‘Come on Gasquet’ – Cameron Norrie jokes about backing Roger Federer Wimbledon exit

'Come on Gasquet' - Cameron Norrie jokes about backing Roger Federer Wimbledon exit

“If it’s a time to play Roger, now is probably the best time I guess but he’s still a decent player. He still can play.”

Norrie has been in excellent form of late after reaching the final at Queen’s last month before losing to Matteo Barrettini.

His match against Bolt was the first time Norrie was playing on a main court at Wimbledon and he certainly enjoyed the occasion with the fans getting on his side.

“Unbelievable to back at Wimbledon this year,” Norrie added.

Joe Biden jokes about running over journalist asking question on Israel-Palestine crisis

Joe Biden jokes about running over journalist asking question on Israel-Palestine crisis
US President Joe Biden spoke to reporters while test driving the Ford F-150 Lightning at the carmaker’s factory in Michigan. A reporter asked: “Mr. President, can I ask you a quick question on Israel before you drive away since it’s so important?” He replied: “No you can’t. Not unless you get in front of the car as I step on it.”
He later added: “I’m only teasing” which reporters appeared to laugh at.

Fox News host Sean Hannity later said: “Imagine the moral outrage if it was Donald Trump but Biden, he always gets a pass.”

His comments were echoed by former Nevada GOP Chairwoman Amy Tarkanian who said: “Joe Biden just threatened to run a reporter over with a car for wanting to ask a question about Israel.

“If President Trump had done this, he would have been impeached. Jokingly or not, this rhetoric is completely unbecoming of the President.”

While Conservative podcast host Stephen L Miller wrote on Twitter: “Biden joking about running down a reporter for asking about Israel in an F-150 truck is a pretty good tell about just how performative the ‘how dare he’ fainting spells of the past 4 years actually were.’

“While America’s most important Middle East ally is under attack, Joe Biden threatened to run over a reporter for asking a question about it,’ National Republican Senatorial Committee campaign worker Jonathan Turcotte said.

“And this is the takeaway from the totally unbiased media. What a joke.”

At a rally in Dearborn, the heart of Michigan’s Arab-American community, over 1,000 people gathered a few miles away from Biden’s event and booed at mentions of the Democratic president’s name.

Israeli airstrikes have pounded densely populated Gaza day and night since the conflict flared on May 10, while residents in Israeli cities race for shelters or safe rooms, if they have them, every few hours or minutes to flee militant rockets.

Mr Biden has privately pressed for a ceasefire in the more than week-long conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Islamist group in the Palestinian territories. His aides have said they are aggressively pursuing behind-the-scenes diplomacy to bring the conflict to an end.

That is not enough for some Democrats, who want Biden to denounce the disproportionate casualties suffered in the Palestinian territories during the conflict and to reconsider the weapons and other assistance it provides Israel, Washington’s closest ally in the turbulent region.

Dawood Ali, 21, at the demonstration said: “He should not be supporting them.”

Ali, who voted for Biden, said he regrets doing so.

Speakers on the stage shared similar sentiments, saying they felt courted – and then disrespected – by Biden.

Reuters/Ipsos polling showed that Biden won Muslim voters by 8 percentage points in his 2020 race against Republican President Donald Trump, who had been a stalwart defender of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on all fronts.

Turnout among those voters in Michigan rose 6 percentage points to 71 percent in 2020 from 65 percent in the 2016 presidential race, according to Emgage, a Muslim-American voting group.

January Jones, 43, Wears Just Sunglasses & Pink Pants As She Jokes She ‘Can’t Find A Top’ — See Pic

January Jones, 43, Wears Just Sunglasses & Pink Pants As She Jokes She ‘Can’t Find A Top’ — See Pic

January Jones couldn’t ‘find a top’ that would perfectly match her pink pants. So, the ‘Madmen’ star ditched one altogether and went topless for a fun photo.

January Jones, 43, loves her new pants so much, she couldn’t find a top to match its energy. So, she decided to forego one and pose topless for a selfie that The Last Man on Earth star shared on April 16. “Can’t find a top to do these trousers justice so…,” January captioned the cheeky photo, which showed her covering her bosom while rocking Rodarte’s SS21 Pink Heart Pocket Wide Leg Trousers. January completed the mood with a pair of Celine cat-eyed sunglasses — a retro accessory, much like something we could imagine her character Betty Draper wearing on fun occasions.

Rodarte shared the same photo on its Instagram page, and January jumped into the brand’s comments section to cheekily comment, “Classy.” On January’s own Instagram page, fans left their thoughts for the sultry look. “Don Draper, what were you thinking…,” one fan joked, referring to the unfaithful man whom January’s Madmen character was married to.

January did eventually find a shirt, though — one that Diplo claimed to once have. Later that Friday, January rocked a long-sleeved The Cure shirt (it looks like January’s a fan of ’80s new wave music). “I used to have that shirt,” Diplo wrote in the comments section. And apparently, Anderson .Paak used to have the pants that January was wearing in this second selfie, too. “@anderson._paak I stole your pants,” January captioned the photo, referring to the fact that she was wearing the same flared Gucci trousers that the Grammy-winning artist wore to the Grammy Awards on March 14.

January loves putting on little fashion shows in her Los Angeles home. On April 15, she shared a post of her “post shower photo op” taken in her sun-bathed bathroom. She looked lovely in a sheer knit white dress from Jonathan Simkhai, the type that’s perfect to wear while soaking in the spring sunshine.

As for how January is always looking so toned and glowing in her Instagram posts, the actress is a fan of Lagree Pilates. Right before the pandemic ended group fitness classes, the actress loved to take group classes for this method of full body conditioning. “Two or three years ago I started doing barre classes, and after that I took regular private Pilates lessons. Then a friend told me about Lagree Pilates. I’ve been doing it two to four times a week for the past year now, and I’ve gained weight because I’ve put on muscle. I’ve gone up a size in clothes, but I feel like I look better naked,” January told Shape magazine in Feb. 2020.

Martha Stewart, 79, Jokes She Got ‘A Lot Of Proposals’ After Sexy Pool ‘Thirst Trap’: ‘I Had To Ignore Them’

While appearing on ‘Ellen,’ Martha Stewart revealed just how much fans actually thirsted over her viral swimsuit photo. Even Howie Mandel ‘couldn’t stop looking at the picture.’

It wasn’t the only time Martha posted a thirst trap — or received a thirsty comment. Months later on Feb. 4, the cookbook author shared a glamorous selfie[5] of herself after a round with her beauty team. Drew Barrymore[6] couldn’t resist commenting, “Again, I don’t care if it’s inappropriate… YOU ARE SO HOT.” From Howie to Drew, the consensus is unanimous: Martha is hot!

Like Martha said, though, she is a busy woman. In 2020, she starred in a new HGTV show called Martha Knows Best which followed the star as she tackled gardening projects on her farm in New York.

‘Not my most gracious fall’: Stipe Miocic JOKES about brutal KO in first statement since losing UFC heavyweight title to Ngannou

‘Not my most gracious fall’: Stipe Miocic JOKES about brutal KO in first statement since losing UFC heavyweight title to Ngannou

Dethroned UFC heavyweight Stipe Miocic has issued a first public statement since his crushing KO defeat to Francis Ngannou in their title fight at UFC 260 in Las Vegas last weekend.

Cameroonian powerhouse Ngannou finished Miocic in the second round of their main event contest, first catching him with a straight left hand then following up with another concussive strike and a hammerfist on his grounded opponent before the bout was called off.

Miocic had gamely attempted to recover from the initial blow from Ngannou, even catching his rival as he pushed forward, only to take more damage and crumble from the knees in one of the more excruciating-looking knockouts in recent UFC memory.

The 39-year-old Cleveland fighter may have lost his title and been temporarily relieved of his senses, but he certainly hasn’t relinquished his humor, updating fans with a message on Instagram in which he reflected on his defeat.

“First and foremost, I’m ok. I know that fall wasn’t my most graceful fall, but I was unconscious, so it happens,” Miocic wrote to his following of 1.5 million on Monday.

“To my family friends and fans, especially Croatia & Cleveland… I love you and I’m sorry. I hate letting you down. To my team, thank you. I know you feel every loss just as much as I do. We win as a family, we lose as a family. Losses aren’t fun, they always sting for a while, but that’s the beast of this business.

“You can’t win them all, and it’s important to understand that losing is just as much a part of sports (and life) as winning. Don’t ever forget God will always put you where you’re meant to be at that exact moment. You can’t dwell on what you should have done better, but you can learn and improve from it and come back more prepared next time.”

A cautious Miocic had been clearly outworked by the composed Ngannou in the first round at the UFC Apex, but claimed that he was starting to feel his rhythm before the concussive conclusion to the evening.

“Unfortunately, I deviated from game plan. I felt great coming into the second round, I saw it was beginning to go as planned,” Miocic wrote.

“He was getting very winded, and I came in overzealous and unprotected. I wasn’t in a good posture to take the hit. He saw the opening, and did what any great fighter would have done. That was my error that I accept, it won’t happen again.

“Lastly, I’d like to congratulate [Francis Ngannou] and his team on a well earned victory. Saturday night was your night, enjoy your victory! For now, I’m going to enjoy the down time, spend some time with my family, and welcome our son into the world this summer… stay tuned, God bless.”

Many will take that message to mean that Miocic is not contemplating calling it quits despite the devastating nature of his defeat on Saturday night.

The two-time champion is still widely recognized as among the greatest – if not the greatest – heavyweights ever to do it in the UFC, and holds the division record for the most successful consecutive title defenses in the promotion, with three.

Meanwhile Ngannou, 34, captured the title as well as revenge for the unanimous decision defeat he suffered to Miocic in their first title fight back in 2018.

After Saturday’s title coronation, the French-Cameroonian star vowed that he was ready for the immediate challenge of former longtime light-heavyweight ruler Jon Jones, who is stepping up to heavyweight in anticipation of a blockbuster showdown.

However, comments from Jones and UFC boss Dana White in the aftermath of Ngannou’s win have thrown that prospect into doubt, with the former proclaiming “show me the money” and the latter insinuating that Jones would in reality fear the challenge posed by the formidable Ngannou.

Another test for ‘The Predator’ could lie in former opponent Derrick Lewis, who outpointed Ngannou when the pair met in July 2018.

Since then, Ngannou has won all five of his trips to the octagon inside the opening two rounds – including Saturday’s title clash with Miocic.

UFC fan favorite Lewis, 36, is similarly famed for his punching prowess and is riding a run of four straight victories. ‘The Black Beast’ lost his previous shot at the heavyweight title when he was submitted by Daniel Cormier in December of 2018.

Jay Leno Apologizes for Years of Anti-Asian Jokes

Jay Leno Apologizes for Years of Anti-Asian Jokes

Jay Leno, the longtime “Tonight Show” host, apologized for a history of making anti-Asian jokes, saying that at the time he “genuinely thought them to be harmless” but now hopes for forgiveness from Asian-Americans.

The comedian said in a joint statement with the Media Action Network for Asian Americans, a watchdog group that tracks anti-Asian comments and incidents in the media and entertainment industries, that he had an attitude at the time that “some group is always complaining about something, so don’t worry about it.” Whenever the show received a complaint, he said, the response was divided into two camps: “We need to deal with this” or “screw ’em if they can’t take a joke.”

“Too many times I sided with the latter even when in my heart I knew it was wrong,” Mr. Leno said. “That is why I am issuing this apology. I do not consider this particular case to be another example of cancel culture but a legitimate wrong that was done on my part.”

It was a recent realization. In 2019, Mr. Leno, who hosted “The Tonight Show” from 1992 to 2014, made an offensive anti-Asian joke while filming a commercial for “America’s Got Talent,” the actor and producer Gabrielle Union told Variety[1].

MANAA, the watchdog group, had complained for decades[2] about Mr. Leno’s jokes that relied on stereotypes of Asians, to no avail. Rob Chan, the president of the group, said in the statement that he was “happy that Jay came around, and that we will be working together in the future.”

Mr. Leno is slated to host a rebooted game show, “You Bet Your Life,” starting in the fall.

Mr. Leno’s apology came as Asian-Americans have endured rising discrimination[3] and racist language[4] during the coronavirus pandemic, while also processing the trauma[5] of a recent mass shooting in the Atlanta area in which six of the eight victims were women of Asian descent. Mr. Leno said he would be “deeply hurt and ashamed if somehow my words did anything to incite this violence.”

Some Asian-Americans have long argued that their concerns about anti-Asian speech are frequently dismissed as trivial[6]. Asian-Americans have historically been underrepresented in Hollywood[7] and in comedy[8], and in 2016, a bit by the comedian Chris Rock that relied on Asian stereotypes made it to the Oscars ceremony[9].

While late-night comedians pick a variety of targets, it’s not the first time Mr. Leno has been criticized for jokes that got laughs at the time. Recently, a documentary about Britney Spears by The New York Times[10] brought increased scrutiny to jokes by several late-night hosts[11] about her mental health. Mr. Leno has not apologized to the singer, though others, including Justin Timberlake and some publications, have said they regret their behavior.

‘I’d pay 4.99 for this’: UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal jokes viral bikini-clad Miami street brawls should be on PPV (VIDEO)

‘I’d pay 4.99 for this’: UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal jokes viral bikini-clad Miami street brawls should be on PPV (VIDEO)

Jorge Masvidal knows a thing or two about fighting on the streets of Miami, which could explain his apparent glee at the spate of viral videos coming out of Florida showing a series of brawls between sets of scantily-clad women.

Masvidal, who is set to challenge UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman for a second time later this year, forged his fighting path on the streets of Miami by appearing in various streetfighting videos in years gone by alongside iconic puncher Kimbo Slice.

And despite ‘going legit’ since, it is clear that UFC veteran Masvidal is still fond of people throwing fists on the street – perhaps even more-so if they are the type of all-female fights of which footage has been filtering from Florida throughout Spring Break.

With some better camera work I’d pay 4.99 for this,” wrote Masvidal in response to one video which purports to have been recorded recently but was actually several years old.

However, despite the dated clip many are saying that it is representative of what has been transpiring in the state throughout Spring Break.

Miami Beach officials were forced to declare a state of emergency in the wake of numerous incidents similar to that in the above video, with a curfew also imposed in an attempt to curb anti-social behavior.

This marks the second year in succession that a state of emergency has been declared in Florida during Spring Break, with last year’s being due to throngs of crowds gathering despite restrictions in doing so due to the onset of Covid-19.

Florida has been at the forefront of a campaign to open back up from the various coronavirus guidelines which had temporarily closed the doors of many of its establishments, with Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber saying that this is a primary reason why the area is so choked with legions of twenty-something partygoers.

I think it is in part due to the fact that there are very few places open elsewhere in the country, or they’re too cold – or they’re not open and they’re too cold,” he said.

Local press has also indicated that revelers have caused serious damage to a large number of bars and restaurants in the Miami Beach region, with restaurateurs also complaining of repeated instances of groups of people leaving without paying their bill.
