Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards and loot report ahead of Season 14 release

The latest Destiny Trials event is launching soon and will include the next round of armour pieces and Adept weapon options.

May 7 will see Guardians return to battling in 3vs3 Crucibles with a chance of unlocking the best Flawless loot.

Gamers will have to wait a little longer to learn the complete list of Destiny 2 rewards that will be available between now and May 11.

Destiny 2 fans will need to check back into the game at around 6pm BST to find out the latest news, including what map has been selected by Bungie.

For the end of Season 13, Saint-14 will remain the full-time Trials of Osiris vendor, residing in the Tower Hangar with his pigeons and ship.

And visiting him will be worth it for those who can smash through the Crucible and score some wins as Saint’s inventory updates with Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.

Last week saw Bungie offer The Exile’s Curse Fusion Rifle as a three-win weapon, and the Adept version of the same weapon as the Flawless reward.

Meanwhile, we won’t know the map selection until Trials of Osiris is back, and it will take a while for Guardians to work out the loot list.

That’s because Bungie doesn’t share what rewards are included in the Trials across any platforms.

Instead, it’s up to gamers to share the full list of loot that will be available from today, until the Weekly Reset on May 11.

This will also be the date that Bungie launches Destiny 2 Season 14 – Season of the Splicer.

The development team released a new rewards preview this week for the upcoming season, which will be dominated by Vex-smashing action.

“Loot is the name of the game for many a Guardian, so let’s get down to business. We’ll be working with the Fallen this Season, and we’ve got new armour pieces to earn. If you’ve ever wanted to embrace the Splicer lifestyle, this Season will be your chance.

“Previously, you would earn this armour by levelling your Season Rank and unlocking new pieces on the Seasonal Track. Moving forward, Seasonal Armor will be earned from Seasonal activities.

“You’ll also be able to guarantee pieces from these sets using Focused Umbral Engrams. Season Rank levels that once featured armour have been updated with packages of Glimmer, Legendary Shards, Upgrade Modules, Exotic Engrams, Enhancement Cores, and Enhancement Prisms. Universal Armor Ornaments will continue to be earned towards the end of the Season Pass.

“Now, let’s talk tools of destruction. There’s still gold to find in them Seasonal Rank hills. On the Seasonal Track, there will be three weapons to earn. Season Pass owners will unlock the new Exotic Sidearm on day one of the Season as soon as they claim their first reward. Additionally, the new Shotgun and Heavy Machine Gun will be up for grabs as you level up.

“If you want a full loadout of this style, we’ve got you covered. New weapons will be available through Umbral Engrams and Override completions.”

Expect more news regarding the new Season of Destiny 2 in the coming weeks from Bungie for PS4, Xbox One and PC gamers.

Destiny 2 Xur Location: Where is Xur today and what is he selling in May?

Xur is coming back to Destiny 2 today, with his precise location set to be revealed this evening for Guardians on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

A new range of exotics will be coming to the game that can be traded for Legendary Shards, although we won’t know what will be included until later.

The Destiny 2 Xur location from May 7 until May 11 will be revealed at 6pm BST, and it won’t take long for Guardians to start hunting the Agent of the Nine down.

Xur will be sticking around until Tuesday, when the Weekly Reset is completed and all rituals are wiped.

This will be when the current Season will end and the Season of the Splicer will begin across all platforms.

Last week, Xur was easy to find, hanging out in The Tower behind Dead Orbit, offering up the likes of the Arbalest Kinetic linear fusion rifle, the Graviton Forfeit, the Astrocyte Verse, and Mk. 44 Stand Asides.

For anyone who has forgotten, Legendary Shards used by Xur items are remnants of powerful items that are used to improve gear or trade for other items.

It should also be noted that Xur will be dropping items that are similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that is new to the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he now drops Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher, and last weeks included completing 21 Strikes, or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.

There should be around six items included in Xur’s store, although some of them might not be available to buy.

Xur is expected back in the game around the same time the Trials of Osiris returns on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Trials is a Crucible event that rewards fireteams that can string together wins, with at least one Adept weapon included, which are usually only made available for those who can score Flawless run.

And when Xur disappears and the Trials of Osiris event ends, Bungie will be launching Season 14 of Destiny 2.

Plenty of new rewards are being planned for May, with Bungie telling fans this week:

“For the endgame focused Guardians out there, three familiar weapons will be up for grabs. We have no doubt the Destiny 1 veterans among you will recall these legends in an instant.

“Like last Season, each weapon will be on a weekly rotation in Nightfall playlists. Upping the difficulty will give you a higher drop chance as you search for desired rolls. Starting June 22, Grandmaster Nightfalls will become available, introducing Adept versions of each weapon.

“Now, here’s the part where we say, “and more.” There are still more weapons left for you to discover as you play.

“Some of the best feelings in Destiny are those moments where you uncover a sweet weapon with the perfect perk combination.

“Want an Auto Rifle that gains extra damage after defeating an enemy with a grenade? How about a Sniper that’s quick on the draw, but can also be rolled with Dragonfly? Every Season invites interesting choices and new playstyles.”

Destiny 2 Splicer: Season 14 release date and start time revealed

Bungie has announced its plans to launch Destiny 2 Season of the Splicer on Tuesday, May 11.

This will be a unified release, meaning Guardians on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and next-gen consoles will start playing simultaneously.

Destiny 2 Season 14 will include a brand new story where Guardians will be tasked with stopping the Vex, which will mean dipping back into the Vault of Glass Raid.

The Vault will feel very familiar to fans, but there will be some notable differences, with Bungie telling fans:

“Our goal is to not fundamentally evolve this raid into something completely new. So, this will be the first race (outside of previous hard modes) where players have a broad understanding of what to expect while still encountering changes they’ll have to adapt to.

“Vault of Glass will launch with Contest Mode enabled for 24 hours. You will need to be at 1300 Power to be at the cap for all of the encounters.

“Clearing Vault of Glass with Contest Mode active is the first step to access the new Challenge Mode in the Director and the Tempo’s Edge Triumph.

“Completing Tempo’s Edge, a curated list of Triumphs, in this newly unlocked Challenge Mode, will be how a fireteam crosses the World First finish line and claims their prize.

“To enforce the Triumph requirements in the Challenge Mode, your team will wipe if you fail the success conditions during each encounter.”

Guardians will also need to hack the Vex Network from the inside as part of the new six-player seasonal Override activity, earn new gear, and more.

“The Vex threaten the safety of all who inhabit the Last City, plunging humanity’s sanctuary into an endless night.

“Guardians must team up Mithrax, Kell of of the House of Light, who will teach them the ways of a Sacred Splicer. It’s up to the Vanguard to harness new Splicer tech to take down the simulation and restore sunlight.”

Bungie has scheduled the Destiny 2 Season 14 release date for Tuesday, May 11, 2021.

And as this will be happening during the weekly reset, we can expect the Season of the Splicer to start at around 6pm BST.

This will be followed by the return of the Vault of Glass on May 22, complete with new content.

Season 14 will also see the launch of Armor Synthesis, Destiny’s transmog system, which allow Guardians to create a Universal Ornament from any piece of armour in a Guardian’s possession.

Season Pass owners will also get immediate access to the Exotic Stasis Sidearm Cryosthesia 77K, Season-specific Universal Ornaments, XP boosts that will speed up Seasonal rank gains and unlocks along their reward track.

The Guardian Games Return in Destiny 2

Author Brenton Woodrow, Design Lead, Bungie
This post originally appeared on Xbox Wire

Summary

  • Free event for all players running from April 20 to May 11.
  • Event-exclusive items to collect like the Exotic Heir Apparent and its new catalyst, a new Exotic Sparrow, shaders, emblems, and more.
  • Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters compete for the top spot on the podium, bragging rights, and a trophy that will stand in the Tower for the rest of the year.

Guardians are born for challenge. Whether learning to master the dark power of Stasis or staring down the enemies of humanity, time and again Guardians rise to the occasion. Starting today through May 9, Destiny 2 players will be facing a different kind of test: upholding the good standing of their favorite Guardian class. The Guardian Games have returned for 2021 and Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters will answer the call in this free event available to all Destiny 2 players on Xbox.

At its heart, the Guardian Games is a celebration of the spirit of Guardians everywhere. In Destiny 2, the time is right for such a celebration. The Vanguard has reached a cease-fire with the Cabal and their empress Caiatl. The citizens of the Last City are desperate for a ray of light amidst the recent darkness and Commander Zavala, determined to make the most of this moment of respite, calls for the flags to be raised and the games to begin.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games

For the next three weeks, the three Guardian classes will compete in challenges throughout the solar system, with the goal of placing their class on the top step of the podium each week. Along the way, Destiny 2 players will earn great rewards including exotic and legendary weapons and gear, and more.

Medal Count

Participating in the Guardian Games starts by visiting a familiar friend. Eva Levante has returned to the Tower to shepherd players through the competitive festivities. Players can grab their class-specific item required for participation, as well as a medal case which holds the medals and laurels they collect from their adventures throughout the solar system.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games

Players earn medals by completing activities – basic activities reward players bronze medals, while more challenging activities like Nightfalls give silver medals. Gold and platinum medals come from a new source which Eva has on-hand this year: Contender Cards. These cards can be purchased from Eva for laurels and challenge Guardians to complete additional high-level goals (such as gaining a certain amount of melee or primary kills) while completing activities.

Turn in bronze, silver, gold, and platinum medals to collect rewards, such as the Exotic Machine Gun Heir Apparent and its new catalyst, an Exotic Sparrow, legendary weapons, as well as shaders and emblems. All turned-in medals also count towards each class’ overall standings in the Guardian Games. The more valuable the medal, the more progress players can earn for their class.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games

Closing Ceremonies

Each week ends with one class victorious, based on their performance throughout the week. Members of that class will earn an aura they can equip until reset of the following week. During the weekend of May 7, players will be treated to the 2021 Guardian Games closing ceremonies where the final podium positions will be announced, complete with fireworks in the Tower and a trophy commemorating the top class of the games for the rest of the year.

The flags are raised, and the decorations are hung throughout the Tower. The citizens of the Last City are looking to Guardians to rise to the challenge once again and compete for the glory of their class. Let’s give them a good show!

Destiny 2 is available to play today with Xbox Game Pass on console and is Optimized for Xbox Series X|S.

Destiny 2 Weekly Reset: Guardian Games start time for April 20

Bungie will be ending its latest Xur and Trials of Osiris event and replacing it with the Guardian Games straight after the Destiny 2 Weekly Reset.

The good news is that there is still plenty of time to do everything you need before the latest activities end.

Each Tuesday, rituals and activities have their progression and rewards reset, and Bungie also chooses this time to release new content.

The development team also takes servers offline regularly on Tuesdays; however, this week’s maintenance will not affect Guardians.

The Destiny 2 Weekly Reset is always locked in for 6pm BST, which is when the next event kicks off on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The Guardian Games returns after the Weekly Reset, which will be available from April 20 and May 11.

Guardian Games is an event for all Destiny 2 players to celebrate their favourite class as they compete against one another to see whose class reigns supreme.

The winning team will have bragging rights, as well as a commemorative statue on display in the Tower for the entire year.

As confirmed by Bungie, Titans dominated the last Guardian Games, earning more medals from Eva Levante by completing Contender Cards and Triumphs than all others.

This year, each week will offer a new chance to be recognized as the top class in the Games.

A message from Bungie adds: “Each weekly podium ceremony will grant Guardians with distinctive gold, silver, or bronze auras, which will last the rest of the week. The winning class will be recognized at the Guardian Games Closing Ceremonies (May 7-11), complete with resplendent fireworks and a trophy displayed in the Tower all year long.

“Winning is its own reward, but equipping a powerful Exotic is even better. Earn the Heir Apparent Exotic Machine Gun and its catalyst, an Exotic Sparrow, plus Legendary class items (one per class), two emblems, and a pair of shaders.”

Medals have the following values: Bronze: 1 Point, Silver: 2 Points, Gold: 5 Points, and Platinum: 15 Points.

Bungie is still accounting for the different class population, and this year the class that comes in third place each day gets a permanent 10% bonus on scoring going forward.

And the dev team has tested this new scoring system by using last year’s data and the development team are hoping that this year’s Guardian Games will be more competitive.

This will mean different classes winning throughout the event. Hunters will likely win early on because of their population advantage but as the bonuses kick in, the competition should tighten up quickly.

Guardians will also notice a new playlist is in place for this year’s Destiny 2 event that will group players together by class. This feeds into the Laurel collecting mechanic where players have a chance at bonus Laurels when they pick up a Laurel generated by a player of the same class.

Bungie adds in a statement: “This new playlist will have gameplay modifiers added based on the previous day’s class standing. Classes will get a beneficial modifier tied to gold, silver, and bronze placement.

“Gold: Health, shields, and recovery are increased. Kinetic weapons deal more damage.

“Silver: Melee abilities recharge faster. Elemental damage increased from Guardian sources. More Heavy ammo available.

“Bronze: Grenade abilities deal more damage and recharge much faster. Elemental damage increased from Guardian sources.”

Destiny 2 Xur Location: Where is Xur today and what is he selling this week?

The Destiny 2 Xur location is about to be revealed, and it won’t be long before we know what new exotic items he has.

For now, Guardians will have to wait a little longer to have the full list of items and free quests to complete.

The Destiny 2 Xur location for April 16 until April 20 will be revealed at 6pm BST, and this will be when Guardians will start hunting the Agent of the Nine down.

Xur will be available until the weekly reset, which happens every Tuesday, meaning you have plenty of time to check out what is available in the next location.

Last week, Xur could be found on the Winding cove cliffs in the EDZ, offering up the likes of The Prospector Heavy Grenade Launcher, Wormhusk Crown Hunter Helmet, Felwinter’s Helm Warlock Helmet, and Mk. 44 Stand Asides Titan Leg Armor.

Trials is a Crucible event that rewards fireteams that can string together wins, with at least one Adept weapon included.

Adept weapons are usually only made available for those who can score Flawless run, with Bungie explaining:

“Saint-14 is the Trials of Osiris vendor, residing full time in the Tower Hangar with his pigeons and ship.

“When the Trials of Osiris playlist becomes active each week from Friday to Tuesday, Saint’s inventory will update with Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.

“There are five unique Passages that can be bought from Saint-14 which offer their own mechanics.

“Each Passage will track wins and losses in a single Trials run. If three losses appear on a Passage, players will be restricted from the activity and have to either reset the Passage or purchase a new one.”

Trials of Osiris and Xur will be disappearing from Destiny 2 on April 20, which is when the Guardian Games event will be returning.

This year, medals will have the following values: Bronze: 1 Point, Silver: 2 Points, Gold: 5 Points, Platinum: 15 Points.

Destiny 2 Xur Location: Where is Xur and what is he selling today?

The weekly update that brings Destiny 2’s Xur to a new location is about to happen, and it won’t be long before we know what new exotic items he has.

For now, Guardians will have to wait until 6pm BST to find out exactly where Xur has spawned, with the Agent of the Nine not scheduled to depart until the next reset.

This happens every Tuesday, meaning you have plenty of time to check out what is available in the next Xur location.

Last week, Xur could be found on Nessus, perching in a big tree located near Watcher’s Grave.

Legendary Shards could be used to buy several top items, including the Arbalest Kinetic fusion rifle, the Orpheus Rig Hunter armour, and Lion Rampant Titan leg armour.

For anyone who has forgotten, Legendary Shards are remnants of powerful items that are used to improve gear or trade for other items.

It should also be noted that Xur will be dropping items that are similar in power level to your character.

And another part of Xur that is new to the latest version of Destiny 2 is that he now drops Cipher Quests for free.

The Quest will reward you with an exotic Cipher and last weeks included completing 21 Strikes, or winning the same number of Crucible or Gambit matches.

Every week, Guardians can acquire one Exotic Engram using Legendary Shards that will decrypt as Exotics that aren’t already in your collection.

A further explanation from Bungie on the different kinds of Engram available in-game adds: “The blue Encrypted Engrams will grant “Rare” equipment. These engrams normally are decrypted upon pickup.

“The purple Legendary Engrams will grant “Legendary” equipment. Like the blue engrams, most Legendary Engrams will be decrypted without the need to visit a Cryptarch.

“The yellow Exotic Engram will grant “Exotic” equipment which all weapons and gear have a special unique perk. Like the Legendary Engrams, they will be decrypted upon pick up.

“The shiny purple Prime Engram can be decrypted to a higher level gear until the soft level cap. Unlike the other Engrams, Prime engrams must be decrypted by a Cryptarch.”

So when we do know where Xur is, we should be looking at around six new items to buy with Legendary Shards.

Today will also see the start of the next Trials of Osiris event, with more loot and armour being offered to those who can string together enough wins to unlock them in the Crucible.

Both the Trials and Xur will be available until Tuesday, April 13, with Bungie not hanging around to launch the next big PVP event for Guardians.

One of the last Season of the Chosen Iron Banners will be going live straight after Xur disappear for another few days, reappearing on April 16.

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards news this week come with a future update

This week’s Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris will be kicking off very soon, complete with the latest armour pieces and weapons.

The event has undergone some changes since its return and has had more success in drawing gamers back each week.

And while we don’t know what combo of Trials of Osiris rewards will be made available today, we know when it will be best to check it all out.

Bungie confirmed earlier in Season of the Chosen, Saint-14 is the full-time Trials of Osiris vendor, residing in the Tower Hangar with his pigeons and ship.

And visiting him will be worth it for those who can smash through the Crucible and score some wins as Saint’s inventory updates with Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.

Some things have also stayed the same, with Bungie making sure that the Trials of Osiris playlist becomes active each week from Friday to Tuesday.

The map rotations continue each week, although Bungie has made changes to the weapons you can pick up during an event.

Last week saw both The Messenger and The Adept Messenger weapons made available.

The normal Messenger could be unlocked by putting together three wins, the fancier Adept version needed a flawless run of seven wins.

We don’t know what new rewards will be added to the roster this week, but we do know that gamers will want to check back at 5pm BST for the latest news.

Bungie never shares a full list of rewards but it won’t take Guardians long to blitz through the Crucible and share the news.

The development team behind the hit shooter has also confirmed how they plan to make changes to Trials Of Osiris during Season 14.

This includes tweaks being made to perks like Celerity, with Bungie confirming this list:

Nightfall weapons:

  • Bottomless Grief grants a permanently active +30 to Magazine.
  • Bottomless Grief is now a fixed alternate perk in the left column on Adept drops of Nightfall weapons (i.e. you can switch between that and the randomly rolled perk in the inspection screen).

Trials weapons:

  • Celerity grants a permanently active +20 to both Reload and Handling.
  • Celerity is now a fixed alternate perk in the right column on Adept drops of Trials weapons (i.e. you can switch between that and the randomly rolled perk in the inspection screen).
  • Moving forward, we’re not done with origin perks, and hope to have something that better achieved our goals in a future release.
Speaking more about the upcoming changes and what can’t be done, Bungie added that there were limitation in what can be done to make them more intrinsic to Trials and Nightfall weapons, adding:

“For performance reasons, we have a maximum number of perks that can run on a character at a time. Legendary weapons have a threshold per weapon, and many of them are right at the limit – adding a perk on top of that without taking one away causes Bad Things to Happen, in the form of random parts of perks turning off.

“Adding a new perk column to weapons from a specific source introduces power creep, and pretty soon we’d end up having to do the same to weapons from other sources.

“Adding a new perk column to ONLY Adept weapons would work against the third goal of Adept weapons, and we believe would feel bad for players dying to Adept weapons that are able to stack Celerity with things like Outlaw and Rampage.”
