Holly Willoughby: This Morning host sparks frenzy as she models paper-thin blue dress

She went on to add: “[It was] one line. I had a few scenes, but one line and I couldn’t get it out but I had a really good day.”

Back in March 2021, This Morning presenting duo Phillip and Holly welcomed Midsomer Murders stars Neil Dudgeon and Nick Hendrix onto the show.

During their chat, Holly admitted that she was a huge fan of the show and has seen “every episode”.

It was then Neil said: “We’ve all had a big talk about who we want to appear and we’ve decided we want Holly Willoughby to appear in an episode of Midsomer Murders very soon.

“I’ve been speaking to people upstairs and they’ve been speaking to your people.”

Holly has giggling fit as Phil teaser her over 'No pants' comment

A chat about pants and pyjamas caused Holly Willoughby to squirm and giggle her way through This Morning today.

The presenting duo were back for the second episode of the week of the popular mid-morning show on ITV.

The pair are famed for their relaxed nature to the show – and often falling about giggling about pretty much anything.

They were joined by regulars Nick Ferrari and Giles Brandreth for the regular discussions about what’s making the news today.

As well as having a chat about the goings on with England and Scotland players in the Euros, self isolation and hope for holidays, the pair also took a glance at what you wear under your nightwear.

Holly started it off, saying they were discussing something journalist Susannah Constantine was talking about on her podcast, My Wardrobe Malfunction – whether you should wear pants under pyjamas.

“Susanna said that she sometimes did, but Emma Barnett, who’s the host of BBC Woman’s Hour, was resolute that knickers should always be worn under PJs, however listeners did not agree.

“One wrote ‘never knickers under PJs, or a nightdress. Fresh air, please!'”

Giles Brandreth jumped in first, saying he slept naked, and asserting that Phillip Schofield did as well – as the camera cut to a smirking look on Phil’s face.

He added: “I believe the whole point of going to bed is freedom.”

Nick Ferrari added that he went to bed covered: “Think of Alastair Sim, in A Christmas Carol, in a full length nightshirt, and a little cap, that’s how I go to bed each night. Completely and utterly covered at all times.

And Phil took his chance to make his co-presenter and friend squirm on national TV.

“You started this” Phil teased – to which she hit back “I did not start this!”

Asking her while suppressing a giggle, he said: “Do you wear pants under pyjamas?”

And Holly took it in her stride as she replied: “no pants, no pants”

She added: “no pants” as Giles said: “No pants please, we’re British.”

And Holly squirmed as she said: “stop making me say pants on TV,” and the pair of them collapsed into laughter.

I suppose the question is – do you wear pants or not under pyjamas? Let us know in the comments, but please… keep it clean!

Holly Willoughby shares excitement on Midsomer Murders set in role away from This Morning

Holly frowned, looking unconvinced, and replied: “Come on!”

DCI John Barnaby actor Neil then mischievously joked in reference to the cast’s acting pedigree: “That’s never held us back in Midsomer!”

Joining in on the joke, Nick quipped: “Neil’s been doing it for 10 years, come on in!”

“You’ll be fine,” Neil agreed, while Holly and Phillip burst into giggles over his remark.

Holly then added that she can only see herself having a small part in the series, saying: “I’ll just walk through the back of shots slightly.”

'Why is that important' Holly Willoughby probes doctor on getting second Covid jabs

For the two-dose vaccines, receiving one dose does provide a person with some protection, though the full extent of the protection or how long it might last is still unknown. Receiving only one dose is not as useful as receiving the full second dose. Given the spread of the virus and the serious health risk it poses, the second dose is strongly recommended said experts.

“We might have to have a booster for elderly and at risk in autumn. If we get that right that will be an imprint step forward.”

“We need to help our friends around the world where it’s hard to get these vaccines out there.

“Facilitating the global vaccination programme to get on top of this disease.”

DON’T MISS

When Holly asked why it is important that the evidence is based on symptomatic disease and asked what exactly that means.

Professor Heneghan answered: “It means that in the community what its actually done lowered the people who have actually have symptoms, the cough and the fever, it will actually reduce this so that is really good news.

“The most important aspect of what you want to do is to really reduce the severe disease, the hospitalisations and the deaths.

The three vaccines currently available in the UK are all designed to work across two doses, said the British Heart Foundation.

The site added: “Having two doses leads to a stronger, better immune response from your body and a longer-lasting protection. It is important that everyone gets two doses.

“For those who are over 50 or clinically vulnerable, the recommendation in the UK is now that you have your vaccine 8 weeks after your first dose. This is due to the rise of the Indian variant of Covid-19 in the UK.

“For those who are under 50, your second dose of the coronavirus vaccine will be offered to you within 12 weeks of your first.

“If you had the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, your second dose will be three to 12 weeks after the first. For the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, your second dose will be four to 12 weeks after your first.”

The star was alerted to the situation in the comments section of her snap by fans after she shared an insight into her day off.

The ITV favourite had shared the image after she spotted the foam from her bubble bath had created a pretty heart shape in the water.

However, most fans were distracted by their concerns about Holly’s reflection.

Holly Willoughby became emotional on Tuesday’s This Morning as she spoke to Laura Sugden who has her life turned upside down by a recluse neighbour.

The mum was described as ‘brave’ by the ITV presenter after appearing on the show to share her heartbreaking story.

Laura, who was five months pregnant at the time, openly shared how the horrific attack cost her unborn child’s dad his life.

Laura’s partner Shane Gilmer was shot with a crossbow by neighbour Anthony Lawrence at his home near Driffield on January 12, 2018. Read more here.

Deranged neighbour Lawrence lay in wait for Laura and boyfriend after breaking into their home via shared loft by removing bricks.

The killer was later found dead in a vehicle, but Laura has confessed she wish she could have shot him herself.

Holly said: “You say the only thing that’s helped you cope is the birth of your daughter and having her…”

Laura said: “Oh yeah absolutely, she’s incredible.”

Holly added: “Your strength in being able to sit here and tell your story is incredible, I can’t imagine how difficult this is for you.”

The pair glanced at one and other with teary eyes but Laura appeared to feel comforted by the mother-of-three Holly.

Laura became emotional when discussing both her partner Shane and daughter, but appeared stern and angry when discussing Lawrence.

Describing the full terror of that night in January 2018, Laura told how she found her “odd, hermit” neighbour hiding in the bedroom of her then three-year-old daughter Isabelle who was staying with family overnight.

She and Shane, housing workers with East Riding of Yorkshire Council in Beverley, had just got home after a Friday date night at Gino D’Acampo’s Hull restaurant, where they talked excitedly about their wedding plans and their impending baby, when Laura spotted a dark stain on her upstairs hall carpet.

Suspicious, she gingerly pushed open the door of her daughter’s room to find murderous Lawrence wearing a head torch in the darkened room and pointing his crossbow at her.

Laura said: “I had this feeling somebody was in. No, I had the feeling that HE was in my house.

“When I opened the bedroom door, the light from the bathroom shone into the room and I could see it was Tony and that he had something in his hand. I thought at first it was a gun.”

Sudgen told Holly and Phillip Schofield that Lawrence’s death does not bring justice to her family, and she wish she could have shot him herself.

“There’s no justice. There wouldn’t have been any justice if he would have survived, if he had been here.

“I don’t think prison would have been enough and it certainly would have left me unsettled forever.

“I think I would have felt something more if I had been able to put that bolt in him at that time.”

Laura is now campaigning for tighter regulations around crossbows, which can easily be bought online for around £150.

Her calls are now backed by Shadow Home Secretary Nick Thomas-Symonds.

Laura’s appearance on the show was driven to spread awareness of crossbows, and the frightening reality that people are able to buy them so easily.

She said: “Yes, there’s no regulations to have a crossbow.

“That’s what my campaign is for to ensure that they have the same regulations as what it is for having a shotgun.

“They are just as fatal, caused a number of injuries, and ruined families.”

“I’m not going to ever stop anybody being murdered ever again that’s not what I am trying to do but there’s not really a purpose for a crossbow to be had.

“And if there is what I am trying to achieve is not going to prevent that, they just have to obtain a license to have one.”

To which Holly replied: “Which is a perfectly reasonable request considering it ruined your family.”

The campaign is called #shaneslaw and is said by Laura to be found across social media, or the UK Parliament website.

It has amassed 20,000 signatures in 24 hours.
