Andrea Bocelli sings beautiful rendition of Melodramma accompanied by cellist WATCH

Andrea Bocelli has been captured in a new music video giving a stunning live performance of Melodramma. The Italian tenor was singing from inside the Teatro Del Silenzio alongside Stjepan Hauser. Also known simply as HAUSER, the Croatian cellist is a member of 2CELLOS, while Melodramma was the lead single on Andrea’s 2001 album Cieli di Toscana.
Melodramma was written by Pierpaolo Guerrini and Paolo Luciani and the track was later included on Andrea’s 2007 greatest hits album.

Earlier this week, the 62-year-old and HAUSER were captured performing Time To Say Goodbye together in the same spot.

The iconic song is one of the best-selling singles of all time with over 12 million copies sold worldwide.

Fans will know the Teatro Del Silenzio is an open-air amphitheatre that hosts Andrea Bocelli‘s own concert every July.

The venue’s name translates as Theatre of Silence as usually, the structure remains quiet for the rest of the year, although these performances with HAUSER seem to be an exception.

The cellist posted the Time To Say Goodbye clip on his Instagram page, praising Andrea.

He wrote: “My dear Maestro Andrea Bocelli, one of the purest souls in this world, I’m beyond grateful for your hospitality and honoured to feel like a part of your extraordinary family.

“The song says it’s Time To Say Goodbye but I say this is start of something new!”

Earlier this month, Andrea shared a beautiful tribute song video to his mother Edi Bocelli, who rejected advice from doctors to abort her son over concerns he would be born disabled.

From his birth, the future opera singer had problems with his sight and was later diagnosed with congenital glaucoma, before going completely blind aged 12 after a football match accident.

Edi’s decision to not terminate her pregnancy with him has inspired Andrea’s own pro-life views.

Sharing a lyrics video for the song Mamma, the Italian tenor captioned it: “The first word we learn how to say, the first sound to mean something as if we see in her the heart and the secret of life itself from the start of our earthly adventure: mom!”

Andrea added: “She who, through divine grace, lives the generous mystery of birth, the sacred plan of giving shape and consciousness to clay.

“She, force and breath of the world, the most powerful messenger of Heaven, who teaches us what love is and what it is like. I’m thinking of my mother and affectionately of all mothers, of their unbreakable strength.

“I thank each of them and celebrate the natural setting where motherhood thrives: the family, where we learn and teach the young to choose the path of good. Celebrating Mother’s Day means celebrating life: today especially, but not only today, because mothers deserve it every day of the year. Andrea.”

The songs lyrics speak of the pain and longing of a dying man looking into the eyes of a woman who is so dear to him.

During the same 2018 concert, Matteo also sang a duet with Slovenian singer Nuška Drašček.

The two performed Elvis Presley’s Can Help Falling In Love from The King’s 1961 movie Blue Hawaii.

More recently, Matteo has shared a cover of Justin Bieber’s Holy on his Instagram.

Accompanying the video, he wrote: “Holy (Acoustic) by @justinbieber. The first time I heard this song I fell in love with it on the spot. Here’s my version of “Holy” (Acoustic) by @justinbieber I hope you like it too…”

In a YouTube Q&A last year, Matteo teased: “We’re composing a lot of songs that we hope to share with you very soon. I’m writing a lot of new music.”

Around the time, Express.co.uk asked the 62-year-old if a family album was now in the works considering the talent and popularity surrounding his children.

Andrea replied: “It’s not a consideration at the moment. But… never say never.”

The Italian tenor performed his rendition of the song over 15 years ago for Live at Lake Las Vegas Resort.
Considering Elvis’ connection to the city of Las Vegas as a performer, it only seemed right that Bocelli gives The King a run for his money.

Foster added: “There’s got to be a song that you could pull out of your hat that is very appropriate and right for this occasion being in Las Vegas, no?”

Bocelli then went over to the piano to show the pianist how to play Can’t Help Falling In Love, before launching into the song himself.

It’s hardly surprising the now 62-year-old chose to sing the Elvis song considering its romantic history.

The melody for Can’t Help Falling In Love is based on Plaisir d’amour, a well known French love song composed in 1784 by Jean-Paul-Égide Martini.

Bocelli performed Hallelujah at his festive live-streamed concert Believe in Christmas last December.

Yet the Italian tenor didn’t sing it solo, but as a duet with his daughter Virginia in her debut professional performance.

The eight-year-old joined her father on the stage of the Teatro Regio di Parma on December 12, 2020, before the two gave a goosebump-inducing rendition.

The tenor spoke with Express.co.uk last year, describing the feeling of singing such a beautiful track with his daughter.

Bocelli said: “It was a true Christmas present that Virginia gifted to me. It was very emotional but there was no apprehension: I focused on the beauty and intimacy and I tried to convey the serenity, encouragement and reassurance to Virginia.

“We sat on stage with only a guitar, the silence and her voice intertwining with mine. It was beautiful and simple.

“It was a very special moment, one to savour and remember always.”
