Holly has giggling fit as Phil teaser her over 'No pants' comment

A chat about pants and pyjamas caused Holly Willoughby to squirm and giggle her way through This Morning today.

The presenting duo were back for the second episode of the week of the popular mid-morning show on ITV.

The pair are famed for their relaxed nature to the show – and often falling about giggling about pretty much anything.

They were joined by regulars Nick Ferrari and Giles Brandreth for the regular discussions about what’s making the news today.

As well as having a chat about the goings on with England and Scotland players in the Euros, self isolation and hope for holidays, the pair also took a glance at what you wear under your nightwear.

Holly started it off, saying they were discussing something journalist Susannah Constantine was talking about on her podcast, My Wardrobe Malfunction – whether you should wear pants under pyjamas.

“Susanna said that she sometimes did, but Emma Barnett, who’s the host of BBC Woman’s Hour, was resolute that knickers should always be worn under PJs, however listeners did not agree.

“One wrote ‘never knickers under PJs, or a nightdress. Fresh air, please!'”

Giles Brandreth jumped in first, saying he slept naked, and asserting that Phillip Schofield did as well – as the camera cut to a smirking look on Phil’s face.

He added: “I believe the whole point of going to bed is freedom.”

Nick Ferrari added that he went to bed covered: “Think of Alastair Sim, in A Christmas Carol, in a full length nightshirt, and a little cap, that’s how I go to bed each night. Completely and utterly covered at all times.

And Phil took his chance to make his co-presenter and friend squirm on national TV.

“You started this” Phil teased – to which she hit back “I did not start this!”

Asking her while suppressing a giggle, he said: “Do you wear pants under pyjamas?”

And Holly took it in her stride as she replied: “no pants, no pants”

She added: “no pants” as Giles said: “No pants please, we’re British.”

And Holly squirmed as she said: “stop making me say pants on TV,” and the pair of them collapsed into laughter.

I suppose the question is – do you wear pants or not under pyjamas? Let us know in the comments, but please… keep it clean!

Queen Elizabeth & Princess Margaret’s holiday antics left them ‘giggling like school girls

Balmoral Castle, in Scotland, is a favourite summertime haunt for the Royal Family. Queen Elizabeth travels to the castle every summer to enjoy her end of season break.

Queen Elizabeth is often out and about walking through the rolling hillsides with her beloved dogs.

Camilla Tominey, associate editor of the Daily Telegraph said: “The Queen likes nothing better in the summer holidays than to be up in the Scottish highlands, up with the dogs.”

Her mother, the Queen Mother, meanwhile, was often found enjoying local sports alongside Prince Philip.

Ms Tominey continued: “Her mother, the Queen Mother was a very accomplished fly fisherwoman and indeed Prince Philip used to love fly fishing on the River Dee in Scotland.

“So going out and enjoying country pursuits was the royals’ idea of a holiday.”

There are some indoor activities the Queen is said to enjoy too, although they may be surprising to some.

“She just likes to live an ordinary life,” he said.

“So whether it is washing up the dishes after a picnic on the hillside, or whether it’s putting together a jigsaw puzzle, or making herself a very stiff gin and tonic in the evenings that is the life the Queen wants.”

Queen Elizabeth usually travels up to Balmoral every August to enjoy some time off.

Typically she would go alongside Prince Philip who passed away on April 9, 2021.

It is not clear whether or not Her Majesty will make her journey to Balmoral this year, or who may accompany her.

The Queen usually travels to Balmoral via the royal train.
