Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards this week – Bungie Loot report June 2021

UPDATE: Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris will feature the Distant Shore map across PS4, Xbox One and PC until June 8. Bungie has not announced what new loot can be unlocked during this time, but luckily for us, Guardians have delivered the goods.

So far, Guardians are reporting that the three-win reward includes the Shayura’s Wrath SMG, the five-win being a Class Item, seven-win including a Sword, and Flawless offering an adept Fusion Rifle.

TRIALS OF OSIRIS REWARDS LIST:

  • Three Wins: Shayura’s Wrath Void SMG
  • Five Wins: Class Item
  • Seven Wins: Sola’s Scar Solar Sword
  • Flawless: Exile’s Curse Adept Fusion Rifle

ORIGINAL: Trials of Osiris returns to Destiny 2 today, and this time it will be a little different for those taking on the Crucible event. As usual, returning rewards will be available to those who can string together a generous amount of wins.

The first matches will be kicking off at 6pm BST on Friday, June 4, 2021. These rewards will be available between now and June 8 during the next Weekly Reset. This new loot will be unlocked in the coming hours, but some Guardians might find it harder when taking on the 3-vs-3 match.

This week’s Destiny update made some big changes to how Stasis works across several different classes.

The full list of Stasis changes can be found in the patch notes listed at the bottom of this article, with Bungie confirming last week that the Behemoth generally has the highest win rate of any subclass in most 6v6 game modes and is also among the strongest in 3v3 modes.

Meanwhile, the Revenant’s Crucible win rate, kills per minute, and average efficiency is generally within the top six of all subclass trees, but its usage rate is incredibly high.

So it will be worth checking the latest changes before jumping into Trials of Osiris this week.

Saint-14 is the full-time Trials of Osiris vendor, residing in the Tower Hangar with his pigeons and ship.

And visiting him will be worth it for those who can smash through the Crucible and score some wins as Saint’s inventory updates with Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.

The map rotations continue each week, although Bungie has made changes to the weapons you can pick up during an event.

Last week saw Bungie offer Gauntlets as the three-win weapon, and Shayura’s Wrath Adept Submachine Gun as the Flawless reward.

Season 14 has also seen Bungie release a new weapon as part of Trials, meaning something similar could happen in the coming weeks.

The patch notes for this week’s Destiny 2 Stasis changes can be found below and are now live on PS4, Xbox One, PC and next-gen consoles.

Destiny 2 Xur Location: Where is Xur this week and What is he selling?

Destiny 2 Season 14 is rolling over nicely, and Guardians will soon have access to the latest rewards and loot.

The big question for everyone will be where Xur is this week and what he is selling for Legendary Shards.

The Agent of the Nine can sometimes have the perfect item to take on the latest Raids and events.

The good news is that these latest questions will soon be answered with the return of Xur later today.

Xur will be returning as part of the normal Destiny 2 rotation, and gamers will be waiting until the late morning in North America and evening time in the UK to discover exactly where.

And even then, gamers will have to sweep the various Destiny locations and maps to find out where Xur is.

Bungie decided to drop Xur into the EDZ (European Dead Zone) last week and could be found hanging around the Winding Cove cliffs.

While the Destiny team like to make him easy to find during big events – like the launch of the Vault of Glass – this week could see Xur drop somewhere a little more exotic.

So don’t expect the Agent to be popping up in the Hangar on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

As mentioned above, the return of Xur will allow gamers to trade Legendary Shards for exotics, but only for a short period.

The Destiny 2 Xur location from June 4 until June 8 will be revealed at 6pm BST, and it won’t take long for Guardians to start hunting the Agent of the Nine down.

All the items will be available until the weekly reset is completed and all rituals are wiped.

Last week, Xur was selling The Sweet Business for 29 Legendary Shards, Apotheosis Veil for 23 Legendary Shards, ACD/0 Feedback Fence for 23 Legendary Shards and Lucky Raspberry for 23 Legendary Shards.

For anyone who has forgotten, Legendary Shards used by Xur items are remnants of powerful items that are used to improve gear or trade for other items.

It should also be noted that Xur will be dropping items that are similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that is new to the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he now drops Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher, and last weeks included completing 21 Strikes, or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.

No notable changes have been made to how Xur is found or what can be found in his collection.

Recently, Bungie did make one change, including when Xur’s inventory includes an Exotic armor piece with a perk effect that depends on the use of a particular ability, that armor should more reliably come with a higher stat value in the stat that governs the cooldown of that ability.

No further change are expected to be made regarding Xur trades items during Destiny Season 14.

Destiny 2 Crossplay beta release date confirmed without Vault of Glass friend invites

Plenty of exciting new content has been planned for Season 14, with an official Destiny 2 Crossplay beta release date locked in for this week.

But before everyone gets excited to team up and play through the Vault of Glass Raid together across PS4, Xbox, PC and Google Stadia, Bungie has some disappointing news.

While Crossplay is coming to Destiny 2 this week, it won’t extend to playing VOG in organised fireteams.

Instead, this week’s test will last a concise period and will include a specialised playlist.

This means that gamers across all platforms will be able to play together on one specific activity.

The Vault of Glass will remain available as usual and isn’t expected to open up to crossplay until next season.

Season 15 is when Crossplay is scheduled to be fully integrated into Destiny 2, but that might also be affected by the new betas being held.

Issues with the system during these upcoming tests could force Bungie to change its plans, so a lot could depend on what happens this week.

For now, we know that the next official Destiny 2 Crossplay beta will be released on Tuesday, May 25.

It’s expected that the test across PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and next-gen consoles will begin at 6pm BST, or after the weekly reset.

Everyone who takes part will be award a special cosmetic item, with a new message from Bungie explaining:

“In the early hours of Season of the Splicer, a few of you got your first unfiltered taste of Cross Play. Even though this was caused by a bug, we saw players mingling between platforms, which was awesome! That said, we needed to smash that bug like a subscribe button to get our release back on track.

“While our current goal is for Cross-Play to ship in Season 15, we have a list of things to do before it’s ready, one of which is a Beta starting early next week.

“You are formally invited to the Destiny 2 Cross Play Beta. This will serve as a short, sweet, and important moment in the development of this feature.

“From May 25 through May 27, a unique Vanguard Strikes Cross Play Beta playlist will be available to all players in Destiny 2. You’ll be matchmade with Guardians playing on PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Stadia. As you fight through the enemy waves of Darkness, our teams will be scouring data and preforming a multitude of actions to test the integrity of our upcoming Cross Play system.

“As a token of our appreciation for your time, any players who complete three strikes in the Vanguard Strikes Cross Play Beta playlist will be rewarded with the unique “Stars Crossed” emblem.”

Bungie has confirmed that the Destiny 2 Cross Play Beta will be restricted to one matchmade activity.

And that means Guardians won’t be able to form a fireteam just yet and there will be no way to send invites to friends.

This test is focused on getting the most from the Destiny 2 matchmaking system but that doesn’t mean there won’t be more tests in the future.

Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Raid time includes big release date surprise and rewards

It won’t be long before Guardians are running through one of the original Destiny raid experiences when the Vault of Glass reopens this week.

The Vault of Glass Raid time has been set for 6pm BST on May 22, with Bungie kicking everything off with Contest Mode, which will be enabled for 24 hours.

Bungie says they have tweaked the original raid, but it will remain very familiar to those who remember it.

The story isn’t changing, but there will be differences for veterans to discover when playing this weekend on PS4, Xbox One, PC and next-gen consoles.

The Vault of Glass will also remain a race for those interested in trying to be one of the first to complete it.

But this will only be achieved by completing each encounter in Challenge Mode – unlocked after Contest mode – while also finishing a curated list of Triumphs.

A message from Bungie explains: “Our goal was to keep the feeling similar to how you remember, but we have made some updates to bring this content up to Destiny 2 standards.

“The first Fireteam of 6 to complete the Vault of Glass raid then complete the Vault of Glass Challenge Mode and claim the Tempo’s Edge Triumph will be declared World First by Bungie from @Bungie on Twitter after verification from our analytics team.

“If a Fireteam cycled through different members during their attempt, the final 6 remaining upon the completion of the final encounter of the Challenge Mode activity where at least one member of the Fireteam claims the Tempo’s Edge Triumph will be declared the winners and be awarded raid World First title belts.

“The Fireteam must loot the final chest before returning to Orbit and claim the Triumph or their finish may not be recorded. A team’s official finish will be recorded when they return to Orbit.”

But while much will be staying the same, there will be one key difference that might surprise Guardians this week.

Bungie has confirmed that they will be limiting what gear can be used when taking on the D2 Vault of Glass.

The Hunter Exotic “Star-Eater Scales” will be disabled for the first 24 hours of Vault of Glass being live, which could throw a spanner in the works for some.

Bungie says its development team has discovered an issue where some abilities were being granted a bit more damage than intended.

This means that during a race to come first, such an advantage cannot be available.

“We don’t want Hunters to take this race like they did Guardian Games, so we’ll be putting this exotic on a short time out. Plan ahead, and make sure you have another pair of pants infused to appropriate power levels before heading in to the raid.”

WHAT TIME IS THE DESTINY 2 VAULT OF GLASS RAID STARTING?

Bungie has confirmed that the Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Raid start time has been set for Saturday, May 22, at 6pm BST.

For Guardians in North America, that means jumping in with your fireteam at 10am PDT across all platforms.

Exclusive rewards will be available to those who can complete the raid in the quickest time, but there will also be plenty of other stuff for those who don’t make the cut.

VAULT OF GLASS ARMOUR AND REWARDS

Ring Quest – Guardians who complete the Vault of Glass before May 25, 2021 9:59 AM PDT will unlock the Vault of Glass Raid Ring for purchase from the Bungie Store.

Jacket Quest – Guardians who complete the Vault of Glass by June 1, 2021 9:59 AM PDT will unlock the Vault of Glass Raid Jacket for purchase from the Bungie Store.

And while it hasn’t been confirmed yet, each Vault of Glass encounter is expected to reward gamers with two armour pieces and three weapons.

Destiny 2 Xur Location: Where is Xur today and what's new in Season 14?

Xur returns to Destiny 2 today with a new bag of loot that will be available from one of the game’s many locations.

His precise whereabouts will be revealed this evening for Guardians to find on PS4, Xbox One, PC and next-gen consoles.

The next couple of days will allow gamers to trade Legendary Shards for exotics, although the full list has not been revealed.

The Destiny 2 Xur location from May 14 until May 18 will be revealed at 6pm BST, and it won’t take long for Guardians to start hunting the Agent of the Nine down.

All the items will be available until the weekly reset is completed and all rituals are wiped.

Last week, Xur was easy to find, hanging out in The Tower behind Dead Orbit, bringing with him the Skyburner’s Oath, Mask of the Quiet One, Gwisin’s Vest: Legendary, and Vesper of Radius.

Bungie has confirmed that at least one change has been made to Xur for Season 14, although it won’t be something you can spot straight away.

It’s been confirmed that when Xur’s inventory includes an Exotic armor piece with a perk effect that depends on the use of a particular ability, that armor piece should more reliably come with a higher stat value in the stat that governs the cooldown of that ability.

Xur is expected back in the game around the same time the Trials of Osiris returns on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Trials is a Crucible event that rewards fireteams that can string together wins, with at least one Adept weapon included, which are usually only made available for those who can score Flawless run.

And while Xur will offer exotics for gamers to buy, more are available to unlock during Season 14.

A recent post from Bungie explains: “On the Seasonal Track, there will be three weapons to earn. Season Pass owners will unlock the new Exotic Sidearm on day-one of the Season as soon as they claim their first reward. Additionally, the new Shotgun and Heavy Machine Gun will be up for grabs as you level up.

“If you want a full loadout of this style, we’ve got you covered. New weapons will be available through Umbral Engrams and Override completions.

“Outside of Override, there’s even more Legendary loot to claim. To start, you’ll receive a new quest to earn the Null Composure Fusion Rifle. Once the weapon is unlocked, you can collect Gambit, Crucible, and Vanguard themed weapon ornaments to further customize your style.”

Destiny 2 Crossplay ends today with server maintenance and Bungie update

A new hotfix being released today has two goals; removing login issues and taking away Destiny 2 crossplay.

Bungie revealed as much on Twitter, confirming that the current server maintenance would end with the scrubbing of Destiny Crossplay support.

The feature was coming to all platforms later this year and was accidentally turned on as part of the Season 14 launch.

A message from the Bungie support team explained earlier this week: “We are seeing reports that some players are able to get a sneak peek at Crossplay.

“This isn’t meant to be live yet and is not representative of the full experience. We will be implementing a fix to remove public access later this week, but in the meantime, feel free to partake.”

And it looks like today is that time when Destiny 2 Crossplay will end across PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

“This maintenance is intended to resolve an issue where Destiny 2 crashed for some players when signing in.

“This maintenance will also resolve an issue where some players were inadvertently able to view players on other platforms.”

The patch notes for today’s update includes only these two items, and can be found below:

GENERAL

  • Fixed an issue that was causing some players to crash when signing in.
  • Fixed an issue where some players were able to access Cross Play early.

More news regarding the return of Destiny 2 crossplay is expected to be shared later this year by Bungie.

Destiny 2 Season Pass issues, Season 14 servers news: Bungie offers PS4 update

Today’s Destiny 2 Season 14 update has been released, and Bungie is offering guidance to those who are having issues.

Server issues left many unable to play after Destiny maintenance was completed, and while most can now download the new patch, others are still having problems.

The new Destiny 2 Season Pass can be purchased now from the Eververse Store in-game and costs 1,000 Silver.

But some are unable to complete the process and get access to the full Season Pass. The good news is that Bungie knows about the issues and is looking to fix them tonight.

A message from the Bungie support team provides this latest update on the situation: “We are continuing to investigate issues regarding players being unable to purchase the Season Pass.

However, having looked into the problem, Bungie has so far worked out that the issues are only linked to one platform, adding:

“We’ve identified that this is only affecting players on the PlayStation platform. Until we can resolve this issue, players may want to log into another platform (via Cross Save) to purchase the Season Pass.

“Players who set up Cross-Save should choose their main characters they want to play Destiny 2 with, NOT the platform that they want to play on.”

It should be noted that those who own the Digital Deluxe version of Destiny 2: Beyond Light already have access to the Season Pass.

There is a free version of the Season Pass that is open to everyone but this only includes a very limited number of cosmetics to unlock.

Armour Synthesis is also free to everyone and brings transmog to Destiny by unlocking the power to create a Universal Ornament from any piece of armour in a Guardian’s possession.

Season Pass owners will also get immediate access to the Exotic Stasis Sidearm Cryosthesia 77K, Season-specific Universal Ornaments, XP boosts that will speed up Seasonal rank gains and unlocks along their reward track, and more.

Further rewards confirmed for the Season Pass includes the following:

  • Exotic Stasis Sidearm: As a token of friendship, Mithrax bestows Guardians with Cryosthesia 77k, a Stasis-powered Sidearm with Liquid Cooling tech.
  • Splicer Gauntlet: Sacred Splicer tech that can be charged with Ether and used to hack the Vex Network, access Conflux Chests, and unlock Splicer upgrades.
  • Universal Ornaments: Unlock the new Season of the Splicer Universal Ornaments and augment the look of any piece of armour in your collection.
The official Bungie guide on the Season Pass adds this: “A Destiny 2 Season continues the overall evolving world of Destiny 2 after Destiny 2: Beyond Light with its own unique story, activity, and gear.

“A Season Pass gives players access to a specific Season. A Season Pass can be purchased from the “Seasons” tab of the Director map. You can purchase all Seasons (approx. one year of content) in our Destiny 2: Beyond Light Digital Deluxe Edition.

“The end date of the currently active Season is displayed in-game in the “Seasons” section of the Director map.

“In Year 4 of Destiny 2, beginning in November 2020, some seasonal content will persist beyond its Season if players own the Season Pass for that Season, such as the Season of the Hunt’s Wrathborn Hunts, weapon quests, and story missions.”

Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer is Now Live

The Vex have attacked and, for the first time in humanity’s history, the Sun did not rise.

Trapped in this endless night by an unknown Vex simulation, the Vanguard have focused their gaze on an unlikely ally – one who can hopefully guide Guardians in their response to the Vex incursion. That ally is Mithrax, Kell of the House of Light.

In addition to being a Kell who leads a small group of Eliksni refugees, Mithrax is also one of the last Sacred Splicers. A rare group who have mastered the ability to commune with machines, see the Light within the code, and even manipulate it.

In exchange for his help, he only asks for one thing: Access to the City for him and his followers who wish to be closer to their god, The Traveler. Ikora dispatches Guardians to meet with Mithrax on Europa, broker the alliance, and embark on a journey into the unknown.

Welcome to Season of the Splicer.

Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer

Crash the Network

We’re excited for players to harness Splicer technology and adventure through the new synthetic landscape created for this Season. It’s unlike anything we’ve done before and we think the Season’s tone and aesthetic will really resonate with old and new players alike.

To crack the mystery that kicks off the Season, players will have to find answers in the heart of the Vex Network. Although built in a coded and mysterious language, Mithrax will teach players to traverse the Network and use their power to crash it from the inside. These expeditions into the Network take place in two new Seasonal activities: Override and Expunge.

Override: This is the new six-player matchmade offensive that challenges players to infiltrate the Vex Network, steal their code, and use it against them. Starting on Europa, multiple destinations will unlock throughout the Season.

Expunge: This is a new pinnacle activity for one to three players. Each week, players will embark on missions to expose vulnerabilities within the Vex Network. This mission is altered every week as the Seasonal story unfolds.

Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer

Upgrade Your Tech

Upon meeting with Mithrax, Guardians will receive a Splicer Gauntlet that will allow them to absorb Ether, secure Splicer upgrades, and unlock chests. There’s also a new space in the H.E.L.M. that players can visit to plan their attack, take on challenges, and claim rewards.

There are also over 30 new and reprised weapons to collect, new Exotic armor pieces for each class, and 100+ Seasonal ranks to unlock.

Season Pass holders will also instantly unlock an Exotic Stasis Sidearm that charges up liquid cooling coils with every shot. Once powered up, the next charged shot freezes the target in Stasis.

Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer

Assault the Vault

Get those calendars updated because on May 22, Vault of Glass returns.

The first raid ever released in the Destiny franchise is making its Destiny 2 debut. Faithful to the original, it’s been revamped and is ready to challenge veterans and new players alike. Upgraded to make the most of the new sandbox technology, the fan-favorite raid makes its return… absolutely free for all players.

As with every Destiny 2 raid, the joy of triumphing over the most challenging encounters in the game is only part of the reward. The rest are rewards players can wear (in-game and in real life). In addition to the Vex Mythoclast Exotic Fusion Rifle, there are stunning weapons and armor to collect, and new Bungie Rewards to unlock like the Vault of Glass raid jacket and ring.

Tune in to the World First race, get your fireteam ready, and fight your way through the Vault. Atheon, Time’s Conflux, awaits.

Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer

Leave a Lasting Impression

Customizing our Guardians has always been core to Destiny 2. Coming up with distinct looks for each subclass or playing off an Exotic we’re using, it’s a cool way to show off your character’s individuality and leave a lasting impression with the people you meet in game.

And even though the fashion scene has been alive and well, Season of the Splicer will introduce players to a new Guardian Appearance system that takes customization to the next level. Coupled with changes to the shaders and the introduction of Armor Synthesis, the tools to craft a Guardian’s style have never been more powerful.

Guardian Appearance

Previously, players would interact with their Guardian’s look from the main character screen – clicking into each individual armor piece to inspect it and alter its appearance with shaders and Universal Ornaments. Those days are gone.

Now there’s a new screen devoted to customizing your Guardian’s look. Access your entire set of armor from one screen with information about your current shaders and ornaments available at a glance. Think of it like a dressing room for your Guardian.

This powerful and flexible new system means it’s never been easier to manage all the armor and shaders in your collection. And your collection is about to get a lot more impressive…

Armor Synthesis

Ever see a piece of armor and wish you could use it like a Universal Ornament – applying its look to the armor you’re wearing? Well, now you can.

With the help of Ada-1, Guardians can forge new Universal Ornaments from most of the armor in Destiny 2 using Synthweave, a new currency available from playing a variety of activities. There’s also bonus Synthweave everyone can grab for free by playing through the Armor Synthesis introductory questline.

Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer

Future’s So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades

Before Season of the Splicer, shaders were individual items in your inventory that players would have to manage. Run out of a shader? There was a different Collections area where players could purchase whichever shader they wanted for Glimmer and/or Legendary Shards. This purchased shader would then be added to your inventory to be used.

Starting this Season, this process has been massively streamlined. Now, shaders are now permanent unlocks that can be applied to any item for 500 Glimmer from a single screen. Players simply click the shader they want from their Guardian Appearance menu and voila, style points +1.

To celebrate this change and help everyone dress for success, we’re adding a bundle to Eververse for Glimmer (not Silver) that contains a bunch of shaders from the early days which players may have missed.

Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer

Season of the Splicer Starts Today

Running from May 11 to August 24, there’s more going on that I didn’t get a chance to speak about, including the Solstice of Heroes free event. And remember that if you picked up Season of the Chosen, the Battlegrounds activity is still available in the H.E.L.M. for the rest of the year.

Check out the full calendar, message your fireteam, and plan your Season. Destiny 2 is free to play, and all its expansions are available on Xbox Games Pass. I hope you join us as we virtually flip synthwave tables throughout the Vex Network all Season long.

Destiny 2 patch notes: Full Season of the Splicer changes revealed

Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer promises gamers the chance to unlock new weapons, find old ones, run the Vault of Glass from the original game, and hack the Vex Network from the inside in the new six-player seasonal Override activity.

It also comes complete with the new Splicer quest, which will see Guardians taking on the threat of the Vex throughout Season 14.

A message from Bungie adds: “The Vex threaten the safety of all who inhabit the Last City, plunging humanity’s sanctuary into an endless night. Guardians must team up Mithrax, Kell of the House of Light, who will teach them the ways of a Sacred Splicer. It’s up to the Vanguard to harness new Splicer tech to take down the simulation and restore sunlight.

“During Season of the Splicer, Guardians will hack the Vex simulation in the six-player matchmade activity Override to uncover secrets and steal Vex code. Additionally, Guardians will be able to run the weekly pinnacle mission Expunge, where they will uncover and exploit vulnerabilities in the Vex Network to collapse it from the inside.

“On May 22, Guardians will once again be able to infiltrate the iconic Vault of Glass (VoG) raid. For the uninitiated, VoG sees Guardians navigate fractures in time and space to find Atheon, Time’s Conflux. The mysterious Vex awaits deep within the vault and must be shut down before it becomes unstoppable. This is not just a straight port, with quality-of-life changes introduced to make VoG feel more in line with player’s expectations today, as well as new challenges and triumphs and some old favorites waiting to be earned.”

Destiny 2 servers are down and unavailable – How long is D2 Maintenance today?

Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 servers are down today so that they can perform maintenance before the start of Season 14.

Annoyingly for fans of the hit shooter, maintenance began just before Xur and Trials of Osiris began, meaning there will be less time to play them this week.

And there is no way for Bungie to extend both events as Season 14 will be going live on Tuesday, May 11.

The good news is that Destiny 2 servers will only be down for few hours and should be back online before the end of the day.

A new post from Bungie provides the latest information, telling fans: “Destiny 2 is being brought offline for expected maintenance.

“At 2 PM PDT (2100 UTC), players will be able to log back into Destiny 2. Ongoing maintenance is expected to conclude at 3 PM (2200 UTC).”

For gamers in the UK, this means that Destiny 2 servers will be back online at 10pm BST, on May 7.

It should be noted that while there is Maintenance being conducted today, there will still need to be another period of downtime on May 11.

This is so Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer can commence, and will also mean gamers will need to download a new patch.

Early patch notes for next week’s Destiny Season 14 launch can be found below:
