Square Enix could move onto surprise Final Fantasy project after FF7 Remake Part 2

Square Enix could move onto surprise Final Fantasy project after FF7 Remake Part 2

While Motomu Toriyama, who worked on both Final Fantasy X and X-2, said: “The probability is not zero.

“But we are not in a phase where we can talk about it, unless we have finished producing FF7 Remake.”

If you’re a big fan of Tidus and Yuna’s iconic PS2 adventures, and can’t wait to see it continue, then don’t hold your breath for a 10-3 game anytime soon.

It’s unclear how many more games will be part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project, and when all of these games will be released by.

So it could be quite some time till Nomura and co get to work on a potential X-3 game.

This isn’t the first time that Square Enix has teased revisiting a beloved game in the Final Fantasy series besides Final Fantasy 7.

Risk System Is A Daring Shmup Blasting Onto Switch Soon

Risk System Is A Daring Shmup Blasting Onto Switch Soon

The shoot ’em up genre is alive and well, with a mix of retro remasters / re-releases, long overdue sequels and Indie efforts continuing to grace the Switch eShop. Another on the way soon is Risk System, developed by Newt Industries and ported / published for Switch by Hidden Trap, which lands on 15th July priced at $ 9.99/£8,99/€9.99.

It’s been out on platforms like PC and Xbox previously, and it’s a title with a decent amount of lore to delve into – advanced technologies, energy parasites, a quest to avoid apocalypse. Of course, if you like, you can just shoot everything.

The design twist in this one, and the source of the name, is that when you go close to enemies and their fire you absorb energy and boost your power. As you can see in the trailer above (and the game blurb below) this sets up frantic and challenging gameplay.

  • Increase your B-Meter and firepower by flying as close to enemy fire as possible and absorbing their energy. The more times you do it, the easier it will be to destroy the parasites.
  • Perform special Risk Shots to attack and turn the energy into power for your shield. Sometimes, the best defense is a risky offense!
  • Use barrel rolls to quickly cover vertical space and modify your attack.
  • Unleash the Barrier Breaker once the B-Meter is full to inflict huge damage on everything in sight!
  • Set your destiny according to your mission performance and the results you get. Remember that everybody counts on you to save thousands of lives.
  • Focus on the final goal or play hard to get the higher score in each level. Use Risk Shots to destroy multiple enemies at once, string combos and increase your score multiplier.
  • Delight yourself with the gorgeous, pixelated art style of the game, which tributes to some famous side-scrolling shoot-’em-up games from the 80s and 90s.

We think this looks rather decent; are you tempted to pick this up on Switch next week?

Cilla Black was pulled onto stage by John Lennon to sing with The Beatles

Cilla Black was pulled onto stage by John Lennon to sing with The Beatles

Cilla Black once revealed she always wanted to grace the stage with her talents. While she wasn’t born into much money or notoriety, she was born in Liverpool at the same time as The Beatles. Throughout their teenage years the two acts crossed paths, but it wasn’t until John Lennon and co hit the stage when Cilla found her way into stardom.

In her youth, Cilla worked at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool as a cloakroom girl.

This was the famous venue that The Beatles played at regularly during the early 1960s before finding worldwide fame.

During this time Cilla crossed paths with the band – and many others – all the time, but they did not yet know the talent she possessed.

Between sets, the young star would pester bands to let her up on stage with them to sing alongside their instruments.

The support from Cilla’s friends was so strong that they would start chanting her name through the performances of other bands.

Recalling the first time she had performed on stage in her autobiography, Cilla said: “Egged on by my friend Pauline, the audience were yelling my name and it was John Lennon who got fed up with it first.

“Pretending he hadn’t heard my name right, he said wearily: ‘OK, Cyril, what song d’you wanna do?’”

Cilla wrote that she “didn’t need asking twice”.

What do you think? Would Cilla Black have become famous without John Lennon? Join the debate in the comments section here

Cilla said: “It was at the Majestic in Birkenhead, with The Beatles backing me.”

The young starlet decided to perform Summertime once again, hoping it would be enough to impress Brian.

It was, and the Beatles’ manager went on to sign her onto his label, beginning the rest of her career.

The star had always wanted to be a singer from a young age.

Cilla wrote in her autobiography: “It took me all of 20 seconds to discover the echo [in the bathroom].

“With a toothbrush for a mic, I’d sing at the top of my voice. Why Do Fools Fall In Love was a favourite. By this time, I was convinced I had a talent that one day would be recognised.

“And I was in a helluva hurry for it. I wanted to make a fortune, have the big car, the grand house, the fabulous jewellery. I wanted everyone to adore me.”

BA crew put back onto furlough amid travel restriction uncertainty – ‘enough is enough’

BA crew put back onto furlough amid travel restriction uncertainty - ‘enough is enough’

The carrier has been forced to furlough thousands of employees again as the wait for a return of international travel continues. BA has demanded the Government to ease restrictions and to move the US to the green list “at the next available opportunity”.

BA had begun to bring workers back to work on May 17, the date the Government set for the restart of international travel.

However, and after the traffic light system review last week, it seems like the summer season is over for the carrier.

With Portugal moved back to the amber list and only 11 countries on the green list – but none of them a significant holiday destination – thousands of staff are being put back onto the furlough scheme.

The carrier had already cut more than 8,000 jobs last year, which was the worst downturn in aviation history.

A British Airways’ spokesperson said: “Like many companies, we’re using the furlough scheme to protect jobs during this unprecedented crisis.

“However, it’s vital the Government follows its risk-based framework to re-open international travel as soon as possible, putting more low-risk countries, like the US, on its green list at the next available opportunity.”

Taking to social media, crew and other employees have expressed their frustration with the ongoing travel restrictions.

“Well done @BorisJohnson Aer Lingus calls in liquidator for Stobbart Air whilst British Airways furlough more staff. You are determined to keep US-UK travel corridor shut and destroy the economy.

“Get it open for vaccinated people. There is no reason to delay,” said a crew member.

“BA staff are back on furlough. We are all going to be struggling, we need to stand up now, we’ve got nothing to lose anymore. Enough is enough,” said another.

British Aiways’ CEO Sean Doyle has called for the urgent reopening of the UK-US travel corridor, one of his airline’s key routes.

“We urgently need them to look to the science and base their judgements on a proper risk analysis, allowing us all to benefit from the protection offered by our successful vaccine rollouts”, said Doyle.

UK airline bosses wrote to Prime Minister Boris Johnson last week to demand the travel corridor between UK and the US as the “critical next step”.

During the G7 summit, the Secretary of State for Transport announced that the UK will begin to work on resuming travel with the US.

“We’re pleased to announce a joint UK/US Taskforce to help facilitate the reopening of transatlantic travel,” he said.

However, no progress on the traffic light system is expected to be announced before the Government decides on its domestic policy.

The Government made it clear that its priority at the moment is the easing of the domestic lockdown on June 21.

After that, the travel list will be reviewed again around June 24.

There is hope that more countries will be added to the green list, and restrictions will be eased at least for vaccinated travellers.

BA staff are planning to take the streets of London next week to protest against the current travel restrictions.

thatgamecompany's Award-Winning Sky: Children Of The Light Soars Onto Switch In June

Sky Children Of The Light© thatgamecompany

thatgamecompany is a studio that is rightly held in the highest regard, with titles like Flower and particularly Journey being stand-out releases. For a time it worked solely on PlayStation platforms, but after going its own way it released Sky: Children of the Light on iOS and Android; pleasingly that experience is coming to Nintendo Switch in June.

It’s a game that combines exploration and story for solo players with online interactions, an expansion on an approach we also saw in Journey. There are 7 realms to explore to ‘uncover the mystery’, but meeting others will also allow you to tackle more areas when teaming up; based on many user reviews it’s beautifully handled.

You can get a feel for the gameplay in the Android launch trailer and also the trailer for the latest ‘season’ below.

It’s a free-to-start game, with regular ‘adventure seasons’ released, along with some events that have been designed to raise money for charities such as Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).

We’re fascinated to see how this’ll turn out on Nintendo Switch; will you try it out?

Julia Bradbury's sister careers off road after '3 young'uns throw huge rock onto motorway'

Today, Gina, who runs the website The Outdoor Guide, took her efforts to Instagram, where she shared a snap of her dented car as she further asked for help.

She typed: “On Saturday heading north on M1 between junction 26 & 27 some young ‘uns decided to lob a rock off a bridge which bounced on to my bonnet and windscreen.

“Ironic that I am working for our @theoutdoorguide foundation to donate waterproof kits to schools to encourage kids to go outdoors.

“But not to be dressed appropriately to throw rocks off bridges. What possesses these kids to even think of this type of activity.

“Luckily my sturdy beast stood its ground and I’ve lived to tell the tale. I’m just glad everyone is okay and that our valuable emergency services weren’t needed for such a mindless and fxxxxx stupid act!”(sic)
