Curtains for Starmer: Angela Rayner tipped to take over as Keir faces crunch election

Keir Starmer slams ‘pathetic’ border policy

With the pressure rising over Sir Keir’s leadership, former MEP Patrick O’Flynn has claimed even the Labour man’s most staunch defenders are now “close to giving up”. After a shocking electoral performance in May, the former SDP and Ukip MEP has tipped deputy leader Angela Rayner to take over the reins from Sir Keir. Many from the left of the Labour Party have already called for Sir Keir to be replaced by his number two ahead of a crunch by-election in Batley and Spen.

Amid these calls, Mr O’Flynn claimed Ms Rayner has the identity to give the party direction after becoming lost under the current leader.

Writing for the Spectator, Mr O’Flynn said: “As Keir Starmer’s re-run of the great Change UK centrist dad experiment sinks deeper into political quicksand, the importance of a party leader being able to project a compelling personality becomes ever more obvious.”

The Labour party lost eight council seats and a further 327 councillors in what was a horrendous electoral loss in May.

The party also lost a key stronghold seat of Hartlepool which has been a Labour seat since 1964.

In a further blow to Sir Keir, Labour only managed 622 votes in the Chesham and Amersham by-election as the Lib Dems took a seat from the Tories.

Amid these poor performances, Mr O’Flynn insisted the Labour party needs a leader who can revitalise the party and stop its impending doom.

He added: “Labour is in dire need of a polarising figure who can at least give it a basic identity and a sense of mission rather than the bland non-presence with which it is currently saddled.

“And the persona of bovver boot-wearing Aggro Angie could be just the ticket.

“Whatever you think of her, the woman knows how to identify a political bruise and then keep punching it.

“A look at her social media output also reveals her innate talent for expressing comprehensible opinions in direct language, a trait she shares with the likes of Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage.

“Far more than Starmer’s, her politics is also rooted in workplace struggle, with basic priorities of winning better pay and conditions for shop floor staff cropping up again and again as befits her own life story as an early school-leaver and former care sector worker.”

Despite an internal battle post the local elections, Ms Rayner was subsequently appointed as Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Shadow Secretary of State for the Future of Work.

Following the poor election performance in Chesham and Amersham, Sir Keir was forced to make further internal changes.

Former adviser Morgan McSweeney, who helped run Sir Keir leadership campaign, will now be moved to a new role.

This came just a day after two senior communications officers, Ben Nunn and Paul Ovenden, were also moved by Sir Keir.

One frontbench source said: “It’s just shocking. It just goes from bad to worse really, everyone is so down.

“You’ve got people now with majorities of 2,000-3,000 who think they’re toast. Starmer’s office is dysfunctional.”

Amid the internal party chaos, a recent poll from Savanta ComRes has found the party has fallen four percent from the week ending June 13.

In the poll conducted between June 18-20, the Tory party has risen by three percent and takes their lead over Labour to 14 points.

According to a Survation poll ahead of the Batley and Spen by-election, the Labour Party is expected to receive 41 percent of the votes and lose the seat.

Tory candidate, Ryan Stephenson is set to win with 47 percent in the poll conducted between June -17.

Bloodborne Remastered PS5 release date latest: Expanded edition tipped for 2021 launch

New details have emerged about a potential Bloodborne Remastered game coming to PS5.

The latest rumours suggest Bloodborne Remastered will have a late 2021 release date on PlayStation 5.

That’s according to a new leak on French Twitter feed SoulsHunt, which has a great track record when it comes to upcoming reveals.

Based on the latest information, Bloodborne Remastered will launch on PS5 first, before making its way to PC.

Interestingly, the game isn’t said to be in development at FromSoftware or Bluepoint Games.

As a reminder, BluePoint is responsible for the excellent PS5 port of Demon’s Souls, which launched alongside the console last year.

The remaster is, however, said to be ambitious, which means it should contain a wealth of visual improvements, as well as an improved frame-rate.

Fans have been clamouring for a 60 frames-per-second update for a long time, so hopefully this will satisfy them.

There are even rumours that Bloodborne Remastered will contain additional content on the PlayStation 5.

Fans of Bloodborne have discovered plenty of cut content since the game launched back in 2015.

As seen on YouTube channels like VaatiVidya, Bloodborne fans have uncovered everything from cut monsters and boss fights, to new lines of dialogue and areas to explore.

While it would great to see some of this content included in a Director’s Cut version of the game, brand new content would also be welcome.

As long as it contributes something worthwhile to the Bloodborne lore, it’s all good.

Even if the Bloodborne Remastered rumours turn out to be false, FromSoftware fans have Elden Ring to look forward to.

The open-world FromSoftware game has a January 2022 release date on PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

Elden Ring is a fantasy adventure collaboration between From Software’s Hidetaka Miyazaki and Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin.

“Unparalleled adventure awaits in Elden Ring, the next epic fantasy title created by From Software, Inc. and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc,” reads the official description.

“Elden Ring is From Software’s largest game to-date and is set in a sprawling realm steeped in a rich and bloody history crafted by Hidetaka Miyazaki – creator of the influential and critically acclaimed DARK SOULS video game series; and George R.R. Martin – author of The New York Times best-selling fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire.”

The game features horseback combat, giant bosses and the same brutal Dark Souls-inspired action.

Bitcoin price tipped to hit '$220K' as China shutdown sees miners 'airlift' en masse to US

Yesterday, China shut down most of its bitcoin mining operations creating panic in cryptocurrency markets as the hash rate dropped and operators sold assets to finance their move to the US. Many are relocating to Texas, with state governor Greg Abbott tweeting his support to facilitate mining operations there. Mr Abbott tweeted: “Blockchain is a booming industry that Texas needs to be involved in.”

The relocation of China’s influential mining operators to the US will allow American states to capitalise on the inflow of Chinese and offer renewable incentives, allowing the US to grasp the digital economy manifested by bitcoin.

Referring to the move by China bitcoin pioneer Max Keiser, speaking to Express.co.uk, said: “China doesn’t have the moral character to mine bitcoin.

“America and El Salvador do.

“The difficulty adjustment has decreased to accommodate the transference of mining out of China and will increase when the move is completed.

“I’m keeping my $ 220,000 BTC price target for 2021.”

Beijing announced it was shutting down Chinese based mining operations en masse on Sunday night, totalling an 8GW electricity load.

CNBC Beijing Bureau Chief Eunice Yoon today tweeted about one Chinese mining operation that was “airlifting” its equipment to the US.

Today she tweeted: “China logistics firm in Guangzhou confirms to CNBC that its airlifting 3,000kg (6,600lbs) of bitcoin mining machines to Maryland, USA.

“This is contributing a lot to bitcoin’s weakness right now, which will pass.”

George said that China’s motivation behind shutting down its bitcoin miners was that “it could just be a diversion to present to the world stage, making China look like they are doing something about Environment Social Governance standards.

“I believe they still want bitcoin to thrive and exist in China in some capacity.

“Also maybe they want the country to focus more on their own digital yuan and upcoming smart contract chain.”

The news comes as Canadian mining firm Bitfarms has been listed today on the Nasdaq in Wall Street.

Their mining operations in Canada use renewable hydroelectricity.

Bitfarms was listed today on the Nasdaq, with the ticker $ BITF.

England tipped for Euro 2020 glory by FIFA 21 AND Football Manager

England football fans have been given fresh hope of a UEFA Euro 2020 victory.

With the tournament kicking off in full on June 11, football fans have been having fun predicting the outcome of the competition.

This includes YouTube star Vizeh, who has simulated the competition on both FIFA 21 and Football Manager 2021.

The YouTuber simulated the Euro 2020 tournament ten times in FIFA 21, and 100 times in Football Manager 2021.

And it’s good news for England fans, because the Three Lions were among the biggest winners of the experiment.

In the FIFA 21 simulation, England are tied with France with two tournament wins each.

Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Portugal, Italy and Spain all come away with one tournament victory, which seems fairly realistic.

England didn’t fare quite as well in Football Manager 2021, finishing with 14 tournament wins compared to 21 for France.

Spain and Portugal were the only other teams to hit double digits with the Football Manager 2021 simulation, so it’s still a positive sign for the Three Lions.

Remarkably, Poland won the tournament four times in the Football Manager 2021 simulation, while Scotland won it once!

Lukaku, Ronaldo and Mbappe were tied with the most Golden Boot victories, followed by Harry Kane, Alexander Isak, Eden Hazard and Italy forward Ciro Immobile.

You can check out the breakdown for each simulation in the videos above and below.

Speaking of FIFA 21, EA Sports recently launched the Festival of Futball in time for the UEFA Euro 2020 Championship.

“From brand new special Player Item types to a variety of themed Squad Building Challenges and Objectives, get into the festival spirit this summer in FUT,” reads the official description.

“We are kicking the festivities off with special Festival of FUTball Path to Glory live items that upgrade based on National Team wins.”

The first Path of Glory side features the likes of Phil Foden, Antoine Griezmann and Eden Hazard.

FIFA 21 fans can also expect a host of special Weekend League Rewards, which are outlined in a new EA Sports blog.

Dogecoin forecast: Elon Musk tipped to ‘test new highs above $1' in crypto 'rebound'

After a quiet couple of days, positive news about Dogecoin being added to Coinbase inspired a sudden surge in price for the “meme cryptocurrency” on Wednesday. It shot up by more than a third within the space of just a few hours and today is still trading at around $ 0.40 (£0.28). Backed by self-proclaimed “Dogefather” Mr Musk, the token has risen more than 12,000 percent since the start of the year, and hit an all-time high last month of $ 0.72 (£0.51).

And crypto analyst Motiur Rahman believes it will surge once more.

Writing in his May report for Daily Forex after the coin dipped at the end of last month, he stated: “Based on price action, it is anticipated that Dogecoin will rebound as investors are expected to get back into the market.

“The short-term moving averages are still gapping up.

“It is an indicator that the price is overall trending up faster than the historical average despite the current correction.

“Looking further ahead, Dogecoin charts point to potential growth, as evidenced by its weekly charts.

“The Dogecoin price chart shows an upward trajectory with consistent gains for six months. The upside momentum is supported in its price action this month.”

And Mr Rahman tipped Tesla CEO Mr Musk to play an important role in that forecast.

He added: “Elon Musk has had a big impact on Dogecoin’s price action. He is the sole reason why Dogecoin is where it is today.

“Dogecoin has experienced significant growth from being a joke coin into one of the most valuable cryptocurrencies and can attribute most of its success to Elon’s tweets and large following, which propelled it to its current success.

READ MORE: Dogecoin warning: Crypto tipped to plunge again as chart forecasts drop to $ 0.18 in days

“Musk, who still shows interest in Doge, recently stated that Dogecoin would be used to fund SpaceX’s trip to the Moon next year.

“However, he later called Dogecoin a “hustle” on primetime television, and nobody was sure if he was joking or not.

“In any case, whether positive or negative, it is likely that the buzz of publicity which has already been created around Dogecoin will continue to keep the interest high and may well produce a strong recovery in the coin’s price.

“This will be one of the factors that might not just see Dogecoin push past its recent highs but possibly test new highs above $ 1 as well.”

Mr Musk celebrated the recent news of Dogecoin being added to Coinable by sharing a meme on Twitter of the token, adding “it’s inevitable”, in an apparent reference to the incoming surge.

He has also called on people to submit ideas for Dogecoin improvements and upgrades and fuelled rumours he is working with doge developers.

Mr Musk’s support, alongside his dwindling interest in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, has added legitimacy to Dogecoin.

Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has previously warned investors of the risks that come with investing in cryptocurrency.

They said: “If consumers invest, they should be prepared to lose all their money.

“Some investments advertising high returns from crypto assets may not be subject to regulation beyond anti-money laundering.

“Significant price volatility, combined with the difficulties valuing [Bitcoin] reliably, place consumers at a high risk of losses.”

Jude Bellingham tipped to be England’s breakout Euro 2020 star amid Jordan Henderson doubt

Jude Bellingham has shown enough promise to suggest he could be England’s breakthrough star at the European Championships. That is the opinion of Ian Wright, who believes the Borussia Dortmund midfielder is set to make an impact for Gareth Southgate’s side this summer.

The 17-year-old has beaten off competition from the likes of Jesse Lingard and James Ward-Prowse to earn a place in Southgate’s final 26-man squad for the tournament.

He makes his first start for England in their friendly against Austria at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium tonight, partnering Declan Rice in midfield.

Bellingham only made his debut in November – and has played just twice for the Three Lions before Wednesday evening – but has made a real impression on Southgate.

The former Birmingham City midfielder contributed four goals and four assists in 45 appearances for Dortmund following his £25million move to Germany last year.

He appears to be behind Rice, Jordan Henderson and Kalvin Phillips in the pecking order ahead of England’s opening Euro 2020 game against Croatia on June 13.

JUST IN: Raphael Varane has Man Utd ‘offer’ on the table as part of summer plan

Liverpool midfielder Henderson remains an injury doubt, having failed to recover to full fitness following a groin injury in February.

With Southgate choosing not to select Lingard and Ward-Prowse when he reduced his squad from 33 names to 26, Bellingham could play an important role at Euro 2020.

If Henderson is not fit to start against Croatia next Sunday then the youngster could be thrust into the spotlight.

Meanwhile, despite not making the squad, Lingard starts against Austria, with England missing the Chelsea and Manchester City players who played in the Champions League final on the weekend.

Trent Alexander-Arnold also starts, alongside Bukayo Saka and Jack Grealish.

Dogecoin tipped to break $1 in days as crypto makes comeback with ‘new all-time high’

The cryptocurrency market has enjoyed a surge in the past few days with all 10 of the world’s most highly valued tokens rising. The cause of the bounce-back remains unclear but it has added $ 150billion (£106billion) to the total market cap of all cryptocurrencies combined. Dogecoin, which is backed by Elon Musk, is currently valued at $ 0.32 (£0.23), having fallen as low as $ 0.28 (£0.20) last month.

But crypto analyst AJ Clores believes it is about to rocket, sharing a post on his YouTube channel ‘Self Made’ as evidence.

Reading it out, he said: “Firstly, if Tesla actually accepts Dogecoin as a form of payment which is slowly looking more and more like it will happen, it will see a huge increase.

“Bitcoin when accepted by Tesla saw an increase of 70 percent. If we took the price of Dogecoin now at $ 0.35 (£0.25) it would see an increase to $ 0.60 (£0.42).

“Secondly with the Coinbase listing coming up very soon, it seems that Dogecoin really pushes to an all-time high just before a specific news drops.

“During the anticipation for Elon Musk being on Saturday Night Live, we saw the price of Dogecoin go from $ 0.30 (£0.21) all the way to $ 0.75 (£0.53) which is a 155 percent increase.

“If we take a 155 percent increase to the price of $ 0.60 (£0.423 we could see it at $ 1.60 (£1.13) easily.

“Lastly, if you have ever heard of the ‘Coinbase effect’ it is basically when a crypto is listed on Coinbase it results in a drastic increase in sales and pushes to new all-time highs.”

Coinbase announced today that it has officially listed Dogecoin on Coinbase Pro, a major development that exposes the “joke” cryptocurrency to one of the world’s largest Bitcoin and crypto exchanges.

Coinbase said in a blog post that it will “immediately” begin accepting inbound transfers of Dogecoin to Coinbase Pro in regions where trading is supported.

Bombshell UFO report from US tipped to be 'story of the century'

Social media is awash with rumours the explosive files could finally expose the truth over whether alien life exists. It has long been speculated that highly advanced alien species have already visited Earth.
Governments across the world have repeatedly denied this, insisting there is no evidence to support this.

But the existence of top secret locations, most famously the US airbase commonly known as Area 51 in Nevada, has fuelled speculation that governments are not telling the entire truth.

Now an explosive documentary by American show 60 minutes has broadcast leaked footage claiming to be of UFOs.

It also reportedly obtained a Pentagon report which described them as a “national security threat”.

READ MORE: Baba Vanga 2021 predictions: Tsunami warning and end of the world

“We can’t explain how they move, their trajectory.

“They did not have an easily explainable pattern.

“And so I think that people still take it seriously, trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”

News of both the report and documentary was shared by the widely followed Twitter account News For All.

It tweeted: “UK government figures believe the publication of a US government report on UFOs due next month could become one of the stories of the century.”

The account cited a Politico Playbook post on rumours circulating in Whitehall about the report.

It said: “There are increasing rumors among well-informed government insiders that the publication of a US government report on UFOs due next month could become one of the stories of the summer, or indeed, century.”

Conservative politician Cabot Phillips reacted to the show and said he couldn’t “believe the new UFO report from the Pentagon” wasn’t bigger news.

He added: “There were so many sightings the Pentagon confirmed that they created a top secret programme to investigate UFOs.

“The USS Princeton and USS Nimitz tracked an aircraft that traveled 60 miles in 3-4 seconds, after being confronted by an F-18 fighter squadron in the Pacific.

“We’re just now finding out there have been so many sightings by our military that the Senate Intel committee is holding a public hearing next month because it’s a ‘national security threat’.”

The outspoken politician went on to claim the sighting could only be one of three things.

These were “advanced US technology being tested”, “China or some other foreign military” or its “other-worldly”, he claimed.

He then went on to warn that people should stop ridiculing anyone who brings up UFOs as being unhinged.

He said: “I know we’ve all spent years laughing at anyone who brings up UFOs, but if the US military and intelligence community is to the point where they’re calling it a national security threat, it’s probably time to take them seriously.”
