Marilyn Monroe: Tony Curtis claimed their Some Like It Hot affair resulted in pregnancy

Back in 1958, Billy Wilder shot his classic comedy starring Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon opposite Marilyn Monroe herself. The movie followed two musicians who disguised themselves in drag to escape the Mafia, after they witnessed the gangsters committing a crime. Monroe, who played singer Sugar, was notoriously difficult on set by often being late or not showing up to filming.

However, it should be noted that Monroe, who would have been 95-years-old today, was also suffering from physical and mental issues at the time.

Curtis, who played saxophone player Joe, famously said that filming romantic scenes with the icon was like “kissing Hitler”

Although years later in 2008, he told The Guardian the origin of this line which seemed to be taken out of context.

He told the outlet: “Someone said to me, ‘Hey, what’s it like kissing Marilyn?’ I said, ‘It’s like kissing Hitler. What are you doing asking me such a stupid question?’ That’s where it came from.”

A year later, Curtis would publish his memoir The Making of Some Like It Hot: My Memories of Marilyn Monroe and the Classic American Movie.

In the book, released just a year before his death, the actor claimed he had an affair with Monroe while both of them were still married.

The pair had briefly dated in 1949 before either of them shot to stardom, but rekindled the romance on the set of Some Like It Hot.

According to The Guardian, the 84-year-old said at the time: “What I experienced with her was unforgettable.”

After filming was completed, Curtis claimed he learned that Monroe had had a miscarriage.

The Hollywood icon would tragically die just a couple of years later on August 4, 1962, of barbiturate poisoning. She was only 36-years-old.

Last year, 2000 Brits were polled by Klook to find out which famous dead star or historical figure they’d most like to meet if time travel were possible.

Monroe, the second American after Elvis Presley, came sixth place. Below is the rest of the Top 10.

1. Princess Diana 8%
2. Freddie Mercury 6%
3. Winston Churchill 6%
4. Elvis Presley 5%
5. William Shakespeare 4%
6. Marilyn Monroe 4%
7. Bob Marley 4%
8. John Lennon 3%
9. Stephen Hawking 3%
10. Robin Williams 3%

EastEnders' Michael Greco slams AJ and Curtis Pritchard after Hollyoaks debut

EastEnders star Michael Greco has slammed AJ and Curtis Pritchard after their acting debut.

Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ and his brother appeared on Hollyoaks for their acting debut.

But, Twitter made fun of the pair online after their scene went viral for the wrong reasons.

And it seems soap stars have been doing the same.

Michael, who played Beppe DiMarco on EastEnders between 1998 and 2002, caught wind of the video and took to Twitter to share his thoughts.

Michael wasn’t impressed by the scene

He tweeted: “This is everything and more that is wrong with an industry I love.

“These people that suddenly come up with these casting ideas need to resign immediately. Shocking.”

The star deleted his rant before tweeting again about how ‘not’ to act.

“I think people can watch this and learn so much from it. How ‘not’ to act. Shocking,” he said.

Viewers took to Twitter to make fun of the scenes

His tweet was in response to The Fall actor Gerard McCarthy’s criticism of the brother’s acting abilities.

Gerard retweeted the video and put in his two cents, writing: “The next time a producer/casting director says the words “but they have a big social media following”…. Just point them in the direction of this absolute car crash!”

The star, who played Kris Fisher on Hollyoaks, added under his tweet: “It’s a simple idea: stop giving actors’ jobs to models / reality tv contestants / pop stars from 1995 / Crufts winners / anybody else who is not an actor.

“THEY WILL BE SH***!”

Michael responded to the actor, joking that “if they don’t win a BAFTA then I’m done”.

AJ and Curtis’ characters arrived on the show with the plan to get into Trish’s inner circle in hopes of destroying her career.

Curtis Jones sent off in bust-up after England's heartbreaking U21 Euros exit

Liverpool star Curtis Jones was involved in an incredible bust up as he was sent off for England U21s.

The 20-year-old tried to confront Croatia players after the final whistle in a major flare up.

Jones had to be wrestled away from a fight by England staff and was shown a second yellow card for his loss of control.

Boss Aidy Boothroyd said: “It got a bit heated. There has been no racial situation at all. The passion and disappointment of one team celebrating and our boys being devastated… it was something and nothing.

“He got the blood on the nose in the game. All the players are very disappointed.

“There was a team jumping around, staff on the pitch celebrating in between some of our boys. I will find out what went on there. It was highly emotive situation. Difficult things can happen. Both sets of staff sorted it out.”

Jones came close to pulling off a minor miracle clinching the two goal lead that would have sent England into the knockout stage in May

But an injury time wonder-goal from Domagoj Bradaric, smashed home from 25 yards in the 91 st minute, wrecked the Three Lions hopes.

Boothroyd praised the spirit of his players who revived after two miserable Group D defeats and only one shot on target.

England were energetic, determined and composed, everything they weren’t and questions will be asked as to the attacking intent, team selection and attitude in the previous games.

Jones has played brilliantly before being upset after the final whistle as the Croats danced around the pitch.

England took the lead after 12 minutes after a positive start. Awarded a highly debatable penalty for Luka Ivanusec’s challenge on Eddie Nketiah, Crystal Palace[1] star Eberiche Eze rolled the kick home.

It took until the 75 th minute for the Jones to grab the second. Sub Rhian Brewster lashed in a cross and Dwight McNeil shielded the rebound and laid off to Jones.

The Anfield kid picked his spot from 15 yards out and had Boothroyd and his staff roaring with delight on the sidelines.

But Croatia only needed to score another themselves to qualify, and they did that 47 seconds into injury time when Bradaric rifled home a brilliant strike from 25 yards.
