Lord of the Rings Gollum gameplay reveal, WRC 10, Blood Bowl 3: Watch Nacon Connect LIVE

French publisher Nacon is about to hold a live presentation full of gameplay reveals.

The Nacon Connect presentation takes place on July 6 at 6pm BST UK time. You can watch it live by clicking play on the YouTube embed below, which will be added nearer the start time.

According to Nacon, the broadcast will feature 13 exciting announcements, as well as three exclusive reveals.

“With only one day until we lift the lid on 13 exciting announcements for our games and accessories,” reads a Nacon post.

“If that wasn’t enough we’ve also got 3 EXCLUSIVE REVEALS in the pipeline. What are you looking forward to most?”

As you can see from the promotional material further down the page, viewers will get a look at games such as Blood Bowl 3, WRC 10, and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is another game with a lot of fanfare. The action RPG is said to feature a “heart-pounding story” with plenty of player choice.

“Play as 3 vampires, harness their powers, embrace their desires, and face their demons in a heart-pounding story in which your choices decide the fate of Boston,” reads the official description.

Other games to be featured during the event include Rogue Lords, Steel Rising, Roguebook, and skateboarding game Session.

Session is already available on Steam Early Access, but is still awaiting an official release.

“Inspired by the golden era of skateboarding, Session’s primary goal is to make you experience what skateboarding really is; an incredible culture where there are no other goals other than expressing your creativity and achieving success through hard work, perseverance and bits of madness for no one else other than yourself.

“Be ready to play the most authentic and grounded skateboarding experience in the most legendary spots on earth, film and make the gnarliest skate parts out there.”

Arguably the biggest game of all is Lord of the Rings Gollum, which is the first of countless LotR games in development.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is described as a story-driven action adventure game set in Middle-earth.

Set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the story revolves around Gollum’s hunt for the One Ring.

According to the official description, the Lord of the Rings spinoff game will feature stealth elements, huge levels and a dual personality gameplay mechanic.

Based on previous reports, the split-personality mechanic will lead to some interesting choices during each chapter. Presumably this will impact the ending of the game.

Daedalic Entertainment has signed up to develop and publish multiple Lord of the Rings releases, which is great news after a long absence for the series on consoles.

Sony PlayStation State of Play event: HUGE PS5 gameplay reveal to take centre stage

Sony is reportedly getting ready to hold a big State of Play event for the summer.

The next State of Play event is rumoured to take place in the coming weeks, and will focus on upcoming PS4 and PS5 games.

Fans can expect plenty of new game reveals, as well as updates on previously announced releases.

And if the latest reports are to be believed, this will include a first look at PlayStation exclusive God of War Ragnarok.

That’s according to respected leaker @Shpeshal_Nick, whose track record with Sony leaks is not to be scoffed at.

“I’m being told we’ll see our first gameplay of the new God of War at Sony’s show too. Will be exciting to see,” he tweets.

As a reminder, God of War Ragnarok was announced during last year’s PS5 release date event.

God of War Ragnarok was initially expected to launch in 2021, but was later pushed back until 2022.

Ragnarok is the sequel to 2018 release God of War, which was one of the finest games to grace the PS4.

Without delving into spoiler territory, plans for a sequel were teased at the end of Kratos and Atreus’s adventure in God of War.

The game is free for PS Plus subscribers, as part of the PlayStation Plus Collection on PS5.

If you haven’t already, God of War is well worth checking out, if only to witness the new gameplay style and unique story.

“Living as a man outside the shadow of the gods, Kratos must adapt to unfamiliar lands, unexpected threats and a second chance at being a father.

“Together with his son Atreus, the pair will venture into the brutal realm of Midgard and fight to fulfil a deeply personal quest.

The game features various creatures and characters from Norse mythology, including Baldur, Modi and Magni.

The sequel is expected to introduce even more characters, including some of the more iconic beings from Norse mythology.

State of Play April 2021: Start time, how to live stream, Ratchet & Clank new PS5 gameplay

This post originally appeared on Daily Express :: Gaming Feed

A new State of Play is airing today, with the headline act being more than 15 minutes of new gameplay for upcoming PS5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. The new title from Insomniac Games has already dazzled during past Sony streams, showcasing gorgeous graphics that look like a playable Pixar movie as well as demonstrating the capabilities of the PS5’s super-fast SSD with lightning fast loading times for new game words. And PS5 gamers will soon get a chance to take another closer look at Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart ahead of its June 11 release date.

This new character, which bears a striking resemblance to Ratchet, is called Rivet.

Revealing this new character’s name Marcus Smith, the creative director at Insomniac Games, said: “Yes! We finally revealed her name… you guessed it! Right?! Rivet is a Lombax resistance fighter from another dimension, where the evil Emperor Nefarious hunts all those who oppose him.

“You saw brand-new locations like Nefarious City, and alternate-dimension twists on old favourites like Sargasso and Torren IV along with a sneak-peak at some new weapons and gameplay mechanics.”

While outlining what to expect from today’s State of Play, Sony separately also said: “This Thursday, feast your eyes on more than 15 minutes of new Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart footage, plus a quick look at a pair of upcoming indie titles.”

Valorant Breeze update: New Valorant map gameplay reveal date set for April

This post originally appeared on Daily Express :: Entertainment Feed

Valorant has been teasing its new Breeze map this week and has now confirmed when fans will get to see new gameplay.

Not much is known about the new location other than it’s going to be set somewhere tropical.

This is based on the few images shared on the official Riot Games Twitter, meaning there is still plenty to be revealed.

The good news is that gamers won’t have to wait long, as content creators will start sharing gameplay next week.

From what has been shared, new Breeze content will be shared on Monday, April 26, probably via Twitch.

A message from the official Valorant Twitter page reveals: “Excited to see how the best VALORANT players do in our new map Breeze?

“Competitors are busy with #VALORANTChallengers events today, so we’ll give all competitors special access to the map on April 26th when they’ll be able to stream and share content with our community.”

Riot Games has also confirmed that a new update is being planned for later this month, with the message adding:

“Our next patch is out on April 27 or 28, depending on where you are in the world.”

Another big update coming to Valorant is scheduled for May, with the Valorant Champions Tour 2021: Stage 2 Masters – Reykjavík kicking off next month.

Discussing the Masters points structure for this year, Alex Francois, Global Head of Competitive Operations revealed:

“When determining how teams would qualify into Champions this year, we had one main goal – make it the most competitive tournament possible.

“To do that, we needed to weigh a variety of factors. First, we wanted to ensure that we were rewarding teams who have shown consistent results throughout the year.

“However, we also wanted to ensure that we were valuing the recency of results – finishes closer in time to Champions are likely a better indicator of success than finishes months earlier. Finally, we considered the fact that as we move to international competition, the difficulty of winning Masters grows.

“This all resulted in our existing Masters points structure. We believe that the balance of lower points at the Regional Masters events, followed by an increase in available points heading into Masters: Reykjavík, and an additional increase in points heading into Stage 3 Challengers (along with the automatic qualification into Champions for the winning team) will help us meet our goals.

“It’s important to remember that Championship Points will also count towards seeding at the Last Chance Qualifiers, pan-regional tournaments that will select the final teams for Champions, not just for qualification into Champions itself.”
