PS Plus free PS5 game surprise: Sony drops early game reveal alongside HUGE price deal

PS Plus free PS5 game surprise: Sony drops early game reveal alongside HUGE price deal

Sony has dropped a surprise bombshell on PlayStation Plus subscribers, as one of the August free games is revealed early.

Just days after the launch of the July 2021 free games, Sony has announced next month’s PS5 offering.

Replacing A Plague Tale Innocence on August 3, Hunter’s Arena will be free to PS Plus subscribers until September 7.

The news was announced during Sony’s recent State of Play event, alongside a preview about what fans can expect.

According to a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Hunter’s Arena is a Battle Royale game set in an ancient East Asian world.

Players take control of a Hunter tasked with defeating deadly demons across a huge map.

Using a combination of hand-to-hand melee fighting and swordplay, Hunters will also be forced to battle each other.

Each battle features 30 player characters, as well as an untold number of computer-controlled demons.

Killing demons will reward players with new loot, which is how you’ll become strong enough to defeat other player characters.

“Your ultimate goal in Hunter’s Arena is to fight your way through 30 other players and prove yourself as the deadliest Hunter,” Sony explains.

“You must always plan out strategies before diving straight into the action – stay cautious, as at any moment you could become the hunted in this unyielding world.”

Demons reportedly have unique fighting styles that require different strategies to best. Fortunately, the hunters all have their own special abilities and fighting styles.

“Each time you enter the arena, you will be able to choose from 17 different Hunters. I recommend that you try out different Hunters as they range from close range to long range.

“Close range Hunters can deal great amount of damage if you manage to close the gap between you and the enemy. Few of them even have abilities to pull enemies towards them or create shockwaves that will draw enemies to a spot.

“Long range Hunters are perfect for kiting enemies from a distance. However, even though projectiles deal large damage, it will require practice to perfectly land them in fast paced fights.”

If Hunter’s Arena looks like your thing, then you should check out the latest ShopTo discount on PlayStation Plus subscriptions.

The UK retailer is currently selling 12-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions for just £39.85, compared to £49.99 on PSN.

As a digital membership, the PS Plus subscription will be delivered immediately, which means you can use it to bag the latest batch of free PlayStation Plus games.

This includes A Plague Tale Innocence, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and WWE 2K Battlegrounds.

Cryptocurrency price LIVE: Bitcoin plummets as gains wiped – Musk’s Dogecoin also drops

Cryptocurrency price LIVE: Bitcoin plummets as gains wiped - Musk's Dogecoin also drops

Alexandra Clark, Sales Trader at the UK based digital asset broker GlobalBlock, wrote: “Cynthia Lummis has encouraged ‘people to buy and hold’ bitcoin in their portfolios, adding that with Congress flooding the economy with trillions and trillions of dollars, ‘there’s no way’ the value of the US dollar will not be debased.

“As well as promoting bitcoin as a store of value, the senator also defended Bitcoin’s environmental record, inviting miners to the state of Wyoming.

For the first time in weeks, bitcoin managed to gain over the weekend, which corresponds with the largest ever downward adjustment in bitcoin mining difficulty and a spike in daily accumulation by whales.

“Bitcoin mining difficulty fell by a staggering 28 percent this week and whales caused the biggest daily accumulation spike of 2021 with 60,000 BTC being purchased in one day.

He added: “Grayscale has rebalanced its portfolio in a way where Cardano (ADA) is now the company’s third-largest holding.

“As it stands, Bitcoin (BTC) accounts for 67.47% of the fund, Ethereum (ETH) 25.39%, Cardano (ADA) 4.26%, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) 1.03%, Litecoin (LTC) 0.99% and Chainlink (LINK) 0.86%. The firm also revealed it is exploring Solana, Polygon, and a range of DeFi tokens for single asset trust funds.

Algorand also presents exciting opportunities. Since its launch in 2019, it has secured hundreds of millions in funding for its development and has numerous third parties operating within its ecosystem.

“Whilst it is not yet a threat to Ethereum or Cardano, with its smart contract capabilities, solid transaction speeds, and focus on being a bridge between centralized and decentralized systems, it certainly looks promising.

Next James Bond: Tom Hardy drops by the wayside as Regé-Jean Page is new favourite

Next James Bond: Tom Hardy drops by the wayside as Regé-Jean Page is new favourite

Later this year Daniel Craig will be stepping down from his role of James Bond after No Time To Die is released. Although fans have been waiting patiently for the next movie for years, no news has yet been given on the next actor to don the tuxedo after the credits have rolled. Various rumours have suggested Inception star Tom Hardy is going to be the next international spy, but he has now fallen behind in the Bond Odds.

According to Ladbrokes, the new favourite for the next Bond actor is Netflix star Regé-Jean Page.

The British-Zimbabwean star found mainstream fame over Christmas when his show, Bridgerton, hit the streaming service.

Following that, petitions began calling for the star to become the next Bond after Craig.

Now, Page has risen through the ranks to become the new favourite with 4/5 odds on becoming the man of mystery.

Unfortunately, this means Hardy has lost his top spot in the betting.

All hope is not yet lost, however.

The Dark Knight Rises actor currently has a strong 4/1 on taking over as Bond after Craig.

Considering his popularity, it is more than likely this line-up will change in the coming months.

What do you think? Should Regé-Jean Page be the next James Bond? Join the debate in the comments section here

This would make him the first-ever Welsh Bond, and his chances are good with a strong 6/1.

Despite his popularity, he is being beaten by McMafia actor James Norton.

Norton has an impressive 5/1 and certainly fits the bill for the role of the Eton College attendee.

Down but not out is London hero Idris Elba, who is best known for Pacific Rim, Hobbs & Shaw and the Marvel franchise.

Elba has a fantastic 10/1 and could have his odds slashed at any point.

He was recently backed by previous Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.

Brosnan said: “Idris Elba comes to mind. Idris is such a powerful presence and such a great former voice tensity. He would be magnificent.”

James Bond No Time To Die is due out in cinemas on September 30, 2021.

PS5 UK restock live updates: Amazon, ASDA, Very, GAME, Tesco, Smyths, Scan stock drops

PlayStation 5 restocks are live across the board in the UK this week.

The PS5 is in stock at GAME, where customers can actually purchase the console in store ready for a June 25 delivery. You should phone your local branch for availability, and to put your name down for future stock drops.

More stock drops have taken place today, as ASDA and Very both restock the popular PlayStation 5 console.

ASDA has actually been in and out of stock all morning, so it’s worth checking the website for potential bundles.

Likewise, Argos has started selling PS5 consoles on eBay, so it’s a good idea to check out the auction site instead of the website.

There are also rumours of a potential restock on the Argos website this week, following last week’s in-store update.

According to PS5 UK Stock – Instant Updates, fans can expect stock drops at Amazon, Scan and Smyths before the end of the week.

Tesco, on the other hand, is likely to restock the PlayStation 5 before the end of June, potentially at some point this week.

To give you the best possible chance of purchasing a PS5 this week, Express Online will keep this post updated with all of the live alerts.

It’s also worth bookmarking some of the more popular stock checker accounts for even more alerts and information.

This includes Digital Foundry DealsStock InformerPS5 UK Stock – Instant UpdatesPS5 UK Stock and Express Gaming – the latter of which will have live updates throughout the week.

Some of the accounts mentioned above have Discord groups for PS5 customers, while some have live streams and alerts on sites like YouTube.

Customers are generally encouraged to have multiple devices open when trying to purchase a PlayStation 5, and to sign in to retail accounts when available.

If you’re looking for some cheap PlayStation 5 games to enjoy with your newly purchased console, it’s worth visiting Amazon today.

As part of Amazon Prime Day, the online retailer has discounted some hugely popular PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch games.

The PS5 version of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is down to just £29.99 as part of the Prime Day promotion.

Likewise, fellow Ubisoft release Immortals Fenix Rising is reduced to £21.49, while Watch Dogs Legion costs £21.99.

Amazon Prime Day – which confusingly lasts for two days – ends at midnight tonight, so you’d better hurry if you want to grab those deals.
