Kate Middleton, 39, appeared at Wimbledon today to watch day five of the tennis. She was joined by British tennis champ Tim Henman, who sat next to the Duchess to watch today’s matches.
Later today, tennis champ and friend of the Duchess Andy Murray will play against Canadian Denis Shapovalov.
But Kate wasn’t at Wimbledon just to watch the tennis – she also visited the kitchen used by AELTC over the past year to support the local community throughout the pandemic.
Over the past year, the kitchen prepared and distributed some 200 hot meals every day.
And today, one of those helping out was the Duchess herself as she helped staff and volunteers prepping food.
She also heard more about this charitable initiative from executive chef Adam Fargin, who has been leading the project.
Kate was seen in pearl earrings today – and an expert has spoken about why these are a staple for the Royal Family.
Diamond expert at Austen & Blake Anthony French said: “Diamonds and pearls – the epitome of royal jewels – have been seen paired together on many of the royals including the Queen, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton over the years.”
Members of the Royal Family have styled the iconic jewels in different ways.
“Often worn together when tending to their formal affairs, female royals have paired them in a number of ways,” Anthony said.
“Meghan has been seen in a pair of white gold diamond and pearl earrings.
“The Queen is often seen wearing a string of pearls around her neck, accompanied by a diamond brooch.”
When royals such as Kate have donned diamonds and pearls, the expert suggested they give a strong message that can be copied by anyone wearing the jewels. He explained they can add “class” to an ensemble and help “impress”.
Queen Letizia of Spain married King Felipe VI in a wedding ceremony in Madrid’s Almudena Cathedral after meeting back in 2002. Letizia, who was well-known thanks to her job as a journalist for Spanish national TV, revealed their wedding plans during a news conference in November 2003.
When Felipe proposed to Letizia, he presented her with a stunning diamond engagement ring.
It featured a white gold band which was set with 16 baguette-cut diamonds.
The ring was made by Suárez.
After the wedding ceremony, Queen Letizia stopped wearing her engagement ring and is rarely seen wearing it to this day.
Taking to Instagram to ask why, one person wrote: “I noticed she is wearing a fashion ring but not her wedding ring, why do you think that is?”
Another said: “I think her engagement ring is stunning and she should definitely wear it!”
“I love her jewellery regardless of what she wears, such a trend setter,” said a third.
Queen Letizia regularly carries out visits and engagements in Spain, with one of her most recent appearances saw her attending her daughters’ confirmation in Madrid.
For the occasion, the royal wore a white asymmetric blouse with buttons up one side.
Known for wearing designer brands, the Masks white blouse retails for a whopping £120.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Twitter account wrote: “It was so lovely to host Mila in her beautiful pink dress for tea at the Palace of Holyroodhouse today. The Duchess spoke with Mila last autumn after her photograph was chosen to feature in the #HoldStill2020 project.”
“Omg, am crying now, this is so cool of Catherine to do for this little princess,” one wrote.
Another said: “I’m American, a Royal watcher since the late 70s and I think Catherine is off-the-charts incredible!”
“Oh how gorgeous, the Duchess kept her promise to Mila,” one fan said.
Another wrote: “They both look so beautiful in pink dresses. Mila is such a brave little girl!”
