Ahead of “Space Jam: A New Legacy” releasing in theaters and on HBO Max in the U.S. on July 16, I’m thrilled to share an unprecedented collaboration from Xbox, Republic Records, and Warner Bros. on the music video for “Gametime” by Lil Tecca and Aminé from the Space Jam: A New Legacy Official Soundtrack. Featuring a rap superstar, an iconic film franchise, and the greatest athlete of this generation — we have never done anything of this magnitude between sports, music, film, and video games.

Lil Tecca started his rap career while on Xbox Live and now he finds himself as the newest member of the Tune Squad in the video — fully animated and playing alongside LeBron James, Bugs Bunny, and Lola Bunny as a character in Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game. Lil Tecca, with the help of the Tune Squad, goes head-to-head in a classic, beat ‘em up fashion against the Goon Squad. Xbox and Nike Launch Exclusive Space Jam: A New Legacy Bundle on Nike SNKRS App

After many months collaborating with Warner Bros. and Nike, Xbox is excited to officially unveil an exclusive “Space Jam: A New Legacy” feature film-inspired Xbox Wireless Controller and sneaker bundle. Launching in the Nike SNKRS app in North America on July 15, the bundle includes a Road Runner vs Wile E. Coyote Nike LeBron 18 Low and – for the first time ever on the Nike SNKRS app – an exclusive Road Runner vs Wile E. Coyote Xbox Wireless Controller. This special release duo features a design inspired by the classic and relentless Looney Tunes chase between the crafty Wile E. Coyote and the ever-elusive Road Runner.

Exclusive Space Jam: A New Legacy Bundle

Taking inspiration from Wile E, Road Runner and the LeBron 18 Lows, the Xbox design team set out to tell a deeper story and bring together the controller and sneakers in a scene representative of the classic Looney Tunes rivalry.

Nike Senior Designer of Footwear Jason Petrie brought to life each of the beloved Looney Tunes with the LeBron 18 Lows. The left shoe represents Wile E. in earth tones with a Nike logo that looks like an ACME contraption set to trap Road Runner, while the right shoe features Road Runner blue tones with a touch of yellow and a Nike logo enveloped in dust clouds.

Exclusive Space Jam: A New Legacy Bundle

The controller brings elements of each shoe together and is the aftermath of a Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner encounter. For the lucky ones that get the product collection, they’ll be able to see up-close the chaotic scene with dust clouds of the Road Runner settling as he speeds across the controller and the many cobbled contraptions of Wile E Coyote’s foiled attempts. The controller seamlessly blends the relationship between the shoes and characters, completing the story while living up to the unique expression of the LeBron 18 Lows.

We also made sure all details on the controller hinted to details on the LeBron 18 Lows. The Road Runner vs. Wile E. Coyote Xbox Wireless Controller has a textured grip and a hybrid D-pad—which perfectly integrates the iconic ACME logo. On the sides of the controller, fans will notice the memorable phrases of “Yeeow!” and “Beep! Beep!” highlighting the physical humor of the Wile E. and Road Runner.

Exclusive Space Jam: A New Legacy Bundle

To get fully immersed in the world of Looney Tunes, test the new Road Runner vs. Wile E. Coyote controller on Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game, the official film-inspired arcade-style video game launching exclusively into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks today and available free-to-play for all fans through the Microsoft Store on July 15. Xbox also recently announced three controllers inspired by the Tune Squad, Good Squad, and the Warner Bros. Serververse from “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” available for retail purchase on July 8 in North America. In the meantime, keep your eyes on the SNKRS app and stay tuned for the official bundle drop on July 15.

Pearland librarian's legacy lives on as husband pleads guilty to her murder

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — More than two years after a former Houston Police Sergeant shot and killed his wife, he’s plead guilty to murder and was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

It’s justice for a family still coping with unimaginable loss.

Belinda Hernandez was a school librarian, an educator, and a life-long learner.

In March 2019, her husband, Hilario Hernandez, who was an HPD sergeant for more than 30 years at the time, shot and killed her. He took off and was later arrested not far from the Texas-Mexico border, leaving the couple’s adult children to grieve.

Christina Foos is their daughter. On Friday, she faced her father, who she now calls Larry, in court.

As her father prepares to begin his sentence, Foos is following in her mother’s footsteps as an educator for Pearland ISD.

“It’s definitely been a long two years,” she said. “A devastating situation for my brother and myself. Essentially, that day, we lost both our parents. Mainly, what I made the focus about was her and her legacy. I made that known in the speech that it is no longer about him and it’s completely about her.”

Foos is grateful this chapter is closed. Her mother’s memory is a constant reminder of how to live a good life.

“We miss her every day. She is just simply irreplaceable,” Foos said.

Belinda’s legacy lives on at two Pearland ISD campuses, one at which she was the librarian and another at which she taught reading.

There are free libraries filled with donated books, all dedicated in her memory.

Sonia Serrano first hired Belinda more than 20 years ago and mentored her as the mother of two went back to school to become a teacher. She then earned her master’s degree so she could become a librarian and share her love of reading.

“She had a passion for education,” Serrano said. “She was a life-long learner. She loved books. She loved providing instructions to students no matter what her role was. She took every opportunity available to teach kids life lessons. “

Michelle Kiefer, the principal at Shadycrest Elementary, said she misses Belinda’s spirit, but thinks of her when she walks into the library or when she sees the mural she painted or when she passes the little library built in her honor.

“We just couldn’t be more proud of Belinda Hernandez and the legacy she has created, not only for her kids and her family, but for Pearland ISD and the whole Pearland community,” said Kiefer.

In addition, those libraries mean everything to her children.

“We’re so honored and feel very blessed that she continues to live on in our community,” said Foos.

PS Plus July 2021 FREE PS5 and PS4 games: Predator, Uncharted Lost Legacy and Plague Tale

Sony is getting ready to reveal the free PlayStation Plus games for July 2021.

The next batch of PS Plus free games will be officially revealed on June 30 at 4.30pm. The games will be available to download less than a week later on July 6.

For those keeping track, this gives existing subscribers just over a week to download the current selection of games, which include Star Wars Squadrons and Operation Tango.

Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is staying on PlayStation Plus until August 2021.

In the run up to the big reveal, Reddit users have been having fun predicting which games will appear on PS Plus this July.

The monthly predictions thread has been pretty successful as of late, so it will be interesting to see if the trend continues.

First-party games tend to get the most votes, although Sony is starting to run out of PlayStation exclusives to give away.

With pretty much the entire saga appearing on PS Plus in the past, Uncharted Lost Legacy is a popular choice.

Gravity Rush 2 also makes an appearance, alongside Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding, Gran Turismo Sport and The Last of Us Part 2 – which seems like a real long shot.

Elsewhere, fans are predicting everything from Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered, to Dark Souls 3 and Resident Evil 7.

Indie favourites like Untitled Goose Game and Firewatch get a few votes, as well as The Forest, Celeste and Visage.

There are votes for World War Z, Snowrunner, Ace Combat 7, Dragon Age Inquisition, a Need for Speed game, Jedi Fallen Order, Marvel’s Avengers and Shenmue.

Predator Hunting Grounds is one of the more popular choices, especially as Sony tends to give away at least one online multiplayer game each month.

Judging by a previous leak, A Plague Tale Innocence will be the free PS5 game for July 2021, although nothing has been confirmed.

Other potential PS5 freebies include The Pathless, Nioh Remastered and Little Devil Inside, the latter of which launches in July.

In the meantime, PlayStation Plus subscribers can download and play Star Wars Squadrons and Operation Tango.

Star Wars Squadrons is a multiplayer space shooter in which squads of starships battle it out in huge online battles.

“Master the art of starfighter combat in the authentic piloting experience Star Wars: Squadrons. Buckle up and feel the adrenaline of first-person multiplayer space dogfights alongside your squadron.

“Take control of starfighters from both the New Republic and Imperial fleets such as the X-wing and TIE fighter. Customise loadouts and cosmetics, divert power between weapons, shields, and engines, while immersing yourself in the cockpit.

“In addition, players will have the option to play the entirety of the game in virtual reality on PlayStation VR!”

Operation Tango, on the other hand, is a co-operative spy adventure in which players team up to bring a “hi-tech global menace to its knees”.

Introducing Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game and Three Exclusive Xbox Wireless Controllers

“Space Jam: A New Legacy” is releasing in theaters and on HBO Max in the U.S. on July 16, and I’m really excited to share what Xbox and Warner Bros. Pictures have in store to celebrate the movie, as well as the video game inspired by the film. We are so exhilarated by the film that we are introducing three exclusive Xbox Wireless Controllers and we’re planning a special update to Microsoft’s Coding Workshops. But before we get into that, let me give you an inside look at the film- and fan-inspired Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game.

It’s Tunes Vs. Goons in Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game

It’s Tunes Vs. Goons in Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game

This past December, Xbox, LeBron James, and Bugs Bunny – the ultimate dream team– invited real-life game fans to submit their ideas for a Space Jam: A New Legacy-inspired video game. We are excited to showcase the same game logo, exclusive in-game character art, and gameplay as is shown in the new trailer.

Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game

We were flooded with entries from around the world, and many of them were really great. It was a tough decision. To create the final game, we blended the ideas of two gamers: our youth-competition winner, Narayan from India, and our adult-competition winner, Ricky from the United States. Xbox and Warner Bros. were energized by Ricky’s idea of a classic “beat ’em up” blended with game mechanics that Narayan had suggested. The game is inspired by the upcoming live action/animated feature film with deep reverence for the lively characters in Space Jam: A New Legacy and appreciation of the Tune Squad’s pop culture influence, all while reminiscent of classic arcade games of the 1990s.

Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game

Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game features the beloved Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny and the newest member of the Tune Squad, LeBron James, as they face the Goon Squad in a wacky basketball beat ‘em up. A rogue artificial intelligence named Al G. Rhythm has trapped our heroes inside the Warner Bros. server, with little chance of escape. The Tune Squad must fight their way through a virtual army of Al G.’s creation while also searching for four pieces of “Legacy Code” that will allow them access to the nefarious villain’s secret location. Al G. has sent two members of the Goon Squad – The Brow and White Mamba – to stop the Tune Squad in their tracks. Fortunately, our heroes have access to a variety of moves, including a special basketball, and some rather unique Space Jam cards, to help them out. But will their teamwork be enough to stop Al G. Rhythm’s evil plans?

Introducing Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game

The game is launching globally on July 1 exclusively into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks for a limited time. And if you’re not yet familiar with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks, it is a free benefit program that makes in-game add-ons, consumables, partner offers and more available to Ultimate members. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can redeem the game by visiting the Perks gallery on Xbox consoles within the Xbox Game Pass tab, in the Xbox App for Windows 10 PC, or within the Xbox Game Pass mobile app on iOS and Android devices. On July 15, the game will be available free-to-play for all fans through the Microsoft Store on Xbox.

Introducing Space Jam: A New Legacy - The Game

The talented group at Digital Eclipse, a game developer known for its dedication to preserving the heritage of gaming, helped bring the game to life. The team is composed of game industry veterans who grew up when arcades were flourishing, and they have recaptured the magic and spirit of games that were popular during that time. Digital Eclipse’s passion for arcade-style video games comes to life through the art, design and feel of the game.

Join In on the Fun with Microsoft Coding Workshops

Join In on the Fun with Microsoft Coding Workshops

One of the reasons why I am so passionate about this partnership with Warner Bros. is that we got a front row seat to the incredible creativity of hobbyist game creators around the world. It is always so inspiring to think about the power of game development as a tool for unlocking creative, academic or even career opportunities for people. So last December, we launched the Microsoft Store Space Jam: A New Legacy-inspired coding workshop with the help of Space Jam: A New Legacy characters, gaming industry pros and athletes—including tennis phenom Coco Gauff and basketball player Brandan Wright. Fast forward to today and I’m so proud to share that, in addition to the new arcade-style game, thousands of students have completed the workshop. This was an opportunity for people to learn game design and block-based coding, and it was so popular that students ages eight and older who missed the workshop will have another chance to attend when the class will be featured this summer in the Microsoft Store virtual summer camp series, Summer Passport to Digital Fun. And for more experienced coders, older teens and adults, we are adding three new on-demand modules to Microsoft Learn.

Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game, the exclusive controllers and Microsoft’s latest Coding Workshops offers fans and gamers of all ages a way to get game-ready before the release of the film on July 16. Stay tuned for more Space Jam: A New Legacy partnership updates from Xbox and Warner Bros. in the coming weeks and welcome to the Jam!

Betsy DeVos left Washington 5 months ago. Her legacy is alive and well.

The Education Department in June held a weeklong hearing to begin dismantling DeVos’ regulation on how schools must handle reports of sexual misconduct. It also made its mark on civics education by rejecting former President Donald Trump’s demands for promoting a rosier view of American history and “patriotic” education, by praising The New York Times Magazine’s 1619 Project, which Trump has called “toxic propaganda.” Talk of school choice, a topic that DeVos championed throughout her tenure, has also been placed on the back burner.

“It’s not a surprise that the Biden Education Department is doing precisely what they promised in the campaign, which is trying to undo just about everything that their predecessor did,” said Jeanne Allen, founder of the Center for Education Reform, which advocates for school choice.

Paxton is defending DeVos’ Title IX rule from a barrage of lawsuits, while Gov. Greg Abbott, a Republican, has signed a law creating the “1836 Project,” a reference to the year Texas declared independence from Mexico. Trump’s 1776 Commission, a panel he created after last summer’s civil unrest as a counterpoint to the 1619 Project’s emphasis on American slavery, is still meeting despite being disbanded by President Joe Biden in January. New parents groups are also pushing back on civics education that highlights systemic racism.

West Virginia became the latest state to expand its charter school system. And pandemic-spurred public school closures created the “clearest case I’ve seen for school choice in our lifetime,” Scott said in an address to rebut Biden’s first address to Congress.

“Those of us who’ve worked through all different administrations appreciate when the states step up and take their rightful position, making sure parents are put ahead of bureaucracies,” Allen said.

Here are three policy areas where DeVos’ supporters are hoisting the biggest defenses:

Civics — Larry Arnn and Parents Defending Education

The resurrected 1776 Commission, led by Hillsdale College President Larry Arnn, held its first post-election meeting last month with a focus on civic education curricula.

The group has commended conservative states that have turned their attention toward developing “a genuine civics education that will rebuild our common bonds, our mutual friendship and our civic devotion.” The commission is still drawing up a curriculum designed in the “true spirit of 1776.”

Arnn’s group is also urging parents who believe in their cause to run for school board and vote in those elections.

“There is no more powerful force than parents’ love for their children, and this restoration will depend on mothers and fathers demanding that their children are no longer taught false narratives or fed hateful lies about our country,” the commission said.

At least one group of parents has rallied to the 1776 cause: Parents Defending Education.

Led by Nicole Neily, who also serves as president of national campus free speech organization Speech First, Parents Defending Education has been filing complaints against public school systems with the Education Department’s Office of Civil Rights. They have targeted school groups for minority students as promoting racial segregation and anti-racist actions taken by schools.

The group filed a complaint against Ohio’s Columbus City Schools in May, after it admitted in April 2021 that “Systemic racism … has existed for 175 years within the Columbus City Schools education system.” Parents Defending Education said in a statement that the admission of systemic racism “raises questions as to why Columbus City Schools continues to receive federal funds since discrimination on the basis of race, color, or national origin is a violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.”

The complaint is similar to an Education Department probe launched under DeVos into Princeton University last summer after the school’s president said students there face “systematic racism” and that racism is “embedded” in the structures of the university.

“Parents Defending Education’s work is nonpartisan,” the group said in a statement. “We oppose discrimination in America’s schools, period. If the Education Department adopts policies frustrating that ideal, we will continue to speak up, submit comments, and pursue the appropriate remedies to protect parents’ and students’ rights.”

Title IX and gender — Texas Republicans

Paxton, the Texas AG, has been trying to mount a legal defense of the Trump administration’s Title IX sexual misconduct rules, but last month a federal judge dismissed his request to intervene in a lawsuit. He argued in a brief that the Education Department’s latest Title IX review announced in April was a threat to the rule and that the Biden administration is “openly hostile to the Final Rule,” making the department unfit to defend the rule in court.

“The new administration has taken early steps towards the Final Rule’s repeal,” Paxton wrote. “In light of these actions, Texas cannot entrust the defense of its protectable interest to the Department.”

It’s unclear whether Texas will be able to intervene in the lawsuit.

Texas and other states are continuing DeVos’ efforts to bar transgender students from women’s sports teams and strip those students of discrimination protection under Title IX.

This year, Texas, Alabama, North Carolina, Kentucky, Idaho and Florida have passed laws to bar transgender female students from playing on sports teams that match their gender identity.

In 2017, DeVos revoked Obama-era guidance that protected transgender students under Title IX. Her agency later backed a high-profile lawsuit that threatened Connecticut’s sports authority and school boards with legal action or a loss of funding because it determined the transgender athlete policy violated Title IX.

School choice — the Center for Education Reform

Scott, a staunch supporter of school choice, made a strong case for the DeVos-era policy agenda item in his rebuttal to Biden’s first address to Congress in April.

“I’m saddened that millions of kids have lost a year of learning when they could not afford to lose a single day,” he said. “Our public schools should have reopened months ago. Other countries’ did. Private and religious schools did.”

A survey released by the American Federation for Children, which DeVos led before joining the Trump administration, in January found that 72 percent of K-12 parents who work full-time support school choice, and 79 percent support Education Freedom Scholarship legislation.

The freedom scholarship measure, a favorite of DeVos, aimed to provide federal tax credits for donations to scholarship-granting organizations to pay for students to attend private schools or expand their public education options.

School choice has not been a hot debate topic in Congress like it was when DeVos was in office. But Allen said it is by no means an indication that support for charter schools and choice are dwindling — even with the Education Department’s “negativity.”

“The efforts that are ongoing at the department are attempts to not just reduce program funding, but to try to put what I’d call poison pills in regulatory language and guidance — push Departments of Education to be harder on who gets approved and doesn’t,” she said in an interview, adding that “states have been adopting and expanding their own programs.”

This year West Virginia and Iowa have moved to allow charter school expansion in their states. Other states like Tennessee are also looking to bolster their charter schools programs.

“Parents are more activated than ever before,” she said. “I like to say just like it shouldn’t have taken a hurricane to turn around New Orleans, it shouldn’t have taken a pandemic to wake up families and the public, but that’s precisely what happened.”

Prince Edward 'mirrors wife Sophie Wessex' as he honours Prince Philip legacy in new video

The analyst said: “There’s something endearingly warm and low-status about Edward’s body language in this clip.

“Listen to his enthusiastic intonation and his accent, which sounds far less in the RP or Queen’s English style than most other royals, making him sound very different to his parents and his older brother Charles with their more stylised delivery.”

She added: “He kicks off by projecting that enthusiasm straight away, raising his brows and pulling his arms into his torso, with his top lip curled up at the corners to form a part-smile.

“With his small head-bounces and head tilts, Edward sounds like a friendly teacher or children’s tv presenter.

“His delivery style is akin to a storyteller as though he is keen to engage a younger audience and inspire them rather than to deliver a formal speech.”

Edward shows “humility” in his heartfelt thank you to volunteers, the analyst claimed.

PS Plus June 2021 free games predicted: Uncharted Lost Legacy and NBA 2K?

Sony will be launching new PS Plus free games very soon, with the big reveal being held in the coming days.

This will give subscribers a new roster of titles to download and play on their PS4 or PS5 consoles.

And assuming Sony doesn’t break with tradition, the next batch of PlayStation Plus games will be unveiled at 4.30 pm BST on May 26.

The good news is that gamers won’t have to wait for them to go live, with the next free games scheduled to be released on June 1.

This year has already seen several high-profile exclusives released by Sony, including Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Days Gone, Destruction All-Stars, and Control Ultimate Edition.

And that’s without mentioning the current free games that can be downloaded right now, including Wreckfest for PS5, and Stranded Deep and Battlefield V.

Fans have been sharing their own predictions on what could be coming next, with plenty of first and third-party names being shared.

One that keeps popping up is Uncharted Lost Legacy, and it’s easy to see why. It remains a perfect choice for Sony to share for free with subscribers and fit the current pattern.

With the likes of Days Gone, Uncharted 4 and FF7 already featured, it would make sense that Lost Legacy would arrive at some point too.

And it should also be noted that Sony is starting to run out of blockbusters to release.

Uncharted Lost Legacy is the only title in the series not to appear on PS Plus, with other exclusives including Gravity Rush 2, The Order 1886, Marvel’s Spider-Man and racing simulation GT Sport.

PS5 games are also being featured, meaning we could see the launch of Sackboy: A Big Adventure, The Pathless, Planet Coaster and Marvel’s Avengers.

Third-party games that are being talked about right now include NBA 2K21, which recently became a free download on PC.

Gamers who want to try out the BasketBall sim can head over to the Epic Games Store and claim it for no extra charge with an account.

And for those waiting for something new to play, Knockout City recently launched and is available to try for free this weekend.

The ten-day free trial can be found on the PlayStation Store and while it requires a PS Plus subscription, this weekend, Sony is making multiplayer free until Sunday, May 23 at 11:59pm local time.

A message from EA confirms: “The smart brawlers who purchase during Block Party will receive bonus content that will stack with any rewards you’ve unlocked playing during the free trial period.

“If you’re an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or EA Play subscriber, it’s simple: you’ll get the full game at launch, with all the custom cosmetics that come with purchasing during Block Party.

“Limited time free trial 21 May to 30 May. Trial time is subject to change. Internet connection, EA account and acceptance of EA User Agreement (terms.ea.com) & Privacy and Cookie Policy (privacy.ea.com) required to play. Trial can be played once per EA account.”

Apex Legends servers are reportedly down again tonight following a bumpy start to Season 9 earlier this week.

Gamers report issues with connecting to live servers and receiving error messages stating that no servers could be found.

One affect user commented: “I get home from a day at work, sit down and turn on some Apex, which I’ve been thinking about all day due to the new season, and I’m met with a can’t connect to servers error. This is unacceptable for such a large company; it’s not just one server down.”

Another adds: “If you are on PC, most likely you can connect to servers. Those on consoles are the ones it would seem having the most trouble.”

The good news is that while thousands of comments are online backing up this latest server outage report, it appears it could be short-lived.

While many found themselves unable to play during the launch of Apex Legends Season 9, today’s outage has already seen a drop in reports, meaning that things could be solved very quickly.

Apex Legends update time: Release date for Season 9 Legacy, Valkyrie patch notes

Developers Respawn Entertainment has revealed its update time plans for Apex Legends Season 9: Legacy.

This is set to go live complete with Arenas Mode, a new 3vs3 experience that breaks the usual Battle Royale formula.

There will also be new map changes made to Olympus, with the lost fleet dropping into orbit, bringing with it an otherworldly, parasitic plant that has begun to take root along the surface.

The lead ship, The Icarus, has docked with the city and changed the landscape for good, with Respawn telling fans this week:

“A rogue fleet of ships from outer space has breached the atmosphere of Psamathe. Its lead vessel, The Icarus, has docked with Olympus, bringing with it a viscous, parasitic plant of unknown origin. The resulting outbreak begins to take root along the surface of Olympus and the accompanying vessels can be seen from as far away as the Docks.

“This new drop location can be found between Bonsai Plaza, Solar Array, and Orbital Cannon. The decrepit ship hosts four large rooms and contains tons of loot. Many squads should feel comfortable landing here, spreading out along the spine of the ship and pushing across its claustrophobic spaces.”

WHEN IS THE APEX LEGENDS UPDATE TIME?

Developers Respawn Entertainment has revealed that the Apex Legends update time has been set for Tuesday, May 4, at 6pm GMT.

For gamers in North America, Season 9 Legacy of Apex Legends will begin at 10am PST on PS4, Xbox and PC on the same day.

A message from Respawn adds: “The Games are going underground with the introduction of a new permanent mode: Arenas.

“Fully reassembled and unimpressed with the glitz and glamour of the Apex Games, former Apex Predator Ash is taking the competition back to its roots. A purer form of combat.

“The rules are simple: 3-versus-3. Eliminate your enemies to win the round. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. You win, or you die. See you legends tomorrow at 10am PT.”

Early patch notes have been shared confirming everything that’s being changed today behind the scenes.

This includes characters being rebalanced, with the Low profile trait being removed from Wraith, Lifeline, and Wattson due to an improvement being made to kits and hitboxes.

Other character changes can be found below as part of the official Apex Legends patch notes:

VALKYRIE

Kairi Imahara, the daughter of Apex Predator Viper, salvaged the remains of her father’s Northstar Titan years after his death. With Rampart’s help, she fashioned it into a sleek new jetpack that honors her family’s legacy. Now, she’s entered the Games under the name VALKYRIE.

Passive: VTOL Jets: Use your jetpack to reposition or reach high places. You have limited fuel and cannot use weapons while flying.

Tactical: Missile Swarm: Fire a swarm of mini-rockets which damage and disorient the enemy.

Ultimate: Skyward dive: Take to the skies to reposition a long distance across the map. Your squadmates can join in.

Class: Recon: Scanning Survey Beacons reveals the next circle’s location.

LIFELINE

Lifeline’s kit was not in a particularly healthy place. The Passive shield was extremely strong to the point of frustration, while her Tactical and Ultimate seemed like they were becoming more and more obsolete. These changes are aimed to redistribute this big power differential between all of her abilities, making D.O.C. and Care Package more powerful and effective, while tamping down on the highly binary and situational Combat Revive.

OCTANE

Octane continues to perform really well after the latest changes. Too well? We still love the frequency of the Jump Pad, but we’d like to make using Stim something Octane thinks about doing at the right time, instead of always slamming it by default.

LOBA

  • Burglar’s Best Friend: Can now run and slide at full speed while aiming the bracelet and while the bracelet is in the air. Loba will no longer be slowed after translocating.
  • Fixed a lot of bugs that caused bracelet tosses to fail.
  • Black Market Boutique: Increased cooldown from 90s to 120s.
