Nintendo Confirms Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Will Include Online Support

Apart from Metroid Dread, one of the other standout announcements of Nintendo’s E3 Direct was the return of the Advance Wars games from the GBA generation.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is being made by the Shantae developer WayForward and has had a facelift (as you probably already noticed), but apart from this, we don’t know much else about this updated two-in-one release.

At the end of the Nintendo Treehouse Advance Wars segment, Nintendo of America’s representatives confirmed the Re-Boot would include “online gameplay” – with more details about it coming soon. It was also briefly mentioned how there would be support for “up to four players”.

Over on Nintendo’s official game page, it’s mentioned how up to four players will be able to battle each other across dozens of maps, and that online play will require users to have a Nintendo Switch Online membership. Adding to this, the eShop listing says the game is 1-2 players online, and 2-4 players via local wireless.

Obviously, online play wasn’t part of the original GBA titles, so it’s great to see this modern take including these newer features.

Are you looking forward to the return of Advance Wars this December? Leave a comment down below.

How YOU can access ALL your NHS data and GP record online

Trying to chase up your medical records can be a pain, but the NHS has now launched a new way to access all of your GP records and NHS data online. This may become increasingly important if Brits need to show proof of vaccination in the future.

The NHS App online allows patients in England to access medical services on your desktop, laptop or computer, through your web browser.

You do not need to install anything to get started as you can access this site online – but, you can download the service as an app to your smartphone or tablet.

You can download the NHS app on Apple devices from the App Store or for Android devices from GooglePlay.

Proving that you have been vaccinated may be necessary if you wish to travel abroad in the future.

There have even been suggestions that Covid passports may become mandatory to gain entry to venues such as festivals and pubs.

NHS Digital has added proof of vaccination to the app so you can prove you’ve had your jab, while you’re out and about.

The app also allows Brits to access a range of NHS services online or through their smartphone or tablet.

So, what services and records can I access through the NHS app?

You can use the app to:

  • Share your COVID-19 status
  • Order repeat prescriptions
  • Book and manage appointments
  • Get health information and advice
  • View your health record securely
  • View your NHS number

Who can use the app?

To use this service you must be registered with a GP surgery in England.

Once you have signed up you can view a summary of your medical records, make appointments and request repeat prescriptions.

You can also use the app to download a PDF copy of your Covid status or request for this to be emailed to you via the app.

To use the app to confirm your Covid status you will need to make sure that you download the correct app.

The NHS app which provides proof of vaccine status is different from the NHS COVID-19 app, you might have the NHS COVID-19 app already downloaded as it is used for contact tracing and signing into venues.

You must be aged 13 and over to use the NHS app – but as this age group is not currently eligible for the vaccine they will not need to show their vaccine status yet.

GTA 5 Online shutdown: PS3, Xbox 360 versions closing down in December

If you’re still playing GTA 5 Online on a PS3 or Xbox 360 then you’ll have to switch to another platform soon. Rockstar Games has today (Wednesday June 16) confirmed that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA 5 Online will be shutdown on December 16 2021. The PS3 and the Xbox 360 were the first consoles to ever get GTA 5, with the smash hit game launching on these seventh generation consoles back in September 2013.

Announcing the news Rockstar Games said: “As we continue to move forward with updates and support for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Grand Theft Auto Online — as well as prepare for this Fall’s launches of the new expanded and enhanced versions of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online, including website stat tracking via the Rockstar Games Social Club, will officially be shutting down on December 16, 2021.

“In addition, Shark Cash Cards for GTA Online will no longer be sold for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions after September 15, 2021.

“Please note, these changes are strictly for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of GTA Online, and will have no impact on access to, or progress within, the Grand Theft Auto V Story Mode.”

Before the December shutdown date some features, such as website stat tracking on the Rockstar Games Social Club, will also stop working for a number of PS3 and Xbox 360 titles on September 16. This includes website stat tracking, online multiplayer, and leaderboards for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Max Payne 3, and website stat tracking for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of LA Noire.

Rockstar Games added: “All these changes will have no impact on access or progress in Story Mode for any of these titles on either platform. We’d like to thank the GTA Online community for their continued support, and look forward to seeing players continue their journey in Los Santos with us on new platforms.”

GTA 5 was first released on September 17 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360, with GTA Online launching a few weeks later in October. Since then GTA 5 has launched on the PS4 and Xbox One, PCs and will soon be heading to PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.

When all is said and done GTA 5 and GTA Online will have launched on three different console generations – which is unheard of.

But it’s easy to see what Rockstar Games are still supporting GTA 5 almost eight years after it first released.

GTA 5 is the most successful entertainment product of all time, and is still selling strongly.

Last year GTA 5 hit the top of the UK games charts once again, which underlines the enduring popularity of the smash hit Rockstar Games title.

Among Us Online update patch notes, release time: 15-player lobbies, new colours and MORE

Among Us has made a couple of high-profile appearances at this year’s E3 event.

The game was among the titles spotlighted during the Summer Game Fest opening ceremony, where it was revealed that a new game mode would be launching soon.

That’s on top of new character roles, including a Sheriff character, as well as a Scientist character.

Among Us made another appearance just a few days later, joining the countless games previewed during the Microsoft and Bethesda E3 event.

It was during the Microsoft event when Among Us developer InnerSloth announced plans to add 15-person lobbies to the game.

Not only that, but the 15-person lobbies update was given a June 15 release date. InnerSloth revealed additional patch notes during a subsequent tweet.

According to the tweet, fans will be able to select from new colours, while mobile controller support will also be added.

That’s on top of a new kill screen menu, which is launching as part of the June 15 update.

“SURPRISE! One of our updates is coming SUPER soon, featuring: 15 players, the new colours & kill screen menu, mobile controller support, horn honking on the Airship,” reads an InnerSloth tweet.

New character colours include grey, tan, coral, maroon and banana. Fans can also expect a slight graphical update.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Among Us would be released on Xbox and PlayStation consoles later this year.

Likewise, InnerSloth hasn’t announced a release time for the update, although previous downloads have launched in the afternoon. Express Online will update this article when new details are revealed.

Following the June 15 update, InnerSloth will continue working on a new map, which is currently being kept a secret.

Achievements will also be added to the Xbox version, while account linking will allow users to access all of their content across devices.

You can see the Among Us Roadmap features below…

New features:

• A new map – Map 5! Very secret. What’s it gonna be on? Don’t ask me! I’m sworn to secrecy, I’m bad at secrets, and I would like to keep my job.

• Achievements. For anyone who wants to prove they are pros at the game. AKA not me, I’m a very anxious Impostor.

• Account linking between platforms. All your save data and cosmetics, available on your platform of choice.

• New roles and ways to play. VERY SECRET. OR MAYBE I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT’S UP.

• Hide n’ Seek mode. Come out come out wherever you areee.

• Visor cosmetics. Even more ways to fix a ship in style! Yes it may block your vision but at least you’ll be fashionable.

• Consoles (Xbox and PlayStation). I get it, you want to know when. I can’t tell you. I’M SORRY. When I can I will!!

As 8 billion passwords leak online here are three things you must do right now

Last week it was revealed that a staggering amount of passwords have been exposed in a massive data leak. A text file, that was uploaded to the web, contained a total of 8.3 billion passwords with experts warning that this could be one of the biggest breaches in modern history. The attack was discovered by the team at CyberNews who say that due to the scale of the leak this issue is almost certain to affect a very large number of people. The data dump has been dubbed ‘RockYou2021’ by the hackers which appears to be in reference to the infamous RockYou data breach that occurred in 2009 where more than 32 million user passwords were leaked.

Speaking about the latest threat, CyberNews said: “By combining 8.4 billion unique password variations with other breach compilations that include usernames and email addresses, threat actors can use the RockYou2021 collection to mount password dictionary and password spraying attacks against untold numbers of online accounts.”

It’s clearly serious and, if you are worried about this threat, here are three things you must do today.

It’s a really good idea to see if your password has been leaked in any recent attacks. CyberNews and other sites, such as have i been pwned, offer a simple way of checking your details to see if they may be in the hands of hackers.

Google’s Chrome browser and Apple’s Safari can also help with both of these browsers showing if you have weak passwords.

On Safari, head to Preferences > Passwords. Here you will see a list of your accounts and passwords with a warning sign placed besides any that have been used multiple times.

If you use Chrome, head to Preferences > Passwords and tap the Check Passwords button. You’ll then see any accounts with weak security.

If possible, always use two-factor authentication to double up on security for your account. Some applications offer this and software is available to ensure that all applications can use it.

Two-factor authentication basically means you’ll get a text with a code before being allowed to log in to accounts.

If you’re always forgetting your codes then there is a range of software that can help.

A number of popular password managers, including the excellent 1Password, leverage Have I Been Pwned’s unmatched database to alert users when one of their passwords or login credentials has been made available to hackers.

Speaking about the latest breach, Ray Walsh, Digital Privacy Expert at ProPrivacy, said: “Hackers compiled this massive cache of passwords from several previous data branches, and it is extremely concerning because of its sheer magnitude.

“With so many passwords sitting in the database in plain text consumers need to act quickly to ensure that their accounts are safe, because this database creates the potential for a sudden wave of cyberattacks.

“Setting up new passwords for multiple accounts doesn’t need to be a headache if you use a reliable password manager that does the hard work for you.

“Anybody concerned that their password may be affected by this breach should ensure that they are using 2FA wherever possible to ensure that a password alone will not be enough to breach their account.

“As always, monitor your accounts closely and if you notice any unusual activity, be sure to act quickly to update your password and ensure that hackers are removed from those services.”

70-year-old getting PhD threatened with eviction after enrolling in online class

THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) — Betty Harper met an ABC13 crew at her front door on Wednesday in a walker, still recovering from back surgery she had last fall accompanied by a stroke she said she suffered earlier in the year.

The 70-year-old is refusing to let any of that slow her down, saying she’s just one class away from earning her PhD.

“You can do anything you put your mind to doing,” said Harper. “I always wanted my doctorate, and I had to wait until my children graduated from college and my grandchildren so I could help them.”

Finally, it was her turn. The retired special education teacher said she wanted to keep her mind active.

Five years ago, she enrolled in an online program through Northcentral University working towards her goal slowly, but diligently.

“I am on the Dean’s List,” said Harper with a sense of pride.

Now, months before she is set to graduate, instead of celebrating a major milestone, she’s worried about her housing. She told Eyewitness News she received a call from an employee at her apartment complex in The Woodlands area called Fawn Ridge Apartments.

“[They] called me and stated to me I had 30 days to move,” said Harper.

The grandmother said a worker told her because she was a full-time student, she no longer qualified for her HUD housing assistance.

“And I said to her, ‘I am only taking one class. How can that be full time? I am only a part-time student,'” recalled Harper.

ABC13 tried to speak with employees at Fawn Ridge Apartments to clear up what appears to be a misunderstanding, but they refused to comment.

We also contacted the property management company, Envolve LLC, which is based in Alabama, but have not heard back.

A legal expert said HUD housing does not allow for an entire unit to be occupied by full-time students. The restriction was put in place to avoid dormitory housing and doesn’t appear to apply to this great-grandmother.

“If I was evicted at this point, I have no funds to move,” said Harper.

ABC13 will continue seeking answers for the future Dr. Betty Harper.

Billions of passwords just leaked online! Check here to see if you are affected

The security team says it is currently updating this database with all of the new passwords revealed in the document so it might be worth checking back again to see if your account has been added.

Speaking about the latest threat, CyberNews said: “By combining 8.4 billion unique password variations with other breach compilations that include usernames and email addresses, threat actors can use the RockYou2021 collection to mount password dictionary and password spraying attacks against untold numbers of online accounts.

“Since most people reuse their passwords across multiple apps and websites, the number of accounts affected by credential stuffing and password spraying attacks in the wake of this leak can potentially reach millions, if not billions.”

If you suspect that one or more of your passwords may have been included in the RockYou2021 collection it’s recommended that you change your account details straight away and watch out for incoming spam emails.

It’s also a good idea to enable two-factor authentication which means hackers can’t log in to accounts without also having access to your smartphone.

Thousands stuck in online Covid vaccine queue with many wrongly told they're not eligible

Thousands have rushed to the NHS website to book their Covid-19 vaccination after the Government opened up appointments for all 25-29 year-olds in England this morning. So many people have flooded the website, new users are being added to a virtual queue system – faced with a wait while some 11,000 people ahead of them book an appointment.

A number of people have reported seeing a message informing them “you are now in a queue, lots of people are trying to book an appointment”, but the queue system never updates to reveal their position or the remaining time they’ll have to wait. Some people have shared screenshots of the NHS booking site crashing during the wait, with an error message apologising for “technical difficulties” although thankfully, these issues don’t appear too widespread.

But while that’s probably to be expected with such a large age group becoming eligible for vaccination overnight – after all, Health Secretary Matt Hancock only confirmed that appointments would be available to over-25s for the first time at the despatch box in the House of Commons yesterday – there does seem to be a glitch somewhere in the NHS system.

According to some people who managed to get to the front of the queue, their appointment is being rejected. The NHS site informs them that they’re “not eligible” for the jab. A number of younger people have taken to social media to highlight the issues with the booking system this morning.

Some users, sharing their experience on Twitter, have claimed they were waiting for more than thirty minutes to get through to the booking form to find their local vaccination centre – only to be told they are not eligible.

You cannot delete NHS Covid-19 app even when restrictions end

With vaccinations now open to the 25-29 age bracket, some three million more people are eligible for a vaccine. Under-40s in the UK are being given Moderna or Pfizer vaccinations, due to concerns about blood clots with the Astra-Zeneca jab developed with teams at the University of Oxford.

Speaking in the House of Commons yesterday, Matt Hancock confirmed: “From this week we will start offering vaccinations to people under 30, bringing us ever closer to the goal of offering a vaccine to all adults in the UK by the end of next month. From tomorrow morning, we will open up vaccination to people aged 25 to 29.”

Across the UK, more than 40,460,576 adults have received their first jab, while 27,921,294 second vaccines have been administered. Two jabs are required for the highest level of protection against the virus, while trials are ongoing to determine whether a third “booster” shot could help quash future waves of Covid-19 in the autumn and winter

Logan Paul v Floyd Mayweather free live stream warning: Watching online could cost YOU

Fight fans only have a short time to wait until the main event starts, including the exhibition fight everyone has been waiting for. Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather, the high-profile boxing bout, is taking place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, with those looking to watch the big fight having to pay a PPV fee – with Sky Box Office having the UK rights. It costs £16.95 to watch Paul Mayweather on Sky Box Office, with the pair not expected to step into the ring till 4am UK time on Monday June 7.

If you’re looking to tune into Paul vs Mayweather, and have been tempted to watch the match via an illegal free live stream, then just be warned that it could end up costing you severely.

For Paul’s last fight, a rematch between fellow YouTuber KSI, measures were put in place to try to clamp down on the rampant piracy that affected the pair’s first bout.

Given how high profile the Paul Mayweather fight is, rights holders may look to go even further to clampdown on illegal streams.

And if they do want to go down this road, they don’t have to look too far.

Recently Paul’s brother Jake, another YouTuber, also took part in a boxing match versus Ben Askren.

And those reportedly involved in the illegal live streaming of this fight are now facing a very heavy cost.

READ MORE: Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul prize money: How much will pair earn?

As reported by TorrentFreak, Triller – who distributed the Paul Askren fight – have launched legal action against companies, business entities and individuals who allegedly posted the fight online without permission.

Triller’s first attempts at legal action, which was a $ 100million lawsuit that targeted entities and individuals that allegedly streamed the fight illegally, didn’t go to plan with a judge unhappy that 13 separate defendants had all been bundled into the same action.

All defendants bar FilmDaily.com were culled from the suit, but that didn’t deter Triller.

The company went on to file a $ 50million lawsuit against the popular H3 Podcast. The suit claims the pod’s YouTube channel “unlawfully uploaded, distributed, and publicly displayed” the fight.

And Triller didn’t stop there, with lawsuits recently filed against Online2LiveStream.us, My-Sports.club and YouTubers ‘ItsLilBrandon’ and Elipt Gaming.

The latter is a small YouTube channel which has just 2,250 subscribers.

While Triller’s suit goes on to say that the video in question, from Elipt Gaming, was viewed “at least 300 times”.

The complaint says: “Defendants’ calculated and reprehensible infringement, theft, and other unlawful acts — committed in knowing violation of the law — has resulted in damages suffered by Plaintiff by stealing and diverting at least 300 unique viewers of the illegal and unauthorized viewings of the Broadcast from Plaintiff.”

This latest legal action is a clear example of rights holders not just going after big name piracy hubs, but also willing to target streams that reach a much smaller amount of people.

While Triller aren’t broadcasting the Mayweather Paul fight, it’s a timely warning to anyone thinking of trying to watch or share an illegal live stream of the serious risks they take doing so.
