Mobile network Three has slashed the price of its SIM-only deals. If you already own a smartphone and don’t fancy an upgrade, you can sign-up to one of these brilliant SIM-only plans to unlock lightning-fast 5G data downloads, unlimited minutes and unlimited text messages. And for a limited time, Three is offering its 8GB SIM-only bundle for £5 a month.
The latest deal means you’ll get half-price monthly bills during the first six months of your contract. So, you’ll only have to spend £5 a month to unlock unlimited text messages, unlimited calls, and 8GB of 5G data. Not only that, but Three also throws-in its Go Roam Around The World, which lets you use your minutes, texts and mobile data as normal in 71 countries across the planet.
Compared with rivals EE and O2, which have announced plans to bring back roaming charges each day you’re in Europe – something that’s now allowed following the UK’s exit from the European Union – Three’s roaming policy seems even more generous than before.
Three says its 5G network is roughly 10x faster than its 4G speeds. In our speed tests with 5G handsets, we’ve clocked speeds anywhere from 200Mbps to 500Mbps, depending on our location. For comparison, the average home broadband speed in the UK, as recorded earlier this year, is roughly 70Mbps. So, you’ll be able to download movies and stream Netflix shows easier on your phone than your home Wi-Fi connection. That’s especially handy if you’re struggling with buffering during an important video call.
Under the terms of the contract, Three allows its customers to use their 5G-powered phone to bring Wi-Fi to other gadgets. That’s handy if you’re trying to work in a train carriage, coffee shop, or garden.
Of course, to benefit from these supercharged mobile speeds you’ll need to make sure your phone is 5G-compatible. When it comes to Android, 5G handsets have been around for a while, so it’s possible your device is ready-to-go and you didn’t even realise. Apple introduced 5G to the iPhone last year, so you’ll need to make sure you have one of the latest models, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max.
After the six-month promotional period, the SIM-only reverts to £10 a month, although that’s still a pretty solid deal. If you’d rather keep paying £5 a month for the duration of your contract, Three offers a plan at that cost… but you’ll have to settle for 1GB of mobile data allowance.

And this new tact seemed to have done the trick, with the latest Amazon UK restock sticking around for plenty of time.
Tweeting about the latest Amazon PS5 restock, the @UKPS5Notify Twitter earlier this morning posted: “Still in stock nearly 20 minutes later”.
It had been thought the PS5 Digital console would become available to buy around the same time as the PS5 Disc console at Amazon UK today.
But, at the time of writing, the PS5 Digital console hasn’t become available to buy just yet today.
The @PS5UKStock Twitter posted: “We’re still waiting on Digital everyone. It’s unusual to be this late but the Disc drop was unusually long. Digital has dropped across Europe, which is also a good sign it is coming.
“I’m here checking though, stay tuned.”

After the X Factor competition was brought to an end in 2009 One Direction paved their own way in the music industry. The boys enjoyed six years of incredible fame and popularity while selling more than 50 million albums. In 2013 the band was offered a chance to play on the Newcastle United football grounds.
1D was offered the opportunity by the team’s manager, Alan Pardew, who was introduced to the band by Tony Pierzchalski, a friend of the group.
Tony said at the time: “I’m good friends with Pards, I sorted it all out … I spoke to Pards and said: ‘Can I bring the boys into the training ground for a kick around?’ He was like: ‘Yeah, absolutely no problem. We’ll set up a match.'”
The band was ecstatic to be playing on professional grounds in the official Newcastle kit.
However, Zayn Malik was notably absent.
According to a report at the time, Zayn did not attend the event, opting instead to stay at a nearby hotel.
He was reportedly feeling “a little under the weather”.
The rest of the band, however, were very excited to be out and about playing football with the likes of Hatem Ben Arfa, Danny Simpson and Steve Harper.
Harry Styles joked around: “I’m an all-rounder. The next five years of your life at Newcastle Football club is big, so it’s an exciting day, a big day.”
What do you think?
Should Zayn Malik have attended the event?

Louis continued: “I came here to try and grab that deal and when [Pardew] called me out, it was a big moment. I’m very excited about this club.”
Niall added: “I got approached by the manager about six months ago, he’s wanted to take me into the club for a while, he said he’s been scouting me for a long time – since I played in the Champions League Final last season.
“It’s been a great summer, and I see myself as a solid centre midfielder.”
Less than two years later, Zayn announced he was leaving the band.
In 2015 Zayn’s exit sparked the beginning of the end for One Direction.
The team later split at the end of 2015, sparking the beginning of each of the members’ solo careers.

Another month, another deluge of software hitting our favourite handheld hybrid console’s eShop. The flow of new games coming to Switch has varied over the first months of 2021, but in general there are still far too many games arriving for us to be able to review them all, and unfortunately some of the smaller ones inevitably fall through the cracks.
Last year we asked the Nintendo Life community to nominate Switch games you believed were worth highlighting — games that we’d missed which you felt deserved some love and recognition on these webpages. We did the same six months later when you nominated a further 12 titles, and recently we’ve been posting summaries of intriguing games that caught our eye. Now we think’s it’s the perfect time to look at another round of Switch eShop hidden gem nominations.
Just as we did previously, we’re asking you dear readers to send us your brief musings (no more than 100 words) on Switch games that flew under the Nintendo Life radar. We’ll collate and read all the responses and pick our favourites for a feature showcasing those games with a trailer and your positive comments.
Below are the guidelines on how to send your recommendations — please read them carefully if you want to see your entries included in the feature:
If you’ve got any questions on the format, feel free to ask in the comments section below. And if you don’t feel comfortable sending a full-blown recommendation, you can drop suggestions for games you’d like to see highlighted, too.
Remember, we won’t be reviewing these games, but we’re still eager to shine a light on some gems we’ve missed. We look forward to seeing what games you recommend.

A Shrek fan has pointed out an X-rated joke that went over their head as a child.
And many fans of the popular film, cannot watch it in the same way ever again, the Mirror reports.
The much-loved film, released 20 ago, follows Shrek the ogre as he rescues Princess Fiona from the highest room in the tallest tower of a dragon-guarded castle and (spoilers) the pair fall madly in love.
And although the fairytale had all the ingredients to make Shrek a blockbuster family favourite, it appears the creative team at DreamWorks also managed to sneak in a few jokes that are strictly for the older audience.
TikTok user @Kathy_Martinez05 has posted a series of videos highlighting ‘childhood films filled with adult jokes’ and one featuring a Lord Farquaad scene in Shrek has racked up more than 8.4 million views as people couldn’t believe it had bypassed them without notice.
It shows the film’s bad guy tucked up in bed with a cocktail as he says: “Mirror, mirror, show her to me. Show me the princess.”
The mirror begrudgingly shows an image of Princess Fiona gazing dreamily out of her castle window, at which point a small bump appears to rise under Lord Farquaad’s zebra-patterned bedding.
He then takes a quick glance under the sheets with a somewhat uncomfortable expression.
The clip was uploaded with the caption: ‘Did anyone else catch that?’
Thousands of viewers were left stunned by the ‘traumatising’ revelation, as one person responded to say: “Why? Why did they do that? Who agreed to animate that? Hello??”
A second said: “My last 1% of innocence I had just left my soul.”
A third wrote: “I will never forgiver you for this” and a fourth commented: “The fact that they actually put time to animate that.”
Another added: “I DIDN’T REALISE IT RAISES OH MY GOD NOOOO,” and someone else admitted: “When I was younger I thought he spilt his drink…”
It is almost impossible to imagine Ruben Dias wearing anything other than a Manchester City shirt now after a standout debut campaign in England.
And yet, it could have all been so different if rivals Manchester United had got their way.
United scouts were spotted watching Dias along with Florentino Luis 18 months ago during Benfica’s 4-0 win over Braga. They were reportedly dazzled by his display and subsequently tabled an offer for the former.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had made no secret about his desire to bring in a world-class centre-back, but their interest cooled when Benfica demanded Dias’ £80m release clause be met in full.
That was certainly no surprise given only a few days later, United paid a world-record £80m fee to complete the signing of Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
They could only afford one and at the time, it seemed a shrewd move: an England international with the best years of his career ahead of him and with a wealth of Premier League experience. City wanted him too, as previously revealed by Guardiola, but apparently could not afford him.
But seeing how the Portuguese defender has been a revelation for Pep Guardiola’s side since arriving in a £65million transfer from Benfica must produce a tinge of regret. The 23-year-old settled in quickly to his new surroundings and has formed an impenetrable partnership with a revitalised John Stones in City’s back four.
Along with team-mate Ilkay Gundogan, he has been tipped as a frontrunner for PFA Player of the Year. Should he win, he would follow in the footsteps of Virgil van Dijk, who scooped the 2018-19 award, before helping Liverpool to their first league title in 30 years the next season.
It is certainly no exaggeration to suggest that Dias has, in essence, transformed City’s backline in the same manner as the Dutchman.
Guardiola’s men suffered an humbling 5-2 home defeat to Leicester at the start of the season, which is believed to have been the turning point in convincing the Catalan to sanction the deal to sign Dias — and it’s fair to say it has paid dividends.
Since his debut on October 3, Dias has made 29 appearances in the Premier League. Across those games, the champions-elect have kept 14 clean sheets and conceded only 15 goals.
His consistently solid performances have attracted praise from all quarters. But with City’s quest for a maiden Champions League triumph still unfinished, there were still some questions to answer over performances in big games.
Naturally, Dias passed his first examination with flying colours.
First, he marked Harry Kane out of the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday. Then, four days later, he snuffed out the threat of Kylian Mbappe in their 2-1 win over PSG in the Champions League semi-final first leg.
For the first time in Guardiola’s reign, they had the elite central defender they had been missing. Aymeric Laporte certainly fit this description on ability alone, but the French star has been plagued by injury problems since joining three years ago.
Head across to Old Trafford a year-and-a-half later, however, and doubts remain about whether United made the right decision in plumping for Maguire.
For the majority of his time in Manchester, the 28-year-old has fared well at the centre of the Red Devils’ backline. He was appointed captain by Solskjaer shortly after his arrival and tends to lead by example from the back.
Unfortunately, with such a price tag and responsibility comes criticism. And that became apparent when in the 3-3 draw with Everton recently, the blame was put firmly at Maguire’s feet after he made a calamitous error.
Some fierce, and perhaps unfair, comments followed, with Danny Murphy insisting Maguire would “never be Virgil van Dijk”. For all of Maguire’s qualities, he could well be correct.
If Dias manages to maintain this level of performance and even play an integral role in City’s potential Champions League triumph, he will join the Liverpool man in that exclusive winners’ circle.
Outside of it, the pain will be felt by the Man United board and fans after they had the opportunity to snap up their own version of Van Dijk — and missed it.

The hit movie was released in 2001, becoming a huge success with children and adults alike all over the world. With it predominantly targeting a younger audience, this joke would have gone over the heads of most viewers – until now.
Sharing the clip on TikTok, @kathy_martinez05 revealed the moment as part of her ongoing ‘childhood films filled with adult jokes’ series.
The scene shows Lord Farquaad lying in bed with a cocktail as he says: “Mirror, mirror, show her to me. Show me the princess.”
The mirror then reluctantly displays an image of Princess Fiona as she looks out of her castle window.
At this point, a small bump starts to rise under Lord Farquaad’s bedding as he stares at the picture of the princess.
The character then has a quick look under the sheets, followed by what appears to be an uncomfortable expression on his face.
The video has caused a stir with fans of the movie, with 8.6 million views and 1.6m likes in the two weeks since its upload.
The TikTok’s caption asks viewers: “Did anyone else catch that?”
It appears that many did, as TikTokers have been sharing their shock at the scene ever since.
Some users have been sharing their misconceptions of the scene from when they first saw the movie.
One said: “When I was younger I thought he spilt his drink.”
A second added: “I just thought he realised he didn’t have his shirt and pulled up the blanket.”
One user pointed out that this was not the only X-rated moment creators discretely included in the movie.
They said: “When Donkey is with the dragon and he says, ‘No that’s my personal tail!’ Omg I never realised.”
Real Madrid held off a siege from Liverpool to knock the English club out of the Champions League and advance to the semi-finals.
Not shaken up by an alleged bus attack akin to Manchester City at this point of the competition in 2017-2018, the 13-time winners kept a solid clean sheet even with a threadbare back line.
Young midfielder Fede Valverde was thought to be a weak link and was targeted by Sadio Mane early in the second installment of this quarter final tie, while Zinedine Zidane was also unable to call on the expertise of veterans Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane.
⚪️ Real Madrid have now won 16 of their 17 Champions League knockout round ties when winning the first leg by two goals or more…🤔 How good is this @realmadrid side? #UCL

With Nacho and Eder Militao, however, plus Marcelo-replacement left back Ferland Mendy, the Spaniards were in safe hands.
Finally starting to realize his potential since a move from Porto via Sao Paulo, as a potential heir to the likes of Thiago Silva in the national team fold, Brazilian Militao was particularly effective in coming up with a series of important blocks.
As suggested, the Reds had plenty of chances to overturn the scoreline but were wasteful with only five of a total 15 attempts on target.
Mohamed Salah was particularly excruciating to watch, and set the tone for the evening when missing a sitter within two minutes.
Approaching half time, the Egyptian and Gini Winaljdum both failed to trouble Thibaut Courtois in the box, and there were further opportunities squandered when the hosts came back out after the interval.
Klopp’s decision to leave out reigning UCL champion Thiago in another big game was again questioned, and the playmaker’s introduction saw greater creativity moving forward.
But as service to Salah was once more squandered by the possible-Madrid bound forward, a fading club hero was blasted by fans online.
“Sell him ASAP,” demanded one.
“Has Salah signed for Real already?,” asked another.
“His audition for Madrid isn’t going well” it was also pointed out, while elsewhere someone commented: “He has to score these.”
“Right lads, are ye ready to block my shot? Ok, here it comes.” – M Salah, 14 April 2021

Topping off what was dubbed a “monstrous defensive performance”, Madrid held on to reach their eighth out of 10 possible semifinals on the continent, and they are now just 180 minutes away from a fourth out of five possible finals on supposed fraud Zidane’s watch.
As for Liverpool, they were left to reflect on what could have been, as they succumbed to a second successive elimination by a team from the Spanish capital.
