Norwegian krone weakens after stock market fall

The Norwegian krone is at its weakest since December after the sharp fall on the stock exchanges on Monday.

“There are several factors that came into play at the same time,” interest rate and currency strategist Nils Kristian Knudsen in Handelsbanken told the newspaper Dagens Næringsliv.

“It is obvious to point out the sharp falls on the stock exchange,” he said, adding that there was also a large fall in oil prices on Monday. Together with uncertainty about future developments, this is a bad combination for the Norwegian krone.

Knudsen says that the krone has weakened over many years. This is good news for Norwegian export-oriented industry. He adds that it is important to see it in context – if the underlying markets become weaker, a weaker krone exchange rate will help to dampen that effect.

A weaker krone also means that imports become more expensive.

On Tuesday, both the oil price and the main index rose from the start of trading on the Oslo Stock Exchange.

The @PS5UKStock Twitter posted: “News: GAME will deliver the next #PS5 online batch by 30th July.

“That suggests a drop on 21-22 July however, since May they have restocked 3x within one-week of a previous restock meaning, there is even a chance today.

“We will be watching.”

The account went on to add: “Normally I wouldn’t suggest such an early drop and instead, suggest GAME might actually end up changing the date shown today. However, I can’t ignore the facts.”

For its next PS5 restock, GAME has a range of bundles available to purchase as well as standalone PS5 Disc and Digital consoles.

The cheapest PS5 Digital bundle costs £389.98 and includes a PlayStation 5 Digital console as well as a T-shirt and hat.

Missed out on the Amazon PS5 restock today? Another ‘huge’ stock drop could happen soon

And this new tact seemed to have done the trick, with the latest Amazon UK restock sticking around for plenty of time.

Tweeting about the latest Amazon PS5 restock, the @UKPS5Notify Twitter earlier this morning posted: “Still in stock nearly 20 minutes later”.

It had been thought the PS5 Digital console would become available to buy around the same time as the PS5 Disc console at Amazon UK today.

But, at the time of writing, the PS5 Digital console hasn’t become available to buy just yet today.

The @PS5UKStock Twitter posted: “We’re still waiting on Digital everyone. It’s unusual to be this late but the Disc drop was unusually long. Digital has dropped across Europe, which is also a good sign it is coming.

“I’m here checking though, stay tuned.”

PS5 UK stock ballot: New way to buy a PlayStation 5 has just arrived

Box.co.uk has confirmed it will be hosting a PS5 stock ballot this week for its customers in the UK.

July has been an average month for PlayStation 5 restocks, with Argos, Game and Smyths hosting sales events online and in-store.

But no UK retailers have been able to keep up with demand, and this has left gamers waiting around for the next opportunity.

And the good news is that another restock event will be hosted this week that will eliminate some of the headaches of being stuck in a digital queue.

Box.co.uk will be hosting a PS5 stock ballot, meaning that it won’t be a first-come-first-served system.

Instead, gamers will be able to sign up using an email address to have a chance at buying a console this week.

Much like how Box ran its Xbox Series X and S ballots, gamers can register their email address in the new PS5 Ballot. All emails collected will be entered into a ballot whereby lucky entrants will receive an invitation to purchase a PlayStation5 Bundle.

And Box has confirmed that these will be the items included in each bundle available from the site:

  • PlayStation 5 Disc Edition Console
  • An extra DualSense Wireless controller
  • Logitech G923 Racing Wheel
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart

Unfortunately for those who are not interested in the other items included, the Box PS5 bundle is very expensive.

Costing a whopping 849.99, console hunters not looking to purchase a Steering Wheel will have to decide whether they can resell it afterwards.

And Box.co.uk isn’t the only UK retailer which is expected to offer another PS5 restock this month.

Amazon was the latest to drop a shipment of PlayStation 5s and will be followed by others like Argos and BT.

And according to the @PS5Instant account, the PS5 Digital console could become available to buy at Amazon UK on a separate date.

That’s the bad news. The good news is the stock tracker said the latest Amazon shipment is “huge”, which made it difficult to ship it all at once.

The @PS5Instant Twitter posted: “Didn’t manage to get a #PS5? don’t worry. #PS5Stock on the way soon.

“Amazon will drop Digital at another date as this shipment was huge ~ difficult to ship so much at once”.

Elsewhere, besides the Amazon PS5 restock other UK retailers could be opening orders for the PlayStation 5 once again this week.

PS5 UK stock news: Dates and times for Smyths and Very restock this week

This turned out to be the case, with John Lewis releasing more PS5 stock to buy on Tuesday July 13.

These predictions were given at the start of the week, with @PS5UKStock saying it was based on previous stock drop patterns.

The account tweeted: “These are predictions based on drop patterns and knowledge of retailers. Don’t expect much from ASDA and John Lewis.”

The @PS5UKStock also said Amazon are expected to get more PS5 stock, on either Tuesday July 13 and July 14 between 8am and 10am.

Amazon unlike other retailers only sells the PS5 Disc and PS5 Digital consoles as standalone purchases.

Amazon PS5 restock tomorrow? Start time for next PlayStation 5 stock drop

Amazon PS5 stock could become available to buy once again in the UK soon. The @PS5UKStock Twitter account has given their predictions for the week ahead about which retailers could be getting more PlayStation 5 stock. And according to the PS5 stock tracker Amazon could be getting more PS5 stock to buy in the next few days.

Amazon is predicted to be getting more PS5 UK stock on either Tuesday July 13 or Wednesday July 15 between 8am and 10am.

Elsewhere ASDA and Very could also be getting more PS5 stock on either Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

ASDA are expected to be getting more PS5 stock between 8am and 9am, with Very predicted to get a restock between 9am and 10am.

While Smyths Toys could be getting a PS5 restock between Wednesday July 14 and Friday July 16 with a restock between 8am and 9am.

Finally John Lewis could be getting a PS5 restock on either Tuesday July 13 or Thursday July 15 at 7am.

However, as the @PS5UKStock account emphasised these are predicted restock times and dates based on previous patterns.

The PS5 stock tracker account posted: “These are predictions based on drop patterns and knowledge of retailers.

“Don’t expect much from ASDA and John Lewis.”

Past Amazon UK PS5 restocks have been for PS5 Digital and PS5 Disc standalone consoles – so no bundles.

The PS5 Digital is priced at £359.99 at Amazon UK with the PS5 Disc costing £449.99.

With past Amazon PS5 restocks gamers have had trouble adding the in-demand console to their shopping basket when new stock became available to buy, or getting error messages.

If you’re faced with a similar situation during the next PS5 restock at Amazon UK then there’s a little trick you can do to help.

With previous restocks if you add the PS5 to your Amazon wishlist, and then move the item to your basket from your wishlist it has been known to get round any technical issues users have faced.

The rumoured Amazon UK PS5 restock comes after another week of multiple PS5 restocks for gamers in Blighty.

Last week the PS5 became available to buy once again at online stores such as ShopTo, Scan and Studio.

However, the pick of the bunch were the PS5 restocks that became available at both Argos and GAME.

These two retailers have been the best places to purchase a PS5 in the UK in 2021, with restocks that tend to last longer than those from other fellow retailers.

Robert Wilkos: 7 Myths About Stock Brokers

-Keyport Venture Advisors-

Stockbrokers have developed a certain reputation throughout the years

STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, UNITED STATES, July 12, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ — Stockbrokers have developed a certain reputation throughout the years. For instance, they’re all sharp-dressed, smooth-talking individuals, right? They’re all worth millions, right? Stockbrokers have gained these as their reputation, but this isn’t necessarily true for every stockbroker. Robert Wilkos would like to help put an end to some of these stigmas and help you understand who stockbrokers really are.1. All Wear Suits

While you see the more recognized stockbrokers walking down Wall Street in suits, this isn’t true for every individual. Yes, many stockbrokers dress to the nines at all times. It gives the appearance of wealth, even if the stockbroker hasn’t quite made it yet. However, you may work with a broker who dresses down and has a more laid-back appearance. I’ve known a few throughout my time working with investments.

  1. Big-Firm Brokers Are More Trustworthy

Robert Wilkos says just because a broker is with a large firm doesn’t mean he’s successful and honest. Being with a large firm isn’t a reflection of his character or success. You’ll find stockbrokers who take advantage of people and are with big firms, small firms or are independents.

  1. Fancy Title Means Success

Some stockbrokers have earned their mark with their company for the right reasons. Some of have climbed the ladder legitimately because of hard work, dedication, and knowledge. However, this isn’t the case for every broker out there.

  1. Stockbrokers All Sell the Same Stocks

Robert Wilkos explains that you would naturally assume that any stockbroker can sell you any type of investment you want. However, this isn’t the case. While a stockbroker may be able to help you access and invest in any stock, they don’t always do that. A broker may only sell you a stock that pays the highest commission because they’re looking out for themselves first and not you.

  1. Brokers Give Financial Advice

A stockbroker isn’t the same thing as a financial advisor. A stockbroker is just there to help you invest in the stock market, private equity, or other types of investment. They aren’t there to give you financial advice and help you plan for your future or retirement.

  1. Brokers Only Deal With the Incredibly Wealthy

You may see stockbrokers on TV and in magazines who are working with a debonair man. This isn’t always the case in real life. Many middle-classed individuals invest in the stock market, and brokers work with these individuals as well. The images portrayed are for advertising purposes. You see a wealthy individual, and you’ll automatically put yourself in their place.

  1. All Brokers Are All Millionaires

This isn’t the case for everyone. Many do make millions. However, some make one, or possibly several, bad investments and actually lose quite a deal of money.

Robert Wilkos knows that stockbrokers aren’t always what you see advertised. They work hard to get where they are, often more than a standard 40-hour workweek. Not all of them sport $ 2,000 suits and drive a Mercedes. And not all of them are successful at what they do.
