Genshin Impact update 2.0: miHoYo laying groundwork for Nintendo Switch release?

Genshin Impact is getting its biggest update yet soon. On Wednesday July 21 miHoYo will release Genshin Impact update 2.0, which will add a whole new region to the hit game – Inazuma. This updated map isn’t the only change coming to Genshin Impact with version 2.0 – the inbound patch will also add gardening and changes to the Spiral Abyss.

Genshin Impact update 2.0 will also, of course, add new weapons and see the arrival of new character banners.

New characters heading to Genshin Impact with update 2.0 are Ayaka, Sayu, and Yoimiya.

This trio of new Genshin Impact characters are tied to the Inazuma region.

Besides this, miHoYo has quietly announced one other new feature for Genshin Impact, which could be a sign the release date for the long awaited Nintendo Switch version is on the horizon.

It had previously been rumoured that Genshin Impact was getting a cross save feature with update 2.0.

This feature would be important to the Switch version of the free-to-play game as it would allow existing players to easily transfer over their progress.

The news was revealed by the Genshin Report Twitter account towards the start of the month.

The @GenshinReport Twitter posted: “Cross-save between mobile, PC, and PlayStation will be introduced in version 2.0

“It will also be present when Genshin comes to Switch and allow for hoyolab on consoles”.

And now the official Genshin Impact Twitter account has confirmed that a cross save feature is launching with update 2.0.

The @GenshinImpact Twitter recently posted: “Greetings, dear Travelers,

“The cross-save function between account for #PlayStation and #miHoYo Account is coming to you in Version 2.0.”

While we still don’t know when exactly the Switch version of Genshin Impact will launch, the cross save feature will be an ideal tool for any existing players looking to use the Nintendo console as their main platform for playing the hugely popular free game going forward.

Explaining how the cross save feature works, miHoYo said: “The cross-save function between accounts allows you to link accounts from two different platforms (your account for PSN and your miHoYo Account) and share your progress as well as your in-game data between the two accounts. Once your account for PSN is linked to a valid email address, you will be able to log in on iOS/Android/PC using your miHoYo Account, or on PlayStation using the account for PSN linked to the email address associated with your miHoYo Account and resume your game progress.”

Genshin Impact update 2.0 has been dubbed ‘The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia’.

Here’s more details on the inbound patch: “A foreign thunderstorm tears the sky apart, splitting eternity. Flashes of lightning cut through the darkness, as a god’s will manifests.

“Overcome endless thunderstorms, set foot on the island of cherry blossoms, and witness the Eternity pursued by Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho.”

Genshin Impact 1.7 livestream start time, redeem codes and Genshin 2.0 release date

The Genshin Impact 1.7 release date is reportedly scheduled to drop around July 16, and this week will see developers Mihoyo reveal what they have planned.

Fans will get a closer look at what’s coming next, with Genshin Impact 1.7 update set to be the focus of the next livestream.

This has become a big part of the Genshin release process and usually includes solid information regarding what new Banners will be coming to the game.

The interesting thing this time around is that Mihoyo is rumoured to be skipping the 1.7 update and going straight to Genshin 2.0.

Why it’s worth doing this is anyone’s guess, but it will certainly make things more interesting when people tune in today.

Livestreams also end with a fresh round of Genshin Impact redeem codes, with different live streams offering different codes.

There is no guarantee how many free codes will be made available or what they will contain, but there’s a good chance there will be some free primogems up for grabs.

The good news is that the start time and details on how to watch the upcoming Genshin Impact stream have been confirmed in advance, meaning fans don’t have long to wait to find out.

WHAT IS THE GENSHIN IMPACT 1.7 LIVESTREAM START TIME?

According to developers Mihoyo, today’s Genshin Impact 1.7 livestream will start at 1pm BST on July 9.

The Genshin livestream will be held on the Twitch Channel first, before being posted to YouTube later on.

So that means you will need to tune into Twitch to find out the details first before it appears on YouTube.

The message from Mihoyo adds: “Dear Travelers, The Genshin Impact Preview will premiere on the official Twitch channel at 8:00 AM (UTC-4) on July 9th – https://twitch.tv/genshinimpactofficial.

“The official YouTube channel will release the recording on July 9 at 12:00 PM (UTC-4) https://youtube.com/c/GenshinImpact.”

As shared above, today could reveal Mihoyo’s plans for Genshin Impact 2.0, which would mean technically skipping update 1.7.

While Kazuha became the first character to arrive from Inazuma, they won’t be the last, with plenty more being planned.

Both Yoimiya and Ayaka look set to join him later this month, and the wait time could be concise.

Ayaka has been leaked as a five-star character who will be a Cryo sword user with plenty to offer any roster.

She is expected to debut soon after Genshin Impact 1.7 is launched, perhaps as early as July 21.

Meanwhile, new gameplay challenges are coming to Genshin Impact the same day as the livestream is shown.

Enemies of unknown origin have come ashore to the Golden Apple Archipelago, intent on taking this seaborne paradise for themselves.

Use the mechanisms and the blessings from Momentum Discs to beat back the monsters in one fell swoop.

A message from Mihoyo explains: “New missions have also been added to Marine Hues. Complete them to receive BEP.

“Starting on the first day of the event, a new challenge will unlock each day until the seventh day, by which all the challenges will have been unlocked. Seven stages will be distributed at different locations throughout the islands.

“During the challenge, Travelers can defeat Berserker Opponents or destroy Momentum Discs to obtain Momentum. Accumulate Momentum to obtain Momentum Blessings and buff your characters.

“Momentum will decay over time, requiring Travelers to constantly defeat Berserker Opponents or destroy Momentum Discs to keep up the pace.”

Genshin Impact 2.0 livestream release date surprise with Genshin codes

By normal standards, Mihoyo is expected to share its plans for Genshin Impact 1.7, which is expected to launch later this month.

But recent reports and rumours suggest that there could be bigger plans afoot that will give fans a lot more information than expected.

This could even extend to Mihoyo dumping plans for a 1.7 patch and going straight to Genshin Impact 2.0.

And while this might sound like a major jump, gamers on PS4, Mobile and PC should be aware that this won’t mean missing out on anything.

What it does mean is that Mihoyo is reportedly planning one of the biggest updates they have ever launched.

This means that there will be more than talk about the next Banner and characters, and perhaps there will even be news for Switch gamers.

Mihoyo has promised that Genshin Impact will arrive on the Nintendo Switch console in the future, and this week’s presentation would make for the perfect time to share an update on how that is going.

Mihoyo might also take the opportunity to release more free codes than usual, as Genshin 2.0 is going to be such a big update.

This could include new tie-ins with the Twitch platform, which will be hosting the main Genshin livestream this week.

As usual, gamers will need to take these reports with a pinch of salt until we hear more from official sources.

And the good news is that fans won’t be waiting long to find out everything in the next Genshin Impact livestream.

WHAT IS THE GENSHIN IMPACT 2.0 LIVESTREAM START TIME?

Developers MiHoYo has revealed that the Genshin Impact 2.0 livestream – or whatever name they give it – start time has been scheduled for July 9, at 1pm BST on Twitch.

This means you will also have the option of waiting until later to view the full event on YouTube.

Expected to arrive around July 16, the next major game expansion already has plenty of leaked information being shared online.

While Kazuha became the first character to arrive from Inazuma, they won’t be the last, with plenty more being planned.

Both Yoimiya and Ayaka look set to join him later this month, and the wait time could be very short.

Ayaka has been leaked as a five-star character who will be a Cryo sword user with plenty to offer any roster.

She is expected to debut soon after the next Genshin update is launched, perhaps as early as July 21.

Recent reports also indicate that developers Mihoyo are thinking about making some map changes with Genshin 2.0, which extends to changing the lineup of monsters in certain areas.

The full release date for Genshin Impact 2.0 will be announced on July 9, alongside a new list of codes.

Some of the most recent codes released by Mihoyo include the following:

  • GENSHINGIFT – 50 Primogems and Three Hero Wits.
  • GENSHINGALAXY – 10,000 Mora and other items.
  • GENSHINEPIC – 10,000 Mora and other items.
  • GS6ACJ775KNV – 60 Primogems and 10,000 Mora.

Genshin Impact 1.7 livestream date confirmed with Genshin Codes update

Genshin Impact 1.7 is launching very soon, and Mihoyo has decided to showcase its plans for the upcoming update this week.

A new post from the development team has revealed that a special livestream event will be held in the coming days, focused on what will be added to the game next.

And it has now been confirmed that the Genshin Impact 1.7 livestream date has been set for Friday, July 9.

This follows a normal pattern for Mihoyo, although some changes to the usual format have been confirmed.

While gamers will be able to tune in and get all the latest news regarding Genshin Impact 1.7 on Friday, they will probably want to watch everything on Twitch instead of YouTube.

That’s because the livestream will be held on the Twitch Channel first, before being posted to YouTube later on.

So for anyone who wants to get the news first, the Genshin Impact 1.7 livestream start time has been set for Friday, July 9, at 1pm BST.

Another thing that could be different during this upcoming livestream is the content covered for PS4, PC and Mobile platforms.

Most of the time, Mihoyo shares the patch number in the announcement, with the next update being Genshin Impact 1.7.

This time around, the livestream is only called the Genshin Impact Preview, leaving it open to cover other parts of the game.

There are rumours that Genshin Impact 2.0 is on the way and will be part of a massive overhaul of the game.

And if these recent rumours prove correct, it will mean gamers getting a lot of new information covering what’s coming next in July, and what is being planned for beyond that.

We should also have plenty of news covering Genshin Impact 1.7, which is expected to include two new banners and map changes.

She is expected to debut soon after Genshin Impact 1.7 is launched, perhaps as early as July 21.

Recent reports also indicate that developers Mihoyo are thinking about making some map changes with Genshin 1.7, which extends to changing the lineup of monsters in certain areas.

The full release date for Genshin Impact 1.7 is expected to be announced on July 9, alongside a new list of codes. These provide free items and Primogems to fans to spend on whatever they want, and will likely go live straight after the stream has ended.

  • SBNBUK67M37Z – 30 Primogems and Five Adventurer’s EXP.

Genshin Impact 1.7 livestream leak and Genshin codes July update

With the latest update winding down in terms of new content, fans are eager to find out what is being planned for Genshin Impact 1.7.

She is expected to debut soon after Genshin Impact 1.7 is launched, perhaps as early as July 21.

Recent reports also indicate that developers Mihoyo are thinking about making some map changes with Genshin 1.7, which extends to changing the lineup of monsters in certain areas.

However, until the development team reveals its plans in full, we won’t know for sure about everything being planned for July and beyond.

So when can fans expect to find out more about Gensin Impact 1.7 and its final release date?

A new leak this week suggests that Mihoyo are planning to host an official livestream for its Genshin Impact 1.7 expansion on July 9.

There have also been claims that this month’s livestream event will be held exclusively on Twitch and could be held very early in the morning for fans to watch in the United States.

As always, these kinds of reports need to be taken with a big pinch of salt until we learn more from official sources.

If Mihoyo is planning to host a livestream next week, gamers can expect to learn more around July 7.

Older Genshin codes from earlier this year include the following:

  • WTNTBYSZJNRD – includes 100 Primogems, 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores.
  • 8A6ABHTH2N9Z – includes 100 Primogems, 5 Hero’s Wits.
  • UTNBBGSZ3NQM – includes 100 Primogems, 50000 Mora.

Mihoyo recently confirmed that it will be staging a crossover event between two of its leading games on July 9.

This will include Genshin Impact characters entering the Honkai universe, with Fischl joining the lineup.

A message from Mihoyo explains: “The popular character Fischl from Genshin Impact is joining the game as [Prinzessin der Verurteilung!].

“Players can claim this SP battlesuit for free upon their first login. In the previous behind-the-scenes video, the Honkai Impact 3rd team shed light on how they imported Fischl faithfully while giving her gameplay a Honkai twist and her image a power-up by updating her model, animation, and VFX.”

Genshin Impact Kazuha banner release time: What is the Kazuha Banner release date plan?

The next big event in the Genshin Impact calendar is upon us, with the Kazuha Banner release date scheduled for this week.

The latest character update in 2021, Kazuha is a five-star Anemo Sword user who can be used in support, or as a DPS character.

Hailing from Inazuma, This new addition to the Genshin roster focuses on elemental damage and boasts an ultimate that, when used with other characters, can produce impressive damage bonuses.

And while Kazuha will be the main draw during this upcoming Genshin update, he won’t be the only character getting a boosted drop.

Like with most Banners, there will be a bundle of four-star fighters available alongside the main event.

And the “Leaves in the Wind” Event Wish will be no different, with developers Mihoyo providing these four-star options at boosted rates over the coming weeks:

“Thorny Benevolence” Rosaria (Cryo), “Trial by Fire” Bennett (Pyro), and “Wolf Boy” Razor (Electro).

Rosaria made her debut earlier this year as part of another Banner event and will be returning simultaneously as Kazuha becomes available.

WHEN DOES THE GENSHIN IMPACT KAZUHA BANNER START?

Developers Mihoyo has confirmed that the Genshin Impact Kazuha Banner has a scheduled release date for Tuesday, June 29.

This will be a unified launch across all platforms, meaning PS4, PC and Mobile gamers should get access to the event at the same time.

And Mihoyo has also confirmed that Rosaria will also be available to unlock with boosted drop rates as part of the event.

The Genshin Impact Kazuha Banner release time has also been revealed for around 5pm BST in the UK on June 28, and 3pm PDT in North America.

But as always, gamers will need to keep an eye out for the latest news as these timings can change ahead of schedule.

A message from developers Mihoyo covering the new Genshin event explains: “During the event, the event-exclusive 5-star character “Scarlet Leaves Pursue Wild Waves” Kaedehara Kazuha (Anemo) will receive a huge drop-rate boost!

“During the event, the 4-star characters “Thorny Benevolence” Rosaria (Cryo), “Trial by Fire” Bennett (Pyro), and “Wolf Boy” Razor (Electro) will receive a huge drop-rate boost.

“Of the above characters, the event-exclusive character will not be available in the standard wish “Wanderlust Invocation.”

“The “Test Run” trial event will be open during this event wish. Travelers may use fixed lineups containing the selected trial characters to enter specific stages and test them out. Travelers that complete the challenges will receive the corresponding rewards.”

Mihoyo has also confirmed that they will be running an event alongside this latest Banner, which will bring boosted drop rates to some top weapons.

This will include the Freedom Sworn sword, Skyward Atlas catalyst, the four-star Alley Flash sword, Wine and Song catalyst, and Alley Hunter bow.

It should be noted that the Freedom Sworn Sword is exclusive to the Epitome Invocation event wish, meaning it will not be available in the standard wish “Wanderlust Invocation.”

Genshin Impact is a free action RPG title developed by Chinese studio Mihoyo which is available to download across a number of platforms. For now, Genshin can be installed and played on PS4, PS5, PC and Mobile.

However, the game is also expected to arrive on Nintendo Switch in the coming months, with no Xbox console release currently being advertised.

Genshin Impact Banner release date: When is Kazuha Banner coming out?

The Kazuha Banner is set to be Genshin Impact’s next big event, adding a new five-star character to PS4, PS5, PC and Mobile.

The first phase of the launch is now live, with a new Genshin web event available to take part in.

This includes completing a mission for Kazuha online, although it’s probably going to seem pretty tame compared to the final release.

For the next two weeks, Genshin fans can help Kazuha build boats, which involves heading over to the official Genshin site.

To participate and claim the rewards on offer, gamers will need to do the following:

“Once you have accessed the event page, please log in using your miHoYo account and select the appropriate server and corresponding character to ensure that you will be able to receive and claim your event rewards.

“PS4/PS5: Access from the event mail in the Paimon Menu > Mail. During the event period, Travelers who were not yet at Adventure Rank 10 or above at the beginning of the event will receive the event mail upon reaching Adventure Rank 10.”

GENSHIN EVENT LINK

Completing the full web event will provide you with some rewards, although developers Mihoyo have not shared what these are yet.

And for most gamers, the launch of the Kazuha Banner will be the main draw for the remainder of June.

WHEN IS THE KAZUHA BANNER COMING OUT?

The Genshin Impact Kazuha Banner release date has not been confirmed by developers Mihoyo yet but is expected to arrive around Tuesday, June 29.

If this is the correct date, we should out more regarding the launch schedule from the Genshin support sometime over the coming days.

As always, this will be a global launch, meaning that some gamers might get access on different days, depending on if the launch time falls before or after midnight.

And before that happens, there will be one more event going live for PS4, PS5, PC and Mobile gamers to enjoy.

The Legend of the Vagabond Sword will offer fresh challenges to gamers, with Mihoyo telling fans this week:

“The gate to an unknown domain has opened, and within it await powerful, heretofore unseen foes.

“Draw your sword and enact your legend with the fearless spirit of a wandering warrior. Starting from day 1 of the event, a new challenge will become available each day. On day 7, all challenge stages will be unlocked. Travelers can choose to take on this challenge solo or Co-Op.

“Certain characters will deal increased DMG upon entering the challenge. Each challenge will provide boosts for different characters.

“Kaedehara Kazuha will be available in the “Leaves in the Wind” Event Wish, please stay tuned for future notices regarding its starting date.”

This new event will be kicking off later today and will include a number of rewards for those Genshin Impact fans who complete the necessary requirements.

Genshin Impact 1.6 release date includes more than the Klee Banner

Next week is a big one for Genshin Impact fans, with the new 1.6 update scheduled to launch across PS4, PC and Mobile platforms.

The good news is that a delay now seems very unlikely, and we should see the patch roll out after some lengthy maintenance.

The Genshin Impact 1.6 release date will also include several exciting new content updates, including the start of the Klee Banner.

A new five-star character would normally be the highlight of a new launch day for Genshin impact, but some other important stuff is also happening.

The key to Genshin’s long-term success is building a healthy community with a sustainable population.

And the best way to do that is to have Genshin Impact available on as many platforms as possible.

The game is supposed to be coming to Nintendo Switch at some point and can already be downloaded on the biggest platform – Mobile.

But developers Mihoyo are doing something a little differently by releasing Genshin Impact on the Epic Games Store.

This will be happening on June 9 the same day Genshin Impact 1.6 is expected to be released.

To celebrate Genshin Impact’s arrival on the Epic Games Store, a free bonus bundle will be available to better prepare Travelers for upcoming adventures in the world of Teyvat.

Players will be able to claim the in-game bonus with the redemption code “GenshinEpic” starting June 9 for a limited time.

Co-Op support for PlayStation, PC, Android, and iOS is confirmed, and existing players on PC, Android, and iOS can continue their journey on the Epic Games Store platform.

“When developing Genshin Impact, one of our main focuses has been to make the game available on a wide range of platforms so players can play alone or together with friends regardless of how they choose to play it,” said Forrest Liu, President of miHoYo.

“The Epic Games Store is an expert in PC gaming, and we’re privileged to work with Epic to bring Genshin Impact to a broader global gaming community.”

The Klee Banner will be the start of the show for many Genshin fans on June 9 but opening the game to another large PC platform will no doubt help build the fanbase further.

Mihoyo has also revealed plans for after the 1.6 launch, with Kaedehara Kazuha set to become the first playable character from Inazuma, as well as being the bridge to the Archon Quest and the game’s new chapter.

The Midsummer Island Adventure main event will be divided into four stages, each featuring unique gameplay. In the first stage, players need to sail on the Waverider and destroy enemy floating towers and encampments, either through firing your boat’s cannon or in close combat.

And for those waiting on the Genshin Impact 1.6 Redeem Codes, Here are the latest sourced from today’s livestream:

WTNTBYSZJNRD – includes 100 Primogems, 10 Mystic Enhancement Ores.

8A6ABHTH2N9Z – includes 100 Primogems, 5 Hero’s Wits.

UTNBBGSZ3NQM – includes 100 Primogems, 50000 Mora.
