Elvis Presley Jailhouse Rock: How did Elvis’ co-star Judy Tyler die?

One of Elvis Presley’s most famous movies has to be 1957’s Jailhouse Rock. The film saw The King play Vince Everett, who was sentenced to prison for manslaughter before rising to fame as a musician. His co-star was Judy Tyler, who played Peggy Van Alden, a music promoter who eventually becomes his lover.

Tragically, Judy Tyler died on July 3, 1957, several months before the movie premiered.

Shortly after wrapping on Jailhouse Rock, the 24-year-old and her second husband Gregory Lafayette drove home to New York from Hollywood.

However, while driving through Wyoming, the young couple were involved in a fatal car crash on US Route 287 near Rock River.

Judy was killed instantly, while her husband, who was the same age as her, died the next day.

Lamar added: “He gave an interview to the Commercial-Appeal saying he didn’t think he could stand to ever watch the movie. And he meant it at the time.”

However, the Memphis Mafia member claimed that within 36 hours Elvis was “over it” and did watch Jailhouse Rock.

Elvis was invited to Judy’s funeral but wrote a letter of condolence to her family instead, as he didn’t want his presence at the service to “create a disturbance.”

Jailhouse Rock premiered in Memphis on October 17, 1957, but The King did not attend.

James Michael Tyler, 'Friends' actor who played Gunther, reveals cancer diagnosis

Tyler said his diagnosis kept him from appearing in person on the HBO Max reunion of “Friends” in late May.

WASHINGTON — The actor who played Gunther in the hit TV show “Friends,” James Michael Tyler, revealed on Monday that he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

During an interview with the TODAY show, Tyler said he was diagnosed in September of 2018. After additional testing, the former actor learned that it has progressed and spread to stage 4.

“I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, which had spread to my bones,” Tyler told the TODAY show’s Craig Melvin. “I’ve been dealing with that diagnosis for almost the past three years. … It’s stage 4 (now). Late stage cancer. So eventually, you know, it’s gonna probably get me.”

Tyler said his diagnosis kept him from appearing in person on the HBO Max reunion of “Friends” in late May. He said it was his decision not to appear via  Zoom call rather than person, but said it was “bittersweet.”

He first learned of his diagnosis during an annual checkup. Tyler said that the cancer eventually spread just in time for the pandemic, despite hormone therapy.

He added that because of the coronavirus pandemic, he missed an appointment which “was not a good thing.” He said his cancer “decided to mutate at the time of the pandemic, and so it’s progressed.”

Right now, Tyler said he is undergoing chemotherapy, but he wanted to push the importance of getting screenings and tests to be diagnosed early.

The American Cancer Society recommends that men of average risk should be tested around the age of 50, while others with a higher risk — including African American men and those with a family history of prostate cancer — should be tested by 40 or 45. However, the organization urges patients to speak with their doctor before getting a screening.

“A lot of men, if they catch this early, it’s easily treatable,” Tyler stressed. “I don’t want people to have to go through what I’ve been going through. This is not … an easy process.”

Billie Eilish Snuggles Up To Matthew Tyler Vorce On A Stroll As They Spark Dating Buzz — Pics

Billie Eilish was photographed resting her head on Matthew Tyler Vorce’s shoulder while they went on a walk together.

A new romance may be brewing for Billie Eilish! The singer sparked dating rumors with Matthew Tyler Vorce, an actor, when they were spotted out and about together on April 18. In photos from the outing, WHICH YOU CAN SEE HERE, Billie walked her dog while strolling alongside the actor. At another point, she even rested her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around her to hold her close.

Billie and Matthew stopped at a shop to grab drinks while out and about. Billie kept it casual in a pair of bike shorts and a black sweatshirt, with her new, platinum blonde hair on full display. Meanwhile, Matthew wore jeans, a crew neck sweatshirt and a baseball cap. HollywoodLife has reached out to a rep for Billie regarding the status of this relationship.

Throughout her recent years in the spotlight, Billie has been very private about her personal life. However, in her 2021 Apple TV+ documentary, she debuted her ex-boyfriend, 7:AMP, who she referred to as ‘Q’. The two broke up in 2019, but he was a big part of her life during the time when she filmed the doc.

“I just wasn’t happy,” Billie admitted in the footage. “I didn’t want the same things he wanted and I don’t think that’s fair for him. I don’t think you should be in a relationship super excited about things that the other person couldn’t care less about. There was jut a lack of….um, effort I think?” She also admitted that Q’s lack of “love for himself” played a part in things unraveling. “I don’t want to fix him,” she explained. “I can’t fix him. I tried.”

After Billie and Q’s relationship went public, there was criticism due to the pair’s five-year age gap, and the fact that Billie was quite young when she dated the rapper. Billie’s fans gave Q major backlash on social media, but she urged them not to take it too far. “Remember to be nice to people no matter what!” she wrote on Instagram. “I love you guys, thank you for protecting me, but be nice!”

Tyler Perry mentioned as unsung hero in royal couple's escape to America

ATLANTA — Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, spoke to Oprah Winfrey in a nationally-televised two-hour interview on Sunday night, marking their first in-depth interview since leaving the royal family.
As the story of the couple’s departure from the UK unfolded, one detail emerged that involved Atlanta media mogul Tyler Perry.
In the interview on CBS, Markle told Winfrey that when the couple first moved to America, Perry offered her, Prince Harry, and their infant son Archie his home and full security detail.
Perry is well-known in Atlanta and elsewhere for his generosity, but the details of the event involving Markle, the prince, and their son were especially shocking, given that the Monarchy had rescinded the child’s security even though the couple was living under a significant threat level.
Following the revelation, many tweets emerged praising Perry’s actions in the face of the royal family.
