Princess Diana was ‘devastated’ on eve of wedding after Prince Charles’ shocking confession

Princess Diana had second thoughts about her marriage up until the eve of the wedding day, after a shocking confession made by her fiancé, Prince Charles.

The Prince of Wales, who had already confused Diana with his “whatever love means” remark during their engagement interview, sent her another hint about their future tumultuous marriage on the night before their wedding, reports The Mirror. The Princess’ astrologer, Penny Thornton, revealed in a newly-released documentary that Charles told Diana that he didn’t love her the night before the wedding, because he “did not want to go into the marriage on a false promise.”

“One of the most shocking things that Diana told me was that the night before the wedding Charles told her that he didn’t love her. I think Charles didn’t want to go into the wedding on a false premise. He wanted to square it with her and it was devastating for Diana,” Thornton said on ITV documentary: “The Diana Interview: Revenge Of A Princess.”

At that moment, the future Princess of Wales considered calling off the wedding despite the months of preparations that went into it and the number of esteemed guests that had travelled from all across the world to attend it. Thornton recalled, “She didn’t want to go through with the wedding at that point, she thought about not attending the wedding.”

Ignoring the concerns, Diana went ahead with the wedding the next day. Royal author Penny Junor recently revealed that Prince Charles had sent her a note on the eve of the wedding, giving her encouragement for the next day. Junor describes the incident in her book about the Prince’s second wife Camilla, who was married to Andrew Parker-Bowles at the time of his wedding to Diana around 40 years ago.

The heir apparent was 32 at the time, while his bride had just turned 20. Diana was understandably nervous hours before the ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral, and to ease her tensions, her future husband sent her a secret note offering sweet advice to the young bride.

“The night before the wedding, which Diana spent at Clarence House with her sister Jane, he sent her a note, along with a signet ring that bore the Prince of Wales feathers. He wrote: ‘I’m so proud of you and when you come up I’ll be there at the altar for you tomorrow. Just look ’em in the eye and knock ’em dead,'” Junor writes in her book “The Duchess: The Untold Story.”

The wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer took place on July 29, 1981, at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, United Kingdom. They welcomed two children in their marriage, Prince William and Prince Harry. They officially ended their marriage in 1996, a year before Diana lost her life in a car crash in Paris.

‘They have ruined everything’: Devastated couple caught in TUI holiday disaster

‘They have ruined everything’: Devastated couple caught in TUI holiday disaster

Newlyweds Daniella and Benjamin Bushell from Nottinghamshire have been left devastated after a mistake made by TUI “ruined their honeymoon”. The mix-up meant the couple could not go on their planned honeymoon.

The couple were initially meant to get married in May, but moved the special day to July specifically because of the holiday.

The newlyweds were therefore understandably upset and angry to hear that their long-awaited trip had been cancelled yet again.

Benjamin Bushell told Nottinghamshire Live: “When we went into the airport it was basically empty – no-one was there.

“So we thought ‘this is weird’.

“We had to speak to another airline as TUI wasn’t there and we explained the situation to us.

“They told us there was no flights going to Greece.

“Then the woman checked the system and told us the flight had already been cancelled.”

Benjamin added that they “didn’t get an email, a call, or anything telling us”.

He said: “We were expecting back in June to get something like a phone call explaining what amber status meant so we could decide what to do.

“We were more than happy to move it.”

Daniella added: “If they’d have cancelled it and let us know last week, we could have planned something else.

“But there is nowhere we can go, everywhere is completely booked.

“We now have 10 days sat at home.”

The couple said that they will not be flying with TUI again, but they don’t blame the staff at the airline’s Eastwood branch at all.

“I don’t want people to think we are angry just because we couldn’t go on holiday, it’s because they didn’t give us any opportunity to make any other plans,” Danielle said.

She added: “They [the company] have ruined everything for us.

“And TUI head office didn’t seem interested in us missing everything.

“We don’t go on holiday every year because we can’t afford it, so this was our treat and now it’s going to be four years since having a holiday.

“We had saved up for it.”

A TUI spokesperson said the airline has apologised to the couple. They added: “We’re very sorry we didn’t advise Mr and Mrs Bushell about the cancellation of their holiday.

“This should not have happened and we understand how upsetting their experience must have been.

“We’re in touch with the couple and hope they will accept our gesture of goodwill along with our sincere apologies.”

Michael Jackson’s horrifying marriage demand devastated wife Lisa Marie Presley

Michael Jackson's horrifying marriage demand devastated wife Lisa Marie Presley

This weekend marked the anniversary of MJ’s tragic death in 2009. So much of his life was overshadowed by his difficult childhood with father Joe Jackson and then all the speculation and accusations surrounding his final years. He only had one serious relationship in his whole life and Lisa Marie has spoken of how they truly loved each other. Yet, within months of their wedding, Michael started making some horrifying demands of his young wife.

There were and remain many reasons why people struggled to accept the union of the King of Poo and the daughter of The King.

Apart from Michael’s obvious fascination with Elvis and the need to silence the mounting accusations about his relationships with young boys, Lisa Marie also entered the marriage with her own struggles.

When they tied the knot on May 26, 1994, Lisa Marie had only been officially divorced from her first husband, Danny Keough, for 20 days. She also had two small children – four-year-old Danielle Riley and baby Ben.

Lisa Marie later said she had wanted to have children with Michael: “I just wanted to make sure.

“I was looking into the future and I was thinking, ‘I don’t ever want to get into a custody battle with him. I don’t want to do this, I don’t want to go head to head with him so I need to make sure that everything around is good.’

“I had children and I Knew bringing children into certain circumstances you have to make sure that everything is safe and secure and ok.

“And I wanted to make sure he and I were really, really united because we were going to be up against so much.”

Michael however, had his own plans and was prepared to do anything to make it happen.

Michael told Lisa Marie he had another woman lined up ready to have his children, Debbie Rowe, who worked for Michael’s dermatologist Arnold Klein.

Lisa Marie said: “I know she (Rowe) was there the whole time telling him she would do it. He would tell me, ‘If you’re not gonna do it, Debbie said she’ll do it.’

“And we would get into arguments because that wasn’t how to handle it. But that’s how he knew how to handle it: ‘If you’re not going to do it, this person will. Are you going to do it or not?'”

The marriage soon collapsed under all the strain of their arguments and Lisa Marie’s growing unhappiness about Michael’s lifestyle, which she felt echoed that of her father in all the worst and most excessive ways.

Lisa marie filed for divorce in January 1996 and within months, Michael announced Debbie Rowe was pregnant in October. They married in November and Prince Michael was born in February 1997.

Years later, Lisa Marie still believes the speed of it was partly directed at her: “I knew it was a bit of a retaliatory act on his part because I didn’t have a baby.”

Michael also fathered daughter Paris with Debbie and had a third child, youngest son Blanket, with a surrogate.

The drama series about the staff and patients at Holby City Hospital, charting the ups and downs of their personal and professional lives, has been a permanent fixture of TV schedules for the past 23 years, reports OK!

The BBC released a statement that read: “We are incredibly proud of Holby City but it’s with great sadness that we are announcing that after 23 years, the show will end on screen in March of next year.

“We sometimes have to make difficult decisions to make room for new opportunities and as part of the BBC’s commitment to make more programmes across the UK, we have taken the difficult decision to bring the show to a close in order to reshape the BBC’s drama slate to better reflect, represent and serve all parts of the country.
