DOTA 2 Battle Pass, Spectre Arcana, Nemestice event game live with TI10

DOTA 2 Battle Pass, Spectre Arcana, Nemestice event game live with TI10

The DOTA 2 Battle Pass has been revealed, with the Tier 1 bundle costing 7.49, Level 50 priced at 26.99, and 41.99 for Level 100.

The Nemestice 2021 Battle Pass will expire if not used by Jan 1, 2022, and has been released alongside the latest TI10 Qualifiers.

The official Battle Pass description read: “In the wake of the Mad Moon’s destruction, willful fragments of Radiant Ore and Direstone crashed upon our world.

“But a third type of stone—Nemestice, warped remnants of the shattered moon still unswayed by either petulant Ancient and bursting with Zet’s sacrificed power—was left drifting behind.

“Aeons later, Nemestice at last makes landfall to disrupt their battle, and to those who would hold power over both Ancients, there is no greater prize.”

The 2021 Battle Pass is confirmed to include the Dragon Knight Persona and the awaited reveal of the Spectre Arcana.

Alongside the new 2021 Battle Pass is the Nemestice Event Game, which according to Valve, is open to everyone.

Gamers taking on the new event will need to harvest smouldering fragments from the crashing meteorites to seize a power that rivals both Radiant and Dire.

DOTA fans will need to destroy all of their enemy’s towers to claim the crash zone for their own and win the game.

The full breakdown of the Nemestice DOTA 2 event reads:

Every three minutes, the Nemestice Storm will cause a giant meteorite strike in the centre of the map. Channel meteorites to collect Nemestice Embers. Try to dodge any falling meteorites before they hit you.

Nemestice Embers grant Embercharge, boosting your attack damage, spell amplification, and movement speed. Gain enough Embercharge and you’ll even shock nearby opponents.

Each time a tower is destroyed, power disperses to its allied towers, making them stronger—as well as drawing the attention and assistance of Nemestice-crazed creeps. Destroy all enemy towers to claim the area and win.

A big part of the DOTA 2 Battle Pass is the Spectre Arcana, which included the following features:

The many aspects of Mercurial are fragments of a single form no longer—for one has stolen away from the many, and the realities of a new Spectre rise. Enticed and trapped by a cursed set of armour, a solitary shade of Mercurial finds that with each soul she harvests for the blighted plate, a stronger sense of self arrives along with it. While at first such forced separation enraged her, she now seeks this tantalizing freedom… Killing whoever she needs to earn more.

As Spectre kills, her armour will gain power, increasing the number of blades floating beside her. She also has a custom Kill Streak counter, and new icons and effects for Blademail and Radiance.

Help Spectre define her own reality with the edge of her blade. Earn a Mega Killstreak in 100 different games to unlock the Phantom Ascension alternate style.

  • All-new Model and Pedestal
  • Spectre’s model and loadout pedestal have been dispersed and refocused into a full item set to reflect the emergent reality of this newly autonomous shade.
  • Custom Animations & Effects
  • Features a full set of all-new animations, attack sound, and ambient effects, along with all-new effects for Spectral Dagger, Dispersion, Desolate, and Haunt.
  • Custom Hero Assets
  • Includes an all-new Kill Streak Counter, Hero Portrait, Ability Icons, and a minimap icon.
  • 500+ Arcana-exclusive voice lines
  • Features a dual-layer voice response system. As Spectre grows stronger, her responses will become focused and easier to understand.

DOTA 2 Battle Pass news as Valve reveal The International TI10 plan

The International is returning in August and Valve will be offering new ways to support your favourite team.

While cash is usually generated by the DOTA 2 Battle Pass, there are already funds in place for this year’s event.

The TI10 prize pool already boasts $ 40,018,195 and will not need to pull from any of the other Summer events being planned.

According to Valve, the DOTA 2 International will take place this August in Stockholm, Sweden.

Things will kick off with the Group Stage, running August 5 – 8 and setting the field for what’s to come.

This will be followed by the Main Event, which starts on August 10 and continues through August 15, when the final teams battle in the Grand Finals to be crowned TI10 champions – and claim their share of the $ 40,018,195 prize pool.

It’s unclear if there will be a DOTA 2 Battle Pass this year, with Valve instead focusing on other plans, telling fans this week:

“We’ve previously mentioned our aim to deliver content on a more regular schedule throughout the year rather than drop everything during one period for the traditional Battle Pass. We’ve experimented with this style for Diretide, the New Player Update, and our continued seasonal Dota Plus updates.

“With that in mind, this year’s slate will continue to look a bit different than in the past. To start, we’ll be shipping two separate events over the coming months instead of one overarching summer event.

“The first will arrive in mid-to-late June, and another will follow sometime after The International ends. Neither of these events will fund The International prize pool, as the TI10 Battle Pass “prize pool still remains to be claimed. For fans that want to support players and organizations, the new Supporters Club provides a more flexible and direct way to contribute to your favorite teams.

“As The International approaches, there will be more ways for fans to engage with the tournament itself. We’ll post updates here as we have them, so stay tuned for everything summer has in store.”

It was also announced this week how new features like The Supporters Club will work.

According to Valve, content in Supporters Clubs is provided by the teams themselves, and 50% of all sales goes to the teams you choose. This content will last until The International commences, and in future seasons, it will last through each respective Major.

“Each team has three bundles to choose from, with an increasing amount of content inside,” a message from Valve explains.

“The Bronze Club includes a badge for your favourite team, the Silver Club includes sprays and emoticons, and the Gold Club includes a special in-game HP-bar badge, loading screens, and voice lines.

“Badges will appear in multiple places throughout the game, including your friends list, player profiles, the Versus Screen, and the in-game scoreboard.

“Today we are adding content from 17 teams. As more content from other teams is submitted and approved, they will be added to this list regularly. Teams that aren’t able to submit high tier content might be added as well without Silver Club and/or Gold Club enabled.”

DOTA 2 Dawnbreaker: New Hero abilities and full DOTA 7.29 patch notes

Valve has released a giant new patch today that brings a brand hero to the already impressive roster.

Dawnbreaker – aka Valora – has been fully revealed and looks set to offer some intriguing options for those prepared to try something new.

The hero description released with DOTA 2 7.29 adds: “In the aeons after the Keeper’s exodus birthed the age of light, some amongst the first sun’s lineage began to align against the chaos their ancestor’s maker left chasing in his wake.

“Calling themselves the Children of Light, they saw no one else as worthy of taking up the Keeper’s abandoned mantle, and they yearned to beat back the onslaught of darkness, creating glorious armies built to purge the cosmos of all creatures of primordial night.

“Valora, the Dawnbreaker, most prized warrior amongst the Children’s ancient creations, is the shining herald of the majesty of order and light.

“Molded from the heart of a young metallic star, and charged by golden breath with new life, Valora was called to spread the glow of the Children’s wisdom to the darkest reaches of the universe — setting fire to the heavens with each swing of her celestial hammer amidst the endless battle to keep chaos at bay.”

Dawnbreaker has a great collection of abilities to pull from, including starbreaker, Celestial Hammer, Luminosity and Solar Guardian.

Dawnbreaker whirls her hammer around 3 times, damaging enemies with her attack plus bonus damage. On the final strike, she smashes her hammer down, stunning and damaging enemies in front of her.

  • SWIPE BONUS DAMAGE: 25 / 35 / 45 / 55
  • SMASH BONUS DAMAGE: 40 / 65 / 90 / 115
  • SMASH STUN DURATION: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.4

Dawnbreaker hurls her weapon at a target, damaging enemies struck along the way. The hammer pauses for 2.0 seconds at the destination before flying back to her, leaving a trail of fire that slows enemies. Dawnbreaker can recall the hammer at any time, pulling her towards it so they meet in the middle.

  • HAMMER DAMAGE: 60 / 90 / 120 / 150
  • CAST RANGE: 1000 / 1100 / 1200 / 1300

After 3 attacks, Dawnbreaker powers up, charging her next attack with a critical hit that heals all allied heroes within 650 units around her for a portion of attack damage dealt. Creeps and neutral enemies provide less healing. Allies are healed for 35% of the amount.

  • HEALING FROM HEROES: 25% / 30% / 35% / 40%
  • CRITICAL STRIKE DAMAGE: 120% / 140% / 160% / 180%

Dawnbreaker creates a pulsing effect at a location within 350 units of an allied hero anywhere on the map, damaging enemies and healing allies with each pulse. After a short duration, she flies to the target location, dealing additional damage and stunning enemies upon landing. Once channeled, Dawnbreaker cannot stop the ability.

  • LAND RADIUS: 400
  • DAMAGE PER PULSE: 30 / 50 / 70
  • HEAL PER PULSE: 40 / 55 / 70
  • LANDING DAMAGE: 130 / 160 / 190
  • LANDING STUN DURATION: 1.1 / 1.3 / 1.5

Away from the new DOTA hero and here are some of the other highlights from today’s patch:

  • Terrain updated with various changes
  • Added Water Power Rune. Spawns at both Power Rune locations only at minute 2 and 4. Instantly restores 100 health and 80 mana when used. Can be used to fill bottles. Starting at 6 minutes, Power Runes spawn as usual on one side.
