Couple ‘sharing bed’ with ‘poltergeist’ who watches television with them

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Michael Lee said that the supernatural situation started with footprints coming towards them across the bed. Now, he says that the ghost has become more comfortable and lies across the bed with him, his husband, Blake Lee, and their cat Maggie at their home in Southport, Merseyside.

The couple believe that the presence is a dog and is confident that it has no intentions of causing them any harm.

They claim that their cat tries to avoid it where possible, further supporting their theory that the apparition is a canine.

Mr Lee said: “About five in the morning, I thought the cat had come on the bed to wake us up for food, but the cat was nowhere to be seen.

“It was like footprints that were coming slowly on the bed, then lay on my foot.

“It lays crossways. You can see where I have a fluffy blanket on the bed it is completely flat then when this dog comes across you can see the dip in the bed where it is lying. It is quite heavy, too heavy to be a cat.”

Mr Lee’s phone has an infrared camera which features a two way microphone that the couple decided to put to use.

He spoke into the bedroom using the camera, asking “is anybody there?” before being met with what he says was a “high pitched howl”.

After asking if the ghoul was a dog, he was met with the same noise once again.

Have an Amazon device? Take action now or you may be sharing your internet with neighbors

If you have an Amazon device in your home like an Echo, Alexa, or Ring doorbell or floodlight camera, Amazon wants to create a shared wireless network by using your internet.

If you don’t take action, Amazon is about to share your internet with your neighbors. It’s called Amazon Sidewalk, and the company says it’s supposed to help devices work better.

How it works is if one of your Amazon devices loses connectivity, your device would just switch to a neighbor’s internet signal so the service wouldn’t be disrupted.

“You’re donating a portion of your internet bandwidth to a pool for Amazon to use. So, you’re paying money for that internet, but now you’re getting this free service, and then now you’re giving some of it back for this pool,” said Craig Petronella, an IT Cybersecurity expert with Petronella Technology Group, INC in Raleigh.

Petronella says sharing your internet like this could slow down your connection. Amazon says the total monthly data used by sidewalk enabled devices is capped at 500 MB, about what it takes to stream ten minutes of high-definition video.

Petronella says the bigger concern is your privacy, and security.

“It should be an eye-opener any time you add a device to your network, don’t automatically opt-in until you study it and make sure that you’re comfortable with the risks and then you also know how to manage and update the thing to make sure that you’re taking the security seriously for that application or device,” he said.

Despite companies taking action to protect customer’s information, it can still get into the wrong hands.

“I still don’t want to trust any one company to do security right, I mean look at the headlines the breaches you know all big companies and small companies are getting hit with ransomware and all sorts of nasty threats.”

Amazon does go into detail about how it protects your privacy and security here.

Petronella suggests Amazon customers read exactly how Sidewalk will impact their security and privacy.

“If you’re quick to add those things to your network but don’t properly secure those devices, those are like Windows or doorways into your house that they have risks associated with them, and you need to manage those risks. And if you can’t manage those risks effectively then you shouldn’t use the service or the device,” he said.

If you have an Amazon device, it will automatically be included in the Sidewalk network on June 8.

You can opt-out, but you have to take action. You need to log into your Alexa or ring app, go to settings, select account settings and turn off Amazon Sidewalk.

For information on how to opt-out if you have a Ring device click here. For other Amazon devices like Alexa, click here.

Sarah made clear that the temporary home they’re living in at the moment has reduced hot water.

The 49-year-old explained that it makes more sense to her to get into the same bath water as her husband, for example, than wait another two to three hours for hot water.

Ex-England footballer Le Tissier blasted after sharing video of UK prime minister Boris Johnson discussing vaccines and lockdown

Former England midfielder Matthew Le Tissier has turned off his replies on Twitter after questioning an interview given by Boris Johnson, sharing a video of the UK prime minister talking about Covid-19 lockdowns and vaccines.

Outspoken former Southampton stalwart Le Tissier often holds forth on public debates on Twitter, inviting a predictably fiery range of responses to his views on Covid-19, the UK government’s approach to the pandemic and other topics.

Sharing a video of Johnson speaking about falling infection rates, Le Tissier voiced his suspicions and interpreted the premier’s remarks about health guidelines as being negative about the impact of treatments.

“Just Bojo admitting vaccines don’t work but still trying to make them mandatory,” posted the playmaker, who was long regarded as one of the finest creative midfielders in the Premier League.

“But guess what? Compared to countries not locked down, [the] curve is the same – so lockdowns don’t work, either.”

Rather than encourage debate on his latest observations, Le Tissier, who was recently ousted from his broadcasting post with Sky Sports, blocked replies –but that didn’t stop respondents having their say elsewhere on the social media platform.

“I love how the big f*cking idiot turns his replies off so people can’t directly call him a tw*t,” came one insult.

“Here he goes. Le Tissier again proving that heading a football causes irreversible brain damage,” added another.

A critic of the UK lockdown supported Le Tissier. “Never thought I’d agree with [him], but it’s strange times indeed,” they said.

The vast majority, though, could not resist the opportunity to point out that Johnson had only appeared to be arguing that vaccines were not an all-in-one solution.

“For f*ck’s sake,” said one. “Matt Le Tissier purposefully misunderstanding something he doesn’t agree with. Surprise, surprise.”

“I can’t believe Matt Le Tissier is making me want to defend a comment made by Boris Johnson,” scoffed another.

“He doesn’t admit the vaccines don’t work – it’s just that seeing as only five million people are fully vaccinated so far, it’s quite obviously the lockdown that’s led to the reduced transmission.”

Even a fan of the Saints, for whom Le Tissier is regarded a legend, put the boot in. “To all football fans out there, Matt le Tissier’s conspiracy theorist lies don’t represent the club or us fans,” they regretfully announced.

“He’s an embarrassment to club and our city. Spreading misinformation for 12 months is not having an opinion – it’s an illness.”

Gladiator 2: Russell Crowe and Chris Hemsworth ‘sharing script ideas’ – Thor star Lucius?

Chris Hemsworth has been in his native Australia shooting Thor Love and Thunder with director Taika Waititi and co-stars Natalie Portman and Tessa Thompson. During a day off, they were spotted watching the South Sydney Rabbitohs play the Sydney Roosters at Rugby League. They were also joined by Gladiator star Russell Crowe, sporting a huge beard, who has been confirmed for a mystery role in Thor 4 too.
Additionally, Hemsworth has shared a photo of himself and his wife Elsa Pataky enjoying time on a boat with Crowe.

Now according to Aussie outlet New Idea’s insider, Hemsworth wants to co-produce Gladiator 2 with the Oscar-winner.

The source allegedly close to the Thor star said: “Chris is in awe of Russell. He hangs off his every word and Russ has really taken him under his wing.”

They added that while filming Thor Love and Thunder, the actors have spent hours talking and sharing script ideas.

The insider claimed that Hemsworth’s wife Elsa planted the seed for her husband to play Maximus’ son.

The source added: “She’s often joked they could easily pass off as father and son – and Russell thinks he could be the only man to credibly play his son in a Gladiator sequel.”

Of course, Maximus’ family were killed in the first movie, but maybe Hemsworth could play Lucilla’s son Lucius all grown up?

Such insider reports should be taken with a pinch of salt, but it’s certainly within the realms of possibility what with Gladiator 2 still in the works.

Scott, 83, has The Last Duel, reuniting Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, in post-production for release in October.

While the filmmaker is currently shooting House of Gucci with Lady Gaga, Al Pacino and Adam Driver for a November debut.

Nielsen continued: “It would obviously be amazing, and I know that a lot of people want to see more of that.

“And I think that all of us are just gonna have to look at that as a separate, different film, you know?”

Nielsen added: “But with some of the emotions and values that made Gladiator so powerful for so many people, which I really think were the underlying values that we were talking about.

“Tyranny versus freedom, and the willingness to do what needs to be done in order to free a people.

“And I don’t think that it would have been the same if it had just been a spectacle. It had to exist within a sphere of values.”

Of course, Crowe’s Maximus perished in Gladiator, but perhaps he could feature in de-aged flashbacks or a vision from the fields of Elysium?

UFC warrior Stipe Miocic’s wife reassures fans he is ‘alright’ by sharing picture from hospital after shuddering UFC 260 KO defeat

UFC heavyweight Stipe Miocic’s wife has taken to social media to put fans’ minds at rest following his brutal knockout at the hands of Francis Ngannou at UFC 260 on Saturday, posing next to the bruised fighter in hospital.

The Croatian was knocked out in brutal fashion as he lost his title in Las Vegas, taking a heavy beating in the second round of his rematch against heavy-hitting Cameroonian Ngannou.

Unable to go 2-0 in a grudge match series with his rival, Miocic missed out on a chance to surpass Randy Couture with seven title wins in the division and set up a super fight with Jon Jones.

“He’s alright, still my hero!” ran the caption to Ryan Marie Miocic’s post.

The post was accompanied by a photo of the couple that showed the 38-year-old brawler, although banged up, looking far better than he had at the end of the encounter while raising a smile from his hospital bed.

Despite his advancing years and the savage nature of his fourth defeat, there hasn’t been any talk of Miocic winding up his career yet.

His legacy as the greatest UFC heavyweight of all time is considered secure among many commentators for now, and there is still the possibility of a trilogy clash with Ngannou to match his 2-1 series win against Jon Jones’ bitter foe, Daniel Cormier.

To Jones’ and perhaps Miocic’s dismay, Ngannou looks to be moving past them and on to another revenge bout.

Despite ‘The Predator’ calling Jones out following his impressive win, UFC president Dana White wants Ngannou to face Derrick Lewis once more instead.

Elliot Page gives 1st interview since sharing transgender identity

Page explained to Time Magazine that he felt a responsibility to share his truth as people spread ‘myths and damaging rhetoric’ about transgender people.

WASHINGTON — In his first interview since announcing he is transgender, Oscar-nominated actor Elliot Page is opening up about the past few months, his career, and his continued push for transgender rights.
In Dec. 2020, Page shared that he is transgender. In his first interview since then, the “Umbrella Academy” star told Time Magazine the reaction was about what he expected overall, but he didn’t anticipate just how big of a news story it would become.
“What I was anticipating was a lot of support and love and a massive amount of hatred and transphobia,” Page told Time. “That’s essentially what happened.”
Since December, Page has remained mostly quiet on social media but has been advocating for the ACLU and other groups fighting anti-trans legislation around the country.
Last week, Mississippi Republican Gov. Tate Reeves signed a bill banning transgender athletes from competing on girls, or women’s sports teams. Mississippi was the first state this year to enact such a ban, with more than 20 states considering similar bills.
“With deep respect for those who came before me, gratitude for those who have supported me & great concern for the generation of trans youth we must all protect, please join me and decry anti-trans legislation, hate & discrimination in all its forms,” Page tweeted on Tuesday.
He told Time coming out as trans was, on one level just for him, so he could live and be who he truly is, but Page explained he also felt a responsibility to share his truth.
“Extremely influential people are spreading these myths and damaging rhetoric—every day you’re seeing our existence debated,” Page said to Time. “Transgender people are so very real.”
“My privilege has allowed me to have resources to get through and to be where I am today and of course I want to use that privilege and platform to help in the ways I can,” Page told Time.
As for his career, Page is now filming the third season of The Umbrella Academy. “It’s going to be an adjustment,” Page told Time, as people accidentally use the wrong pronouns. However, Page told TIME coworkers also see an acknowledge him.
According to the Hill, Page is the first openly transgender man to appear on Time’s cover.
