Call of Duty Warzone update news before Cold War Zombies mid-Season patch reveal

More news regarding the Call of Duty Mid-Season patch is being revealed this week and will be part of an upcoming playlist update.

For Warzone gamers, this will mean a reshuffle of maps and modes, and perhaps a few bug fixes to add to the list.

And also scheduled for Thursday, July 8, Cold War gamers will be finding out more regarding Season 4’s new Black Ops: Cold War Zombies map.

This is reportedly launching next week and could be ready to play on July 15. However, before that happens, Activision is planning to make a series of reveals.

This will include new intel being shared regarding Mauer der Toten, with the Zombies expansion the main focus on this month’s mid-season refresh.

It’s been months since the last Zombies map was released, and it could be one of the last major updates for the popular mode.

More content is being planned for the future, with developers Treyarch telling fans earlier this year:

“Looking further ahead, development is already underway on more Zombies content for future seasons. In addition to that new content, players can expect new Perks, Wonder Weapons, Support Weapons, limited-time modes, and Dark Aether story intel along the way.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience while we continue development on our next map, and hope you have a blast with all the other Zombies content coming in the meantime.

“As a reminder, it’s important to remember an entire season of content doesn’t start and end on the first day.

“Seasons deliver content throughout multiple weeks, with a mid-season update dropping along the way with even more new content.”

This week should see Treyarch announce the final release date for the new Season 4 Zombies map, and fans are expecting something to arrive next week.

Meanwhile, gamers can expect a number of other tweaks and changes as part of this week’s July 8 update.

Treyarch has confirmed that a new Gunfight Tournament is set to go live with exclusive new in-game rewards on Thursday.

COD fans can also look forward to the return of the Snipers Only Moshpit and Knife Fight 3v3, while Rush and Capture the Flag are expected to be added later in July.

A message from Treyarch adds: “More community favourites continue this week with Face Off 6v6 and 12v12 Moshpit, offering plenty of ways to enjoy the newest Season Four maps: Collateral, Amsterdam, and Hijacked. Rush and Capture the Flag are also coming soon in July’s mid-season update. Stay tuned!

“Keep an eye on Treyarch and Call of Duty’s social channels this week for new intel on “Mauer der Toten,” the next chapter in the Black Ops Cold War Zombies saga.

“The wait is almost over… and the official trailer is just around the corner.

“And finally, this weekend everyone gets Double Battle Pass XP in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone, at 10 AM PT from July 9–12. Don’t miss out.”

Nico Rosberg weighs in on Mercedes replacing Valtteri Bottas with George Russell midseason

“And it gives everybody a bit of clarity… I guess we’ll see in the coming weeks really.”

However, the 2016 world champion Rosberg is unconvinced that a young driver would be the best team-mate for Hamilton.

The 35-year-old does not believe Wolff should make the switch, but conceded that Formula 1 fans might be keen for a change.

“That’s the big question at the moment. I think from a British perspective, you can be really excited about the future because you have two extremely talented up-and-coming drivers,” Rosberg told Sky Sports.

Call of Duty Warzone, Cold War mid-season update release date, time, pre-load, patch news

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone mid-season update (Image: ACTIVISION)

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War and Warzone fans are counting down to the release of the mid-season Reloaded update.

The new Call of Duty update has a May 20 release date on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.

The Reloaded mid-season update has a 5am BST launch time for fans living in the UK. That’s 9pm PT on May 19 for US players.

There’s good news for PlayStation users, who can pre-load the patch ahead of schedule. This means you can get stuck into the update right away.

Fortunately for Xbox users, the new Black Ops Cold War and Warzone updates aren’t as big as some of the previous releases, so it shouldn’t take too long to download.

The Black Ops Cold War update weighs in at 10.3 GB on PS5, 7.1 GB on PS4, 13.1 GB on Xbox Series X, 8.3 GB on Xbox One, and 10.3 GB on PC.

The Warzone update, on the other hand, weighs in at 14.6 GB on PS5 and PS4, 15.2 GB on Xbox Series X and Xbox One, and 14.9 GB on PC.

Needless to say, the mid-season update adds lots of new content, most notably the 80s Action Heroes event.

“The ’80s Action Heroes event kicks off with limited-time bundles and game modes, in addition to the weapons, maps, and other features already expected during this season,” Activision explains.

The 80s Action Heroes event launches alongside two new operators, including John Rambo and Die Hard lead character John McClane.

“Serving time for murder, highly decorated MACV-SOG soldier John Rambo is offered one more mission – return to Vietnam and locate American POWs. If successful, he will be released, and given a full Presidential pardon.

Available from the item shop, the Rambo bundle includes the legendary character; two Finishing Moves – including one using his signature bow and arrow; three Legendary Weapon Blueprints—an assault rifle, an LMG and a Knife Blueprint; a Legendary Calling Card and Emblem; and an Epic Watch and Charm.

“A hard-bitten cop on the streets of New York, John McClane has a talent for being in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Activision continues. “Now in the fight of his life, he’ll have to rely on his cocky attitude and level head to stay alive.”

The John McClane bundle also contains a Finishing Move, as well as three Legendary Weapon Blueprints – one tactical rifle, one SMG, and one assault rifle – a Legendary Calling Card and Emblem, an Epic Watch, and an Epic Weapon Charm.

Perhaps even more exciting is the addition of new points of interest in Warzone, such as Die Hard’s iconic Nakatomi Plaza building.

Survival Camps from the Rambo movies are also coming to the map, as well as a CIA Outpost.

Elsewhere, Rambo’s Combat Bow is available as a Killstreak, while the Ballistic Knife makes its debut as a new melee weapon in Warzone.

Black Ops Cold War fans also have reason to cheer, as two new multiplayer maps join the game.

This includes the 6v6 Standoff map, which was originally introduced in Call of Duty Black Ops 2.

“First introduced in Black Ops II, Standoff is a 6v6 medium-sized map that features a timeless three-lane feel and provides plentiful opportunities for outsmarting your opponents.

“Remember to check the central building, and always be mindful of a certain exploding van, which has plenty of notoriety within the Call of Duty competitive community.”

Duga also joins the game in Multi-Team modes, after spending the first half of the season in Outbreak.

“Duga offers something for every playstyle, whether you prefer to move through the central admin offices for close-range battles or work your way around the perimeter through the bus depot to the chemical processing plant for long-range battles.”

The mid-season update also makes a boatload of bug fixes and gameplay changes. You can see a small selection of the patch notes below…

Call of Duty Cold War update time and 1.17 mid-season patch notes

The new 1.17 mid-season Call of Duty Cold War update is launching today in North America and tomorrow in Europe.

The good news is that Activision has confirmed its plans early, revealing that there will be a lot of focus on Black Ops Zombie modes.

This includes expanding Outbreak Mode to include a new main in the lead up to a new Zombies map being released during Season 4.

The new mission is being added to Outbreak on May 20, as well as two new regions, 56 new Skill Tiers, two new Skill categories, two new Field Upgrades, a new Ammo Mod, and over a dozen Weapon Unlock Challenges.

The main quest will help build towards the launch of a new Zombies map in the coming months, with Treyarch telling fans this week:

“As we mentioned in our Season Three Special Broadcast, our next round-based Zombies map is planned to release during Season Four and will take place after the events of Outbreak’s Main Quests. The team has been working on this next map since before the release of “Firebase Z,” and we want to make it the best experience it can possibly be before it’s finally in your hands.

Seasons deliver content throughout multiple weeks, with a mid-season update dropping along the way with even more new content.

“Just because something doesn’t go live on Day One doesn’t mean it isn’t coming… it means it’s still in the works.”

Developers Raven Software has not confirmed when Call of Duty Warzone will be updated but there’s a good chance this will happen around the same time on May 20 in the UK and the evening of May 19 in North America.

Call of Duty Warzone update: Cold War mid-season patch news and trailer

Activision has provided a couple of tasty teasers this week to help launch the next Call of Duty Warzone and Cold War updates.

The Mid-Season patch is scheduled to be released later this week, with new content going live across both games on May 20.

However, before that date, there are a few things that COD fans will want to check out.

First, there is the new Call of Duty Warzone and Cold War trailer that will help build the excitement.

The 80’s Action Heroes Trailer for Season Three for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War & Warzone will be available to watch later today.

This is expected to focus on the new Rambo and John McClane skins that will be available to buy on May 20.

These will be part of the new Cold War Mid-Season update, with the new Call of Duty trailer set to go live at around 5pm BST.

Other heroes and 80s cosmetics are expected to be revealed as part of the new trailer, which might also help tease new content.

We already know that there is going to be more Zombies action via Outbreak mode later this week, with developers Treyarch confirming:

“Black Ops Cold War Zombies is primed to kick into high gear next week with the launch of our first Main Quest in Outbreak starting at 10AM PT on Thursday, May 20th! From there, we’re looking forward to releasing a record amount of quest-driven Zombies content as we gear up for the next chapters of the Dark Aether story.

“With our upcoming Outbreak Main Quests in both Seasons Three and Four, the events unfolding in the Ural Mountains will directly set up the story for our next round-based map. If you haven’t jumped into Outbreak lately – or if you’ve been looking for a new reason to kill a few thousand zombies with your friends – now’s the time.”

There will also be new content coming to Call of Duty Warzone, although this might be more limited due to how the start of Season 3 was so focused on the new Verdansk map.

The good news for gamers on PS4 consoles is that they can pre-download the new Call of Duty Cold War Mid-Season update now.

The new patch weighs in at around 11GB and will be available to install at 9PM PDT on May 18 (5am BST on May 19).

Warzone is expected to receive its own update on May 19 (May 20 in the UK), which should pave the way for the launch of the Call of Duty Mid-Season 3 patch.

More news regarding this week’s Call of Duty updates are expected to be shared by Activision in the coming hours.

Warzone patch notes today: Call of Duty update 1.34 LIVE with Mid-Season changes

UPDATE: Call of Duty Warzone update 1.34 is rolling out now across PS4, Xbox One and PC, and weighs in at over 50GB on all platforms.

The full Warzone patch notes have also been shared by developers Raven Software and includes the following changes:

GENERAL

GAMEPLAY

WEAPONS

ATTACHMENTS

OPERATORS

Developers Raven Software have confirmed that they will be releasing full Warzone patch notes today following this week’s big update.

We know what has changed in Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, including new content across Zombies and Multiplayer maps.

Developers Treyarch has also launched a new wave of weapon changes, telling gamers this week:

“In Season Two Reloaded, we’ve implemented tuning to make the Krig 6, FFAR 1, and Groza more competitive in the assault rifle class, while adjusting the Milano 821, KSP 45, LC10, MAC-10, and AK-74u in the SMG class. We’ve also made specific performance tuning to the RPG-7, 1911, Magnum, and more.

“These changes include complete tuning passes on Muzzle and Underbarrel attachments that affect Recoil on assault rifles and SMGs, increasing damage for rockets against enemies with Flak Jacket in Hardcore, and removing glint from sniper rifles with Iron Sights.”

The thing to note here is that Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Warzone use different weapon stats, meaning that these latest changes might not crossover to Battle Royale.

The good news is that Raven Software will be releasing a list of official Warzone patch notes later today.

This is expected to be shared before today’s Warzone update is released across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Early patch news has been shared for Season Two Reloaded, with Raven revealing that two new operators will be released over the coming weeks.

This will be going live alongside the new ZRG 20mm sniper rifle, and new bundles that will also be available within Warzone.

A description for the new rifle reads: “Boasting a higher bullet velocity than any other weapon in its class, the ZRG 20mm sniper rifle is built to excel in extremely long ranges. Operators will appreciate it’s fast reload speed and its ability to eliminate enemies with a single shot to the head, chest, or shoulders.

The bad news is that the big patch will probably cause a few server issues around the time the downloads go live.

However, after these new patches have been installed, the overall size of Warzone will be reduced, with Activision confirming:

“Enhancements to the overall content management system has been made possible through data optimization and streamlining content packs needed for individual game modes.

“This will come after a larger than usual, one-time update for Season Two Reloaded, which will include these optimizations and is necessary in order to reduce the overall footprint; future patch sizes for Modern Warfare and Warzone are expected to be smaller than the one set to release on March 30 at 11PM PST.

“Following the update, the Warzone file size will be reduced by between 10.9 GB and 14.2 GB, and the Modern Warfare/Warzone file size will be reduced by between 30.6 GB and 33.6 GB, depending on your platform.”

Call of Duty Cold War 1.14 update time and COD Warzone Mid-Season patch news

Call of Duty Cold War update 1.14 arrives in less than 24-hours and looks set to make some big changes.

Not only will Cold War see various new maps, modes and gun tuning incorporated as part of a mid-season refresh, but Warzone is also getting the patch treatment.

And the good news for some gamers is that Cold War 1.14 can already be downloaded, ready for it to be installed later this week.

According to gamers on PS4, Cold War version 1.14 is now available to pre-load on consoles, weighing in at around 7GB.

It might sound like a small download size, but gamers can also expect some kind of patch to arrive this week for Warzone too.

The only downside is that if you play on the PlayStation 5, the same option will not be available for you to try.

Pre-loading for Cold War is currently only available as an option on PS4, and there has been no word on it being expanded to other console platforms.

But while that might be a bit disappointing for waiting gamers, the relatively small download size should make things easy when it comes to launch time.

WHEN IS CALL OF DUTY COLD WAR 1.14 COMING OUT?

According to the PlayStation Store, Call of Duty Cold War update 1.14 has a scheduled release time set for 5am GMT, on March 30.

Things will be kicking off a little earlier in the United States, with the same patch set to launch at 9am PST.

This has been confirmed as the Cold War Mid-Season update, meaning it will contain all the new modes and maps that have already been teased.

From what has been shared so far, developers Treyarch are planning to share detailed patch notes before launch.

This will provide a rundown on what is being added to the game, although it’s unclear if it will cover Warzone.

Due to the integrated nature of the current Call of Duty games, both Warzone and Black Ops Cold War are expected to be patched at the same time.

But from what has been shared so far, these will be the next guns that will stat changes and weapon tuning:

  • LC10
  • AK-74u
  • MAC-10
  • KSP 45
  • Milano 821
  • Krig 6
  • FFAR 1
  • Groza
  • Magnum
  • 1911
  • RPG-7
  • LMG adjustments
  • Launchers buffed against Flak Jacket in Hardcore + more.

The FFAR has played a massive role in Warzone Season 2 and it seems destined for at least a small nerf.

Offering incredible bullet velocity and a range that can be expanded to go beyond close quarters, it has become one of the most used.

It will also be interesting to see if the MAC-10 is toned, and what new role is being planned for the Magnum.
