Chateau Speedway fans and drivers kick off Fourth of July Weekend

Chateau Speedway kicked off the Fourth of July Holiday weekend with some exciting racing action Friday Night. Six classes of cars set off their own kind of fireworks as 100 cars filled the pits for the night’s action.

Highlighting the night was the seventh different feature winner in seven weeks in the USRA B Mod Class. Garitt Wytaske of Austin kept the string going of a different feature winner each week as he led flag to flag to take the USRA B Main Event. 

Greg Pfeifer Junior of Austin scored his first feature win of the season in the Action Builders WISSOTA Midwest Modified Class. Pfeifer jumped from row two to the front on the first lap and led flag to flag for the win.

“We’ve got a number of things in the attic, we’ve got…”

Cutting her off, Dick pointed out: “There’s a room in the attic that Angela hasn’t been into yet.”

“I really haven’t, it’s quite high up,” Angel explained. “I didn’t know for a long time that it was actually there.

“We’ve got a number of rooms in our outbuildings as well and I’m romantic, there’s a part of me that doesn’t really want to explore it all because in my mind there’s a bit of mystery that I haven’t discovered yet,” Angel added.

Dick Strawbridge breaks silence on 'bullying' claims amid future of Escape to the Chateau

The mum-of-two shared that people who work with them on television have always been like family.

Angel said to The Telegraph: “These anonymous people – we don’t know who they are – we probably only met once. One of them, the main one we think, we only met for a couple of hours.

“The people who were here for any length of time were family; the kids knew them and we really opened up our world to them, so you can imagine that it felt very sad to read a lot of that stuff.”

Dick, who previously worked as colonel, addressed his background in the military and upholding high standards of behaviour.

Angel and Dick renovate their 19th century castle, Château De La Motte Husson, in the programme.

The luxury home is based in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, located in the French countryside.

The large castle has 45 rooms and had not been lived in for 40 years before they purchased it.

It was bought for just £28,000 in 2015 and the couple had to install essentials such as electricity, heating and running water.

'Does my head in’ Angel Adoree details ‘tricky’ part to chateau life with Dick Strawbridge

Speaking in a recent video, she admitted how the clutter in one of their rooms just “does her head in”.

She explained: “I look in every single corner of this room and there’s just clutter and it absolutely does my head in. It just does my head in.

“I cannot wait to get me a mobile little office, I can be like a little tea lady and take it away at night and I can’t see it again.”

She added in the video for Homebase: “I’m looking around here and I want to get the scarves sorted and I want to sort the books out.

Millions of fans have enjoyed gaining an insight into their project on TV, and during this tour retired Lieutenant Colonel Dick and designer Angel will share more untold tales with audiences.

The pair first lived together in the UK, before going on to find fame in their programme Escape To The Chateau, with their two young children Arthur and Dorothy.

Dick and Angel purchased their 18th-century chateau in 2015, and have been renovating it as part of their show ever since.

The castle, which is based in Pays de la Loire, near Nantes, and has an enormous 45 rooms for their young family to enjoy.

Dick Strawbridge, 61, has shared on Twitter that he and his wife of five years Angel Strawbridge, 42, will be taking their Dare To Do It Tour on the road again in 2022, once all coronavirus restrictions have finally been lifted. The Escape To The Chateau star said he is “so excited” to be able to interact with members of the public on the upcoming tour with his spouse, after being forced to postpone dates last year, as the coronavirus pandemic caused theatres to close due to a national lockdown.
Dick re-shared a post from the Escape To The Chateau Twitter account which read: “We have news! We’re so excited to announce that Dick and Angel’s ‘Dare To Do It Tour’ is finally back! 

“And YOU are the first to be able to buy tickets…from TODAY!”

Alongside the tweet, Dick added in view of his 78,5000 followers: “We’re planning ahead… 2022 we’ll be back on the road again, hope to see some of you!  

“Official nationwide sales are next week, but those who follow us are getting a bit of a head start.”

The Dare To Do It tour will take place in 2022 from the beginning of February till the end of March.

It will visit most major UK cities including Birmingham, Manchester and London. 

During the exciting event, Dick and Angel will explain to audiences how they dared to follow their dreams of moving to a run-down chateau in France.

The pair first lived together in the UK, before going on to find fame on their programme Escape To The Chateau with their two young children Arthur and Dorothy.

The star divulged her life is now like a “fairytale” in France, and she would like others to also be inspired to potentially relocate abroad.

However, Angel admitted it is very important in a relationship to work as a team, and it requires “working long hours” in the pursuit of realising your dreams.

Dick and Angel purchased their 18th-century chateau in 2015, and have been renovating it as part of their show ever since.

The castle which is based in Pays de la Loire, near Nantes, and has an enormous 45 rooms for their young family to enjoy. 

Fans of the show are also able to stay at the chateau through short-rentals, and can even have an “elegant vintage” style wedding on the grounds.

Speaking on This Morning, Angel said they spend the proceeds from each booking wisely, saying: “Each wedding we got booked in we allocated it to a sink or a bathroom.”

For those who can not make it to France, Angel has recently launched a special range of affordable Escape To The Chateau style cutlery in partnership with Sainsbury’s.

The vintage afternoon tea collection comes in pastel shades of blue, teal and mustard, making it the perfect gift for Mother’s Day this year.
