Meghan Markle ‘wants to be a Kardashian’ after royal Megxit, says model Leilani Dowding

Leilani has previously dismissed Meghan’s claims that before marrying into The Firm, she hadn’t researched Harry’s famous family.

During a bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan claimed that just moments before meeting the Queen, she was taught royal protocol and how to curtsy by Sarah, Duchess of York.

Speaking to Oprah, Meghan said: “Thank God I didn’t know a lot about the family, thank God I hadn’t researched – I would’ve been so in my head about it.”

Discussing royal protocol after being asked if she knew how to curtsy, Meghan added: “I thought genuinely that’s what happens outside, I thought that was part of the fanfare, but I didn’t think that’s what happened inside.

“And I said ‘but it’s your grandmother’, and he goes ‘it’s the Queen’.”

However, the model who now lives in Staffordshire with her fiancé, musician Billy Duffy, of The Cult has dismissed Meghan’s claim.

She said: “Absolutely not [true] in this day and age, everyone Googles everyone.”

Nintendo Switch OLED Model: Major design flaw is bad news for shoot ’em up fans

After months of speculation, Nintendo announced the new and improved Switch OLED Model earlier this week.

The new Nintendo Switch OLED Model will launch alongside Metroid Dread on October 8.

The headline new feature is the OLED display, which features more vibrant colours, as well as a higher contrast compared to the current Switch and Switch Lite.

While the console is similar in size to the current model, fans will benefit from a larger 7-inch display.

Unfortunately, however, it’s not all good news, especially if you’re a fan of shoot ’em ups.

The Nintendo Switch has a vast library of new and classic arcade shooters, including recently released CAVE shmup Mushihimesama.

Thanks to a device known as the Flip Grip, fans can play supported shooters in vertical-mode, just like the arcades.

Sadly, according to Flip Grip creator Mike Choi, the device doesn’t appear to be compatible with the Switch OLED Model.

“PSA: I’ve seen a lot of people asking if the new OLED Switch is Flip Grip compatible,” Choi tweeted.

“Due to the lack of the back cents the Flip Grip registers against, the OLED model is NOT compatible, at least from my initial observation.”

On the plus side, the Switch OLED Model features other improvements, such as a wider adjustable stand for tabletop mode and a LAN port for improved online performance.

With 64BG of internal storage, the Nintendo Switch OLED Model can hold more games – although you’ll probably still need an SD card if you download lots of games.

Finally, Nintendo has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch OLED Model will feature improved audio thanks to the beefier speakers.

Elsewhere, the stylish new console will launch with a brand new colour scheme, as well as the classic Neon Red and Neon Blue set-up.

Fans will be able to purchase a white model, complete with white Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit and a white dock.

Judging by the recent launches of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, it’s worth getting in early if you want to secure a console at launch.

Unlike the Switch Lite, the OLED Model will support both handheld and docked gameplay, meaning it can be played at home on the TV, and on the go.

Nintendo Switch PRO is official: OLED model release date revealed and pre-order NEWS

The new and improved Nintendo Switch Pro has been officially announced by Nintendo.

The surprise announcement comes after months of rumours and speculation about powerful new Switch hardware.

The Nintendo Switch OLED Model has been given an October 8 release date, which means it will launch alongside Metroid Dread.

As the name suggests, the headline new feature is the OLED display, which will offer a more vibrant experience.

While the console itself will be similar in size to the existing model, the screen will measure in at 7-inches.

According to Nintendo, it will feature more vibrant colours and a higher contrast compared to the current Switch and Switch Lite.

Other improvements include a wider adjustable stand for tabletop mode, as well as a LAN port for improved online performance.

At the time of writing, pre-orders are yet to go live, and Nintendo hasn’t announced the price of the console.

Express Online has contacted the company for confirmation about the price and pre-order dates.

Judging by the recent launches of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, it’s worth getting in early if you want to secure a console at launch.

Unlike the Switch Lite, the OLED Model will support both handheld and docked gameplay, meaning it can be played at home on the TV, and on the go.

“Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will let users experience enhancements in all three play modes,” Nintendo explains.

“TV mode: Place the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) console into the dock to play Nintendo Switch games on the TV. By using the built-in wired LAN port, users can enjoy another way to connect online in TV mode.

“Tabletop mode: Flip the stand on the back of the console and use the console’s screen to play multiplayer games using the two included Joy-Con controllers right out of the box. The wide adjustable stand makes for a solid and sturdy foundation. It also allows players to freely tilt the console with more range on the viewing angle, so it’s easier to see the screen.

“Handheld mode: Users can bring the console wherever they go in handheld mode and play local* or online** multiplayer with friends. The 7-inch OLED screen provides vivid colour and high contrast.”

Finally, Nintendo Officially Unveils The Switch OLED Model, The ‘Switch Pro’ We’ve Been Expecting

After years of rumours and speculation, Nintendo has finally lifted the lid on its revised and upgraded Switch system. Introducing the Nintendo Switch OLED Model, launching on October 8 (the same day as Metroid Dread).

The new system will feature a larger 7-inch OLED screen (the standard console has a 6.2-inch LCD screen), a new wider kick stand, enhanced audio through new in-built speakers, a LAN port in the dock, and 64GB of internal storage (double the 32GB of the standard model). It also comes in a fetching new colour variant, as you can see above.

Here are the full details from Nintendo’s official PR:

Nintendo Switch (OLED model) has a similar overall size to the Nintendo Switch system, but with a larger, vibrant 7-inch OLED screen with vivid colors and crisp contrast. Nintendo Switch (OLED model) also features a wide adjustable stand for tabletop mode, a new dock with a wired LAN port, 64GB of internal storage, and enhanced audio for handheld and tabletop play. Just like Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch (OLED model) allows players to play on the TV and share the detachable Joy-Con controllers for right-out-of-the-box multiplayer fun. And just like both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite, with Nintendo Switch (OLED model), the system can be taken on the go to enjoy its play-anywhere versatility. A carrying case and screen protector set for Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will also be available.

“The new Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is a great option for players who want to experience the new vibrant screen when playing in handheld and tabletop mode,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “With the addition of this new model to the Nintendo Switch family of systems, people have an additional choice of a system that best fits the gaming experience they desire – whether it’s Nintendo Switch (OLED model), Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite.”

Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will let players experience enhancements in all three play modes:

TV mode: Set the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) system into the dock to play Nintendo Switch games on the TV. By using the built-in wired LAN port, players can enjoy another way to connect online in TV mode.

Tabletop mode: Flip the stand on the back of the system and use the system’s screen to play multiplayer games using two Joy-Con controllers right out of the box. A wide adjustable stand makes for a solid and sturdy foundation. It allows players to freely tilt the system and adjust the viewing angle, so it makes it easier to see the screen.

Handheld mode: Players can bring the system wherever they go in handheld mode and play local or online multiplayer with friends. The system’s 7-inch OLED screen provides vivid color and crisp contrast.

When the system launches, it will come in two color options:
– Nintendo Switch (OLED model) white set, which features white Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit and a white dock.
– Nintendo Switch (OLED model) neon red/neon blue set, which features neon red and neon blue Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit and a black dock.

All previously released Joy-Con for Nintendo Switch are compatible with this new model. Additionally, Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is compatible with the full library of Nintendo Switch games.

We first heard whispers of a ‘Switch Pro’ way back in January 2019, with various sources believing such a console was just around the corner. It seems that the main upgrades here are the 7-inch OLED screen, improved speakers and a LAN port in the dock, rather than any extra horsepower.

Perhaps the huge success of the base model, the surprise of the pandemic, and any other number of factors you want to throw into the mix ended up delaying this announcement, but here we are with a brand new console on the way.

“But he really gets on with Frida and she has been very understanding about him juggling fatherhood and his successful TV career.

“He likes that she’s also a parent so fully appreciates the balance, she is also keen on her fitness and loves spending time at home.”

Louise previously expressed her regret at ending her marriage to Jamie so quickly.

She revealed to You! magazine: “I should have paused and thought about other people and had just a bit more time to work out why I felt I couldn’t do it anymore.

“I wish I’d tried. I want to say to anyone thinking of running: Just slow down. Don’t run.

“Because once you run too fast, you can’t make up the ground you’ve lost.”

Elvis co-star and Playboy model Stella Stevens' brutal warning about filming with the King

Elvis Presley stars in trailer for 1962 film Girls! Girls! Girls!

Stella was born in Mississippi and raised in Memphis, just like Elvis. She also had a tough upbringing with no hint of a Hollywood future – marrying childhood sweetheart Herman Stephens in 1954 at just 16. Within three years she was a divorced mother of one (future actor Andrew Stevens) but she put herself through night school and enrolled at Memphis State University where she was quickly spotted in amateur dramatics. She dropped out to head off to Hollywood and was soon under contract to 20th Century Fox and then Paramount from 1959 – who would drag her, almost kicking and screaming, onto screen with Elvis.
Stella’s career was a mass of contradictions. In 1960 she won the Golden Globe for New Star of the Year – Actress, but she was also Playboy’s centrefold Playmate of the month that January.

She later said: “You have to be realistic. Playboy has an enormous circulation, and getting into Playboy increases recognition. People know they’ve seen you somewhere. The recognition factor.”

For a while it seemed she had been proven right, becoming one of the most photographed women of the 1960’s (artistic and X-rated), but her film career and dreams of being a director ultimately suffered.

As early as 1962 she was fighting with the studios and famously challenged Elvis about the films he was making and then later became one of the only stars to ever badmouth The King.

Stella made no secret of her unwillingness to make 1962’s Girls! Girls! Girls!

In 2004 she said: “I was sent the script by Paramount to read. And I thought, ‘Hm, he’s from Memphis, and so am I. That’s a good idea to put us together.’ So I read the script. I wound up throwing it across the room! I thought, ‘What a piece of sh**. I’m not going to be in this.'”

Even when the studio threatened to blacklist her, Stella would not back down.

She added: “I said, ‘I’ll starve. I don’t care. My child will starve because of you, and we will die because of you, because I will not do this junk.’ So they said, ‘please reconsider’, and they promised that my next film would be with Montgomery Clift. And I said, ‘Oh, well, yes. Okay, I’ll do the Elvis picture. It’s only six days’ work, and I’ll just forget about it.'”

Girls! Girls! Girls! was a standard lightweight Elvis vehicle but critics had already started to criticise the formula, which lasted through to 1969.

In a 1967 interview Stella said: “One day I said, ‘Elvis honey, why do you do this crap?’ He pondered and said, ‘Don’t knock success, Stella.’ Which is true. The odds against getting anywhere in the movies are so great that if you realized beforehand, you’d stay home.

“Anyway, never be in an Elvis movie. His fans come for the sole, purpose of seeing Elvis. They don’t look at anyone else on the screen.”

In the 1960s Stella was still speaking relatively carefully in interviews, but later in life she opened fire with both barrels on the film’s director Norman Taurog and Elvis himself.

In 1994 she said: “What I remember is him (Taurog) screaming at me at the top of his lungs in front of the cast and crew… It embarrassed me in front of everybody. I’ve never been talked to or treated like that.”

Stella claimed she was received little support, including from Elvis: “He was drunk in Hawaii and on the set when he sang Return to Sender or at least acting like he was and telling me he was. He was drinking Hawaiian Rum Punches, and they punched him just about out.

“He was also showing me what he called his Bible; his book of colour plates of every pill and capsule ever made and sold by pharmaceutical companies. Drinking and taking pills seemed to be his main interest.”

Elvis’ drug consumption is well-documented, but many around him have also testified that the star tried not to drink excessively because he knew he was prone to rages when he was under the influence of alcohol.

As for Stella, her hopes of filming with Montgormery Clift were sunk whe he was forced to pull out of their film Too Late Blues – ironically because he was battle his own alcoholism – and he was replaced with Bobby Darin.

Stella went on to make the highly regarded comedy, The Nutty Professor with Jerry Lewis in 1963, and the Dean Martin spy spoof The Silencers in 1966.

Unusually, for a Hollywood star she also appeared in two more Playboy spreads, in 1965 and 1968, as well as men’s magazine Adam in 1967, which was promoting her “nude shower scene from The Rage.”

Despite asprirations to do serious work and a talent for comedy, Stella rarely found the kind of film roles she wanted.

In 1970, she starred opposite Jason Robards in Sam Peckinpah’s The Ballad of Cable Hogue, and The New York Times said: “It is Stella Stevens, at last in a role good enough for her, who most wonderfully sustains and enlightens the action.”

She followed that with a highly-regared turn as a “tart with a heart” in the 1972 smash The Poseidon Adventure but her career began to gravitate towards television. Subsequent big screen roles were generally limited to exploitation horror movies, usually with nudity involved like 1972’s Slaughter and 1986’s Monster In The Closet.

In a 2004 interview Stella reflected on the impact Playboy had on her career: “It was a double-edged sword. It did as much harm as it did good.

“To try and have a career as a serious actor after being in that magazine was very difficult. To try and become a director has taken me over 30 years, something that other people with far less talent have done far sooner. They did not, however, start out as sexpots.

“That starting point (as a sexpot) is so far below level. You might think it elevates someone to call them a sexpot, but it does not.  It’s a derogatory term.  It’s hard, after that, to just come up to being a human being.

“When Sesame Street first came on the air, I begged to be able to do the alphabet–anything.  They would not allow me on there. I wasn’t allowed in certain magazines. I was blackballed from anything decent after that.”

Even so, Stella worked solidly in television throughout the 1970, 1980s and 1990s, including a Dukes of Hazzard TV movie and long-running roles in the soap operas Flamingo Road and Santa Barbara.

In 1989 she also achieved her dream of directing a movie with the comedy The Ranch, which starred her son Andrew Stevens.

From 1983, Stella was in a relationship with Grammy-winning rock guitarist Bob Kulick, who died last year. After selling her Beverley Hills home, she now resides in an Alzheimer’s care facility in Los Angeles.

‘They are exclusive’: NBA star Devin Booker ‘holds hands’ with model and ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ stunner Kendall Jenner

Author: RT
This post originally appeared on RT Sport News

Two-time NBA All-Star Devin Booker has reportedly taken his relationship with US it-girl Kendall Jenner a step further over the weekend, sending gossip columns wild after he was pictued holding her hand in New York.

Towering shooting guard Booker has been linked with Jenner since the pair took a road trip from Los Angeles to Arizona together last April, although celebrity outlets in the US widely reported that they had kept their partnership low-key and casual.

The 24-year-old Phoenix Suns superstar has not featured TV favorite Jenner in any of his Instagram photos, preferring to use the more temporary Stories feature on the platform to show them lying on a blanket in a picturesque outdoor setting.

Jenner, who is the half-sister of mega-famous celebrities Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian, is said to be more content with Booker than she had been in her previous two reported relationships with NBA players, dating Blake Griffin and Ben Simmons for less than a year each.

“This is the happiest Kendall has ever been in a relationship,” People quoted a source as saying about the 25-year-old socialite. “She and Devin started out slowly but have dated for about a year now.

“What first seemed like a fun hookup is now a relationship. They are exclusive and Kendall is very happy with Devin.

“Her family thinks he is great. He was even invited to Kim’s 40th birthday celebration in Tahiti.”

Booker could not resist leaving a comment on Jenner’s Instagram, where she is followed by a staggering fanbase of more than 160 million, after she pictured herself in a floral dress in woodland earlier this month, writing: “Very beautiful… course.”

On Valentine’s Day, Jenner pictured herself lying on what appeared to be a kitchen worktop underneath Booker, adding a white heart symbol as the pair laughed together.

The son of former professional basketball player Melvin, 6ft 5in Booker has been named on the All-Star team in each of the past two seasons.

He was supported by NBA legend LeBron James earlier this year, who told his millions of social media followers: “Devin Booker is the most disrespected player in our league – simple as that.”

Jenner was heavily criticized in November after reportedly throwing a huge maskless party at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, attended by a plethora of celebrities including pop star Justin Bieber and actor Will Smith’s son, Jaden.

“All we can do is live our lives the best way we know how and be responsible and do the right thing, and we’re doing that exactly,” she told a radio show as a backlash ensued, adding that her family was “very lucky to work in an industry where we get tested once or twice a week.”

APH: COVID-19 vaccine clinics will include ‘neighborhood’ model in May

Author Billy Gates
This post originally appeared on KXAN Austin

COVID-19 vaccine clinics

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The way Austin Public Health administers COVID-19 vaccines will change in the next month, health officials said Friday.

Austin Public Health Director Stephanie Hayden-Howard said the agency will implement a neighborhood model in addition to large sites. The new model includes setting up vaccination clinics at churches and other places, and Hayden-Howard referred to it as a “hybrid” model.

“We’re really going to look at what type of set up and what it might look like,” she said. “We’re going to maintain a couple of our large sites, and then be in those other spaces on Saturdays with expanded hours. That will start in May on a more permanent basis.”

She also said APH is working with Travis County about joining in the neighborhood model as well in hopes of getting the area to the goal of a 67% vaccination rate. “We’ll include more of our partners so people have that awareness,” she said.

APH Chief Epidemiologist Janet Pichette addressed the discovery of a new COVID-19 variant found by Texas A&M researchers and it’s an example of how “viruses don’t like to be comfortable.”

“It’s close to home, so we have concerns it could be spreading in the community,” Pichette said. “We monitor trends in the virus that are circulating in the community, just like we do with the flu.”

She also said the rise in cases in other states is “concerning,” and is monitoring those trends and hopes the area doesn’t “see a repeat of last spring — or fall.”

Dealing with vaccine hesitancy

One of the main hurdles healthcare officials across the country have had since the beginning of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout is reluctance to get the vaccine. APH Assistant Director Cassandra DeLeon said a generic public education campaign simply isn’t enough to address concerns.

“We want to make sure people are aware of the real risks of not getting the vaccine, and we want to give people the facts about it,” she said. “We have to make sure vaccine is readily available so people can immediately get it, and we have to do focused outreach to populations who have traditionally had some hesitancy to not just the COVID vaccine, but to all vaccines.”

Focused conversations and outreach are key to APH’s efforts to answer concerns about the vaccine, DeLeon said. “It’s important people talk with their primary health physicians,” she said.

Hayden-Howard said family members or other trusted sources who have built relationships with people who have received the vaccine can help ease fears, as well.

“Sometimes it doesn’t happen in the first conversation,” she said. “It might take two or three times for them to have that conversation. All of this combined will help us address hesitancy.”

‘Demand is evolving’

DeLeon said demand isn’t dropping, but rather “evolving.”

“We definitely see the different settings are important,” she said. “When we do a small, community-based type of clinic, those fill up. It’s hard to say the demand is dwindling when they are so many people who still need vaccines.”

She said there are zip codes in Austin that are lagging behind in getting vaccines, and they are trying to make the vaccine more accessible to people in those zip codes.

She said she was “very encouraged” by the walk-up clinic APH held at the Delco Activity Center in east Austin. They said 887 people showed up and got their first doses.

“It was very revealing having the feedback from the public why they chose that option,” she said. “We continue to exhaust our weekly allocation of vaccine doses, so it’s tough to say if demand is going down.”

Pichette said people she talked to said the clinic helped bridge a sort of “digital divide,” and allowed people who wanted to get the vaccine could do so without the barriers of needing an internet connection.

“We chatted with a few people, and there are options that can help expedite the process,” Pichette said. She still said people can register on the APH site and make the process move a little quicker.

Dashboard data shows that on April 10, the rolling average of new hospitalizations was at 17, and as of case reporting Thursday, it is up to 22 new hospitalizations a day. There were 15 new admissions reported Thursday, and Friday’s numbers will be entered into the dashboard by 6 p.m.

While officials suggested a move to Stage 2 risk levels could happen by May, with the recent uptick in cases, they couldn’t offer a concrete timetable on that move.

Changes to briefing schedule

There are changes coming to how Austin Public Health runs their briefings as well. They’ve been held weekly since the beginning of the agency’s pandemic response, but now they’ll be held every other week with the next one on May 7.

APH also said it will “work to provide increased opportunities for one-on-one interviews with APH leadership as schedules allow.”

Star investors: Football ace Mesut Ozil joins actress Eva Longoria and model Kate Upton in stake bid for Mexican Liga club Necaxa

A group of investors including former Germany and current Turkish Super Liga star Mesut Ozil, Hollywood star Eva Longoria and top model Kate Upton are reportedly planning a bid to take a 50 percent stake in Liga MX club Necaxa.

An improbable group including the 2013 World Cup winner, Desperate Housewives star Longoria, model Kate Upton and her MLB star husband Justin Verlander are planning the takeover.

The consortium is also said to have links to the same group that recently invested in Championship side Swansea, with one Twitter user remarking that if successful, the developments “would make for an interesting boardroom”.

But others were less enthusiastic, especially those loyal to Ozil’s former club Arsenal.

“Of course, with all the money he stole from Arsenal,” remarked one punter, nodding to the astronomical reported $ 480,000 per week wages Ozil received to sit on the bench as he was kept out of Mikel Arteta’s plans before a move to Fenerbahce in the January transfer window.

The 32-year-old receives a relatively meager $ 3.6 million per year in Turkey, and often found himself at loggerheads in the press with Gunners supporter Piers Morgan towards the end of an eight year stint in North London.

“You don’t have to give us Ozil updates. He’s dead to us,” said one follower of an Arsenal page.

“He’s used to [only] giving 50 per cent,” came a far less toxic wisecrack.

But not everyone appreciated the pile-on.

“Why are you sharing this? For fans [to] criticize him again??,” one asked.

“Just f***ing leave Mesut Ozil alone. He left Arsenal and we’re still bad. It’s his f***ing money, he does what he wants with [it].”

“Don’t care what some of you idiots say,” remarked a similar-minded protector of the midfielder’s legacy. “Ozil is a legend here and will always remain relevant [at] Arsenal”
