Google Pixel smartwatch design leaks …and looks set to borrow from both Samsung and Apple

Rumours of a Google-designed smartwatch are nothing new. Ever since Samsung and Apple launched smartwatches to accompany their best-selling smartphone ranges, people have wondered whether Google will follow the same playbook. And thanks to Jon Prosser, who created the popular YouTube show FrontPageTech and has been a reliable source of leaks about Google’s forthcoming products, we have now had a good look at the long-rumoured Pixel Watch.
Sources within Google have revealed some new details about the so-called Pixel Watch to Prosser, who has commissioned some high-resolution renders based on the information. These new images depict a smartwatch with a circular display, a flexible rubber strap, and a physical crown to interact with elements on-screen.

Google is tipped to have created an almost bezel-less display – to minimise the total size of the device on your wrist. Google already has a fitness-tracking app, Google Fit, so we can be pretty confident that Pixel Watch will include some level of step, calorie, or heart-rate tracking.

Interestingly, the Pixel Watch seems to borrow from both market-leading smartwatches – the Samsung Galaxy Watch series and Apple Watch. While it was Apple that pioneered the crown – a staple of analogue watches – as a way to interact with a smartwatch. This solves the issue of smearing the touchscreen with fingerprints (making it difficult to see the time) and endless swipes on the small display. However, it is Samsung that has rigidly stuck with a round design – like a traditional timepiece.

While a number of rivals have flocked to copy the rounded square shape of the best-selling Apple Watch (Fitbit, for example), Samsung has stuck firm with its circular design. And now, Google looks set to join its ranks too. According to Prosser, Google is eyeing up an October release date for its Pixel Watch. That would make sense. After all, Google regularly unveils the latest entry in its flagship Pixel smartphone series in October, alongside Chromebook and new Google Nest gadgets.

PS Plus April 2021 free PS4, PS5 games reveal date, time, leaks, predictions and DEALS

Sony is gearing up to unveil the full list of PS Plus free games for April 2021.

Because of the longer month and way the dates fall, the next batch of PlayStation Plus games will be revealed at 4.30pm BST on March 31.

The free PlayStation 4 and PS5 games (and perhaps PSVR) will be available less than a week later on April 6.

This gives existing PlayStation Plus subscribers the chance to download the current batch of free games, including Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Remnant From the Ashes, Maquette, Destruction All-Stars and Farpoint.

The pick of the bunch is undoubtedly Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which launched around about a year ago on PS4.

While there’s a chance the next batch of PlayStation Plus free games will leak ahead of time, the only game that has so far been confirmed is Oddworld: Soulstorm on PS5.

“Oddworld: Soulstorm continues Abe’s evolutionary story,” reads the official description.

“You will learn that revolutions start small, but real and lasting change requires the power of many and the power of hope. And that opposing forces will use every means at their well-funded disposal, from propaganda to brute force, to beat back even the smallest uprising.”

According to the development team, the upcoming game will take full advantage of the PS5’s innovative DualSense controller.

“The DualSense Controller allows you to experience the palpitations of Abe’s heart as he tries to save his followers in the face of overwhelming forces armed with superior fire power.

“As Abe struggles, the ingenious adaptive triggers offer resistance, making the struggle feel more real.”

One potential leak suggests that Civilization 6 will join the line-up in April 2021.

According to recent reports, the excellent PlayStation 4 strategy game has been advertised as a PlayStation Plus game over in Japan.

However, with the game currently on sale until the end of April, it seems unlikely that it will join PS Plus next month, but keep checking back for updates.

In terms of predictions, more PlayStation exclusives are tipped to feature on PS Plus in April 2021.

This includes heavyweight blockbusters such as Uncharted: Lost Legacy, Gran Turismo Sport and Gravity Rush.

PS4 horror shooter The Order 1886 gets its customary mention, while Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding is also predicted.

With Kojima’s studio gearing up to announce a brand new game, giving Death Stranding away for free would be a good way of drumming up interest.

Marvel’s Spider-Man also gets a few mentions, especially with the sequel making waves on the PlayStation 5.

Nier Automata, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series, Surviving Mars, No Man’s Sky, Dark Souls Remastered and Firewatch are also mentioned.

A few people believe Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order could join PS Plus, or perhaps Star Wars Squadrons.

If you want to grab the March and April free PS4 and PS5 games, then it’s worth heading over to ShopTo for cheap PlayStation Plus subscriptions.

The UK retailer is currently selling 12-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions for just £39.85, compared to £49.99 on PSN.

As a digital membership, the PS Plus subscription will be delivered immediately, which means you can use it to bag the latest batch of free PlayStation Plus games.

As a reminder, a PS Plus subscription is required for paid online multiplayer games like FIFA and Call of Duty.

Subscribers also get 100GB of cloud storage for online PlayStation game saves.

FUT Birthday FIFA 21 release date, time, FUT card leaks and Ultimate Team predictions

FIFA 21 developer EA Sports is getting ready to celebrate Ultimate Team’s birthday.

The 2021 FUT Birthday has been given a March 26 release date, and a 6pm GMT start time for fans living in the UK.

Marking 12 years since the launch of the popular online mode, the upcoming FUT Birthday celebrations are a chance for fans to earn various items and upgrades.

Based on past years, EA Sports will mark the occasion with special FUT Birthday items, themed Flashbacks, Objectives, daily engagement objectives, SBCs, and lots more.

Needless to say, the main event is the announcement of the FUT Birthday team.

Players included in the Birthday team (or teams) will feature upgraded ratings and possible skill move boosts.

In the run up to the big reveal, fans have been having fun predicting some of the players that will be included. There have even been one or two dubious leaks.

One such leak/prediction features players such as Jamie Vardy, Leroy Sane, Thiago, Ferland Mendy, Inki Williams and Ivan Perisic.

It would be a surprise if the line-up didn’t include the likes of Erling Haaland and cover star Kylian Mbappé didn’t make an appearance, although it’s possible EA Sports will announce two teams instead of one.

EA Sports did something similar last year, as well as special engagement streak rewards, weekend player picks and “FUT Favourite” flashback SBCs.

The past 11 years of Ultimate Team have ushered in countless players we won’t forget any time soon,” reads a post from the FIFA 20 Birthday celebration page.

“A select group of “FUT Favourites” will be released throughout the event via SBC, with a Flashback item type.”

Engagement Streak Rewards, on the other hand, are daily objectives that appeared throughout the entirety of the event.

“Throughout the event, earn rewards for consistent daily engagement in FUT. FUT Birthday Daily Objectives will be released throughout FUT Birthday.

“Complete all daily objectives to unlock the FUT Birthday Daily Completionist group to earn additional rewards.”

Finally, Bonus Weekend League Player Picks are bonus objectives for players participating in the FUT Champions Weekend League.

“Back again for a limited time, the second weekend of FUT Birthday will feature a special bonus objective offering additional player picks for those participating in the FUT Champions Weekend League.”

Express Online will update this article with the full line-up and list of bonuses from 6pm UK time on March 26.

Fortnite Batman LEAKS: New DC skins and map locations revealed for Season 6

Fortnite fans have been given a first look at the Batman comic book crossover.

The Fortnite X Batman comic is an ongoing series in which the Caped Crusader is drawn into the world of Fortnite.

Fans of the comic can even unlock exclusive in-game items by redeeming codes available with each issue.

Needless to say, the release of a Fortnite comic featuring Batman has led to increased speculation that more DC characters and locations will come to Fortnite.

Judging by the latest images from the Batman Zero Point comic, fans may already have an idea about what to expect in Season 6.

The image at the top of the page, for example, is likely what the new Batman Armoured skin will look like when it appears in the game.

The tweet below, meanwhile, shows off Batman’s makeshift Batcave within the Fortnite universe.

It’s highly likely that the Batcave will be added to the map during the course of the seasom, so keep an eye out for it.

Based on the surrounding trees and the log cabin, there’s a good chance it will show up around Weeping Woods or south of Slurpy Swamp.

There’s also speculation that Deathstroke will appear in Fortnite, while Catwoman could get a new look.

With Season 6 starting just a few days ago, there’s plenty of time for Epic to add the rumoured DC items into the game.

Expect even more hints and clues to appear as more issues of the Fortnite X Batman comic are released.

“A crack splits the sky above Gotham City… a tear in reality itself. This rift pulls the Dark Knight into a bizarre and unfamiliar world, with no memory of who he is or where he came from…Batman has been drawn into Fortnite!” reads the official comic book description.

“As he fights to recall his past and escape an endless loop of chaos and struggle, he’ll come face-to-face with the likes of Renegade Raider, Fishstick, Bandolier, and more.

“While the world’s greatest detective strives to make sense of this strange new world, he’ll uncover the shocking truth about the Island, what lies beyond the Loop, and how everything is connected to the mysterious Zero Point.

“Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point uncovers secrets never before revealed in game or anywhere else!

“Every fan of Batman, Fortnite, stunning art and edge-of-your-seat excitement won’t want to miss the Caped Crusader facing off against Fortnite champions on the Island, in a desperate attempt to save not only himself, but other familiar faces from the DCU…and perhaps the Multiverse itself!”

Judging by the description of the comic, Batman could be involved with the end of season event later this year.

Fortnite Season 6 is pencilled in to end on June 8, although it’s likely to be extended by a few weeks closer to the time.

Genshin Impact 1.5 leaks: Mihoyo addresses early character list reveal

Genshin Impact 1.4 has only just been released but it won’t be long before new characters arrive during Genshin 1.5.

And from what has been shared so far, there will be at least one five-star character available to unlock.

According to the latest leaks, Geshin Impact 1.5 will be arriving in late April and will bring Eula to the roster.

These most recent leaks are not being taken lightly by developers MiHoYo who have gone as far as addressing the information being shared, telling gamers on Twitter:

“Recently, we discovered the dissemination of leaked version 1.5. content.

“Such behaviour not only disrupts our plans to develop and promote the new version, but also causes some Travelers to have misconceptions about the content of the new version.

“Here, we kindly ask for the support and help of all Travelers to resist leaks, and maintain a fair gaming environment. We will also increase our efforts to deal with such illegal disclosures.”

From what has been shared so far, the Genshin team is planning on cracking down on recent leaks but it’s unclear what new content will be available during Genshin 1.5

As referenced in the statement, certain content might have leaked and linked to different versions of the game.

But like with most development projects, some things might need to be delayed, and could cause headaches if they have been shared by unofficial sources.

And it’s probably going to be a full month before we hear more about the Genshin Impact 1.5 release date and what is being planned for it.

In the meantime, there is still plenty of Genshin Impact 1.4 content to look forward to and play.

The Invitation to Windblume event is scheduled to kick off on March 19, the latest in a series of new changes made to the game.

During the event, Travelers can complete challenges related to the Windblume Festival to obtain Festive Tour Tickets and Peculiar Collab Coupons.

Gamers on PS4, PC and Mobile will be able to exchange these in the Event Shop for the event-exclusive weapon Windblume Ode (Bow) and its exclusive refinement material “The Visible Winds,” as well as the Crown of Insight.

There’s no rush to jump in as the new Genshin event will be running until early April and requires Adventure Rank 20 or above.

A message from Mihoyo confirms: “Travelers can participate in three types of Festive Challenges during the event: Bullseye Balloons, Floral Freefall, and Ballads of Breeze. Complete the challenges to obtain Festive Tour Tickets.

“A new stage will be unlocked for each Festive Challenge during each act. In single-player mode, beat certain scores to win prizes off the corresponding characters.

“In Co-Op Mode, you can try to best your friends in Bullseye Balloons and Floral Freefall challenges.

“After the Windblume Festival begins, more activities will appear in the Peculiar Wonderland as the event progresses, including Peculiar Challenges, Peculiar Trials, and Peculiar Conqueror tasks. Travelers can complete the challenges to obtain Peculiar Collab Coupons.”

Due to the time differences, the next big event for Genshin Impact is expected to start late in the day on March 19, in the UK.

Fortnite Season 6 release date, update launch time, live event news, Battle Pass and leaks

After what feels like one of the longest seasons ever, Fortnite developer Epic Games is getting ready to unleash Chapter 2, Season 6.

The Fortnite Season 6 update has a March 16 release date on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Android.

Downtime for Season 6 begins at 4am GMT for fans living in the UK. That’s midnight ET for Fortnite users in the US.

According to Epic Games, the update launch time will vary from platform to platform, although downtime will end at the same time on consoles, mobile and PC.

What’s slightly more confusing is exactly when the new Fortnite season will begin.

The Zero Crisis story cinematic will be available to watch live from 8am GMT. It’s likely the season will begin directly after the premiere of the trailer.

This means players should be able to drop in and experience the Zero Crisis solo mission just after 8am GMT. Express Online will update this story when more information becomes available.

“CH2 Season 6 launches on March 16 with the explosive conclusion of the events of Season 5,” reads an Epic Games tweet. “You’ll play through the culmination of Agent Jones’ mission in the Zero Crisis Finale. This is a solo experience & you can play through it whenever you first log in during the Season.”

Speaking of the trailer, you can watch it for yourself by clicking play (at 8am GMT) on the YouTube embed below.

Fans who skip the viewing of the live cinematic trailer will presumably be able to watch it and play the mission once the game comes back online.

In the run up to Fortnite Season 6, Epic Games has recommended turning up the Cinematics Volume in the Audio tab before downtime begins.

“Chapter 2 Season 6 launches with the explosive Zero Crisis Finale experience,” Epic explains. “Make sure your Cinematics Volume setting is adjusted in the Audio tab before downtime begins.”

To adjust volumes and make other adjustments, simply fire up the options menu and scroll along to the Audio tab, where you’ll find sliders for everything from music, sound effects and voice chat, to dialogue, picture-in-picture and Cinematics.

As for what fans can expect from Season 6, Epic has been pretty stingy with the teasers, although in one previous tweet, Agent Jones can be heard requesting access to restricted file 8752.

After his credentials are revoked, Jones can then be heard requesting access to all materials relating to The Seven, which is also denied.

In a follow up tweet, Jones can be seen donning the headband and getting ready for action.

“If they won’t give us what we want. Then we’ll take it ourselves,” the tweet reads.

The solo mission will almost certainly see players assume the role of Agent Jones as he strives to stabilise reality and fix the Zero Point issues.

Dataminers and Fortnite streamers are keeping relatively tight-lipped when it comes to leaks, although some info is likely to trickle out ahead of the new season.

One rumour is that wolves will be added to Fortnite as part of the new season.

That’s based on an image that can be seen in the background of the aforementioned Agent Jones tweet.

Fans have also spotted an unreleased Save the World shotgun, which could end up in Battle Royale.

One of the more bizarre leaks is that football superstar Neymar could make an appearance in Fortnite, most likely as part of the Battle Pass.

Could the new season’s Battle Pass also include the Peter Griffin Family Guy skin we’ve been hearing about? Only a few hours left to find out.

Fortnite Season 6 leaks start coming before Fortnite Season 5 live event

New Fortnite Season 6 leaks and teasers are finding their way onto the internet before Epic Games has had the chance to wrap up Season 5.

The development team has big plans for next week, with a new Battle Pass, and storyline set to go live.

And while most of the big Season 6 news remains under lock and key, a few Fortnite leaks have emerged.

This includes the new launch icon going live early and being found by gamers way ahead of the new season being released.

It features the BattleBus but not much more, meaning fans still don’t know what the new theme will be.

There has also been some speculation over a series of leaks that appear to be linked to Fortnite found on ArtStation.

Leakers are unsure if they have any connection for Season 6 so there is a good chance they are just concepts from another project.

There has also been a lot of speculation regarding another big crossover coming to the game during Season 6.

Some believe that Fortnite Season 6 will feature more DC Comic characters, although there have been no substantial leaks to back this idea up.

And some prominent leakers have ruled out the idea of another big crossover so soon after what we saw with Marvel.

But whatever is being planned for Fortnite Season 6, there seems a good chance we will find out earlier than expected.

With leaks already popping up this week, gamers can expect more to follow during the build-up for the Season 5 live event.

Developers Epic Games announced earlier this week that Fortnite Season 5 would be ending with a big bang.

This will include a new Fortnite live event that will be available to watch and play at different times.

Gamers will be able to watch the Fortnite Live Event premiere before the end of Season 5, which has been scheduled for March 16.

We don’t have an exact release date for when this new experience will be available to stream, but the premiere will broadcast before Wednesday, March 17, 2021, in the UK.

And while gamers will be able to watch what happens, they will also be able to play through it during the start of Fortnite Season 6, as part of a new solo experience.

So even if you miss the global live event premiere, you’ll be able to play it as soon as Fortnite Season 6 starts.

A message from Epic Games explains: “Chapter 2 Season 6 launches on March 16 with the explosive conclusion of the events of Season 5.

“When you first launch into the new season, you’ll play through the conclusion of Agent Jones’ mission in the Zero Crisis Finale. The aftermath of this event is sure to shape Reality as we know it.

“Don’t worry, the Zero Crisis Finale is a solo experience, and you can play through it whenever you first login during the Season. Want to watch it online first? We’ll share details soon on how you can watch the global premiere with everyone.”

PS Plus March 2021 FREE PS5 and PS4 games reveal date, time, leaks, PlayStation Plus deals

UPDATE: The March 2021 PS Plus reveal has been delayed, and is now likely to take place during this week’s State of Play event.

While Sony has been pretty consistent with PS Plus announcements over the years, the company has been known to mix things up for State of Play events.

With this in mind, fans are almost certain to find out the free PS5 and PS4 games during this week’s State of Play event, which kicks off at 10pm GMT UK time on February 25.

There are rumours that Yakuza Like a Dragon could be revealed as the free PS5 game for March 2021, so it’s worth checking back for updates.

ORIGINAL: Sony is getting ready to unveil the free PlayStation Plus games for March 2021.

The next batch of PS Plus free games will be announced at 4.30pm UK time on the afternoon of February 24.

There’s a chance the free games will leak ahead of time, so keep checking back for all the latest PlayStation Plus news and information.

The free PS5 and PS4 games will be available to download less than a week later on the morning of March 2.

This gives current PlayStation Plus members a couple of weeks to grab the February 2021 line-up of Control Ultimate Edition, Concrete Genie and Destruction All-Stars.

With such a strong line-up of free games for February, fans will hoping for a similarly strong month in March.

Indeed, in the run up to the PS Plus free games reveal, some fans have been making their own predictions for March 2021.

Needless to say, fans on Reddit think that more first-party games will be available as part of the March PS Plus line-up.

This includes Uncharted: The Lost Legacy for PS4, as well as Horizon Zero Dawn, MediEvil for PS4, GT Sport, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Dreams.

No Man’s Sky is another game with a lot of votes, especially now that it’s been upgraded for PS5. It could be that Sony gives away the PS5 version, and not the PS4 edition.

The Pathless is also tipped to appear as a free PS5 game, as is Dirt 5, Borderlands 3, Mortal Kombat 11 and Godfall.

In terms of PS4 games, there are votes for everything from Dark Souls Remastered and Hellblade, to Far Cry 5 and Man of Medan.

My personal predictions are for The Pathless on PS5, as well as Uncharted Lost Legacy and The Surge 2.

If you’re looking to sign up to PS Plus, or maybe to extend your existing membership, then ShopTo is the place to visit.

At the time of writing, the UK retailer is currently selling 12-month PlayStation Plus subscriptions for just £39.85, compared to £49.99 on PSN.

As a digital membership, the PS Plus subscription will be delivered immediately, which means you can use it to bag the latest batch of free PlayStation Plus games.

This includes the excellent February 2021 line-up of Control, Concrete Genie and Destruction All-Stars, as well as the March 2021 free games launching next week.
