Center Parcs has announced that it has identified a site for its sixth UK holiday village.
The company has secured an option agreement to acquire privately owned woodland at Oldhouse Warren off Balcombe Road, near Crawley in West Sussex.
Following an extensive search, the 553-acres of woodland has been identified as a suitable site due to its location to the south of London and its excellent transport links.
Center Parcs will now undertake rigorous site surveys and pre-planning works to ensure the woodland meets the specific requirements of a Center Parcs village, as well as
carrying out a programme of community engagement with a view to submitting a planning application to the local authority in due course.
In line with the other Center Parcs villages, it is intended that the site at Oldhouse Warren will include lodges, a range of indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, a Subtropical Swimming Paradise, a variety of restaurants and shops and an Aqua Sana Spa.
The development is expected to cost £350-£400 million and create approximately 1,500 permanent local jobs once operational and a further 1,000 jobs during construction.
Center Parcs chief executive, Martin Dalby, said: “It is really exciting to have identified a potential site for another Center Parcs village in the UK.
“The proposal we will be submitting will create a significant number of jobs and bring major benefits to the local and national economy.
“Today’s announcement marks the first step of a long journey and there is still a huge amount of work to be done before we can submit a planning application.
“As a business, we take our responsibility to the local community extremely seriously and look forward to sharing our plans as they progress.”
The anonymous man’s time travel confession emerged in March 2019, after he shared his story with online paranormal investigators. The supposed time traveller had his face blurred and voiced distorted in the video but he claimed he is the real deal. Speaking to a camera for YouTube channel ApexTV, the time traveller produced three photos, which he said he took on a mission in the year 3311. The time traveller said he has an “extremely interesting story” to tell – a story about his past and his future.
The man said: “What I am telling you is true and I even have the evidence to prove it.”
He then pulled out three photos of what the world is supposed to look like nearly 1,300 years into the future.
The first bizarre photo appears to show a futuristic city built on some sort of floating island in the sky.
The time traveller said: “This was not the only picture I took in the future.
According to the time traveller, he snapped the pictures after he was elected to take part in a secret time travel operation in the 1990s.
He said he was selected due in no small part to his accomplishments at school in the area of computer development.
And he argued the secrets of time travel were cracked through the mysterious applications of quantum computing.
He said: “I can’t say the name of that organisation but I can assure you that organisations like the one I’m describing, and many many more, not only exist but are carrying out secret programmes behind closed doors.”
However, all three photos presented by the supposed time traveller are clever edits of pre-existing photographs, meant to look as if they are from the future.
The first photo is an edit of a mountain forest valley wallpaper hosted on the website 7-themes.com with a floating city pasted in.
The second photo is actually an edited photo of the Antilia building, which is the private home of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani in South Mumbai, India.
Many of the people who saw the video, saw through the deception and called out ApexTV in the comment section.
YouTube viewer Mike Mathieu said: “These ‘pictures’ look about as real as Japanese animation.”
Vignesh Baidu said: “Next time at least take a selfie so that we can clarify it’s not photoshopped.”
And Richard Labeja said: “The pictures look fake, especially the floating city.
“There perspectives, lighting and contrast look severely inaccurate.”
Not according to Professor William Hiscock of Montana State University, or at least not in the form described in the ApexTV video.
The time travel expert said the effects of the time-illation effect allow people to move forward in time but not backwards.
He said: “Time travel into the past, which is what people usually mean by time travel, is a much more uncertain proposition.
“There are many solutions to Einstein’s equations of General Relativity that allow a person to follow a timeline that would result in her (or him) encountering herself – or her grandmother – at an earlier time.
“The problem is deciding whether these solutions represent situations that could occur in the real universe, or whether they are mere mathematical oddities incompatible with known physics.”

After years of rumours and speculation, Nintendo has finally lifted the lid on its revised and upgraded Switch system. Introducing the Nintendo Switch OLED Model, launching on October 8 (the same day as Metroid Dread).
The new system will feature a larger 7-inch OLED screen (the standard console has a 6.2-inch LCD screen), a new wider kick stand, enhanced audio through new in-built speakers, a LAN port in the dock, and 64GB of internal storage (double the 32GB of the standard model). It also comes in a fetching new colour variant, as you can see above.
Here are the full details from Nintendo’s official PR:
Nintendo Switch (OLED model) has a similar overall size to the Nintendo Switch system, but with a larger, vibrant 7-inch OLED screen with vivid colors and crisp contrast. Nintendo Switch (OLED model) also features a wide adjustable stand for tabletop mode, a new dock with a wired LAN port, 64GB of internal storage, and enhanced audio for handheld and tabletop play. Just like Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch (OLED model) allows players to play on the TV and share the detachable Joy-Con controllers for right-out-of-the-box multiplayer fun. And just like both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite, with Nintendo Switch (OLED model), the system can be taken on the go to enjoy its play-anywhere versatility. A carrying case and screen protector set for Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will also be available.
“The new Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is a great option for players who want to experience the new vibrant screen when playing in handheld and tabletop mode,” said Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser. “With the addition of this new model to the Nintendo Switch family of systems, people have an additional choice of a system that best fits the gaming experience they desire – whether it’s Nintendo Switch (OLED model), Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite.”
Nintendo Switch (OLED model) will let players experience enhancements in all three play modes:
TV mode: Set the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) system into the dock to play Nintendo Switch games on the TV. By using the built-in wired LAN port, players can enjoy another way to connect online in TV mode.
Tabletop mode: Flip the stand on the back of the system and use the system’s screen to play multiplayer games using two Joy-Con controllers right out of the box. A wide adjustable stand makes for a solid and sturdy foundation. It allows players to freely tilt the system and adjust the viewing angle, so it makes it easier to see the screen.
Handheld mode: Players can bring the system wherever they go in handheld mode and play local or online multiplayer with friends. The system’s 7-inch OLED screen provides vivid color and crisp contrast.
When the system launches, it will come in two color options:
– Nintendo Switch (OLED model) white set, which features white Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit and a white dock.
– Nintendo Switch (OLED model) neon red/neon blue set, which features neon red and neon blue Joy-Con controllers, a black main unit and a black dock.
All previously released Joy-Con for Nintendo Switch are compatible with this new model. Additionally, Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is compatible with the full library of Nintendo Switch games.
We first heard whispers of a ‘Switch Pro’ way back in January 2019, with various sources believing such a console was just around the corner. It seems that the main upgrades here are the 7-inch OLED screen, improved speakers and a LAN port in the dock, rather than any extra horsepower.
Perhaps the huge success of the base model, the surprise of the pandemic, and any other number of factors you want to throw into the mix ended up delaying this announcement, but here we are with a brand new console on the way.

Aldi is one of the UK’s most popular supermarkets, with 900 stores in the country. Now, the discount retailer has unveiled plans to open more than 400 other stores in the UK.
Aldi opened its first UK store in 1990, and since then it has competed alongside Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Lidl as part of the UK’s six biggest supermarkets.
Although Asda, Tesco, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s are the UK’s original Big Four supermarkets, discounters Aldi and Lidl are quickly catching up.
For its new stores, Aldi is looking for suitable sites in the middle of town centres or at the edge of centres.
It wants each site to be around 1.5 acres and able to accommodate a 20,00 sq ft store.
Mr Aldridge added: “That’s why, more so than ever, we’re keen to explore all opportunities to open new stores across the country.”
Some of the cities Aldi is looking at include Bristol, Oxford, Birmingham, Liverpool, Cardiff, and Edinburgh.
In other Aldi news, the supermarket is bringing back some of its most popular garden Specialbuys this summer.
From June 27, customers will be able to get their hands on the Rattan Effect Corner Sofa and Cover Bundle, and the Wooden Garden Trolley.
On July 4, the large hanging egg chair will be on sale for £249.99.
This is similar to the supermarket’s iconic hanging egg chair, but bigger.

Tom Meyer, a professor of Bible studies at Shasta Bible College and Graduate School in California, US, told Express.co.uk: “When the crème de la crème of the international community was wearing fine linen, purple and scarlet and smelling like cinnamon and frankincense, the new vacation hotspot was the rebuilt Tower of Babel in Babylon.
“Everyone was excited by the intriguing reports that the work on the Tower of Babel, which had stopped and then was restarted (by Hammurabi – 1792 to 1750 BC) only to be stopped again for 1,500 years, had been completed by famed builder, Nebuchadnezzar 2, king of Babylon (605 to 562 BC).
“They’d heard a rumour that the top of the temple contained a portal that transported you to heaven.
“According to Henry Hampton Halley (Halley’s Bible Handbook), the judgment of the confusion at the original Tower of Babel occurred in the fourth generation after the flood, around the time of the birth of Peleg (Genesis 10:25); this was 100 years after the Flood of Noah and 325 years before Abraham first came to the Holy Land (about 2000 BC).

In accordance with current local public health guidance, full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results will be required to attend Lollapalooza 2021.For patrons who are not fully vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 24 hours of attending Lollapalooza each day.
“To attend Lollapalooza, you either will need to be fully vaccinated or you will need to provide a negative test for every day that you are planning to attend,” Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said. “So the easiest way by far if you want to attend Lollapalooza is to get vaccinated now.”RELATED: Is a vaccination requirement for Lollapalooza legal?
The festival will be at full capacity. In 2019, it drew 400,000 people to the park over four days.
“We’ve made tremendous progress in containing the spread of COVID-19, with all of our leading metrics stable or on the decline,” Dr. Arwady said. “This is a reason to celebrate and why we’re able to make this announcement today. To ensure we celebrate safely this summer I encourage everyone to continue to be safe and smart; if you’re sick, stay home; wash your hands frequently; wear a mask if you’re traveling or using public transit; and most importantly get vaccinated if you haven’t already.”

How fans will prove they’ve been vaccinated is still in the works, but it could involve mobile apps, or showing your vaccination card. Details on the festival entry process will be available in early July, organizers said.
The city hopes it encourages more people to get vaccinated. So far, only 38% of Chicago residents have gotten their shots.WATCH | Business owners celebrate Lollapalooza’s return
The tens of thousands of people flooding the city’s center this summer means an influx of long-lost foot traffic for struggling shops and restaurants.”Huge, huge, like I said, I’m coming in, I’m in for a couple days for business, and just waiting for it to open up,” Marchand Boyd said. “And ‘ll be looking forward to coming back for more events.”

The Liverpudlian legend changed the world as part of The Beatles, who performed together for an unforgettable 10 years before splitting up. Sir Paul is one of two surviving members of the band alongside Sir Ringo Starr, 80, after the deaths of John Lennon and George Harrison. The 78-year-old continues to make music to this day and released his latest album McCartney III Imagined last week.
Since the dissolution of The Beatles, Sir Paul has also become known for his artistic talent.
He produced a number of paintings, including abstract portraits of Queen Elizabeth II, David Bowie and Elvis Presley.
Recently, Gotta Have Rock And Roll Auctions has listed a new piece by Sir Paul that many will have never seen before.
The sketch comes from when he was a 16-year-old student at the Liverpool Institute High School for Boys.
Beatles: Paul McCartney’s sketch from when he was 16 years old has raised questions at a new auction
The Beatles: Paul McCartney was 15 when he met John Lennon, then 16
The Beatle’s drawing was discovered in his “school textbook from 1958” and could fetch up to £3,500 ($ 5,000) under the hammer.
Auction house owner Ed Kosinski told Express.co.uk: “The drawing is rare and unique because it was from so early on during his time at art school.
“Anything from that period is almost impossible to find.
“It shows that he was an artist first and foremost and later he became a very prominent painter.
The Beatles performed together for 10 years before breaking up in 1970
“Art was his first form of being an entertainer, this was before his fame with The Beatles.”
Sir Paul was 15 years old when he met John, then 16, when he was performing at a church fete garden party with the original line-up of The Quarrymen.
They both attended the Liverpool art school and five years later, became international icons after the release of From Me To You in 1963.
Sir Paul’s drawing, which was sketched in pencil, shows two faces that could represent the legendary songwriting duo.

Express.co.uk were told ‘it’s possible’ that the Paul McCartney sketch was of him and John Lennon
The first sketch on the left shows a man with hair that looked very similar to the star during the “early Beatles” years.
The unknown man, who is dressed in a blazer, shirt and tie, smiles as he looks ahead at the next figure.
The other sketch shows a man with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth who seemed to have extremely wide eyes.
That second figure, who bears a typical quiff of the era, could have been a sketch of a young John.

The Beatles: This copy of the white album was described as ‘the holy grail’ for fans and collectors
Express.co.uk asked Mr Kosinski whether he thought the sketches were early portraits of The Beatles.
He replied: “They did meet in art school so it is possible.”
However, Gotta Have Rock And Roll’s website noted “the cartoon-like” characters “strike a resemblance to the aesthetic of the early Beatles”.
The artwork, which is open for bidding until Saturday, was described as potentially being “a self-portrait” of Sir Paul.
Other items listed in the auction include “the only known existing copy” of a “factory-sealed No 0000001 copy” of The Beatles White Album.
Mr Kosinski told Express.co.uk: “There were about 10 made and they were given to various Beatles apart from this one, which went to an executive.
“One of the Beatles previously sold his for a tremendous amount of money but this one is factory-sealed and is the only one in the world.
Prince’s outfit from the Little Red Corvette and 1999 music video is also up for grabs
“It is considered the holy grail among Beatles collectors because there are no others that are close in value.”
The album cover is estimated to sell for up to £500,000 ($ 700,000) and currently carries a bid of more than £38,000 ($ 53,594).
Other items listed include Sir Elton John’s iconic Mozart costume, which he wore during performances in 1986.
The outfit, which featured on the cover of his album Elton John: Tour De Force Alternate Live In Australia, could fetch up to £71,000 ($ 100,000).
Elton John’s costume when he dressed-up as Mozart is also listed for auction
Also up for grabs is the “most iconic Prince outfit to ever come up for sale”, which carries an estimate of up to £430,000 ($ 600,000).
The lot included the legendary singer’s synonymous metallic purple jacket and trousers along with a ruffled white shirt.
The outfit was worn by the musician for his Little Red Corvette and 1999 music videos – and was previously owned by Lee Ryan from Blue.
