What are critics saying about The Rhythm Section?
Sadly, critics are not mad about the movie, with it gaining a 39 percent rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes.
Jake Cole of Slant Magazine said: “The film’s occasional gestures toward pseudo-feminist empowerment only compound the hollowness of its protagonist.”
James Dyer of Empire was slightly more favourable, giving the film three out of five films, adding: “Lively’s steely heroine and a propulsive plot ensure you’re never bored, but this is a generic thriller from a simpler time, bulked up by a single strong performance.”
Peter Bradshaw of the Guardian was also slightly kinder to the film with the same rating, also saying: “Morano puts together good fight scenes, robust stunt work and tasty car chases.”
