Spice Girls releasing new song to mark 'Wannabe' 25th anniversary

The iconic British pop group has been a cultural mainstay around the globe for decades showcasing the bubbly side of British entertainment.

WASHINGTON — Editor’s note: The WKYC video is from June 2019.

Look who’s back! The Spice Girls, who shot to worldwide fame in the 90s, are releasing a new song to mark the 25th anniversary of the group’s debut single “Wannabe.”

The girl power group have apparently held onto a previously unreleased ballad called “Feed Your Love,” which they have now decided to release to commemorate the big anniversary.

As the Daily Mail and other UK outlets put it, the song is the first new track to be released by the group since 2007. The Spice Girls did release a music video for their song “Denying” in April of 2020, but the song itself was first featured on their 1997 album “Spiceworld.”

Ginger, Sporty, Baby, Scary and Posh Spice have put together a special EP, including the previously unreleased ballad “Feed Your Love,” for their 25th anniversary commemoration album called “Wannabe25.”

The new song contains vocals from all five members including Geri Horner, 48, Melanie Chisholm, 47, Emma Bunton, 45, Melanie Brown, 46 and Victoria Beckham, 47. The new song will be available to stream on July 9.

In 2012, the group reunited to perform a medley of their greatest hits during the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

In 2019, the Spice Girls reunited again for a U.K. tour without Beckham.

The group has also launched their #IAmASpiceGirl campaign, OK! Magazine and other entertainment outlets reported. The group is asking fans to upload their favorite memories involving the group to Instagram and Twitter using the hashtag. Fans can also email content to [email protected]

As the Sun reported, the Spice Girls said in a statement “the Spice Girls belong to everyone and that’s why we want to mark 25 years of ‘Wannabe’ by celebrating our incredible fans.”

However, they have recently announced their new song, Butter, which has signalled to a potential brand-new album later in the year.

RM teased the song earlier in the year, saying: “We will also come back with a good song again this year so we will appreciate it if you look forward to it.”

The song was officially announced after a one-hour video of a chunk of butter and a countdown was shared on social media, where the name of the song was finally revealed.

Smyths PS5 UK stock April update releasing before Game and Amazon PlayStation 5 restocks

UK PS5 stock hunters have been warned that Smyths Toys could be the next major retailer to get a shipment of next-gen consoles.

News shared earlier this week suggests that Smyths will be one of the next retailers to offer the chance to buy a PlayStation 5, following months of frustrations.

The good news is that Smyths is expected to be followed by Game and Amazon, who are reportedly receiving more stock in April.

But while there’s going to be plenty of chances at buying a PS5 console this month, there won’t be enough to keep up with demand.

Stock tracker accounts suggest that the next Smyths PS5 stock will offer a limited number of consoles.

This will mean that gamers will only have a slim chance at purchasing a PS5 this week, and they will need a lot of luck on their side.

From previous stock updates, Smyths could choose to release its latest batch on April 2, 2021.

Smyths has also favoured evening releases, but this remains an educated guess until we have more concrete news.

The Smyths stock is expected to drop between April 1 and April 7, and is unlikely to arrive during the weekend.

Meanwhile, other retailers like Game and Amazon UK are expected to restock the PlayStation 5 several times in April.

Unfortunately for us, we don’t know when this will be happening, and we don’t have a guaranteed time to check for it.

The latest information has been shared PS5 Instant on Twitter, which provided this update for April:

Knowing that more PlayStation stock is coming is important, but console hunters should also know the best ways to get stock from each platform.

Here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.

AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.

GAME: Game is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase.

Early morning drops are also widespread, and gamers can keep an eye out for the latest news using stock tracker accounts and services.
