With server queues in full force and gamers struggling to keep stable connections, Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 is slowly starting to work for everyone.

Verdansk 84 is now the main map and a lot of it will remain very familiar to gamers fans of the Battle Royale game.

Locations like Superstore and the Military Base remain hotspots, with plenty of other new POIs now live.

The Grid Array now sits perched between the Salt Mine and the Stadium, both of which have had major makeovers.

The whole map has been revamped, but some gamers are having issues exploring Verdansk 84.

While COD fans are now able to play the new Warzone map, finding a game is proving very difficult.

Some gamers are being left in queues, while others continually connect to different games.

The good news is that these problems are easy and a flurry of playlist patches are being released to help cut down on the issues.

The next 24-hours should see servers return to normal and gamers will be able to start checking out the new Season 3 features.

These include the new and reimagined locations, which has seen nearly every building, surface and object retouched.

“The launch of Warzone has reinvented Call of Duty. In just over a year, more than 100 million players around the world have jumped in to play Warzone together, and starting today we’re taking it to a new level,” said Rob Kostich, President, Activision.

“Season Three brings a massive amount of content and new updates – the most since launch – to Warzone as it transforms to 1984, while we’re also bringing a tremendous amount of new, free content to Black Ops Cold War.

“Thank you to our fans everywhere, today is a celebration for our community. There’s so much more coming this season and beyond, get ready.”

And a recap of what has happened this week can be found below, courtesy of Activision:

1. For weeks, players have fought-off Zombies throughout Warzone, while tracking their progress via Containment Protocols and Corruption Zones.

2. Yesterday, as the Zombies horde reached its tipping point, millions of players experienced an event in-game that triggered a nuclear blast decimating the entire Warzone map, as Verdansk went dark.

3. In its aftermath, Warzone players were transported to Rebirth Island, where a series of mysterious in-game clues and hidden messages helped players unlock the remaining secrets of the event and understand what really happened to Warzone, ultimately transporting everyone to Verdansk in the year 1984, and the highly anticipated launch of Season Three.

4. As the new Warzone experience officially launches today, the community celebration continues as players head online to play all the new Season Three content, including the new-look Verdansk 1984 Warzone map and a host of new Multiplayer and Zombies content across Black Ops Cold War.

5. Fans can follow the latest intel @CallofDuty on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, or visit www.callofduty.com. Viewers can also head to Twitch.tv/callofduty for live action, including the Atlanta FaZe $ 100,000 Gold Rush Tournament.

Call of Duty Warzone fans have been given a look at the new Season 3 map.

After the end of season nuclear event, fans will be transported back to the 1980s for Verdansk 84.

The updated Warzone map features a whole host of new areas to explore, including the Stadium back when it was under construction.

First up let’s look at the new and improved Dam, which has been revamped for Season 3 as ‘Gora Summit’.

The new area has a clear walking path for easier access, as well as working cable cars to get up and down.

Verdansk airport has also been revamped, featuring a second floor with a clear line of sight to the pesky sniper tower. It’s described as familiar, but with new gameplay opportunities.

New spaces have also been added, including an Airport Factory that’s full of handy loot and close-quarters combat opportunities. It’s been added to fill out the map.

The Grid Array is a huge structure that is likely to be the first area players will see when skydiving. Be warned, however, snipers are almost certain to be lurking.

You can see some of the new locations in the screenshots below.

Perhaps most exciting of all is the Stadium, which in its past form is under construction.

It’s described as a typical open-air stadium from the 1980s, meaning it no longer has a roof top or an underground section.

Elsewhere, the Karst Salt Mines are an expanded version of the Quarry from Season 2. More buildings have been added to the location, and this time they’re accessible to players.

Similar to Stadium, Downtown is also under construction. This means it’s not quite as dense as before, leading to different fighting opportunities.

Season 3 also introduces a new Warzone event, which tasks players with completing challenges in order to hunt down Adler.

“Starting with the launch of Season Three, the new ‘Hunt for Adler’ limited-time event will task Operators with unique in-game challenges in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone to learn of Adler’s whereabouts.

“Complete these Intel Challenges to unlock Event rewards, including Weapon Charms, Calling Cards, a new Operator Skin, and more.

“You can find more details about this event in the Seasonal Event tab on the main menu between Play and Weapons once Season Three kicks off in Warzone. Once you’ve completed a full set of challenges in either Black Ops Cold War or Warzone over the course of the event, you’ll unlock an exclusive Adler skin for use in both games!”

Having kicked off the Destruction of Verdansk, gamers are now waiting for Part 2 of the Call of Duty Warzone event to begin.

The good news is that developers Raven Software has shared its schedule for what is coming next, meaning we can track what happens next.

Destruction of Verdansk Part 1 included fans dropping into Verdansk in groups of fours, with expanding radioactive areas limiting the areas gamers could explore.

This was quickly followed by Juggernaut scorestreaks dropping across the map in loadout boxes.

And with plenty of mini-guns blasting across different location, players soon started getting taken out.

But instead of being thrown into the Gulag, players were brought back as Zombies who would continue to drop back into Verdansk.

With gas pushing gamers into a small circle, the event ended with a failed Exfil ending with a short trailer.

This included a nuclear weapon being fired toward the Stadium, bringing an end to the modern Verdansk era.

After the Destruction of Verdnask Part 1, Raven Software released several Rebirth Island playlists, all of which take place at night.

Apart from the game being hosted at night, Rebirth Island also has a new location called the Control Centre.

And this new POI looks set to play a bigger role in the second part of this week’s Warzone event.

From what has been shared so far, the next major event will be the release of Warzone Season 3.

This will come complete with a new trailer, and eventually, the showcasing of the new Verdansk map, which will reportedly be from a different era.

Changes in locations and POIs are expected to be included, but it’s unclear if other content from Modern Warfare will be removed.

This will be happening at 5am BST on April 22, and will mean downloading and installing a new Warzone patch. However, after rebooting the game with Season 3, gamers will need to until 8pm BST on April 22 to play the new map.

The Season Three update was made available for Black Ops Cold War on April 20 at 9 PM PT and will be available for Warzone April 21 at 9 PM PT.

For this update, there will be a download size of approximately 8.1 – 13.1 GB for Black Ops Cold War and 25.2 – 25.9 GB for owners of the free-to-play Warzone who have the latest updates on either game.

Warzone Update Sizes:

  • PlayStation 5: 25.6 GB
  • PlayStation 4: 25.6 GB
  • Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S: 25.9 GB
  • Xbox One: 25.9 GB
  • PC: 25.2 GB

A message from Activision adds: “It is expected that exfiltration helicopters will arrive across Verdansk after 12:00 today, April 21. Due to the number of aircraft needed for this evacuation and the unusual wind conditions across Kastovia, we only have an estimated time of arrival for the first formation of helicopters, but we expect evacuations to be finished by 14:00.

“Third, due to the Containment Protocol communication efforts, a system-wide update will need to be done across our network. This will require all Operators to manually update their comms unit (for civilians, their “console”) starting at 21:00 on April 21. Given the above timeline, we expect the operation to be successful and comms to fully resume to normal by 12:00 on April 22.”

WARZONE EVENT PART 2 SCHEDULE

Call of Duty Warzone event Part 2 has this schedule:

April 21

  • 2PM PT – 10PM BST: Seek safety from Verdansk on Rebirth Island.
  • 9PM PT – 5AM BST: Update your comms (console) and investigate Rebirth Island.

April 22

  • 12:00PM PT – 8PM BST: Return tomorrow to Rebirth for updated instructions.

This could be connected to the new Hunt for Adler event, which has been announced for April 22, with Activision telling fans this week: “Starting with the launch of Season Three, the new “Hunt for Adler” limited-time event will task Operators with unique in-game challenges in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone to learn of Adler’s whereabouts. Complete these Intel Challenges to unlock Event rewards, including Weapon Charms, Calling Cards, a new Operator Skin, and more.

“You can find more details about this event in the Seasonal Event tab on the main menu between Play and Weapons once Season Three kicks off in Warzone. Once you’ve completed a full set of challenges in either Black Ops Cold War or Warzone over the course of the event, you’ll unlock an exclusive Adler skin for use in both games.”

With fans and different teams of Easter egg hunters looking to complete the latest puzzles and COD ARGS, gamers now have access to the first images featuring the incoming Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 map.

As expected, this week’s Verdansk update has seen the original map destroyed and a new version set to take its place.

Teams over at @ModernWarzone have been busy working out the latest Easter eggs released into Rebirth Island, the only map currently playable in Warzone.

And their detective work has seen fans find a new teaser site called Rebirth from the Ashes.

This new site contains a number of Easter eggs, with some of the biggest including images of the new Verdansk map.

As confirmed by Raven Software earlier today, the new Call of Duty Warzone map is scheduled to be added to the game at 8pm BST.

Plenty of other teasers are expected over the coming hours, and there’s a good chance that a new trailer will be released as well.

But whatever is being planned for the buildup, fans can head over to the https://rebirthfromtheashes.com/ site and check out some fuzzy images.

This can be done by typing in the following codes into the terminal:

  • AIR
  • BLACK GHOSTS
  • DETECT
  • CROWD
  • CONTAINED
  • SEED
  • EXECUTE
  • HEAL
  • HUNGER

  • LOCKED DOORS

As mentioned above, the new images aren’t very clear but they do give a flavour for what is being planned for later today.

A message confirming today’s Warzone event schedule from Activision reads: “This briefing will be updated as new information becomes apparent.

“All updates will be visible to all Operators as well as civilians. We will coordinate efforts using the Armistice Standard Pacific Time.

“It is expected that exfiltration helicopters will arrive across Verdansk after 12:00 today, April 21.

“Due to the number of aircraft needed for this evacuation and the unusual wind conditions across Kastovia, we only have an estimated time of arrival for the first formation of helicopters, but we expect evacuations to be finished by 14:00.

And developers Treyarch has also confirmed that a brand new event, complete with new Intel Challenges, will be going live with the new Season 3 map.

The Hunt for Adler is expected to be available to complete as soon as the game goes back online, with Raven Software teasing today:

“Starting on April 22nd, the new “Hunt for Adler” limited-time event will task Operators with unique in-game challenges in both Black Ops Cold War and Warzone to learn of Adler’s whereabouts. Complete these Intel Challenges to unlock Event rewards, including Weapon Charms, Calling Cards, a new Operator Skin, and more.

It has been confirmed that Part 1 of today’s Call of Duty Warzone event will end at 10pm BST, although we don’t know what is coming next.

Fans who have completed the event have seen squads battling to survive only to be wiped out by Zombie hordes, or the launch of a Nuke.

Exfil becomes impossible as the Dam becomes the last spot before a short trailer goes live.

While we don’t know what is happening during Verdansk Desutrction Part 2, we have had this hint dropped regarding the Call of Duty timings.

This could point to new events happening later today, with the April 22 update going live at 5am BST, followed by something new at 8pm BST on Thursday night.

The post by Activision reads: “Armistice Central Command is ordering the evacuation of all Operators and civilians from Verdansk, effective immediately. Per Armistice Code of Conduct, evacuation efforts will be conducted as follows:

“This briefing will be updated as new information becomes apparent. All updates will be visible to all Operators as well as civilians. We will coordinate efforts using the Armistice Standard Pacific Time.

“It is expected that exfiltration helicopters will arrive across Verdansk after 12:00 today, April 21. Meanwhile, another post shared online comes directly from Rebirth Island and is requesting news on what has happened in Verdansk.

More blog posts and hints could be shared throughout the day ahead of the big Warzone Season 3 release time on April 22.
