Carey Mulligan’s Husband Marcus Mumford Hilariously Crashes Her ‘SNL’ Monologue With His Guitar

Marcus Mumford showed up during wife Carey Mulligan’s ‘SNL’ debut and couldn’t resist trying to sing a song or two!

Carey Mulligan[1], 35, made her hosting debut on Saturday Night Live[2]! The Pride & Prejudice actress stunned in a pink silk suit with a cropped blazer as she addressed the audience at Studio 8H that just happened to include her husband Marcus Mumford[3] of the band Mumford & Sons. After she finished explaining that he was at home with their kids Evelyn[4], 5, and Wilfred, 3, he hilariously popped up to interrupt monologue. “It’s me Marcus Mumford, from the Mumford & Sons,” he declared to a confused Carey.

“What a surprise, lovely to see you — where are the kids[8]?” she questioned, clearly confused. “I left them with the sons! I couldn’t miss this! You’re going to smash it! SNL!” he exclaimed back, before getting right down to business: “Do you know if they booked a musical guest for tonight?” (Kid Cudi[9], 37, was booked for the episode). “Yes. Quite sure,” Carey responded point blank, as Marcus pulled out his guitar. “I think we’ve got it covered…thank you, darling,” Carey added as he began playing anyway.

Marcus reasoned that he thought Carey was “giving” him a “signal” — “our secret couple signal for please play the guitar?” he pondered. “We are not that couple!…Do you remember the bit at the end of the monologue where we say we the show is going to be great — do you want to play the guitar for that bit?” she offered as he rushed down to the stage.

In a promo ahead of the episode, Carey ended up with a new nickname! Kenan Thompson[13] dubbed himself as “Adult Kenan,” before calling his host for the week “Little Baby Angel Carey.” She didn’t seem to mind, noting she wants “everyone has to call me that from now on!” Kid Cudi, 37, also made his debut on the NBC sketch series a year after the release Man on the Moon III: The Chosen[14]. He also just dropped a remix of “Memories” with David Guetta in January.

In the next take from the promo, Carey took aim at both Kid Cudi and Kenan. “Carey, your movies are pretty serious. Are you ready to loosen up with us?” Kenan questioned. “Kenan, I’m ever so glad you asked,” the two time Golden Globe winner responded, as dramatic music began playing. “We’ve all been through so much this year, but I must tell you with God as my witness…I’m ready –…” she trailed off, before cutting the dramatics. “Yeah, I’m kidding. I’m not like that,” she noted as Kid Cudi wiped a tear from his eye.”That was riveting though,” the rapper hilariously responded.

Timothée Chalamet Plays His ‘Weird Little Flute’ In ‘SNL’ Sketch With Kid Cudi & Pete Davidson

Timothée Chalamet Plays His ‘Weird Little Flute’ In ‘SNL’ Sketch With Kid Cudi & Pete Davidson

Timothée Chalamet made a cameo during a hysterical musical sketch that was inspired by some of Timbaland’s old school beats!

Timothée Chalamet[1], 25, couldn’t stay away from the SNL stage for too long! Just four months after his hosting debut, the actor made a hilarious cameo during the “Weird Little Flute” sketch. In the bit, Pete Davidson, Chris Redd and musical guest Kid Cudi[2] rapped over a beat that appeared inspired by some of Timbaland‘s iconic 90s beats (read: lots of flutes). “Timmy Chalamet loves a weird little flute,” they rapped, as the actor than appeared in an orange-and-black sweater with an instrument of his own. Mic drop!

“We got that drip drip drip we got that brut…the only thing that’s missing is that weird little flute,” part of the song went, showing just some of the strange ways the trio used the musical instrument such as eating ramen, to wake up their moms, or even as a wand like Harry Potter. At one point, Pete couldn’t resist taking his out in a night club! “We in the club, that place is hoppin’….the Cristal is poppin….a girl comes up to me, she goes ‘what’s in your pants?’ And I say, that’s my weird little flute.” After Pete declared he keeps his in a “tiny a– case and I know what one is mine since I got stickers all over the place,” it turned out the guys were just standing in a music store and making a whole lot of noise.

This week’s Saturday Night Live[11] was hosted by Carey Mulligan[12], 35, with musical guest Kid Cudi, 37. The rapper expressed his excitement on social media after he was confirmed to appear, retweeting SNL‘s March 16th Twitter post with a crying emoji along with one that said “soon, soon, soon.” He added, “If u know me, u know snl is a huge dream of mine. This is huge. Cannot friggin wait!” On the day of the show, he shared a photo of Carey in rehearsal adding, “Tonight baby!”

Season 46 has been chock full of incredible music guests, kicking off with Megan The Stallion[13] in September! The “Body” rapper slayed as she performed her song “Savage,” including a powerful message[14] in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Nick Jonas, St. Vincent, and more. “We need to protect our Black women. And love our Black women. Because at the end of the day we need our Black women,” she said on stage during her performance. “At the end of the day, we’re tired of seeing hashtags about Black men,” she also declared, as the words “Protect Black Women” projected on a screen behind her. Other musical guests have included St. Vincent, Nick Jonas[15], Justin Bieber[16], and Dua Lipa.

After a series of unprecedented SNL At Home shows[18] in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the series returned to it’s Studio 8H home in New York City last September. With restrictions still in place, show runner Lorne Michaels noted there would be a different approach behind the scenes. “Will the hosts function in the same way where they’ll be there for the whole week?
Yes. It will also be smaller. I don’t think we’ll go in 25 minutes or 30 minutes long at dress rehearsal. We’ll be tighter. We’ll try to mount fewer things, only because of the number of people who can be in the studio — the cast have to leave before stagehands can enter, those kinds of problems,” he explained to Vulture.

Chloe Fineman’s Britney Applauds Lil Nas X For Giving God An ‘Equal Opportunity’ Lap Dance On ‘SNL’

Chloe Fineman’s Britney Applauds Lil Nas X For Giving God An ‘Equal Opportunity’ Lap Dance On ‘SNL’

Chloe’s Britney put Chris Redd’s ‘Lil Nas X,’ Pepe Le Pew, and Pete Davidson’s ‘Matt Gaetz’ in the hot seat for this hilarious cold open!

Chloe Fineman‘s Britney Spears is quickly becoming a Saturday Night Live[1] favorite! This week’s installment of her spoof talk show included several high profile guests, including Chris Redd‘s Lil Nas X, Pete Davidson‘s Matt Gaetz, Kate McKinnon‘s Pepe Le Pew and, allegedly, God himself! Before getting to the good stuff, however, the pop star wanted to clear up one rumor that’s been floating around in the news this week: that she doesn’t write her own Instagram captions.

Chloe’s Brit quickly welcomed Chris’ Lil Nas X out, where she got to a hot topic of his own: his new Nike show that allegedly contains a questionable ingredient. “I want to start with your new Satan shoes. Is it true they’re made with human blood?” she pondered, before also getting to his latest music video. “People are also freaking out about your new music video where you go to hell and twerk on the devil. Why are they so upset?”

After responding that he’s just a “typical gay country entrepreneur,” Chloe’s Brit wanted to know if he would give a lap dance to God to just, “even things out.” Without hesitation, Chris’ Lil Nas X showed off his dance moves on an actor playing God. “I just want to remind people was not the real God. That was just my friend Gary,” he reasoned.

Daniel Kaluuya[5], 32, hosted Saturday Night Live[6] and Grammy winner St. Vincent[7], 38, was scheduled to perform performed. The ex-girlfriend of Kristen Stewart and Cara Delevingne marked her second appearance on the NBC sketch show, also performing at Studio 8H back in 2014. This marks her first appearance on the show since earning her second Grammy alongside longtime Taylor Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff in 2019, which was for “Masseducation” in the Best Rock Song category.

Season 46 of SNL kicked off strong with its political segments, with the one-and-only Jim Carrey[8] playing Joe Biden[9] for the first few episodes of the season! Unfortunately for fans, the Canadian-born actor was only meant to appear for a limited amount of episodes[10]. “Though my term was only meant to be 6 weeks,I was thrilled to be elected as your SNL President…comedy’s highest call of duty,” Jim tweeted after it was announced he wouldn’t continue to appear on the season. “I would love to go forward knowing that Biden was the victor because I nailed that shit. But I am just one in a long line of proud, fighting SNL Bidens!” he added.

SNL alum Maya Rudolph[11] has also been at the forefront as Vice President Kamala Harris, absolutely nailing her impression (right down to the Converse chuck sneakers). Maya even appeared as host for the hilarious March 27 episode, where Martin Short guest-starred as Kamala’s husband[12], Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.

Other highlights from the star-studded season include hosts Adele[13], Bridgerton‘s Regé-Jean Page[14] and Schitts Creek star Dan Levy, as well as musical guests Nick Jonas, Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Thee Stallion! The 46th season of the series saw SNL‘s return to its Studio 8H home at NBC in New York City after a trio of At-Home shows due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Daniel Kaluuya Says He’s ‘What The Royal Family Worried’ Meghan’s Baby ‘Would Look Like’ On ‘SNL’

Daniel Kaluuya made his ‘SNL’ debut on April 3, opening the show with a poignant conversation about racism.

Daniel Kaluuya[1], 32, made his Saturday Night Live[2] debut on April 3! The Oscar nominee was scheduled to appear alongside returning performer, Grammy winner St. Vincent[3], 38. Following the cold open, Daniel made made a poignant statement in his opening monologue. “I’m sure you can hear the accent,” The British-born actor said. “‘Oh no, he’s not Black. He’s British.’ Let reassure you that I am Black and I’m British. Basically, I’m what the Royal Family was worried the baby would look like,” he quipped — referencing Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son Archie, 1.

“People ask me what’s worse: British racism or American racism?” Daniel — clad in a navy blue outfit with bright orange piping — went on. “Let put it this way: British racism is so bad, white people left. They wanted to be free to create their own racisms. So that’s why invaded Australia, South Africa — and Boston,” he joked. He also shared a bit about his own family, who hails from  Uganda. “My dad is one of 22 kids and my dad is one of 49…they say Black don’t crack, but condoms do,” he also joked, noting his aunt was in the audience.

The appearance was a huge deal for Daniel, who just scored his second Oscar nomination[6] in the Best Supporting Actor category for Judas and the Black Messiah. In the film, Daniel plays the late Fredrick Allen Hampton, who was an activist who came to prominence as the chairman of the Illinois chapter of the Black Panther Party. After being identified as a radical threat by the FBI, he was assassinated. “Chairman Fred Hampton was a light, a beacon of a being who would illuminate all he touched with his incredible message. With the ability to command any stage and robbed of his opportunity to captivate a global audience,” the British born actor said to CNN in reaction to the nomination. “Today, I am humbled to be nominated for portraying a man whose principles I deeply respect and for guiding me to walk in his footsteps,” he went on.

“I became a vessel for Chairman Fred’s spirit at a time when we need his rally cry for equality and justice more than ever. I commend my fellow nominees for their impressive work. To be seen and celebrated by my peers in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences is beautifully humbling and I am deeply grateful,” he added, referencing the historic Black Lives Matter movement. He also earned a Best Actor nod in 2018 for Jordan Peele‘s Get Out.[7][8]

Adam Levine Pops Up On ‘SNL’ For Surprise Performance Of ‘Same Guy’ With Jack Harlow

Adam Levine surprised ‘SNL’ fans with an unexpected appearance! The superstar sounded amazing performing alongside Jack Harlow.

Jack Harlow[1], 23, slayed his Saturday Night Live[2] debut on March 27 — and he had one very special guest: Adam Levine[3], 42! The Maroon 5 singer appears on Jack’s debut studio album Thats What They All Say on the track “Same Guy,” which they performed together at Studio 8H. Jack, wearing a pink satin button down, diamond chain and white t-shirt, started his low key performance solo as Adam popped out for his verse.

“I can’t keep lettin’ s— slide (Can’t keep lettin’ s— slide)/Thought that I would change, but I’m the same guy,” Adam — wearing an army green jacket and black sweatpants — crooned. “Blamed it on my youth, but I know I’ve had time (Had time)/Now when it comes to you and I (Ooh), all that I ever did was tell lies/Am I gon’ keep this up ’til I die? (Up ’til I die),” he duetted alongside Jack. Adam also sported a hard-to-get pair of Dior’s Air Jordan collaborations[8], which have retailed for up to $ 20K on eBay.

Twitter erupted in excitement with Adam’s surprise appearance! “Adam Levine breaking into this song on SNL like Andy adding his vocals to Hunters song in the Dinner Party. No one asked, it’s just happens. #SNL #theoffice #dinnerparty,” one person tweeted. “adam levine literally just appearing on snl out of thin air,” another wrote, while other fans said his vocals were “fire.” While many were thrilled to see the singer, some were curious about his choice to wear quarantine attire and longer hair on stage. “Good on Adam Levine for showing up during the musical guest segment of SNL still apparently rocking a do-it-yourself pandemic haircut,” another wrote.

Adam Levine isn’t the only big name on Jack’s debut album, which also includes features by rappers Lil Wayne, Lil Baby, late R&B star Static Major, and, of course, Chris Brown. Chris and Jack teamed up for the sexy R&B tune “Already Best Friends,”[16] which they dropped a video for on March 11. In the video, the pair party it up in Mexico surrounding by women as they sing about their newfound friendship and menage-a-trois.

The Maya Rudolph[17] episode was full of surprises, with Martin Short appearing as Kamala Harris‘ husband Doug Emhoff[18] for a hilarious Passover Seder sketch[19]. In the bit, Martin’s Doug unfortunately gets attacked by Joe Biden’s dog Major — and later plants a big kiss on Kamala’s Maya. The hilarious episode also included cameos by Tina Fey, Kristen Wiig and Rachel Dratch.
