Pirates of the Caribbean 6: Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow 'will be made fun of' in new film

Johnny Depp‘s role in the next Pirates of the Caribbean has not yet been revealed. Disney have remained quiet about what will happen in the sixth outing for the billion-dollar franchise so far, except for a couple of key details. Disney insider Daniel Richtman has now claimed a new key part of the new film will focus on making Captain Jack Sparrow a joke.
The insider has spoken out about some upcoming Disney projects in the past with middling results.

His latest claims read: “Disney wants [the] new Pirates movie to make fun of Jack Sparrow.”

As usual, the tipster hasn’t left any further details about what this means, but a lot of information can be gleaned from his comment.

First of all, it is important to note that Depp has not yet been officially removed from the franchise.

Rumours have circulated repeatedly that Depp will not be reprising his role in Pirates of the Caribbean 6, following a public court battle.

The Hollywood star fought a newspaper’s claims he was a “wife-beater”. These claims were backed up by his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

In the midst of the court battle, Depp was asked by Warner Brothers to step down from his Harry Potter role of Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts series. Since then, it has been speculated Depp would also be asked to leave the Disney franchise, but no official word has come yet.

Also, further rumours have suggested the next Pirates of the Caribbean film is going to be a reboot.

What’s more, the new film will be penned by Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson.

On her casting, Robbie explained there will be lots of “girl power” in the series. She added: “It’s too early to talk about it. I love Christina, obviously.

“I’m not a producer on Pirates, so I’ll sit back and kind of wait for the process. We’re really, really excited at the prospect of adding obviously a very key female element to that world.”

Again, news of Depp’s involvement with Robbie’s film has been scarce.

Last year executive producer of the Pirates series Jerry Bruckheimer mentioned the legendary character’s part in the new film.

He told Collider: “The one we’re developing right now, we’re not sure quite what Johnny’s role is going to be.”

He added: “So, we’re going to have to see.”

The Pirates of the Caribbean films are available on Disney Plus now.

Chris Pratt Shares Rare Selfie With Son Jack, 8, & Daughter Lyla, 8 Mos., During ‘Baby Time’

Author: Allison Swan
This post originally appeared on Hollywood Life

Chris Pratt is making sure his kids Jack and Lyla will grow up with a strong bond. The proud dad shared a selfie of a cuddle session to his Instagram Story on April 29 and the pic is too cute.

Chris Pratt is on daddy duty!  The Jurassic World star, 41, posted a sweet photo of his two kids getting close on his social media page. It’s seems clear he’s encouraging a solid connection between the siblings.

Chris, who shares his son Jack, 8, with his first wife Anna Faris, welcomed his 8-month-old daughter Lyla in August 2020, with current wife Katherine Schwarzenegger. The Guardians of the Galaxy actor rarely shares photos of his kids, so the pic is a special treat for fans.

In the selfie, Chris is relaxing on a beige couch by the fireplace with his two little ones snuggled in close beside him. Lyla appears to be clutching a toy and is faced towards her big brother Jack, who was pictured in a red shirt with his back to the camera. The Parks and Rec alum captioned the post, “Baby time.”

Although Chris stares directly into the camera for the photo,  only the tops of his kids’ heads are shown because Chris and Katherine are determined to guard their kids’ privacy.

In fact, they have a policy not to show their faces, a decision that Katherine explained during an interview with the TODAY  show in March. “Obviously, I didn’t grow up with social media being a thing at all, so it’s a little bit different in that way just because I feel like we share so much in today’s world,” she explained. “But I think one of the greatest gifts that my parents [Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger] ever gave me and my siblings is the gift of privacy and having a really normal upbringing, or as normal of an upbringing as possible.”

In addition to protecting their kids’ privacy, Chris and Katherine have also made a big effort to make sure they are one big happy family with his ex Anna.  And luckily Anna is on the same page. She even sent a gift when baby Lyla was born. Anna couldn’t be happier that Jack’s now a big brother, a source told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY!

“Anna’s very excited for Jack to have a little sister. She’s very close to her older brother [Robert Faris], so she’s just thrilled that Jack will have a sibling,” the source said. “She’s been helping prepare Jack to be a big brother and he’s very proud.” The insider added that Jack was “so happy” after little sister Lyla was born. So sweet!

Ant Group explores options for Jack Ma to exit, as Beijing unsheathes its sword against China’s big tech

Fintech company Ant Group, an affiliate of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, is reportedly looking for an efficient way for its founder Jack Ma to divest his stake and give up control of the company.

The talks between the Chinese state regulator and Ant Group that took place between January and March signaled to the company that Ma’s exit could help draw a line under Beijing’s scrutiny of its business, according to sources familiar with the matter, as cited by Reuters.

Earlier this year, officials from the People’s Bank of China and the financial regulator, China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, held a series of meetings with Ma and Ant Group, respectively. A source familiar with the regulator’s thinking and another with close ties to the company told Reuters that the parties discussed the possibility of the billionaire’s exit.

The company has denied that the prospect of Ma’s quitting was ever under consideration, however. “Divestment of Mr. Ma’s stake in Ant Group has never been the subject of discussions with anyone,” a spokesman said in a statement.

According to one of the sources, the corporation hopes that Ma’s multi-billion-dollar stake could be sold either to existing investors in Ant Group or its former parent company, Alibaba Group Holding, without involving any external entity.

Transferring Ma’s stake to a Chinese investor affiliated with the state is reportedly seen as another option. Another source assured the agency that Ma was told the regulators would not allow him to sell the stake to any entity or individual close to him.

The unconfirmed news comes a week after China’s antitrust regulators hit Alibaba Group, the world’s largest e-commerce corporation, with an 18.23 billion yuan ($ 2.8-billion) fine for abusing its dominant market position in China’s online retail platform service market.

Alibaba and its affiliate became the subject of intense scrutiny by Beijing after Ma, who founded both organizations, publicly criticized the Chinese regulator, accusing officials of having a “pawnshop mentality” that stunted business growth and innovation.

Ant Group owns China’s largest digital payment platform, Alipay, which serves more than a billion users and 80 million merchants, with a total payment volume totaling 118 trillion yuan ($ 17 trillion) in June 2020.

Ant’s initial public offering, which was about to raise an estimated $ 37 billion – the world’s largest IPO – was abruptly halted last year over regulatory concerns.

Christie Brinkley, 67, Rocks A Strapless Black Swimsuit On The Beach With Son Jack, 25 — Pics

Hot mom alert! Christie Brinkley looked incredible while wearing a one-piece swimsuit for a photo shoot on the beach with her son, Jack Brinkley-Cook.

Christie Brinkley[1], 67, spent some quality time with her middle child, Jack Brinkley-Cook, at the beach on April 11. The model took to Instagram to share some sweet shots of her bonding time with the 25-year-old. In the pics, she’s wearing a strapless, one-piece swimsuit, along with a skirt around her waist as a cover-up. Jack is shirtless in his swimsuit, and the two are posing by the water with big smiles.

“I’ve got SONSHINE on a cloudy day,” Christie captioned the pic. “I love you @jackbrinkleycook.” Christie and Jack struck various poses in the photos, with the 67-year-old wearing a floppy hat on her head, as well. Jack is Christie’s son from her third marriage to Richard Taubman. She also shares a daughter, Alexa Ray Joel, with second husband Billy Joel, and daughter, Sailor Brinkley-Cook, with her third husband, Peter Cook, who she divorced in 2008.

Christie has been spending quite a bit of time at the beach recently, and loves sharing photos from her travels on social media. At the end of 2020, Christie had hip replacement surgery[2] to alleviate pain that that stemmed from a helicopter crash she was in in 1994. After the procedure, she revealed that she had taken up swimming as her primary source of exercise to increase her mobility — so the beach has been the perfect place for her recovery! Of course, it doesn’t hurt that it’s the perfect place to soak up the sun[3] and relax, too.

It appears that Sailor is also with Christie and Jack on this latest getaway, as she’s been sharing beach photos on[4] her own Instagram page recently, too. On April 10, she posted a picture of herself lounging in the sand while wearing a bikini — and she looked just like her mom’s mini-me. Like Christie, Sailor has taken up modeling, and she’s definitely following in her legendary mother’s footsteps.

Tiger Woods 'distractions' have stopped him surpassing Jack Nicklaus ahead of The Masters

Tiger Woods fans – and sport fans in general – all held a collective gasp when news broke that the legendary golfer had been involved in a scary car crash. Footage from the wreck soon revealed the true extent and horror that Woods must have gone through as he crashed in Southern California.
The 45-year-old was fortunately concious and alert when paramedics arrived at the scene to pull him out through the windshield, where he was soon taken off to hospital to undergo surgery immediately on his legs.

Will Woods be able to ever play again? – That was a question golf fans were asking all over the world.

But two-time US Open winner Curtis Strange admits he was left wondering over Woods’ health as a whole.

“First thing when you hear car wreck is did he make it through,” he told Express Sport.

JUST IN: Tiger Woods speaks out for first time in touching message after crash

“Then you see the film of it that first day and I just said, ‘how did he survive?’.

“He did thankfully and now it’s just a waiting game but it was shock and it’s not the first time he has shocked us all.”

We’re still yet to have a full answer in the week that The Masters gets underway – the scene of arguably Woods’ greatest accomplishment.

It was only two years ago when Woods rolled back the years with a masterful performance at Augusta to win his 15th major and his first since 2008.

DON’T MISS

Nobody expected that victory at Torrey Pines nearly 13 years ago to be Woods’ final major win for over a decade.

And Strange, who now serves as a lead analyst for ESPN’s golf coverage, finds it “sad” that Woods never fulfilled his full potential.

“It’s sad that he’s had these troubles because he was on a path to do extraordinary things in this game, more so than he did,” he added.

“I think we all thought he was going to win 22 or 24 majors at one point.

“I know he’s back in home now, resting, trying to heal,” Strange added.

“With all the talks to doctors and how serious this is with his leg, at this point of time, I think we have to worry about his health and not that he might play golf again.

“Will he walk without a gait? Will he be able to swing a golf club and shift his weight?

“Who I’ve talked to, the leg should be ok, it’s the ankle and will that move properly.

“I just wish him well and he can come back and live a normal life.”

Gareth Southgate must avoid Jack Grealish Euros mistake – England need Aston Villa star

I know it’s a busy day Up There but a quiet Easter Sunday prayer should anyone be available. Please God, let Gareth Southgate’s list of horrible phone calls not include Jack Grealish.
Grealish has a mind which contains a Pandora’s Box of possibilities and a tool box which can turn those thoughts into reality for England but out of sight can become out of mind. With Grealish absent from Southgate’s most recent international squad because of injury, there is a danger that the England manager’s attention may have shifted elsewhere.

Southgate had to be dragged kicking and screaming to include Grealish in the first place back last September, remember.

But if the Poland victory showed anything – apart from that some prayer space also needs to be reserved ahead of the Euros for John Stones good days – it was that England need Grealish. Not as a starter but as a match-turner off the bench.

It took 86 minutes for England to bring on a substitute against the Poles. That was Reece James for Phil Foden as Southgate moved to a back five to shore up the defence after Harry Maguire had just given them the lead.

Up until then, with England chasing a goal which stubbornly refused to come, nothing.

Southgate considered his alternative options but rejected them all. The outcome justified his decision to stick rather than twist but looking forward it is a concern.

It was a substitute – Eder – whose goal won Portugal the Euros against France in extra time five years ago. This time around, with an expanded five permitted per team, bench firepower is likely to be even more important.

The lack of incendiary options at Southgate’s disposal at Wembley on Wednesday night makes the case for Grealish for the Euros unanswerable.

He is a lock picker who can pull a tiring defence to pieces.

His form for Aston Villa before the shin injury which has kept him out of the club’s last six games has been outstanding. For England too he has more than looked the part.

The highlights reel flick which nonplussed Thomas Meunier against Belgium in November was high-class showmanship but with a purpose. It won Grealish and England space. That level of imagination and implementation could make all the difference at the Euros.

Southgate’s insistence he will select an attacking-minded 23 with a maximum of eight defenders sounds promising.

His reservation, if he is thinking of Grealish as an impact player rather than a starter, is how a sub tag will sit with an individual who is used to being a leading man rather than a support actor.

The England manager already knows his preferred 23 but it will be subject to adjustment for injuries before it has to be confirmed publicly on June 1.

They can strike anywhere at inconvenient moments as Grealish has found. But while his six-week absence has no doubt been a personal frustration and sapping for Aston Villa, it may prove a blessing in terms of a summer international tournament.

When others are on their knees after congested domestic seasons Grealish, who is slated to return today for his club against Fulham, should be in good shape for England.

A fresh Grealish trotting onto the pitch, socks round his ankles with half an hour left and a tournament in the balance?

No defence in Europe will want to see that.

My England XI to face Croatia in the opening game of the Euros: Pickford; Alexander-Arnold, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; J Henderson, Foden, Mount; Rashford, Kane, Sterling.

Substitutes: D Henderson, Pope, Chilwell, Mings, Coady, Walker, Rice, Sako, Grealish, Ward-Prowse, Calvert-Lewin, Sancho.

Emotional Jack Charlton documentary set to raise £1million for dementia charity

A moving film showing Jack Charlton’s struggle with dementia is on course to raise £1million for charity.

The 1966 World Cup winner’s son John said the £851,515 made so far after the screening of Finding Jack Charlton has been donated to the Alzheimer’s Society. And his family has vowed to continue their support for the cause, and cancer research.

The documentary captured the Leeds football legend in the final months of his life.

John, of Ponteland, Newcastle[1], said: “Everyone who saw the film has said how moved they were by it. There were grown men with a tear in their eye.

“I have had fans from many of his former clubs get in touch.”

The 63-year-old revealed the £851,515 had been donated in Ireland – more than €1million.

In one clip from last week’s BBC show, Jack’s wife of 62 years Pat says to her husband: “They think a lot of you, don’t they, in Ireland?” Clearly confused, he replies: “I have no idea.”

Pat, who met the player when he was a teenager at Elland Road, said later: “It’s a shame because he had some good memories.”

Jack was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2019 and died on July 10 last year, aged 85.

The Mirror has called for Jack to be awarded a posthumous knighthood[2].

Adam Levine Pops Up On ‘SNL’ For Surprise Performance Of ‘Same Guy’ With Jack Harlow

Adam Levine surprised ‘SNL’ fans with an unexpected appearance! The superstar sounded amazing performing alongside Jack Harlow.

Jack Harlow[1], 23, slayed his Saturday Night Live[2] debut on March 27 — and he had one very special guest: Adam Levine[3], 42! The Maroon 5 singer appears on Jack’s debut studio album Thats What They All Say on the track “Same Guy,” which they performed together at Studio 8H. Jack, wearing a pink satin button down, diamond chain and white t-shirt, started his low key performance solo as Adam popped out for his verse.

“I can’t keep lettin’ s— slide (Can’t keep lettin’ s— slide)/Thought that I would change, but I’m the same guy,” Adam — wearing an army green jacket and black sweatpants — crooned. “Blamed it on my youth, but I know I’ve had time (Had time)/Now when it comes to you and I (Ooh), all that I ever did was tell lies/Am I gon’ keep this up ’til I die? (Up ’til I die),” he duetted alongside Jack. Adam also sported a hard-to-get pair of Dior’s Air Jordan collaborations[8], which have retailed for up to $ 20K on eBay.

Twitter erupted in excitement with Adam’s surprise appearance! “Adam Levine breaking into this song on SNL like Andy adding his vocals to Hunters song in the Dinner Party. No one asked, it’s just happens. #SNL #theoffice #dinnerparty,” one person tweeted. “adam levine literally just appearing on snl out of thin air,” another wrote, while other fans said his vocals were “fire.” While many were thrilled to see the singer, some were curious about his choice to wear quarantine attire and longer hair on stage. “Good on Adam Levine for showing up during the musical guest segment of SNL still apparently rocking a do-it-yourself pandemic haircut,” another wrote.

Adam Levine isn’t the only big name on Jack’s debut album, which also includes features by rappers Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, late R&B star Static Major, and, of course, Chris Brown. Chris and Jack teamed up for the sexy R&B tune “Already Best Friends,”[16] which they dropped a video for on March 11. In the video, the pair party it up in Mexico surrounding by women as they sing about their newfound friendship and menage-a-trois.

The Maya Rudolph[17] episode was full of surprises, with Martin Short appearing as Kamala Harris‘ husband Doug Emhoff[18] for a hilarious Passover Seder sketch[19]. In the bit, Martin’s Doug unfortunately gets attacked by Joe Biden’s dog Major — and later plants a big kiss on Kamala’s Maya. The hilarious episode also included cameos by Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig and Rachel Dratch.
