“I properly got choked up, I can’t believe I’m here now and a guy came round the corner who I haven’t seen for 40 years who I used to play with as a kid.

“We were hugging each other, we were in tears. It’s a fantastic episode, it’s 24 hours in the car without getting out so they gave us a pot to wee in.”

“Were they strict?” Alex asked to which Paddy replied: “You couldn’t get out. We drove through Bolton market and we bought pots and buckets for other things…”

“I drove them round Bolton around where I grew up, I loved it,” Paddy added. “These Teslas have karaoke machines and we had 200 people around the car singing Neil Diamond songs.”

The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One at 7pm.
