Prince Harry and Meghan Markle head out to Harlem school for latest leg of New York tour

The couple paid a visit to a school in Harlem on day two of their three-day New York City tour. Prince Harry, 37 and Meghan Markle, 40 surprised students at a Harlem school on Friday, September 24, and as they arrived in playground, they were asked how their children, Archie, two, and three-month-old Lilibet were doing.

Meghan responded to the calls with “They’re good!”

The visit sees them joining Schools Chancellor Meisha Porter at P.S. 123 Mahalia Jackson, and the couple aimed to highlight school initiatives and to promote early literacy.

During the visit, Meghan read her best-selling children’s book, The Bench, to a class of seven and eight-year-old children, in the second grade at the school.

The book focuses on a special bond between father and son, as witnessed through a mother’s eyes.

Previously, Meghan revealed the story was inspired by her husband Harry and his bond with their firstborn child Archie.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were also shown a mural painting by fourth and fifth-grade students, aged nine to eleven.

During the visit, where Meghan wore a burgundy suit and pointed-toe shoes, the couple discussed the school’s literacy efforts.

The couple, who stepped back from royal duties last year, also donated two garden boxes filled with vegetables and herbs to the school, to help support a growing need for easy access to fresh food in the community.

‘Added pressure’ Meghan Markle and Harry ‘anxious’ in latest appearance, says expert

Prince Harry, 37, and Meghan Markle, 40, made their return to the public spotlight by visiting a 9/11 memorial in New York. The Sussexes were joined by the city’s mayor Bill de Blasio and New York State Governor Kathy Hochul at One World Trade Center’s observatory.

The couple’s outing was the pair’s first public appearance since the birth of their second child, Lilibet, in June.

But one body language expert has said the Sussexes seemed to be feeling the “pressure” during their visit to the Big Apple.

Judi James told the Mirror: “The couple’s arrival looked suitable sombre to match the sombre venue but there were also some signs that the baby-break had created some added pressure for this first time in the spotlight again for the US power couple.

“Harry looked especially anxious, touching his wife’s back as she walked into the venue in a small steering gesture but then performing several checking touches of his jacket and clothing to hint at some inner nerves.

“Meghan walked ahead and she walked quickly, although their brief low-held wave and smile to the crowd was more reminiscent of their signature look.”

But Ms James also claimed that while the pair were less affectionate with each other than usual this could be because of the “sombre” tone of the event.

“There was little in the way of PDAs from the couple here, who might have felt the occasion deserved a more professional look,” she said.

The body language expert added: “Harry placed an arm around his wife’s back as they posed for photos inside the venue but their smiles were ‘Lightning’ smiles, performed quickly and rather rigidly for the camera before disappearing quickly again.

They now live in a $ 15million California mansion, which is almost 3,000miles away from the Big Apple.

Meghan Markle ‘wants to be a Kardashian’ after royal Megxit, says model Leilani Dowding

Leilani has previously dismissed Meghan’s claims that before marrying into The Firm, she hadn’t researched Harry’s famous family.

During a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan claimed that just moments before meeting the Queen, she was taught royal protocol and how to curtsy by Sarah, Duchess of York.

Speaking to Oprah, Meghan said: “Thank God I didn’t know a lot about the family, thank God I hadn’t researched – I would’ve been so in my head about it.”

Discussing royal protocol after being asked if she knew how to curtsy, Meghan added: “I thought genuinely that’s what happens outside, I thought that was part of the fanfare, but I didn’t think that’s what happened inside.

“And I said ‘but it’s your grandmother’, and he goes ‘it’s the Queen’.”

However, the model who now lives in Staffordshire with her fiancé, musician Billy Duffy, of The Cult has dismissed Meghan’s claim.

She said: “Absolutely not [true] in this day and age, everyone Googles everyone.”

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle shut down Queen Elizabeth’s ‘constant meddling’

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle shut down Queen Elizabeth’s ‘constant meddling’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly lost complete patience with Queen Elizabeth’s constant meddling during their time in the palace.

The claim has been brought forward by royal expert Camilla Tominey who revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle always wanted to branch out with their own press office but were blocked by the Queen and Prince Charles.

Ms. Tominey made the admission in an ITV documentary titled Harry and William: What Went Wrong?

In it she was quoted saying, “Rather than have their own press office established, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were told that they would be incorporated into Buckingham Palace.”

“It’s at that point that the Queen and Prince Charles sweep in and say ‘no, we will manage your affairs’. And in a way, that’s the final straw because once again the Sussexes are saying ‘why can’t we have what the Cambridges are having? We should be on equal footing’.”

‘Resolution much harder’: Meghan Markle and Harry’s Oprah interview created ‘a hardening’

Neil said: “If you can’t, take a break and come back face to face or by email and, if you have identified a negative quality in the other, look for and acknowledge that very quality in yourself.

“If you have identified a positive quality in yourself, look for that in the other and share these.

“This may help to break down barriers and realise that you are both similar.

“If this doesn’t work, accept that you tried and ensure you leave the door open to talking about this in the future.

Petulant Piers Morgan swipes at Meghan Markle again over ITV rumours

Piers Morgan took another swipe at Meghan Markle as he insisted ITV didn’t get rid of him ahead of her latest interview.

In a fresh Twitter attack, the outspoken TV personality launched a tirade against the Duchess of Sussex over the weekend on Saturday following his pre-father’s day dinner with his son Spencer.

Ahead of Meghan’s interview about her children’s book and New York Times bestseller The Bench, the former Good Morning Britain presenter took the opportunity to make another dig at the actress, reports the Mirror.

Insistent Piers claimed ITV didn’t get rid of him; instead, he said he left because he refused to apologise for not believing the Suits star about her mental health battle which she spoke about at length in her Oprah chat.

He wrote: “ITV didn’t get rid of me. I left GMB because I declined to apologise for disbelieving Princess Pinocchio.

“But I still work for ITV, as you’ll see tomorrow when my Life Stories show with @Joancollinsdbe airs at 9pm.”

His blunt words were a response to a trolling comment which read: “But you’re not being urged to ‘be gotten rid of’ the guy was referencing when ITV got rid of you…which they did! And you go on about virtue signalling!! Give me strength.”

Initially, Piers had tweeted an extract where a royal staffer claimed “Meghan had portrayed herself as a victim” from book Battle of Brothers which is being serialised by The Times.

Alongside the quote, he wrote: “Wow, I’m shocked. I thought Ms Markle was the Queen of Empathy, Kindness & Compassion?”

Some people were quick to question Piers’ harsh criticism and sarcasm on social media. One wrote: “Sarcasm like this belittles genuine mental health issues … Not a good look.”

To which, Piers responded: “Ah, so when a mental health campaigner urges me to be ‘gotten rid of’, that’s fine. But if I respond with sarcasm, it’s ‘not a good look’. Do you teach this woke bull**** in your classes?”

Sensationally the presenter quit Good Morning Britain just hours after storming out on a debate about the Duchess of Sussex following her bombshell interview with Oprah.

Having refused to apologise to the actress, Piers chose to leave with immediate effect and still remains on the hunt for his next job opportunity.

Piers reignited his feud with Meghan ahead of her latest interview with the NPR Weekend Show on Sunday.

Omid Scobie confirmed the Duchess of Sussex would be speaking after her book made the New York Times bestseller list.

He wrote on Twitter: “Fresh off the heels of her first children’s book becoming a certified #1 New York Times bestseller, Duchess Meghan will be giving her only interview about #TheBench to @samanthabalaban at the renowned @NPRWeekend show, this Sunday between 8am-10am Eastern.”

Meghan Markle surprises Olympic diver Tom Daley with a sweet gift ahead of Father's Day

The Bench has reached the top of the New York Times’ Bestseller list of children’s picture books since it was released.

After the praise she received, Meghan issued a message of gratitude to her supporters on the Archewell website, saying that her story encircling fathers and sons is showing “another side of masculinity.”

“While this poem began as a love letter to my husband and son, I’m encouraged to see that its universal themes of love, representation and inclusivity are resonating with communities everywhere.

“In many ways, pursuing a more compassionate and equitable world begins with these core values.

“Equally, to depict another side of masculinity — one grounded in connection, emotion, and softness — is to model a world that so many would like to see for their sons and daughters alike,” she added.
