Josh Duggar Granted Release as He Awaits Child Porn Trial

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A federal judge on Wednesday allowed former reality TV star Josh Duggar to be released as he awaits trial on charges that he downloaded and possessed child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Christy Comstock ordered Duggar, 33, confined to the home of family friends who have agreed to be his custodian during his release and prohibited Duggar from any Internet-accessible devices pending his July 6 trial on the child pornography charges.

Duggar was indicted on the federal child pornography charges on Friday, a day after U.S. Marshals arrested him. He has pleaded not guilty.

Duggar starred on TLC’s “19 Kids and Counting” until it was pulled from the network in 2015 following revelations that Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter. Duggar’s parents said he had confessed to the fondling and apologized.

Duggar previously apologized for a pornography addiction and cheating on his wife.

Comstock said that, during his release, Duggar could have contact with his children only with his wife present. But the judge said Duggar could not be around any other minors, including other family members.

During a four-hour hearing, a federal Homeland Security agent said pornographic images depicting the sexual abuse of children, including toddlers, had been downloaded in 2019 by a computer at a car dealership Duggar owned.

A monitoring program that sent reports to Duggar’s wife about his activity had been installed on the computer, but the images and videos were downloaded after software had been installed that allowed him to download them without being monitored.

Josh Duggar Accused Of Possessing Child Porn With Kids Aged 18 Mos.-12 Years At Court Hearing

The details of Josh Duggar’s alleged child porn stash have been revealed in a court hearing, and a federal agent called the images ‘in top five of the worst I’ve ever had to examine.’

In a Wednesday, May 5 court hearing, the specifics in the possession of child pornography case against Josh Duggar were laid out and the information is truly horrifying. The 33-year-old former 19 Kids and Counting star appeared via a zoom call from Washington County Jail in Arkansas, where he’s been held without bail since his Apr. 29 arrest. Special Agent Gerald Faulkner from Homeland Security testified that Josh allegedly had a computer containing images in one file that depicted child sex abuse involving kids ranging from 18 months to 12 years of age, according to PEOPLE.

Faulkner called the images “in the top five of the worst of the worst that I’ve ever had to examine.” He testified that Homeland Security in May 2019 confiscated a computer from the car lot where Josh worked after a Little Rock, AR police detective had traced the flagged files to Duggar’s IP address on a computer at his workplace, Wholesale Motorcars dealership.

The agent revealed that during that raid on the car dealership, Josh was not told it was in connection with child porn, but that he “spontaneously” responded, “What is this about? Has someone been downloading child pornography?” The publication reports that Duggar was “asked point blank about seeing or having child sex abuse material in his possession,” and he said, “I’d rather not answer that question.”

Josh was arrested on Apr. 29 by federal agents and charged the following day with receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material, according to the United States Attorney’s Office Western District of Arkansas. Josh was also accused of allegedly downloading child pornography that depicts the sexual abuse of children under the ages of 12, in May of 2019.

The former 19 Kids and Counting star is the father of six children with wife Anna Duggar, 32. She’s currently pregnant with the couple’s seventh child — a daughter — due in the fall of 2021. His kids range in age from 11-year-old eldest daughter Mackynzie to one-year-old daughter Maryella. Josh has asked to be released on bail so that he can go home to be with his pregnant wife and children, claiming that he’s not a flight risk because his face is so familiar from being a reality star for so many years.

Josh became embroiled in scandal in 2015, when it was revealed that years earlier as a teen he had confessed to his father Jim-Bob Duggar to molesting four of his younger sisters. While Jim-Bob later told a state trooper friend about it, Josh was never formally charged in the case and eventually the statute of limitations ran out. But it was enough for TLC to cancel 19 Kids in July 2015 when the molestation story became public.

Things got even worse for devout Christian Josh when it was revealed he had several accounts on the married adults seeking affairs website Ashley Madison. Josh then admitted to having a serious porn addiction, as well as being unfaithful to Anna. In an Aug. 20, 2015 statement, Josh admitted, “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.”

He then referenced the molestation of his sisters, saying, “I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.” Josh checked in to a faith-based in-patient rehab center in Illinois for a six month stay. Anna stood by his side and forgave him, and the couple went on to have two more children following his return to Arkansas, and now have another baby on the way.

Josh Hawley’s ‘Big Tech’ Book Overthrows the Tyranny of Reality

When Josh Hawley was last in the headlines, it was for spearheading the effort to challenge the Electoral College certification of Joe Biden’s victory on January 6. The main legal theories behind the objections were specious and contradictory; it was a deeply cynical effort. And in The Tyranny of Big Tech, Hawley has produced a deeply cynical book. The Missouri senator raises valid concerns about the technology industry, and he proposes solutions worth taking seriously. But he embeds these ideas in a broader argument that is so wildly misleading as to call the entire project into question.

Hawley’s substantive critiques of Silicon Valley will be familiar to anyone who has watched The Social Dilemma on Netflix: Smartphones are addictive. Behavioral advertising is manipulative. Social media is bad for children’s mental health. The biggest tech companies together spend tens of millions of dollars each year to buy influence in Washington. Facebook, Google, and Twitter wield too much power over communication. And they use it, Hawley says, to discriminate against conservatives. (Likewise Simon & Schuster, the book’s original publisher, which dropped Hawley after the Capitol riot—evidence, Hawley writes, of corporate America trying to silence him. The book eventually found a home with Regnery Publishing, a conservative imprint.)

Where Hawley’s book departs from the standard anti-tech treatise is in his attempt to tie the current moment into a grand theory of American political history. In Hawley’s telling, people like Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos are the direct ideological descendants of the original Gilded Age robber barons. Their dominance is the culmination of what he calls “corporate liberalism,” a philosophy in which, he writes, the state and big business conspire to deny the common man his independence and self-government. According to Hawley, corporate liberalism became entrenched a century ago in both major political parties, and today, “Big Tech and Big Government seek to extend their influence over every area of American life.”

And so Hawley spends a large portion of the book recounting these historical roots. The hero of his narrative is Theodore Roosevelt, whom Hawley views as the champion of a small-r republican tradition dating back to the nation’s founding. “He believed that liberty depended on the independence of the common man and on his capacity to share in self-government,” Hawley writes. “He believed concentrations of wealth and power threatened the people’s control and thus their freedom.” Roosevelt established those bona fides by bringing a successful antitrust case against financier J. P. Morgan in 1904. But his republican vision met its tragic demise in the election of 1912, when Roosevelt lost to Democrat Woodrow Wilson, whom Hawley calls “the nation’s first prominent corporate liberal.” Where Roosevelt championed the common man, Wilson favored government by corporate aristocratic elites. Once in office, he put an end to the anti-monopoly movement, settling instead for friendly cooperation with big business. “This was the Wilsonian settlement, the triumph of corporate liberalism that would dominate America’s politics and political economy for a century and reach its apotheosis with Big Tech,” Hawley writes.

It’s an interesting story, and Hawley tells it well. The trouble is that it gets almost every important thing wrong. In the 1912 election, it was Roosevelt, not Wilson, who favored cooperation between government and business elites. After the 1904 showdown with Morgan, Roosevelt had decided that “good” trusts were fine, as long as he got to regulate them. This arrangement was much more palatable to the tycoons. George Perkins, a partner of Morgan’s at US Steel, was a leader and major funder of Roosevelt’s Progressive Party during the 1912 campaign. Morgan himself donated more than $ 4 million in today’s dollars to Roosevelt’s 1904 reelection bid. Hawley does not mention these cozy relationships.

Wilson, on the other hand, was the real anti-monopoly candidate of 1912. His “New Freedom” platform was heavily influenced by Louis Brandeis, generally considered the godfather of anti-monopolism; as president, Wilson would elevate Brandeis to the Supreme Court (a connection Hawley only briefly acknowledges). To portray Wilson as the pro-corporate candidate, Hawley pulls his words so far out of context that they take on the inverse of their actual meaning. He cites a speech, for example, in which Wilson said, “Big business is no doubt to a large extent necessary and natural.” But if you follow the footnote, you will find that this is part of an argument against monopolies. “What most of us are fighting for is to break up this very partnership between big business and the government,” Wilson declared. “I take my stand absolutely, where every progressive ought to take his stand, on the proposition that private monopoly is indefensible and intolerable.”

Josh Duggar Facing 20 Years In Prison After Child Porn Arrest, Says Arkansas Criminal Attorney

Author: Allison Swan
This post originally appeared on Hollywood Life

Josh Duggar was arrested on April 29 and charged with possession of child pornography. Here’s what will happen if the ’19 Kids and Counting’ star is convicted.

Josh Duggar, 33, could spend up to 20 years in prison and be fined as much as a half-a-million dollars, if he’s found guilty of receiving and possessing child porn, attorney Bobby Digby told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY.

The 19 Kids and Counting star, who was arrested on April 29, for allegedly downloading child pornography that depicts the sexual abuse of children under the ages of 12, pleaded not guilty to the charges. But, he remains behind bars and will next face a detention hearing on May 5 to determine whether he can be granted supervised release while he stands trial.

“He’s facing up to 40 years in a federal prison, 20 years on each count, and up to $ 250,000 in fines on each count,” Arkansas defense attorney Digby explained. “Anything is possible, but typically they’d be concurrent sentences, which would mean he’s looking at up to 20 years.”

“In the federal system, if he is convicted and sentenced to the Bureau of Prisons, or BOP, he would serve about 86% of any sentence he would receive, before he was eligible for release,” the lawyer continued. “In the federal system they don’t call it parole, they call it supervised release, but it’s essentially parole.  So there’d be sex offender registration, all kinds of stuff like that.”

As fans of 19 Kids and Counting know, Josh is the father of six minor children with wife Anna Duggar, who announced just days before his arrest that she’s pregnant with their seventh child. And, according to Digby, these charges could mean he’s only allowed to see them with supervision, or possibly not at all.

“It’s determined in part by the judge and in part by the Sex Offender Registration Board, but there can be no contact orders. That’s discretionary with the judge. But, even if he gets out on pre-trial release, which is what we call bond in the federal system, he may not be able to have contact with them, or only have supervised contact.”

Sadly, this is not the first time Josh’s name has been in the news for sex crimes. In 2015 he admitted to molesting four of his sisters when he was a teenager. He had confessed his actions to his dad Jim Bob Duggar in 2003, who sent him away to a prayer camp. In Aug. 2015, he entered rehab for a six month in-patient stay after confessing to a serious pornography addiction.

Although no charges were ever filed against Josh for molesting his sisters, his previous actions could still be a factor, said Digby. “In the federal system, if he is convicted either by plea agreement or by trial, the judge sets the punishment. You have a separate sentencing hearing after any plea or trial. So at the sentencing hearing either side can bring forth evidence relevant to the sentencing.  Uncharged allegations can be brought forth to show that look, his criminal history may not be high, but he’s a bad guy.”

“It will be brought up potentially in the trial, it just depends on what the court would rule if it got that far,” he continued. “I mean, a lot of these do not go to trial, simply because there’s arguments that defense attorneys make, and I represent a lot of people on child pornography charges, but, you know, you boil it down it’s either: ‘I didn’t possess it’ or, ‘it wasn’t child pornography’, which are both tough sales to make.”

Duggar’s lawyers said in a statement to HollywoodLife: “Josh Duggar has been charged in a two-count indictment. He has pled not guilty to both charges and we intend to defend this case aggressively and thoroughly. In this country, no one can stop prosecutors from charging a crime. But when you’re accused, you can fight back in the courtroom — and that is exactly what Josh intends to do.”

FAMILY FOCUSED

As Josh Duggar is indicted on child pornography charges, the rest of his kin have been reacting differently – with many focused on other members of the family.

On Thursday evening – just after news of his brother’s arrest broke – Joseph Duggar, 26, posted a professional portrait with his wife, Kendra, and their three kids.

The family wore neutral colors – beige, white and grey – for the smiling picture where the matriarch proudly held her newborn daughter, Brooklyn.

Their son, Garrett, and daughter, Addison, also posed for the picture.

“We have been enjoying getting adjusted to a family of 5 so I haven’t posted in a while!

“But here are some of our favorite pics from our newborn photos,” they captioned the photos on their joint family page.

Jill commented, adding that the message and pictures were “so sweet.”

While brother John and his wife, Abbie, wrote that the pictures were “priceless.”

After not posting to their Instagram page since the very beginning of the month, the couple posted on the day of Josh’s arrest.

Josh Duggar Charged With Possession Of Child Pornography After Arrest In Arkansas

Author: Samantha Wilson
This post originally appeared on Hollywood Life

Josh Duggar has been charged with possession of child pornography after his April 29 arrest. He now faces up to 20 years for each count if convicted.

19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar, 33, has been charged with receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material after his April 29 arrest, according to the United States Attorney’s Office Western District of Arkansas. Duggar is accused of allegedly downloading child pornography that depicts the sexual abuse of children under the ages of 12, in May of 2019, the indictment, obtained by HollywoodLife, states.

Duggar faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and fines up to $ 250,000 on each count, according to a press release from the Department of Justice. Duggar pled not guilty in court via Zoom on April 30. His attorneys asked the judge that his charges not be read out to the court. Duggar remains at an Arkansas detention center as he awaits a bond hearing.

If awarded bail, Judge Erin L. Wiedemann said Duggar will have to stay “in a residence where there’s no minor in the home.” Duggar is the father of six minor children with wife Anna Duggar. Anna, 32, announced just days before the arrest that she’s pregnant with their seventh child. Duggar is scheduled for a detention hearing on May 5.

In 2015, Josh confessed to molesting four of his younger sisters and a babysitter when he was a teenager. By that time, the statute of limitations for prosecution had run out. He said in a statement that year, “Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation.

“We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling,” he continued. “I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.” The family’s reality show, 19 Kids and Counting, was canceled by TLC in July 2015 after 10 seasons.

One month later, Josh revealed that he had a porn addiction, which had caused him to be “unfaithful” to wife Anna. “I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living,” he said in a statement, apologizing for the “pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family.” He entered a faith-based rehab center in Illinois and completed treatment in March 2016.

Former reality television star Josh Duggar was arrested by federal agents on April 29, 2021, according to jail records and news reports.

Duggar was booked at 1:14 p.m. local time in Washington County, in northwest Arkansas, according to online jail records. He was arrested by U.S. Marshals and is being held for a different federal agency, although the booking record doesn’t state which one.

We left a message with the U.S. Department of Justice seeking further information and will update this story when and if we hear back.

Per The Associated Press, “Duggar, 33, starred on TLC’s ’19 Kids and Counting’ until it was pulled from the network in 2015 over revelations Duggar had molested four of his sisters and a babysitter. Duggar’s parents said he had confessed to the fondling and apologized.”

TMZ reported that U.S. Department of Homeland Security agents were seen in November 2019 at a car dealership where Duggar worked. Federal agents raided his office at that time as well.

The Duggars rose to prominence as culture warriors when matriarch Michelle Duggar recorded a robocall in 2014 opposing an anti-discrimination bill being considered by the city of Fayetteville, Arkansas, which would have provided protections for members of the LGBTQ community.

The Sun can exclusively report that Josh, 33, has been arrested and jailed in Arkansas on April 29.

The bombshell bust comes just six years after claims he molested five girls as a teen.

The Sun exclusively learned that fired reality star Josh was taken into custody on April 29 in Arkansas.

The incident is related to the 2019 Homeland Security raid on his now-shuttered used car dealership in Springdale, Arkansas, a source claimed.

In November 2019, Homeland Security Investigations conducted an “ongoing federal investigation” at the lot, but no charges were filed against Duggar until now.

A source exclusively told The Sun “the family has known that this has been coming for weeks, and Josh has been preparing himself.

“They are praying together for Josh and Anna, who is standing by her husband as she always has. Family members are extremely concerned by what is happening and they just want to find out the truth.

“They know that this will put them in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, and are stunned they are having to go through this again.

“The family will be speaking out shortly and hope this in many ways will bring them closer together and even closer to God.”

The arrest comes shortly after Josh’s wife Anna confirmed she is pregnant with the couple’s seventh child.

On April 23, Anna, 32, shared the news in a new Instagram post, which included a video of her and Josh opening an umbrella as pink confetti flew out as part of the gender reveal.

Anna and the Duggar family previously stood by Josh through his disturbing sex abuse scandal in 2015

The show was TLC’s most popular, averaging 2.3 million viewers per new episode in Season 10.

Anna and Josh have six children together, three daughters and three sons, and she recently confirmed she is pregnant with their seventh child.

  • WHY HAS DUGGAR BEEN ARRESTED?

The charges are related to the 2019 Homeland Security raid on his now-shuttered used car dealership in Springdale, Arkansas, a source told The Sun.

In November 2019, Homeland Security Investigations conducted an “ongoing federal investigation” at the lot, but no charges were filed against Josh- until now.

A source exclusively told The Sun of patriarch Jim Bob, his wife Michelle, and their 19 children: “The family has known that this has been coming for weeks, and Josh has been preparing himself.

  • DR PHIL PREDICTED THERE WAS MORE TO 2015 SCANDAL

Talk show host Dr Phil predicted there was more to the story of Josh Duggar’s 2015 molestation scandal during an appearance on The View six years ago

“What I’m really concerned about with regard to that,” he began. “We have not seen the bottom of that yet. My dad used to say that for every rat you see, there’s 50 you don’t.

“To assume that everything you see is everything there is, would really be naive. I just don’t believe that the whole truth has come out yet.”

  • FBI NOT INVOLVED IN JOSH DUGGAR’S CASE

As people speculate the conditions surrounding Josh Duggar’s arrest and detention by federal law enforcement officials on Thursday, some agencies are denying their involvement.

A spokesperson for the FBI told Buzzfeed the agency is not involved with Duggar’s case.

Duggar’s arrest does have something to do in connection with a 2019 Department of Homeland Security raid on his used car dealership in Arkansas.

No charges have been filed against Duggar. He is being held without bail.

  • JIM BOB AND MICHELLE WAIT TO TELL POLICE OF JOSH’S ALLEGED MOLESTATIONS

After Josh confessed to his father Jim Bob on three separate instances regarding his alleged molestations, Jim Bob and his wife Michelle sought help not from authorities but from church officials.

In 2002, then 14-year-old Josh is alleged to have molested five girls, four of whom were later identified as his sisters.

Church officials told the Duggars to send Josh to a Christian program in Little Rock that instilled hard labor with counseling.

Following the three-month program, the Duggars and Josh reported the confessed attacks to police.

Authorities then re-examined the case in 2006 following an anonymous tip they received on Arkansas’ child abuse hotline, but the statute of limitations had expired.

  • JOSH TOLD HIS DAD JIM BOB THREE TIMES ABOUT HIS ALLEGED MOLESTATIONS

Josh Duggar apparently told his father, Duggar patriarch Jim Bob, about his supposed molestations on three separate instances when the teen is alleged to have committed them.

Then 14-year-old Josh is alleged to have molested five girls, four of whom his sisters, in 2002 and 2003.

Jim Bob and his wife Michelle came clean about Josh’s allegations in 2015, saying they punished him after he confessed, but said his actions continued.

In March 2013, months after Josh confessed to allegedly molesting a family friend sleeping on the family’s couch, he allegedly molested his 5-year-old sister.

After reportedly fondling her breasts and genitals, he ran out of the room and confessed to his father, Jim Bob told police.

Josh reportedly told his father on three separate dates of his alleged molestations before any action was taken by his parents.

  • JOSH “CRIED” TO HIS FATHER ABOUT THE MOLESTATION ALLEGATIONS

Josh Duggar, who is alleged to have molested five girls when he was 14 years old, apparently went “crying” to his father after the supposed acts.

In 2002, teen Josh allegedly told his he had snuck into his sisters’ room at least four or five times a night to touch them “on the breasts and vaginal areas” as they lay sleeping.

When the InTouch report came out in June 2015, the family acknowledged that four of the victims were Josh’s younger sisters.

Josh apparently had told his father he also fondled one of his sisters she slept on the couch.

He also confessed to touching a family friend who was equally sleeping on the couch.

  • JOSH ATTENDED A CHRISTIAN PROGRAM FOLLOWING THE MOLESTATION ALLEGATIONS

After it was surfaced in his family in mid-2002 and then by March 2003 that Josh had allegedly molested girls while he was a 14-year-old, his parents Jim Bob and Michelle had sent Josh to a Christian program to reflect on his actions.

He attended the program from March 17, 2003 to July 17, 2003, where he was required to do physical work and received counseling.

However, when interviewed 12 years after the incident when an Intouch report broke the story, Josh’s mom Michelle said she did not consider the program to be a legitimate training center.

When Josh returned home, he “apologized” to the girls. heis alleged of molesting, and said they had “forgiven him.”

  • WHO ARE THE FOUR SISTERS JOSH IS ALLEGED TO HAVE MOLESTED?

Josh Duggar confessed to molesting a number of girls when he was 14 years old, but police never pressed charges as reports of the allegations had come out over a decade since it happened, exceeding the statute of limitations.

However, police documents from the 2002 police filing indicated Josh is alleged to have molested four of his sisters.

They were identified as Jessa Duggar, Jill Duggar, Joy-Anna Duggar and Jinger Duggar.

Their father Jim Bob apparently took action into his own hands, when in March 2003 he “met with the elders of his church and told them what was going on” but stopped short of alerting the police.

  • JOSH DUGGAR SMIRKS IN MUGSHOT PHOTO

Josh Duggar, who a source exclusively told The Sun he voluntarily turned himself into federal authorities on Thursday, gave a smirk in his mugshot photo.

He is being held at the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville in Arkansas.

No charges have been filed against Duggar, with the only words listed on his arrest page as “hold for other dept.”

  • WHY DIDN’T JOSH DUGGAR FACE CHARGES FOR HIS ALLEGED MOLESTATION?

Josh Duggar was accused of molesting five girls when he was a teen in the early 2000s.

Josh confessed to molestation in 2002 when he, as a 14-year-old, allegedly fondled the breasts and genitals of several victims while they slept in the Duggar’s home.

He also allegedly molested a girl who sat on his lap, placing his hand beneath her dress while in the family’s laundry room.

However, he was never charged with a crime for the alleged molestations, apparently because Arkansas police cited the statute of limitations for prosecuting the crimes had expired.

His dad Jim Bob told police he sent Josh to a Christian counseling program for a few months, where he “did manual labor and had counseling.”

  • JOSH TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE IN FEDERAL COURT TOMORROW

Josh Duggar, who a source exclusively told The Sun was arrested by federal authorities today, is expected to make an appearance in federal court tomorrow.

The shamed reality star voluntarily turned himself into federal authorities after the family had known for weeks of his impending arrest.

Charges against Duggar have yet to be revealed.

His arrest was in connection to a used car dealership he owned in Arkansas, which closely followed a raid conducted by the Department of Homeland Security in 2019.

Last year, Duggar was forced to pay $ 5,000 in attorney’s fees and costs to Carl Echols, a man Duggar illegally a five-acre property from.

  • ANNA CALLS HER HUSBAND JOSH A “DILIGENT WORKER” BEFORE HIS ARREST

Anna defended her husband almost a week before his arrest earlier today, saying he was a “diligent worker” who “provides” for her family.

Federal authorities arrested and jailed Josh on Thursday in connection to a raid conducted by the Department of Homeland Security on his used car dealership in 2019.

A source exclusively told The Sun the family has known about the arrest for weeks.

Just six days ago, Anna defended her husband as she has through the years despite his alleged infidelity and even allegations of molestation of girls almost two decades earlier.

“Yes, my husband is a diligent worker and provides well for our family,” Anna, 32, replied, according to People.

Anna has not yet commented on her husband’s arrest.

Her last Instagram post was shared five days ago when she announced the couple expecting a baby girl.

The baby will be their seventh child.

  • WHO IS JILL DUGGAR AND HOW IS SHE DISTANCING HERSELF FROM HER FAMILY?

Jill the fourth child and the second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, has been known to defy her parents’ strict religious beliefs and has been increasingly distancing herself from her family and her 18 other siblings.

She has become estranged from her family recently after she and her husband Derick stepped away from their strict conservative values.

Jill, 29, shared a sweet 15-minute video of Israel’s first day of kindergarten where she and husband Derick Dillard took him to school and then went back to pick him up.

The 5-year-old seemed very excited to be starting school and even waved his mom off as she delivered him to his teacher.

Following his first day at school, fans praised the mom for signing up her son for school.

One fan wrote: “I hope Israel loves going to school.”

And a third said: “I think it’s awesome you are sending him to school and going against the grain of you family values! You do you, you’re doing great and following your gut.”

This isn’t the first time that Jill has gone her own route as she recently promoted her rebel cousin Amy’s risqué clothing line by wearing a leopard, tie-die and floral loungewear short sets while also showing off a maxi dress.

Jill has butted heads with her parents Jim Bob, 55, and Michelle, 53, as Derick claimed they are also banned from the family compound when Jill’s father isn’t there.

Derick exclusively told The Sun: “I think he’s mainly worried about the influence we might have on his children.”

He also claimed that Jim Bob had tried to force him to sign an NDA in 2019 but that “the truth” was more important, and that the show had “begged” Jill and Derick to return but they refused.

He recalled: “We were humiliated and threatened when we first tried to not film.

  • JILL DUGGAR DEFIES STRICT DAD JIM BOB AND WEARS SHORT SHORTS AFTER JOSH IS ARRESTED

Hours after her brother Josh was arrested, Jill Duggar posted an Instagram story of her wearing short shorts – in complete defiance of her strict Christian father Jim Bob.

The former Counting On star has rebelled against her family’s austere rules in recent years, which has led to an ongoing feud with her parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

“These shorts are supers fun and nice and springy so check them out!” Jill wrote on Instagram with shorts that were just slightly above the knee.

Jill, 29, was modeling a clothes haul as part of a sponsored post and showed off various outfits including a pair of short shorts, and several dresses that finished above the knee.

The mom-of-two and her husband, Derick Dillard, have become increasingly estranged from the rest of the Duggar family over the years as they continue to revolt against the strict rules of the family’s church.

Jill and her husband Derick have engaged in behaviors such as drinking and sending their children to public school.

And the couple has even spoken publicly about their sex life, emphasizing the divide between Jill and the rest of her family.

  • WHY DID FEDERAL AUTHORITIES RAID JOSH’S USED CAR DEALERSHIP?

Josh Duggar’s arrest by federal authorities today is linked to a 2019 raid on his used car dealership in Springdale, Arkansas.

In November 2019, Homeland Security Investigations conducted an “ongoing federal investigation” at the lot, but no charges were filed against Josh- until now.

Josh’s car business, Wholesale Motorcars, in Springdale, Arkansas is listed on Google as “permanently closed.”

No charges against Josh or the business were ever filed.

In 2018, RadarOnline.com reported Josh was found in violation of an ordinance requiring his car business to have a permit.

Josh was allegedly notified of the issue three times before he resolved the problem.

  • JOSH DUGGAR DENIES AN ALLEGED ASSAULT WITH PORN STAR

In November 2015, porn star, Ashley Johnston, also known by her stage name Danica Dillon, accused Josh Duggar of sexually assaulting her.

Johnston accused him in a lawsuit and interviews of choking, spitting and calling her “worthless” during rough intercourse. She eventually dropped the lawsuit, with Duggar always denying the allegations.

She alleged that they met in March 2015, at a Philadelphia strip club, where she was then working and that Josh paid her $ 600 for lap dances before inviting her to his room.

In a exclusive interview with The Sun, Johnston, 33, said she has always told the truth about the alleged assault, which she described as being so intense it felt “like this guy tried to kill me,” according to the lawsuit.

Months before Johnston accused Duggar for sexually assaulting her, news broke that the Duggar had paid a Ashley Madison Account.

The then 27-year-old paid an account on service that assists married people in having affairs.

He admitted to cheating on his wife and to being addicted to porn.

  • JOSH REPORTEDLY STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE

Josh has found it hard to keep a stable job, and currently lives with Anna and his six kids in a warehouse on Jim Bob and Michelle’s Arkansas property, The Sun exclusively reported.

A source said: “There’s no sign of him working and he only leaves when he drives the family out in a blue minivan.

“He pulled the short straw with his living arrangements, too. His brother Joseph and his wife Kendra’s log cabin is picturesque and impressive while Josh’s warehouse doesn’t look like the most welcoming of places.”

  • JOSH MOVES ON POST SCANDAL

After 19 Kids and Counting was cancelled and Josh Duggar was fired from his position at Christian lobbying group the Family Research Council, the shamed reality star continued to attract negative headlines.

Just three months after the 2015 report surfaced of his alleged molestation of five girls, it surfaced that Josh was using adultery dating service Ashley Madison.

Josh said in a statement: “I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the Internet and this has become a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.”

Soon after, porn star Danica Dillon, whose real name is Ashley Johnston, claimed he assaulted her during a sexual encounter.

In a 2020 interview with The Sun, Ashley, 33, described the alleged incident as being so intense “it felt like this guy tried to kill me.”

Ashley, now a married mom of four, said Josh “knows what he’s done and has to live with his demons.”

Josh has always denied the alleged assault.

  • JIM BOB AND MICHELLE DUGGAR COME CLEAN ABOUT JOSH’S ACTIONS

Patriarch and Matriarch of the 19 Duggar kids, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, came clean in 2015 when the scandal first broke of their eldest son Josh allegedly molesting several girls as a teen.

When an InTouch report broke the scandal, the two parents went to hte police to discuss their son’s actions.

“Back 12 years ago our family went through one of the most difficult times of our lives,” they said in 2015.

“When Josh was a young teenager, he made some very bad mistakes and we were shocked. We had tried to teach him right from wrong.

“That dark and difficult time caused us to seek God like never before. Even though we would never choose to go through something so terrible, each one of our family members drew closer to God.”

Outside of the show getting canceled, Josh was fired from his position at Christian lobbying group the Family Research Council.

  • JOSH DUGGAR’S WIFE ANNA PREGNANT WITH SEVENTH CHILD AS JOSH IS ARRESTED

While the whole Duggar family is praying for Josh’s speedy release from bars, the arrest could not have come at a worse time for his wife Anna, who is pregnant with the couple’s seventh child.

Anna, 32, and the Duggar family previously stood by Josh through his disturbing sex abuse scandal in 2015.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, Josh’s parents, apparently came clean to the police in 2015 and said their eldest son fondled the breasts and genitals of young girls while they were asleep in the Duggar family home back in 2002.

Their show, 19 Kids & Counting, was canceled after the scandal broke.

“They know that this will put them in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, and are stunned they are having to go through this again.

“The family will be speaking out shortly and hope this in many ways will bring them closer together and even closer to God.”

Josh Duggar is behind bars and being held without bail following his arrest by federal agents in Arkansas on Apr. 29.

Former 19 Kids and Counting star Josh Duggar is in big trouble with the law. Federal agents arrested the 33-year-old in Washington County, AR on Thurs. Apr. 29, TMZ reports. In his mugshot, he’s seen with an odd smirk on his face. HollywoodLife.com has reached out to Josh’s rep for comment on his arrest, as well as a Duggar family spokesperson. We’ve also contacted the Department of Homeland Security, the Arkansas Justice Department  and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. It’s unclear what the father of six is being charged with, but he’s being held without bail.

In Nov. 2019, Homeland Security agents raided the car dealership where he worked in Springdale, AR, as part of a larger probe. At the time, a Duggar family spokesperson said, that it wasn’t true that “any member of our family is the target of any investigation of any kind.” The rep added, “Living a life in the public’s eye has taught us that it is best not to reply to every rumor and piece of ‘fake news’ that is circulated online. It would be a full-time job if we attempted to do so.”

In 2015, Josh admitted to molesting four of his younger sisters, as well as a babysitter, when he was a teenager. But by then the statue of limitations had run out for him to be prosecuted. In a statement in May of that year he said, ““Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation. We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life.”

As a result of the scandal, TLC cancelled 19 Kids and Counting in July 2015. In Aug. 2015, came the bombshell news that Josh had been allegedly seeking one night stands with two different profiles on the website Ashley Madison, which was specifically designed for cheating spouses. He later admitted to having a serious porn addiction.

Josh put out a statement in Aug. 2015, where he wrote the that he had been “the biggest hypocrite ever.” Josh said he had been “viewing pornography on the internet” for the last “several years,” and his secret addiction led him to be “unfaithful to [his] wife.” Josh said he was “so ashamed of the double life that I have been living,” before apologizing for the “pain and disgrace [his] sin has caused [his] wife and family.” He then entered a faith-based rehab for porn addiction.

Josh completed a six month stay in a residential treatment facility in Illinois, and left the center in Mar. 2016 to return home to try to rebuild his family and his relationship with wife Anna Duggar. While things were frosty at first, they have continued to add to their brood. At the time of Josh seeking treatment, they had four children. The couple has since added two more kids to their family with the birth of son Mason and 2019 birth of daughter Maryella

Joshes Battle For Josh Supremacy in Nebraska

Josh Swain of Arizona was, of course, joshing. He never really intended to fight anyone who shared his name, but what was he supposed to do? Every time Mr. Swain went to register for a social media account under his name, he was foiled. “It’s always been taken,” Mr. Swain said. What’s even more bizarre: “I have never met a Josh Swain.”

That left Mr. Swain, a 22-year-old civil engineering student at the University of Arizona, with a deep sense of curiosity that naturally turned into a bit of mischief amid a severe case of self-diagnosed “pandemic boredom.” So, last year, he found nine other Josh Swains and invited them to a group chat to settle the matter.

“You’re probably wondering why I’ve gathered you all here today,” he wrote one morning to a group of strangers. “Precisely, 4/24/2021, 12:00 PM, meet at these coordinates” he instructed. “[W]e fight, whoever wins gets to keep the name, everyone else has to change their name, you have a year to prepare, good luck.”

Another Josh Swain replied, “Because we all share the same names….?”

Mr. Swain, the real one, took a screen shot of the message and posted it on Twitter on April 24, 2020 (reluctantly using his full name and the suffix AZ). With it, he wrote, simply, “there can be only one.”

The message was liked and shared more than 85,000 times. Then, something curious happened. The internet loved it. It became a genuine source of humor amid a very grim year of pandemic losses.

Since posting the tweet, Mr. Swain’s friends would occasionally send him messages saying they saw people talking about his challenge as if it were a real upcoming event. And why not? People were getting vaccinated. Pandemic restrictions were lifting. Even harsh winter gave way to a brisk spring.

Someone even set up a website counting down to the fight.

At one point, he decided to turn the attention the event was gaining to good use. He created a fund-raising page titled, “Support Legal Fees to Help Josh Swains Change Their Names*”

The *, he wrote, included a promise that donated money would not go to any Josh Swain, but rather, to the Children’s Hospital & Medical Center Foundation, which operates facilities near the designated battle ground in Lincoln, Neb. After one too many questions about what the heck this page was for, he wrote a less funny, more straightforward pitch for donations to the hospital. Money began to pour in.

Mr. Swain was becoming convinced that somebody else named Josh Swain might actually show up. And he didn’t want to be the kind of Josh Swain who invited people to a fight and didn’t show up himself. So, he bought an airplane ticket about a month ago and flew on Friday to Lincoln, Neb. On Saturday, he went to the designated location: Air Park Green Area. He arrived at the park around 11 a.m. to scope out the location. By noon, the others had arrived.

By Mr. Swain’s estimation, about 1,000 people turned out, all prepared for a good-humored romp. About 950 were spectators, and 50 people had the first name Josh. But only one of those Joshes was a Josh Swain — the name doppelgänger whom Mr. Swain had initially set out to meet.

So, on Saturday, there was not one Josh Fight, but two.

The Josh Swain battled The Other Josh Swain in rock, paper, scissors. The Josh Swain wore a gray T-shirt and dark jeans. The Other Josh Swain wore a black jacket with no sleeves and metal studs. It was a one-game, winner-take-all fight. They tied the first round. And the second round. And the third. In the fourth round, The Josh Swain threw a rock, The Other Josh Swain threw scissors. Winner: The Josh Swain!

“Everybody erupted,” The Josh Swain recalled. Graciously, he spared his rival the harshest of all punishments. “As my first decree as the official Josh Swain, I think he shouldn’t have to change his name.”

But The Josh Swain was not prepared for what came next. The other Joshes had their own battle, complete with pool noodles, those long, colorful foam tubes that are nearly impossible to cause injury. The play fighting was intense.

The Josh Swain said he saw people collapsing (humorously) amid the mayhem. Many, he said, were cut down by a 4-year-old named “Little” Josh Vinson Jr., whom The Josh Swain declared the winner of the Josh Fight. Little Josh’s father, Josh Sr. (no, seriously), told The Lincoln Journal Star that his son had suffered a series of seizures when he was around 2, and was treated at the children’s hospital the event was raising money for.

The Josh Swain said on Twitter the story “is making me sob.” By Sunday evening, more than 230 people donated a little more than $ 11,000 to the foundation. Attendees also brought more than 100 pounds of food, which was donated to the Food Bank of Lincoln, he said.

After all the Joshes had fought, the hundreds of other spectators got in on the action, joyously bashing each other with colorful foam noodles.

Despite the hourslong battle (and bruised egos), Mr. Swain never imagined this would really settle once and for all Josh supremacy. After all, neither his nor Little Josh’s victories were formally recognized by other notable Joshes. Messages sent to publicists for Josh Brolin, the actor who played Thanos, the universe-ending villain in the Marvel movies, and Josh Gad, the actor who starred in the “The Book of Mormon” on Broadway and both “Frozen” and “Frozen II,” were not returned Sunday night.

Still, The Josh Swain said he thinks of his name differently now.

“I’m a Josh,” he used to think to himself. “After this, no no no. I am a Josh. I’m not just Josh. We’re all proud to be this moniker. And proud to represent it. Now it means something.”
