Green travel list speculation: The 22 places likely to be on the green list from mid-July

Government ministers introduced the green travel list as part of their “traffic light” holiday plans this year. Green follows red and amber and allows people to embark on a holiday or visit families under less restrictive Covid measures. Countries may only drift to the green list if they meet select criteria, however, and one expert believes 22 have done just that.

Which countries could go to the green list in July?

The Government only recently updated its green list to include sun-soaked locations such as Malta and the Spanish islands.

Ministers also included others such as Antarctica and Caribbean islands for those hoping to get out of Europe.

Officials only moved the destinations after they met four criteria that show they can effectively handle imported Brits.

The Government has not yet confirmed which countries it intends to add in the next month.

Ministers currently deliberate new green list destinations once a month.

The last additions came on June 24, announced by Transport Secretary Grant Shapps.

While Mr Shapps announced the Government’s decision then, they didn’t debut on the list until June 30.

Escape from Tarkov wipe date: Speculation mounts that Tarkov Wipe is coming soon

Is an Escape from Tarkov wipe being planned for this week? This is the question that many fans are asking as speculation continues to mount in June.

There have been no definitive announcements from the team regarding the subject this week, meaning that, officially, nothing is scheduled to happen.

An earlier message from developers Battlestate revealed that “Wipe is not planned right now; we don’t plan to do it in the next weeks or months.”

This was shared during a podcast in May, meaning that it has now been over a month since it was released and could therefore leave the door open for the next Tarkov wipe to drop before the end of June.

And there’s plenty of speculation among gamers that something is being planned for the popular shooter.

Some of this is connected to the news that a special discount sale is launching this weekend, which would reduce the price of the game.

Events such as these have been tied to Tarkov Wipes in the past, leading to fans preparing for some kind of an announcement.

Fans have been sharing their own ideas on what might be planned next for Escape from Tarko on social media platforms like Reddit.

Shawn_NYC posted their own theory on what’s coming next, explaining: “The sale points to a patch and wipe Sunday or Monday. Here’s why:

“Business-wise, it’s not smart to run a sale on wipe day. Tarkov gets the most free publicity during a wipe event which leads to impulse purchases for customers.

“You want to charge full price for impulse purchases. There is a sale going on Friday and Saturday.

“Sales are generally aimed at customers who are sitting on the fence and need an incentive to jump in. So business-sense would be to run a sale before the wipe to give the fence-sitters a reason to buy on Friday and Saturday.

“Going by the previous 3 they’ve all been on Thursdays. Even if they have staff for the weekend I still doubt they’d want to push it through on a Friday. Might as well wait 3 days and do it Monday when you have the full week.”

But until we hear more from Battlestate Games on the subject, all of this remains speculation.

Traditionally, Escape from Tarkov character wipe includes losing levels and trader rep, as well as stash progress.

And there is usually a new update or small patch released that includes some important changes to the game, including new content and weapon rebalancing.

So expect plenty more chatter from fans until we hear what is being planned for the next Escape from Tarkov wipe.

Kylian Mbappe 'asks about Premier League' amid Liverpool transfer speculation

Kylian Mbappe has been asking PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino about the Premier League and life in England amid speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool.

Mbappe is hoping to be fit to face Manchester City in Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final after suffering a thigh problem in Paris-Saint Germain’s win over Metz on Saturday.

The 22-year-old has previously been linked with interest from City – but is more commonly touted as a target for Real Madrid and Liverpool with his PSG contract set to expire next summer.

And Pochettino has revealed that while he converses with his star man in French, Spanish and English, Mbappe prefers to speak to him in the latter as he looks to master the language.

“Kylian loves football, he loves to talk about football,” the former Tottenham and Southampton boss told The Guardian . “He asks about England – how is the game, the mentality and the culture there?

“He’s only 22 but very mature, confident in his talent and open. He can speak French, of course, but also perfect English and Spanish.

“I speak in English and Spanish with him – more English than Spanish. I said to him the other day: ‘I need to practise my French with you, to improve,’ and he said: ‘Sure, but it’s better for me to talk in English.’ He loves to practise different languages.”

Pochettino grew up in Spanish-speaking Argentina – so the fact Mbappe prefers to talk to his manager in English could speak volumes as to whether the France star sees his future in the Premier League or La Liga.

He has been long been linked with a move to Madrid, although the Spanish club’s current financial problems could make that difficult.

Mbappe has also previously admitted his admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool – although finances could similarly be a problem, with the club’s latest accounts revealing pre-tax losses of £46million to the end of May last year.

PSG are of course hoping to tie the World Cup winner down to a new deal, having beaten to Madrid to his signature when he bought him from Monaco for £130m in 2018.

Zidane responds to Juventus speculation as Real Madrid contract runs down

Zinedine Zidane has refused to distance himself from a move to Juventus[1] as his Real Madrid[2] contract winds down.

The Frenchman is currently in his second stint in charge of Los Blancos following a trophy-laden first period.

Success has not come as easily this time round however and Madrid are under pressure domestically.

Zidane’s contract is up at the end of the season and there has been no movement yet on an extension.

He has been linked with a switch to the dugout in Turin, where Andrea Pirlo too is under pressure.

Zidane played for Juventus for five years before making a world record move to the Bernabeu in 2001.

He didn’t hide his love for the club and the country when quizzed on his future as he keeps his options open.

“Italy is always in my heart and Juventus has always been important to me,” he told reporters.

“Coming back? I don’t know (laughs). I’m here at Real Madrid now. Let’s see.”

A move to the Allianz Stadium could also see him reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo[3], should the Portuguese star remain at the club.

The pair teamed up to win a hat-trick of Champions League titles when they were both at Madrid.

Zidane’s side remain in contention for this year’s competition and took control of their quarter-final with Liverpool[4] thanks to a 3-1 win.

The Spanish side will head to Anfield for the return leg next week but are now in pole position to make the last four.

“We haven’t won anything,” Zidane said at full time. “We’re happy with what we’re doing.

“What the players are doing is tremendous considering the difficulties we’ve had.”

Piers Morgan hits back at GMB exit speculation 'I wasn’t fired by ITV'

Piers Morgan, 55, has spoken out again about his dramatic exit from Good Morning Britain after he clarified he “wasn’t fired”. The presenter had some harsh words for one of his former colleagues on Twitter earlier this evening.
ITV confirmed Piers left his role on Good Morning Britain last Tuesday evening.

However, since the news was announced, some have been speculating he may have been fired.

Piers took to Twitter once again tonight to defend himself in response to a tweet from his former CNN colleague Ana Navarro-Cárdenas.

She wrote on March 9: “If no other change comes out of the #OprahMeghanHarry interview, that it lead (sic) to @piersmorgan getting fired again from yet another job, seems like a good outcome for the benefit of humanity”.

In response to her interview with Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey, which aired on Sunday evening in the US, Piers had voiced his opinion.

On Monday’s show, he opened up about how he didn’t believe her when she spoke about her reasons for leaving the Royal Family and her own mental health.

His comments sparked more than 41,000 complaints to Ofcom over his handling of the situation as well as condemnation from mental health charities.

Piers was also challenged by GMB’s weatherman Alex Beresford on the show on Tuesday Morning who asked why he disliked Meghan so much.

Following the criticism, Piers walked off the GMB set, which led Alex to say: “Do you know what? That’s pathetic.

Return to Real? Ronaldo ‘in discussions with former club FOR MONTHS’ as speculation mounts after latest Juve flop in Europe

Cristiano Ronaldo has been in discussions with Real Madrid for months regarding a potential return to the club, according to reports in Spain, as speculation mounts over where the star will be playing next season.

Ronaldo and his Juventus team suffered more disappointment in the Champions League this week as they crashed out to unfancied Porto on away goals.

Ronaldo KO: Woe for Cristiano as Juventus crash out of the Champions League after agonizing extra-time away-goals defeat to Porto

It was the latest blow to Ronaldo’s hopes of firing the team he joined in 2018 to European glory, with the Turin giants failing to go beyond the quarterfinal stage of the competition in each of the three seasons that five-time Champions League winner Ronaldo has been at the club.

Following their latest disappointment – and with Andrea Pirlo’s team staring at an uphill battle to retain the Serie A title they have won for the past nine seasons – talk has intensified that Juve’s 36-year-old Portuguese icon could be on his way out despite having one year remaining on his contract.

Reports have indicated that Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has already spoken to former club Real Madrid about a potential return for the forward, who departed in 2018 as Los Blancos’ all-time top scorer with 450 goals in 438 appearances after nine years in the Spanish capital.

According to fresh claims from Spanish outlet AS, those discussions between Ronaldo’s team and Real “have been ongoing for several months.”

The outlet also states that Ronaldo’s biggest wish is to return to the club where he became a bona fide megastar and won four of his five Ballon d’Or crowns.

Enduring more misery with Juve last week, Ronaldo failed to find the net in either of the two legs against Porto, although he has top-scored for the Old Lady in Serie A this season with 20 goals in 22 games.

Reports in Italy claim that Juve would need a fee of at least €29 million ($ 34.6 million) to avoid a capital loss from the more than €100 million outlay they made to bring Ronaldo to Turin three years ago.

Ronaldo left Real apparently disgruntled at no longer being seen as indispensable by club president Florentino Perez.

There were also rumblings of pay issues, while Ronaldo was burned by a run-in with the Spanish tax authorities which left him having to pay a fine of around €20 million.

However, bridges were not burned completely, and Ronaldo was pictured enjoying special guest status in a box at the Bernabeu to watch the El Clasico clash with Barcelona in March 2020.

Like Juventus, Real currently appear to be in a stage of flux under manager Zinedine Zidane. They remain in the Champions League, holding a 1-0 lead ahead of their last-16 second leg with Atalanta next week, although they are eight points adrift of city rivals Atletico in the race to retain the La Liga title they won last season.

Ronaldo himself showed little sign of the speculation surrounding him as he took to Instagram on Saturday while the Juve team prepare for their meeting with Cagliari on Sunday.

“More important than the number of falls you take in life, is how fast and how strong you get back on your feet…,” the star wrote to his almost 270 million followers.

“True champions never break! Our focus is already in Cagliari, in the Serie A struggle, in the Italian Cup final and in everything that we can still achieve this season.

“It’s true that the past belongs in museums (I should say!), but fortunately, football has memory… and so do I!

“History can’t be deleted, it’s written every single day with resilience, team spirit, persistence and lots of hard work. And those who don’t understand this, will never achieve glory and success.”

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responds to Edinson Cavani summer transfer speculation

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims no decision has been made on the future of Edinson Cavani as of yet, amid reports that he has held talks with Boca Juniors. The striker is said to be feeling unsettled in Manchester, something that his father Luis has detailed in a surprise interview in South America in which he outlined his son’s plans to quit Old Trafford.
Cavani has endured a stop-start campaign in England following his arrival on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer amid a host of injury problems.

But his manager Solskjaer is adamant his professionalism shouldn’t be questioned, even if the Uruguayan is considering his options.

The seasoned veteran is now in the final months of his contract but United do have the option to extend his stay by a further year.

“Edinson is fully focussed on being available,” Solskjaer said ahead of the Europa League clash with AC Milan. “He is proud to play for Man Utd. No decision been made for next season.

“I can’t comment on what has been said. I can only say that we are very pleased with Edinson [Cavani] when he is here. Day in and day out.

The ban is said to have made Cavani uncomfortable with living in England while being away from his family has also taken its toll.

His father added: “We are very anxious. We have always been to visit him, he has been in very beautiful places where people have received him very well.

“He has made himself loved, he has made many friends, but today he does not feel comfortable where he is.

“He has been thinking for more than two years that he wants to be closer to his family and that is the reason why I think Edi is going to end up playing for a team from here in South America.

“I know that he would like to play and be close to his country so that we could be closer to him.”
