Outriders 1.07 update out today: Patch notes reveal important sniper nerf

This post originally appeared on Daily Express :: Gaming Feed

Outriders 1.07 can be downloaded across PS4, Xbox One, PC and next-gen consoles and comes with a long list of bug fixes.

The official patch notes break down all the major changes and also confirm what hasn’t been included in today’s update.

For those gamers still waiting to get their lost loot back, that hasn’t happened today, and there have been no changes made for those who have lost a character.

This is down to how complex it’s providing to bring back the lost inventories, with developers People Can Fly telling gamers today:

“As you will know, we’ve been spending a lot of time on our Character and Inventory restorations process.

“It has been hard to provide an exact date on its go live date so far, mainly because it has hovered on the very threshold of releasing for some time, but a small number of edge cases have forced us to reiterate and retest the process several times over.

“The greatest difficulty we’re facing in particular relates to giving characters the correct item levels, as item levels are calculated using three different variables: Character level, highest unlocked World Tier and highest completed Challenge Tier.

“The complexity of these three variables together on individual affected characters is taking some time for us to get right. Our tests indicate that restoring higher level gear than they should have leads to further character corruption, so we are not able to issue a blanket one size fits all solution here.

“As our restoration tests have progressed, our latest patch was cleared for release.

“While we had hoped to run the restoration process before releasing the patch, this unfortunately is not possible, so we have made the decision to release the patch today so that players can benefit from its fixes while we continue to iterate and work on the restoration process.

“We will update you as soon as we have more news on the progress of the restoration and the community appreciation package that will follow it.”

But while one of the game’s worst issues hasn’t been solved today, that doesn’t mean other problems haven’t been tackled.

Today’s Outriders patch notes confirm that the game’s elite sniper squad which can rain down the pain from half a map away have been nerfed.

There has been no mention of any damage reduction, but the notes do reveal that players will have extra time to dodge bullets.

For anyone who has played Outriders, they will already know that this could make all the difference when trying to dip back into cover.

Outriders Xbox update out today but comes with Inventory patch notes warning

Today’s Outriders Xbox update can be downloaded right now but comes with a big patch notes warning.

As shared by the development team on Twitter, this week’s Outriders update looks to remove performance issues and reinstate crossplay.

But from recent reports, it also has another big side effect that gamers will want to know about.

According to those who have downloaded the patch, it appears that the Outriders Inventory wipe glitch is still kicking.

Not only that, but the problem might have even spread to other parts of the game, having started as a multiplayer glitch.

So if you have downloaded today’s new Outriders Xbox patch, be aware that there could be an increased chance of losing your stuff.

Being a looter shooter, most weapons and gear will become outdated fairly quickly, being replaced by better gear as you go up the ranks of World Tiers and Levels.

The good news is that these issues will be fixed and that most lost gear will be restored. But having lost that stuff, by the time you get it back, it probably won’t have the same worth.

Having said that, the loss of some top mods would put anyone in a bad mood, and according to People Can Fly, there will be limits on what can be restored to players.

Here’s the latest news from developers People Can Fly on the current Inventory issues:

“Since the recent patch, we have seen an increase in reports of this issue and are investigating it urgently.

“We still intend to run a one-off mass restoration so anyone affected by this will still see their items restored. Here are our intentions for this restoration:

  • Restoration should take place on a specific day and should be a one-time event
  • The exact date is TBC but we’re hoping for this to occur in the coming week(s)
  • We will update you when we have confirmation of date and timings
  • We will only be able to restore the most valuable tiers of items lost, e.g. Epics and Legendaries.
  • We will be unlikely to restore an inventory full of blue gear.
  • The restoration should be additive to your inventory. It should not replace your current inventory.
  • Restored items may not be have the exact same stats as the lost items

“Note that restoration will not be possible for items that were acquired but where the game connection was terminated before an autosave could complete as those items would never have made it into your server inventory/our logs. Such suspended autosaving is noticeable when the yellow autosave icon stays active for a longer period of time.

“For any individual restorations that were missed, or that occur in future, we plan to equip our teams to help on an ad hoc basis.

“Please note that these are our intentions that we are providing here for transparency. While we will try our hardest to make things right, we, unfortunately, cannot make guarantees for the specifics of the above or the timeline of this, as we may run into technical difficulties that delay our work.

“The Accolades Wipe issue is something we’re again looking into whether we can run as part of such a one-off restoration or whether we will need to tackle these cases on a one-to-one basis. Accolades are a more complex piece of data per profile than a piece of equipment, so working through a solution here is taking a little more time.”

Outriders 1.05 update: New Outriders patch notes for PS4, Xbox and PS5 release latest

UPDATE: Developers People Can Fly has provided news for gamers on PS5, confirming today’s Outriders 1.05 update will reach them, but it might not arrive until after other platforms.

The latest Outriders patch message reads: “Please note that the PS5 patch is still working its way through release. The patch is required for PS5 to be able to crossplay issue-free with PC/PS4. If you are attempting to crossplay with friends on these platforms, please ensure you install the update when it arrives.

Full patch notes for today’s Outriders update can be found listed at the bottom of this article:

ORIGINAL: Outriders 1.05 is being released today by Square Enix, with good news waiting for gamers hoping to see the return of Crossplay.

As confirmed in the patch notes, today’s Outriders changes will make it possible to play between platforms again. Crossplay is being re-enabled, although People Can Fly have warned there could be a bit of a delay.

According to the latest news shared on Twitter, the Xbox Outriders update is scheduled to roll out today.

But gamers on PS4 and PC will likely receive the patch before those fans using the Microsoft platform. Speaking about the upcoming changes and the re-release of Crossplay, a message from People Can Fly revealed:

“A new patch for PC and PlayStation Platforms will be rolling out over the next few hours!

“We’re a little bit delayed on the Xbox version of this patch, but the @Xbox team are being incredibly supportive in helping us get it ready as soon as we can.

“We are hoping to have this patch ready for Xbox very soon and will update you the moment we have news.

“With the release of this patch, Crossplay between PlayStation and PC is now possible.

“Crossplay between Xbox and PC/PlayStation has been temporarily disabled.

“Crossplay between Consoles and PC will be fully restored once the Xbox patch has gone live.”

So while we don’t know exactly when the game will be updated on all platforms, the process should be completed by April 10.

And the full patch notes for today’s Outriders update confirm that version 1.05 will boast a lot of new bug fixes, and hopefully, some improved matchmaking.

Outriders patch notes: Crossplay fix with first Outriders server update

Patch notes released today provide an early look at the next Outriders update coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Scheduled to launch next week, Square Enix has decided to share early Outriders patch notes to ensure everyone knows what is being planned.

And top of the list of features being fixed is crossplay, which is currently unavailable for the majority of players between console and PC.

The good news is that when everyone has patched their games next week, Outriders Crossplay should be fixed and ready to run again.

This will be the first major update for Outriders, and the team is wary of causing any further issues that could make servers even more unstable.

There is no set time or date for when the new Outriders patch will be available to download, but we do know it will be available at some point next week.

We expect at least 24-hours notices before it arrives, with Square Enix gamers tonight:

“The deployment of this patch is currently scheduled for next week, as we are using this week to identify as many severe issues as possible, fix them and then thoroughly test the changes across all platforms.

“Submission through platform holders adds on a little bit of time as well, which is why we are not able to deploy this patch any earlier.

“We are doing our utmost to deliver you a stable patch as soon as possible and we are continually looking at ways to bring the patch release day earlier. This is why we are not yet committing to a patch release date, as we may still be able to release the patch before such a date.

“We will let you know as soon as we have a confirmed release schedule, so please do keep an eye on our social channels and in particular our Twitter.”

As for the patch notes released today, they confirm that changes are being made to how multiplayer functions and the support team are also looking to fix a number of server issues.

This doesn’t mean that everything will be rolling smooth as an egg just yet, but it should help remove some of the worst problems.

This includes player inventories being wiped due to a horrific bug that will remain in-game over the coming days.

Developers People Can Fly are also making some balance changes to the game, including what kind of loot drops from certain missions and activities.

This includes Historian, bounty hunt, and monster hunt quests no longer granting Legendary items for each subsequent completion.

A message from the Outriders team explains: “While rewarding players for completing all the Historian, bounty hunt, and monster hunt quests is still our intention, we did observe unintended results when players repeated this activity in combination with a specific multiplayer bug.

“With this rewards adjustment, we want to eliminate this exploit behaviour while still making that quest line worth the effort. Players who took advantage of this exploit will not be punished.”

Full patch notes for Outriders released today can be found listed below:

BALANCE CHANGES

  • Chem Plant – Expedition time for Gold/Silver/Bronze adjusted to 650 / 1150 / 1500 seconds (Previously: 957 / 1303 / 1650)
  • Boom Town – Expedition time for Gold/Silver/Bronze adjusted to 390 / 589 / 776 seconds (Previously: 422 / 607 / 792)
    • Some Expeditions seem to be too generous in their required completion times when compared to others.
    • We want to avoid such disproportionate discrepancies, as we believe making all expeditions viable leads to a more diverse and thus more interesting endgame.

Bullet abilities (Twisted Rounds, Blighted Rounds and Volcanic Rounds):

While we fully intend to provide the overpowered feel for the best builds out there, we are also committed to making sure that there is build diversity in the top performing builds.

Late in the demo lifecycle, we discovered a bug with regards to the bullet augmentation abilities damage calculation formula. While we fixed this bug, some unforeseen imbalances were unfortunately introduced, which has led to bullet based abilities vastly outperforming other skills. The main problem with this is that such bullet based builds require much less investment to make them “top tier”, compared to other builds.

To achieve this, we have made a couple of adjustments for the Trickster and Technomancer classes, who benefit the most from their bullet abilities power. It’s uncertain as to whether these changes will prove too strong or too weak, so please do consider this to be only the first step, as we will continue monitoring and adjusting them in the future. Just like you, we hope to see more inspiring and crazy combinations of Abilities and Mods!

  • The base cooldown of the Twisted Rounds skill has increased to 25 seconds (Previously: 16 seconds)
    • While infinite uptime on bullets abilities was always our intention, it is intended to be high risk, high reward playstyle. However, given the current power of this skill, there is very little risk involved in this ability given its short cooldown, even when players fail to trigger ammo replenishment. Increasing its cooldown in combination with adjusting its damage should increase that risk and make this playstyle a more thrilling experience.
  • The Trickster’s Hero Tree nodes: – Disruptive Firepower, Scion of Power, Outrider Executioner – have had their power reduced to 35% (Previously: 50%)
    • The combination of Twisted Rounds’ increase of firepower on top of the multipliers provided by the class tree lead to huge increases of damage dealt by this ability. While we do understand the satisfaction this kind of power can bring, it is currently vastly outperforming our wildest expectations and we therefore need to bring it down a notch.
  • “Vulnerable” status – Power reduced to 15% (Previously: 25%)
  • The Technomancer Hero Tree node -“Damage Against Poison” – has had its power reduced to 15% (Previously: 30%)
    • While the Technomancer’s Blighted Rounds do not provide any damage increase on their own other than ignoring armor as Anomaly Damage, they do provide an excellent tool for spreading the Vulnerable and Toxic statuses. which in turn can scale out of proportion.
  • The Pyromancer Hero Tree Node – “Trial of Ashes” – has been reduced 15% extra damage (Previously: 30%)

After Outriders and MLB The Show, Battlefield 6 rumoured to hit Xbox Game Pass on Day One

Xbox Game Pass looks to be pulling out all the stops to entice gamers over to the Xbox Series X and S. This year the service which has been dubbed by commentators as ‘the best deal in gaming’ has already enhanced its value proposition by having Outriders launch on the service on Day One, and this is being swiftly followed by MLB The Show 21 also arriving on XGP on release day. The latter is especially impressive as the MLB The Show series is a former PlayStation exclusive, and is also developed by Sony’s San Diego Studio.
And from the sounds of it Microsoft might not be stopping there, adding another big name third-party title to Game Pass at launch.

After the news broke last month that Outriders was heading to Xbox Game Pass on Day One Shpeshal Ed – from the XboxEra Podcast – hinted that more was to come.

On Twitter the XboxEra co-founder and co-host tweeted: “Outriders might be the first big 3rd party day one Game Pass release, but it most certainly won’t be the last”.

And in the latest episode of the podcast Shpeshal Ed hinted at one game that could be heading to Xbox Game Pass.

The XboxEra co-host said: “Here’s what I can say. There’s a certain third-party AAA first-person shooter that is highly likely to be launching in Game Pass this fall.”

If you want to hear the quote then click here to head to the section you need to watch on Episode 51 of the XboxEra pod.

After this podcast aired reliable leaker Tom Henderson also tweeted about this.

The leaker – who has previously leaked details about Call of Duty and Battlefield – quoted a tweet from @Okami13_ about this rumour.

Tweeter @Okami13_ wrote: “Could Battlefield 2021 could be a Game Pass Day 1 title?

“Here’s what @Shpeshal_Ed from the XboxEra podcast had to say.”

Quoting this tweet, Tom Henderson simply shared a GIF of a man nodding.

As always with rumours, it’s best to take these latest claims with a big pinch of salt until official confirmation.

But it’s worth pointing out that info Shpeshal Ed has leaked in the past has turned out to be correct, such as teasing Final Fantasy 7 Remake was heading to PlayStation Plus in March.

If Microsoft does manage to secure Battlefield 6 as an Xbox Game Pass title for launch then it would be another big coup for the service.

Elsewhere, there have been plenty of rumours swirling around Battlefield 6 ahead of the highly anticipated official reveal from EA and DICE.

It’s been claimed Battlefield 6 will have fully destructible cites, be set in the near future and will be a soft reboot for the franchise.

Outriders servers, crossplay update, early patch notes and workarounds

Outriders is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia.

The looter shooter is the newest game from People Can Fly, the makers of Gears of War: Judgement and Bulletstorm.

However, despite proving popular at launch, Outriders has experienced one or two issues on console and PC.

Servers have been a big issue, especially when it comes to crossplay between PC users and console players.

“In preparing the Day 1 builds for PC and Consoles, we discovered a desynchronization between the PC and Console code,” reads a Square Enix post.

“This results in a backend mismatch which causes players to be kicked out of a multiplayer game that includes both Console and PC players.

In lieu of an official update, developer People Can Fly has released a workaround, telling PC users to play between Steam and Epic Games.

“We have temporarily turned off automatic matchmaking between PC and Consoles. Steam & Epic players can still Crossplay together, either by invite or via matchmaking.

“Should you invite a Console player into your PC game via an invite code (or vice versa), the game will initially connect, but one player will eventually be kicked out of the game. We highly recommend against doing this until we have patched all versions of the game.”

Other major issues include game crashes during certain missions, issues with the UI and HUD disappearing, inventory wipe problems and key items falling through the map.

PC users are also experiencing issues with in-game stuttering and reduced frame rates.

Potential workarounds include selecting the ‘Play Outriders- DirectX11’ launch option when starting the game, or forcing DX11 to run the game via a command line.

Another workaround – and one that worked for me – is to make sure you have the latest NVIDIA Game Ready installed. You can even trying rolling back to a previous driver in case that makes a difference.

If the visuals are on the blurry side, then it’s worth disabling the FPS limiter in the settings menu.

Ahead of the next update, People Can Fly has released a list known issues and early patch notes, which you can see below.

Outriders DOWN: Server status update, Crossplay not working on PC and PS4

UPDATE: Reports of Outriders servers being down tonight have dropped, but there are still plenty of players running into issues.

The latest update from Square Enix is that they have restarted the Outriders servers and have been able to bring back most services across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Gamers in the US had to wait for the longest, with the Outriders support team explaining on Twitter: “The US accounts for a very substantial part of players and therefore could force an overload if brought in at the same time. We needed to split the incoming populations in order to manage loads.

“Our teams will continue to monitor the overall situation. Sorry, we kept you waiting. Godspeed Outriders. Earlier today, we also pushed a short-term resolution for stuttering players might encounter on Steam.”

So while Outriders is back online for many gamers tonight, it should be noted that more server outages are possible during the weekend.

UPDATE: Outriders servers are down again today, with Square Enix sharing the latest news via Twitter.

The support team are busy trying to fix things, but with so many gamers trying to join in on the action, things are looking tough for the weekend.

The latest news Outriders server status news reads: “We are about to do the mother of all turn-it-off-and-on-agains. This will take all servers offline for a short duration. The complete downage will allow us to rebuild and recover server infrastructure in order to bring it back into a healthy and stable state.

After this happened, the Outriders support team added this: “We are running checks on the restored infrastructure now to ensure it is operating as intended. While we don’t yet have a guaranteed fix or an ETA we are working on getting you back online asap. Please stay tuned!

ORIGINAL: Outriders servers are coming under extreme pressure tonight following the launch of the new looter shooter.

Released earlier today across all platforms, it’s been on PC where Outriders popularity can be best seen.

Steam shows a huge number of gamers logging on to try out Outriders today, having reached over 1 million players at its peak on that one platform.

This number sits at closer to 500K right now but shows how Outriders servers could go down again.

The latest server status news from Square Enix is that they are looking into the various launch problems, including outage issues.

But PC players have also seen other issues with compatibility, with the Outriders team confirming tonight:

“Our teams are continuing to monitor the server situation and crossplay/matchmaking connectivity reports.

“Please be sure to check http://status.outriders.net for any potential Outages going forward.

“We are continuing to explore all avenues of investigation re. stuttering issues, including working closely with NVIDIA to investigate Drivers. We hope to provide more news on this soon.

“DX11 was intended to be a backup should DX12 have run into any issues, but we are aware that DX11 is not launching as intended.

“We are looking into additional possibilities to enable this and hope to provide news tomorrow (Friday).”

As mentioned above, there is a good chance that Outriders servers could go down again tonight, depending on how many more players log in.

Rocky launches for online games are common and it wouldn’t be surprising if things continue to be wobbly for a few days.

This follows news that Outriders Crossplay has been turned off due to a bug causing issues on PC.

It has been confirmed that a patch is being worked on to fix this Crossplay issue but it won’t be available to download today.

And it’s unclear at this time when Outriders Crossplay will be re-enabled for PS4, PC and Xbox One players.

So gamers should prepare for a flurry of fixes and patches to be launched over the coming week as Square Enix looks to work out all the ongoing kinks.

Outriders internet connection error: Sign in issues on PC, Xbox and PS4 servers

UPDATE: Problems with Outriders servers continue today, with connection error issues expected throughout the weekend. The latest update from Square Enix is that servers have been restarted and brought back online.

However, disconnections are still happening across PS4, Xbox One and PC and more work is expected to be conducted over the next 48-hour to help stabilise and improve the gameplay experience.

While earlier today saw servers taken offline for maintenance, these latest outages are lasting a lot less time and are popping up intermittently.

ORIGINAL: Many Outriders fans are unable to play the game tonight, and it looks like issues are set to continue over the coming hours.

If you’re experiencing error messages referencing “Outriders internet connection error”, this is down to technical problems and not connected to a platform outage.

It probably has nothing to do with your own connection, or PC, Xbox, or PlayStation console setup.

The latest news from Square Enix is that they are currently investigating an issue that is affecting the availability of Core Game Components.

The good news is that the Outriders team are working to fix this as soon as possible, but that doesn’t mean things will be returning to normal just yet.

Over on Twitter, Square Enix confirmed that they were having to turn off Outriders servers to try and fix the current issues, telling gamers:

“Server issues are still being investigated! We deeply apologize that coming back online is taking longer than expected – we are trying our best to ensure that we can safeguard against such issues in future and are therefore looking into root causes, not just symptoms.

This was followed by another message, revealing: “We are about to do the mother of all turn-it-off-and-on-again.

“This will take all servers offline for a short duration. The complete downage will allow us to rebuild and recover server infrastructure in order to bring it back into a healthy and stable state.”

And following this drastic action, there still seems to be problems with gamers connecting to the Outriders servers.

The latest update from the team within the last hour reads: “We are running checks on the restored infrastructure now to ensure it is operating as intended.

“While we don’t yet have a guaranteed fix or an ETA we are working on getting you back online asap. Please stay tuned!”

The good news is that this was shared a little while ago, meaning servers could return to normal before the end of the day in the UK.

However, with so many gamers looking to explore Outriders since it first launched, server problems are expected to continue during the weekend.

This could mean intermittent issues knocking players offline from time to time, depending on how many people try to access the game on Saturday and Sunday.

For those that haven’t kept up with the latest releases, Outriders is a new looter shooter published by Square Enix, which has been building hype in 2021.

Offering a chunky demo for those who want to try it out, Outriders has already surpassed a million peak users on Steam, with plenty having tried it on consoles too.

Not only has Outriders proven popular in its early days, but Microsoft has also added it to the Xbox Game Pass for launch week.

This means you can download and play it as part of your subscription on Xbox One and Xbox Series X… as soon as servers are back online.

This follows news that Outriders Crossplay has been turned off due to a bug causing issues on PC.

A message from the Outriders team confirms that PlayStation and Xbox gamers can still play together, but PC is limited to Steam and Epic.

The latest on the Crossplay issues reads: “In preparing the Day 1 builds for PC and Consoles, we discovered a desynchronization between the PC and Console code.

“This results in a backend mismatch which causes players to be kicked out of a multiplayer game that includes both Console and PC players.

“We are treating this issue with the highest priority and we are working on patches that will synchronize all platform code, which will resolve these issues.
