanity. With no scientific evidence, we are forced to rely on any anecdotal proof of any afterlife. One man, named Gary, believes he has said evidence, and even claims to have seen Jesus Christ.
Gary suffered his near-death experience following a car crash.

As soon as Gary had the accident, he said he saw Jesus Christ and many of his loved ones watching and waiting for him to come to the afterlife.

Gary wrote on the Near Death Experience Research Foundation: “I felt like I wasn’t in my body. I was in blackness but with hundreds of sparkly lights.

“I was a little scared because I could see my hunched-up body and knew that I’d passed over.

“To my left and in a field, there were many people. I saw my grandma and her sister who had passed in the previous year.

“The colours were so vivid! In front of me was a medium-sized stream with a white bridge over it. Jesus was standing on the other side of the bridge.

“There was a huge, sunlit object shining down on his left side. But it didn’t hurt me to look at it.

“I heard in my head, Jesus asking me, ‘Gary, would you like to stay for eternal peace and happiness or go back?’ I thought, ‘I’d like to go back.'”

“As a scientist, however, I operate under the hypothesis that all our thoughts, memories, precepts and experiences are an ineluctable consequence of the natural causal powers of our brain rather than of any supernatural ones.

“That premise has served science and its handmaiden, technology, extremely well over the past few centuries. Unless there is extraordinary, compelling, objective evidence to the contrary, I see no reason to abandon this assumption.

“Modern death requires irreversible loss of brain function. When the brain is starved of blood flow (ischemia) and oxygen (anoxia), the patient faints in a fraction of a minute and his or her electroencephalogram, or EEG, becomes isoelectric—in other words, flat.

“This implies that large-scale, spatially distributed electrical activity within the cortex, the outermost layer of the brain, has broken down.”
