Michael Jackson children: Who got custody of Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson?

American singer Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 after suffering a cardiac arrest. The singer was just 50-years old. On top of his musical fortune and Neverland Ranch property, he also left behind three children: 15-year-old Prince Jackson, 14-year-old Paris Jackson and 10-year-old Blanket Jackson.

Who got custody of Michael Jackson’s children?

In 2009, shortly after Michael died, his mother, Katherine Jackson, was given legal custody of Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson.

Katherine took custody of the children directly after Michael’s death before later being granted official guardianship by the courts.

This decision was in accordance with Michael’s will.

Three years later, in 2012, rumours hit the press that Katherine had been “kidnapped”.

Following this, Katherine briefly lost custody of the children, but later gave a public statement on what happened.

She told ABC: “There are rumours going around about me that I have been kidnapped. I’m fine.

“I’m here with my children, and my children would never do a thing like that.”

Michael’s nephew, TJ Jackson, has since gained guardianship of Blanket.

This change occurred in 2019 after TJ stepped up to help Katherine, who was 89-years-old at the time.

Prince and Paris, on the other hand, were legal adults of 22 and 21-years-old respectively.

TJ said at the time: “When [Michael] passed, my brothers and I, we went to our grandmother [Katherine] and basically told her: however we can help, we want to be there.

“And then, you know, whenever she’d go out of town she’d always call me to see if I can come by, come to the house and, and watch them, you know, and I think she knew I was the only one with a child, so she knew I thought like a parent and I would take care of them like a parent.”

TJ went on: “In time, as she’s gotten older, she’s kind of phased out of it and now I’m officially just the sole guardian. She relinquished it recently.

“But I was always there with my brothers, and I think it’s important because she’s almost 90 years old and she’s a grandma, you know, and, and she needs to relax and it’s tough raising kids, let alone teenagers so, for anyone, let alone a 90-year-old.

“So I think it was the right thing and she needs to relax and enjoy her grandkids as a grandmother.”

TJ has four children of his own and two stepchildren is the nephew of Michael, and the cousin of Prince, Paris and Blanket.

Prince and Paris’ biological mother, Debbie Rowe, did not have any legal custody of them.

At the time it was decided Debbie would get visitation rights with the children, of which the “timing, frequency and manner of visits shall be implemented according to the best interests of the children, as determined by a child psychologist selected jointly, and paid jointly”.

A source told ABC at the time: “The discussions were amicable and cooperative, rather than a give and take negotiation. Both sides cooperated to reach agreement based solely on the best interest of the children.”

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris pursues film career with sensationally sexy new role

Paris has already launched a successful music and modeling career. Now the 22-year-old has hit the big screen in new film The Space Between about a fading former rock star played by Kelsey Grammer and a young record label intern. Paris does take to the stage in the movie, but she also has a central role as the sexy girlfriend of the young lead, including one particularly raunchy scene.

The film was released in the US to stream this week and Paris plays the character Cory, who seems to seduce the rather naive Charlie, played by Jackson White.

Paris posted a new video on Instagram promoting her role, which shows her rocking out sexily on stage, soundtracked in the video cut by Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart.

In another steamy scene, the couple are making out when Paris whispers “Don’t be afraid to tell me what you want.”

She then goes down on her knees as he says, “I want you to never stop doing that…”

The same year she debuted as an actress on the TV drama Star, about aspiring musicians.

In 2019 Paris had a guest role on the MTV show Scream and later this year she will appear in the latest American Horror Story series, Double Feature.

On the big screen, Paris started out in the all-star movie Gringo, opposite Charlize Theron, Thandiwe Newton, David Oyelowo and Amanda Seyfried.

Paris, next film Habit has already attracted major controversy.

The upcoming drama depicts a group of Los Angeles party girls who fall foul of drug runners and go on the run dressed as nuns.

Initial rumours that the film somehow portrayed Jesus as a lesbian lead to attempts to ban the film from the Christian right.

Meanwhile, Paris also continues to work on her music career, after releasing her debut album Wilted last November. She also makes music with her partner Gabriel Glenn in their group, The Soundflowers.

Paris Jackson says paparazzi caused her long-term trauma

The daughter of Michael Jackson has a one-on-one discussion with fellow paparazzi target and friend Willow Smith on Wednesday’s edition of “Red Table Talk.”

NEW YORK — Paris Jackson, stopping by “Red Table Talk” for a frank discussion about living under the media glare, reveals she suffers long-term anxiety and trauma from enduring countless camera clicks by paparazzi since she was a child.

“I experience auditory hallucinations sometimes with camera clicks and severe paranoia and have been going to therapy for a lot of things but that included,” Jackson says. “I’ll hear a trash bag rustling and flinch in panic.” She adds: “I think it’s standard PTSD.”

Jackson, the daughter of Michael Jackson, has a one-on-one discussion with fellow paparazzi target and friend Willow Smith on Wednesday’s edition of the online talk show that airs on Facebook Watch at 9 a.m. PDT/noon EDT.

During the show’s introduction, Smith says she met Jackson on the set of mom Jada Pinkett Smith’s TV show “Hawthorne.” Smith and Jackson soon forged a bond over growing up with parents in the spotlight, and over love of music, modeling, and issues like mental health, sexuality and body image. One way Jackson says she keeps some privacy is by asking people in her home to sign non-disclosure agreements.

Jackson, who has dated men and women, tells Smith that while there is tension with some of her family members over her sexuality, she has leaned on her brothers — Prince and Prince Michael II — and longtime family friend Omer Bhatti.

“They’ve always been super-supportive,” she says, noting that to better connect with his sister, Prince Jackson in high school joined a student-run club that unites LGBTQ+ and allied youth. “Not a lot of people can say they have siblings that support them like that.”

In 2020, Paris Jackson and then-boyfriend Gabriel Glenn — who formed the acoustic duo The Soundflowers — had a docu-series on Facebook Watch called “Unfiltered,” which provided a glimpse into her private life. Jackson revealed self-harm and suicide attempts in her testimonials, and said music was a way to channel her pain. She released her debut solo album “Wilted” in November.

“Red Table Talk” has recently made headlines with interviews with Olivia Jade Gianulli, Kelly Osbourne, and when Pinkett Smith and her husband, Will Smith, discussed their marriage.

Paris riot: Fury against Macron explodes as protesters storm and trash government building

Outrage at Emmanuel Macron’s civil service reforms has seen riots erupt in the French capital of Paris. Furious Parisian garbage collectors and sewer workers stormed a municipal building in the capital over the French President’s proposed austerity measures. The protesters trashed the building, with footage showing people overturning rubbish containers inside the courtyard.

Trade unions claim the new labour reforms would reduce annual leave and increase working hours.

The austerity measures were approved by Emmanuel Macron’s cabinet back in 2019, prior to the Covid pandemic, with the aim to slash over 120,000 civil service jobs across three years.

French political analyst Anne-Elisabeth Moutet told RT: “It’s not just resistance to change. There’s a guerrilla war between the Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo and President Emmanuel Macron.

“Macron wants to streamline the finances of the country. He ordered this before the Covid crisis, which has made it much more difficult because we have spent so much.”

She added: “He is very unpopular with the people with whom he is unpopular but he still has a fairly important rump of people that will support him. He is very polarising and divisive.

“I think he is worried. The polls are much more narrow and he is within the margin of error in some polls against Marine Le Pen, such as 52 against 48 percent. So yes, he is worried.”

The protest, which took place on Wednesday morning, saw hundreds of furious workers storm a Paris town hall in the French capital’s 13th arrondissement.

The demonstration, which saw entire rooms were ransacked, was organised by the General Confederation of Labour (CGT) trade union.

Regional elections will be held in the country this month and a presidential election is scheduled to take place in 2022.

According to the Politico Poll of Polls, President Macron’s approval rating as of June 2 was at 38 percent.

A total of 58 percent disapprove of Mr Macron, while six percent said they had no opinion.

President Macron’s approval rating has not been above his disapproval rating since December 2017 according to the poll, when the rating rose to 48 percent.

Paris protest: Riot police hurl tear gas at demonstrators as Macron demands end to dissent

Riot police in France have clashed with pro-Palestinian protestors on the streets of Paris after large crowds gathered for a banned rally to protest the actions of Israel in Gaza. Flag-waving protestors took the streets of the French capital following six days of heaving fighting between armed Palestinian militants and the Israeli Defence Force which has seen more than 100 killed and left thousands of people in Gaza displaced.
Footage from the rally captures the moment heavily armed riot police charged the march and forced the Pro-Palestinian protestors to flee under a barrage of tear gas canisters.

French officers with riot shields can be seen running through the smoke as they attempt to disperse the crowd.

Masked protestors can be seen responding by hurling smoke grenades and other missiles back at police.

The rally falls on Nakba Day an annual event to commemorate the exile of Palestinians following the founding of the state of Israel in 1948.

French authorities had banned the demonstration in advance, citing violence at previous Palestinian solidarity demonstrations.

Emmanuel Macron’s Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin called on the police to ban today’s demonstration earlier in the week.

On Thursday Mr Darmanin tweeted: “I have asked the Paris police chief to ban the protests on Saturday linked to the recent tensions in the Middle East.”

He added: “Serious disturbances to public order were seen in 2014.”

Jeremy Corbyn was present at the London rally and addressed the crowd with the former labour leader being met with cries of “oh, Jeremy Corbyn.”

He said: “Think what it’s like being a mother or father and seeing a building bombed in front of you, knowing your family is in there, and you can do nothing.

“It’s our global voices that will give succour, comfort and support in those settlements alongside Gaza and all over the West Bank, East Jerusalem who are suffering at this time.

“End the occupation now. End all the settlements now and withdraw then. End the siege of Gaza now.”

Manchester City eye first Champions League final

Manchester City turned the first leg of their Champions League semifinal around to take a huge step towards the final, scoring twice through Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez to go in front in Paris before Idrissa Gueye saw red.

Paris dominated the first half at the Parc des Princes, faced with the challenge of reaching the final for a second consecutive season after beating holders Bayern and five-time winners Barcelona in the previous round, and went ahead after 15 minutes.

Angel di Maria – familiar with City from his season with Manchester United in 2013 – whipped a corner towards the near post, where captain Marquinhos flicked a header beyond Ederson to give his side a lead that they were well worthy of for the remainder of the half.

The runaway Premier League leaders were revitalized when they re-emerged, taking the lead when Player of the Match De Bruyne curled one of his characteristically evasive deliveries into the penalty area, beating the Paris backline and, finally, surprised goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

That gave City the momentum going in to the final 25 minutes of normal time, taking advantage when Mahrez measured a free-kick from a central position between two players in the PSG defensive wall and beyond Navas at his left-hand post this time.

PSG have now lost important home games to City, Marseille, United, Monaco, Lyon, Nantes, Lille and Bayern this season, and star striker Neymar has not scored in his last six games in the knockout stage in the Champions League, although they will remain optimistic ahead of the return leg in Manchester next week.

To compound their despair, midfielder Gueye was dismissed for a dire 77th-minute challenge on Ilkay Gundogan, threatening to badly damage the City playmaker’s ankle with a wincingly late attempt at a tackle.

“We started well in the first ten minutes and had some control but they are an unbelievable team with great quality up front,” De Bruyne told BT Sport afterwards.

“It was a shame the way we conceded. After 25 minutes we changed our press and it became better, and the second half was much, much better. In the first half we were too rushed, and that’s not the way we are set up as a team.

“In the second half we tried to find the spaces more patiently. The progression we made as a team was good.”

The usually-lethal Kylian Mbappe failed to register a single shot after starting a Champions League match for the first time in his career.

“I am satisfied with the performance,” said City boss Pep Guardiola, wary of the particular threat posed by Mbappe and strike partner Neymar.

“We still have 90 minutes to beat them and against a team like PSG anything can happen.

“For a lot of our players it was the first time in the semifinals so they wanted to do well. The last ten minutes of the first half was good, and the second half was excellent.

“We scored two goals away and that is so important, but we have a hard job to do in six days.”

English teams now look marginally more likely to make up the finalists after Chelsea drew 1-1 at Real Madrid in the other semifinal first leg on Tuesday.

Kim Kardashian Reunites With Paris Hilton For Gorgeous Photoshoot In New ‘KUWTK’ Teaser

Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton are back together on the new episode of ‘KUWTK,’ as the former BFF’s reminisce about desperately Kim wanted a magazine cover back in the day.

What a perfect way for the final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians to end, by having Kim Kardashian, 40, reunite for a tea-spilling session with her aughts BFF Paris Hilton, 40. The pair get together to discuss the campaign for Kim’s SKIMS brand velour tracksuits, and the two ladies end up throwing it back to talking about how badly Kim wanted to be on a magazine cover so desperately in their aughts days. That was when the certified billionaire businesswoman was still just known as Paris’ partying sidekick. You can see a sneak peak of the video here.

Paris is seen arriving at Kim’s home in a leopard print short sleeve crop top and matching pants, with her long blonde hair in glam, wavy curls. “Hi! How are you? I texted you earlier, I think I have the wrong number,” Kim tells Paris, who replies in her couldn’t be bothered tone of voice, “I have like five phones, so it might be one of those.”

Kim goes on to discuss in a confessional how she came up with the idea for getting together with Paris to do the SKIMS velour tracksuit photoshoot. “The TikTok campaign wasn’t really authentic to me, but then I thought, OMG, me, Paris, like that is everything,” she exclaims.

Kim and Paris go on to look at some old photos of Kim back in the day to provide inspiration for the throwback campaign. One of Kim’s stylists shows a phone screen grab of Kim posing in a pink babydoll dress against a white Range Rover back in 2007, as Paris asks, Is that for Complex?” Kim tells her, “It was either Complex or Dub magazine. It was like the only cover I could get at the time.”

Kim continued, “I remember I wanted to be on the cover of a magazine so badly that there was a dog magazine, and I hated dogs. I didn’t even have a dog, they were like, ‘would you be on the cover?’ and I was like, ‘whose dog can I borrow?’” The KKW Beauty founder then revealed that she ended up borrowing pal Nicole Richie‘s pup to score the gig.

Of course Kim doesn’t have to beg to be on the cover of magazines anymore, as one of the world’s most famous women today. She’s scored two highly coveted American Vogue covers, including one with estranged husband Kanye West in 2014 and a solo cover in May 2019. Kim’s business prowess has also landed her on the cover of such financial bibles as Forbes magazine, which recently named her to their 2021 billionaire’s list. She’s sure come a long way from having to beg to be on the cover of dog magazines!

Disaster for Neymar: Riled Brazil star sent off on his first start in months as Paris Saint-Germain flop in top-of-the-table clash

Brazil playboy Neymar was sent off after an embarrassing spat in the final minutes of his first league start for Paris Saint-Germain in almost three months, shoving an opponent as the French giants lost a crucial home match.

Starting the afternoon level on points with visitors Lille in Ligue 1, reigning champions PSG were boosted by the return of their star striker from the opening whistle for the first time since the end of January.

Their prospects swiftly took an unpromising turn as Canada youngster Jonathan David gave their title rivals a 20th-minute lead, sending Mauricio Pochettino’s side on their way to an eighth defeat of the season.

On a frustrating afternoon, Neymar was booked over an altercation at the start of the second half and missed several inviting chances, sending a free-kick over the target and seeing a fierce shot saved by goalkeeper Mike Maignan.

The notoriously petulant forward saved the worst until last. Entering additional time, Neymar appeared to fall over while chasing possession near the corner flag in Lille territory, then rushed to grab the ball after being awarded a free-kick.

As Lille’s Tiago Djalo held on to the ball in a routine attempt to run down precious seconds, Neymar lost his cool and shoved the defender, who fell theatrically to the floor clutching his face before the referee initially awarded a red card only to Neymar.

In the ensuing melee, Djalo was also dismissed as players from both sides surrounded the referee, with Neymar encouraging his opponent to leave the pitch by clasping him around the back of his neck.

Paris had won 4-2 away at title contenders Lyon before the international break, but Neymar was unable to help them avoid a third straight home league defeat following a shock setback against relegation strugglers Nantes and a damaging loss to third-placed Monaco, who are just a point behind them.

Neymar has played three full matches for the club this calendar year, all of which were in January – and he has been on the pitch for only 25 minutes since then.

While PSG had 16 shots to Lille’s three, their wastefulness was encapsulated by the fact that Christophe Galtier’s men matched Paris’s accuracy by directing all three of their shots on target.
