Buying a property is huge investment and not something to be entered into lightly. Before making a purchase, most people will consider factors such as location, size and price. However, an expert revealed the top five things buyers must check before parting with their cash.
Check the floors
The experts said: “Look out for floors that have any unusual sagging or dipping.
“This could be a sign that there are structural issues with the plumbing that may require an investment further down the line.”
Don’t trust fresh paint
“Always be suspicious of anywhere that looks like it’s been recently – or hastily – painted over,” they explained.
“Something has been fixed or covered up, and it’s best if you find out what it is.”
Check electrics and piping
The experts added: “Can you see a lot of exposed wiring or are there any other indicators that the electrics are below standard?
“For both electrical and plumbing matters, it’s a good idea to bring an expert along for a second walk-though.”
