PS Now July: One of PlayStation Now’s best games is being replaced

Marvel’s Avengers has been confirmed as one of the most popular games on the PlayStation Now streaming service.

And today, it’s being replaced by a wave of new titles that includes Red Dead Redemption 2.

Rumours of such a swap were first shared earlier this month after a leaked video ad emerged.

And Sony has today announced its plans, confirming that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be added to PS Now on July 6.

And Red Dead 2 won’t be the only big PS4 game that will be available to play via the streaming platform in July.

The tech giant has also revealed plans to add God of War, Nioh 2, Judgment, Moving Out, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, and Nascar Heat 5.

Judgement will be available to play for the shortest period, with the Sega title scheduled to leave the platform in October 2021.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the only other game with a set end date, with Sony planning to drop the title in November 2021.

Sony has also confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on PlayStation Now until November 1, 2021 exclusively via PS4/PS5 download.

As mentioned above, these seven new games for PlayStation Now will be available to play on Tuesday, July 6.

This is the same day that the latest free PS Plus games will be available to download and play from the PlayStation Store.

This month’s lineup has two PS4 games and one PS5 title that is available exclusively to next-gen console owners.

A Plague Tale: Innocence will remain available to download on PS5 consoles until August, alongside WWE 2K Battlegrounds and Black Ops 4 on PS4.

While gamers will have a fresh lineup of new games to play this week, they will also be losing Marvel’s Avengers.

And what makes this removal a little different is that Avengers has proven very popular across all PS Now platforms.

Sony confirmed that it was the most played game on PS4 and PS5 console between March 1 and June 1, and the fourth most played on PC over the same period.

The data looks even more impressive when you take into account that this includes information from March 1 to June, with Marvel’s Avengers only added to the service during April.

This means that even though it was only available for two of the three months included, it still proved immensely popular with subscribers.

A description for all the less well-known games being added to the PS Now service can be found below:

'Get a grip!' Fury at calls for word 'mother' to be replaced by 'person who's given birth'

Some campaigners have called for the word to be replaced with a “parent who has given birth”. In the wake of the calls for the word to be replaced in a controversial equality drive, Express.co.uk readers have expressed their outrage over the “woke snowflakes”. Commenting on the story, one reader said: “What is happening to our English language as it seems to being influenced by complete nutters.”

Another said: “When will the majority actually have a say?

“Time to get a grip on these woke snowflakes.”

A third said: “It’s absolutely doing my head in, I have my daughter saying you can’t say this, it has to be said this way, I don’t know why there are so many insecure people out there.”

Another person called for the “idiot thinking” to stop in a furious attack against those calling for the change.

They said: “Sick to death of all his rubbish.

“I’m sure anyone in their right mind will just ignore all the woke idiots.

“I gave birth to two beautiful boys, now wonderful young men and I’m their mother/mum, not their ‘person’. Ridiculous!”

LGBT+ charity Stonewall has a scheme that advises organisations on how they can become more diverse.

Stonewall has also had correspondence with the Welsh Government who have now concluded they will use the term “chestfeeding” instead of “breastfeeding”.

It said: “The Maternity and Adoption Leave Policy was updated in April to incorporate gender-neutral language, removing binary gender references wherever possible.

“An accompanying policy, previously called New & Expectant Mothers Policy has been renamed ‘Policy for Pregnant or Nursing Employees’.

“It has been revised to use non-gendered language, using the umbrella term ‘nursing’ to cover breastfeeding and chestfeeding.

“There are specific references to chestfeeding and we have ensured that the policy is inclusive for trans and non-binary parents.”

Stonewall said: “Since we set up the Diversity Champions programme in 2001, many large employers have developed major internal programmes to promote diversity and inclusion across their staff.”

Equalities minister Liz Truss, is pushing for Government departments to withdraw from the organisation’s employment scheme.

According to The Times, Ms Truss has told officials she believes Government bodies should withdraw from the diversity champions scheme, while the Equality and Human Rights Commission has withdrawn for “cost reasons”.

Virgin of Guadalupe statue replaced after previous gunfire incident at SE Houston church

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe that was found vandalized outside of a southeast Houston church in January was finally replaced Sunday morning.Queen of Peace Catholic Church held a replacement statue inauguration in the 3000 block of Telephone Road at 9 a.m., honoring the new Virgin Mary as parishioners adorned the area with flowers.

Witnesses said the person responsible is a man who was wearing a red suit and a black hat.

“I just think it’s something evil, you know? It’s something that’s not good. We were scared because it’s right across the street,” said Ruby Garcia, who lives in the area.

Garcia’s mother cleaned the previous statue every other day and said she was extremely upset.

“It’s just ridiculous. The first thing I thought about, I said, ‘Well, what if someone had been there and gotten shot accidently because some stupid person passed by shooting it?'” wondered Irene Garcia, another resident of the area.Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to contact authorities.

The site, located just feet away from Telephone Road, is visited often by parishioners and others in the area for prayer and inspiration.

Queen of Peace Catholic Church was established in 1945. It wasn’t clear when the statue was installed.

Our Lady of Guadalupe traces its roots back to 1531 when an apparition of Mary, the mother of Jesus, appeared five times in Mexico, according to historical accounts[2]. A cloak containing an image of her is located at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City and is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites[3] for the Catholic faithful.

Keown calls for Aubameyang to be replaced by young Arsenal star

Mikel Arteta has to drop Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if he wants to retain the “respect” of his Arsenal[1] squad, according to Martin Keown.

The forward put in a dire performance as the Gunners were humbled 3-0 by Liverpool[2] on Saturday.

Arteta’s side barely threatened and were well beaten as their slim European hopes took yet another hit.

Aubameyang’s form has been a talking point for much of the season and his manager has shown a willingness to drop him, albeit for disciplinary reasons.

But Keown believes the Gabon forward must be replaced by Gabriel Martinelli, who has remained on the bench recently.

“Arteta has a big decision to make on his captain,” he told the Daily Mail.[3]

“He set an example by dropping Aubameyang for the north London derby recently. Aubameyang was supposed to start against Spurs but turned up late and was pulled.

“Should Arteta not be dropping him for performing as poorly as he did against Liverpool? If he sticks with him, he risks losing the respect of the group.

“It’s time to bring in 19-year-old Gabriel Martinelli. He is too good to be sitting on the bench.”

The young Brazilian is a favourite among Arsenal fans and enjoyed an excellent debut season.

This term his efforts have been disrupted by injuries and he’s made just 12 appearances thus far.

Martinelli came on to replace Aubameyang at the Emirates on Saturday and Keown wants that change from the start.

“His team-mates see him in training and know what he can do,” he added. “They will be baffled by his continued absence. I know I am.”

“Use him on the left. Use Bukayo Saka on the right. Start Emile Smith Rowe. Then you’ll have a team who can pose problems for the opposition. There were too many passengers against Liverpool.”
